There is an enduring oft-repeated myth that if convicted, Trump would be removed from the ballot. Legally and constitutionally, there is no basis for that myth.
What you say only applies to the November 2024 General Election and only if President Trump is able to conduct an independent effort to be listed on State Ballots for the “General Election”.
He is currently listed as a “Republican” candidate and participant in the REPUBLICAN Party’s Primary. The RNC and Republican Party are not bound by election laws as to whom they declare to be eligible to be a candidate in the Party Primary. The only rules impacted the RNC and Republican Primary are Party Rules and Charter.
One can rest assured that if the RNC demands President Trump be removed from ballots as a “Republican Candidate and Primary Participant”, States would comply.
President Trump would then be required to launch an independent effort to apply to States to be placed on ballots for the November 2024, GENERAL ELECTION.

There are time constraints, deadlines, that differ from state to state to qualify get on the ballot.
This, I think, is what the anti-Trump Republicans are hoping for, why they are still “campaigning”.
Even if Trump gets through RNC and wins the general election (somehow, notwithstanding election fraud), then “Plan B” is that a conviction would set him up to be impeached immediately in Congress.

If Trump wins with ongoing court cases or investigations there will be plenty of leftist judges that will rule he can’t replace any FBI, DOJ, Homeland Security, IRS, etc. employees or heads, if they have any connection to any unresolved litigation. The judges will rule that firing anyone would be an obstruction of justice. It will take a couple years to get to supreme court and in that time the democrats all get to keep their jobs and continue to harass a sitting president.
This is why I don’t think the left wants any of these cases finished before election. Think about that. We could have a president that is not allowed to pick his cabinet, department heads, or even lower level appointees because the existing workers are protected because they are involved in Trumps prosecution.
It’s an evil way around the political changes every new president gets to make.

The cases were dismissed because there was no legal basis to the claims made as President Trump has not been proven to have committed the violations cited by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

My understanding is tgat after the R Nominating convention, when the Party has an agreed upon nominee for POTUS and VPOTUS, the RNC Chair writes a letter with 50+ copies and sends it to each of the 50 State Secretaries of State (and I assume to appropriate authorities in territories?) stating that the Party has endorsed these candidates, certifying they meet the Constitutional requirements and asking they be put on the ballot.
If the RNC Chair doesn’t ASK, the name diesn’t go on, so thats ONE hurdle and place for THEM to try to prevent PDJT from getting on the ballot i.e. the RNC.
I DO think these 14thA art.3 cases have been brought, just like the Indictments, in part to build a narrative which it was hoped could be used by Ronna as an EXCUSE for denying PDJT the nomination.
The argument may be used on delegates to the convention, by pundits and influencers, and even by Ronna and the RNC;

it was similar to when big box stores first became a thing. I’m old enough to remember the first costco.. (china shipping yada yada). State inspectors went in and found dozens of regulations and food safety violations. all of a sudden EVERY BUSINESS IN THE AREA WAS UNDER THE SAME SCRUTINY. And business inspections ramped up big time. and yes, this did curtail the profitability of small businesses…and yes, you guessed it..local papers (paid by investors most likely) were aiming the rat stories with your favorite diner…
so there is a scheme that goes way back to stomp competition and crush small biz. A small store in my area, during that time would likely have maybe 100K in revenue annually. Maybe. It’s barely enough to cover business costs. The big box stores looked at all those small stores and licked their chops and before too long…mom and pop were closing shop. it happened. everywhere…slow at first and then real quick.
everytime I drive by a sam’s club, costco, walmart, lowes, homedepot, target…I get a little sick to my stomach. I remember!

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) announced on Wednesday that he will retire at the end of 2023, saying his “work is only getting started” in recruiting other Republicans to run for Congress.
McCarthy, 58, wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that 17 years after first running for office to serve California in the House he had “decided to depart the House at the end of this year to serve America in new ways.”
“I’m an optimist. How could I not be? I’m the son of a firefighter. For 17 years I’ve served in the same congressional seat—the same office in which I was once denied an internship. Only in America,” he wrote.
“I will continue to recruit our country’s best and brightest to run for elected office. The Republican Party is expanding every day, and I am committed to lending my experience to support the next generation of leaders.”
He is not MAGA …….. good riddance …… would be better if he went into the “sidewalk cleanup” business in CA and do something useful for a change.
So he is admitting that his serving in Congress was all about power. Now that he doesn’t have any, he’s slithering back to CA.
Newsom will probably wait until next November’s election date in his call for a special election, thereby permanently reducing the Republican small advantage in the House for this term.
