But I think that in MOST of the cases, our historically “favorite” Republican voices demonstrate they KNOW with certainty the things we want to hear and ultimately the things we want to see done. Most seem to “walk right up to that line and never cross it” while others “seem to cross it and then backtrack.” They ALL demonstrate they know RIGHT from WRONG and yet, when it is necessary to act on it, they refuse.

While I’m sure many politicians and government employees fear the truth about them coming out [blackmail] those who are without useful flaws or history are attacked in the usual terms — fake scandals and accusations. We’ve seen this over and over again.
From a purely functional standpoint, they are less than useless to this country because in the end it doesn’t matter why they know what they are doing is wrong, only that they are doing wrong. But from a position of possible redemption or the potential of a final act of rebellion against their captors, I try to leave open the possibility that they may, at some point, “do the right thing.”
Before you call me out as naïve or high on hopium, I’ll point out that this is a flaw I’ve learned from President Donald J. Trump as he absolutely operates in this manner and I have come to understand the benefits of such modes of operation.
Most of them know, most of them are both bribed and threatened. Some are unbribeable, few can stand up to threats.
