The problem with this is that the Netherlands, like all of the EU, deals with proportional voting, rather than ‘first past the post’ like the US. So, as Wilders received 37%, which is still not the majority (50%), he must form a ‘coalition government’ with other political parties, to get past 50%. Of course, the liberal left will not go into government with Wilders, so he will need to get other parties to join his coalition, to get past the 50% mark.

Worked for the Dutchies the last 12 yrs. They always wanted it both ways and thought they could. Well the chickens came home and roosted and shit everywhere and they got burnt badly. That element is an inherent perception of guilt for ‘having more’ than someone else. It is guilt that builds on the fact that one’s beneficial position in life can be traced back hundreds of years to some atrocity by some distant forebear. This is what terrorists and those promoting “woke-thinking” manipulate people into self-immolation.
 
To step away from that guilt one needs perspective. Humanity has come a long way from tribal conditions ~2,500 yrs ago. Then, we relied on our limbic senses. Impulsive survival behavior for food, shelter and land resources dominated our behavior As humanity came to trade resources between tribes, negotiation became the primary skill of life success which shifted behavioral control to the wider perspective contemplated by the frontal lobes. A sense of guilt is one element of this shift that most of us with some historical learning recognize that we are not like our ancestors today. We have a far more advanced perspective of others in which the Golden Rule is primary for the majority of us. We may still feel guilty of having more than others but most do not feel guilty of a forebear’s actions 100s of years ago.
