People need to be asking themselves a simple question:
Who the hell is voting for democrats when their key figure is a bumbling meat puppet overseeing the worst economy we could possibly imagine as the world is on the verge war?

IMHO, he must have seen that Cameron had the best chance to win against Bashear, of all GOP candidates in the primary, and also was possibly the least corrupt among potential winners. I can’t argue that since i never followed that state in any detail. I only know from recent experience that PDJT doesn’t always endorse the hard MAGA crowd’s favorite in every instance. That proved to me that he probably bases his choices on information of which we are not always aware (internal polling and other data). PDJT also never opines if he even remotely thinks his endorsee might lose.
He had the best chance of winning it and he’s the best Republican that was running for the job.

This isn’t hard. In fact, it’s quite easy.
But the GOP’s messaging has been so bad that one begins to wonder if they are deliberately being incompetent.
Take Virginia, the state were Ralph Northam said on the radio that is perfectly acceptable to murder a baby AFTER it is born. That’s Nazi-level evil. And the Democrats should be called out on it… like President Trump has done at rallies.
But in Virginia, the GOP chose NOT to run with this message. They didn’t point out the extreme position of Democrats, but chose to run away from the debate.
President Trump’s position was correct. Let the states decide. But the GOP in these states has to explain the red line. They didn’t and it cost them. Simply incompetence? Or something else going on here?
Here in Virginia we could not figure out why Youngkin wasn’t blasting the airwaves with Northam’s own words.

I’m starting to suspect the GOP in Virginia isn’t really trying.
Youngkin will not be running for President. I they thought it would help them against Trump, the club would have given him the win in Virginia.

Retired Magistrate here: It was something else going on here in Ohio. The GOP handled the abortion issue so badly that it appears that they wanted to lose on this issue. The pro life movement here in Ohio could have gone on the offensive after the overturning of Roe v. Wade; however, they didn’t and have been on defense ever sense. That has not turned out well.
However, all is not lost. The language in Issue One is subject to various interpretations and Issue One does not address how it will effect existing legislation regarding abortion and safeguards to the mother’s health. As a result, I can see the abortion issue being tied up in Ohio courts for the foreseeable future and eventually ending up in the Ohio Supreme Court, which at the present time, is a conservative court.
I really hope so.
Honestly can’t wait for God to judge us. We need to stop.
Marcia – I live in NE Ohio, and I agree that the GOP has botched the whole abortion issue. Especially this past August, when they panicked about November’s Issue 1 coming on the ballot, and tried to do a frantic end run to change amendments to needing more than a simple majority. (If conservatives were so worried about our constitution being changed too easily, why did they wait till last summer to bring it up?) Liberals saw through it and voted it down. (Too bad they didn’t think about the constitutional aspects a lot earlier, and not as a knee-jerk reaction. Had it already been in place, the 56% Yes votes would have failed to add it to the constitution.)
Plus, the millions of PAC dollars that blasted fearmongering pro-abortion Issue 1 ads did the job, too. Ohio is a middle-ground state, rather than straight blue or straight red. You get hardliners of either team in the cities or in the rural areas — but lot of the rank and file people here like to have wiggle room on hard issues. And although the majority may not like abortion, they bristle at shutting that door completely in the name of “compassion” for hard cases. (As they say, hard cases make bad law…)
There is also a strong libertarian streak in our state as well, in terms of not letting the government “tell me what to do” about personal health decisions. (Wish the outcry for that had been greater from liberals regarding covid…)
The ads took advantage of that, claiming that a NO vote would mean that if your teen daughter was raped, she would be forced to carry her attacker’s child, etc. It was seen as taking away your rights, and people seized on that. Also, although I am pro-life and don’t want to see any child aborted, I don’t think a majority of Ohioans have that mindset. And that’s a real factor to accept if you are trying to outlaw something that most people don’t want to completely outlaw.
So yes, I agree that the messaging against Issue 1 was all over the place, and not focused enough. And finally, I felt during the Dobbs decision that conservative Christians were high-fiving each other a little prematurely. SCOTUS overturned Roe v Wade only because it was a badly-reasoned law, and not because the majority of the country had a change of heart about it. Until that happens, there will be a lot of pushback.
I am happy to see Roe overturned, but I trust our Supremes not at all. I think that they were instructed to overturn Roe (after 50 years of kicking the can forward) to energize the Democrat/Socialist base because turnout was needed and racism has been beaten so hard for so long it was/is a dead horse and they needed to reactivate abortion as a marketable issue.

Ohio,sadly, is no longer any kind of red. It has been infested with leftists in all communities. The left won many seats in the suburbs, traditionally held by Republicans for decades, from school boards to city councils. They have taken over at the local levels and will continue to move up through higher offices and judgeships. With the three big cities, the democrats have swallowed up Ohio.
This shouldn’t have happened had the republicans been proactive and confronted the Dems in public so the news media was forced to show it to the public. People vote on what they hear and see, mostly at the last minute, or don’t bother to vote at all. The Dems have organized their game a hundred times better than the republicans for years now. It continues and the voters are now being hit with manipulated elections and out right cheating via the acceptance of mail in ballots that they allowed without much push back. After Covid, all mail in balloting should have disappeared. It didn’t and it is run by the democrats who take great advantage of it and always planned to when it finally was given to them. The republicans are complicit in accepting it too and they are stuck in the dark ages as far as running elections go and it seems to be increasingly clear it’s on purpose.
Those of us who are aware of what’s going on are still in the minority right now. Worse times -2024-are coming in our elections, as yesterday’s local and state elections proved. It has not gotten better from 2020. It is worse. What can we do about it? Keep trying to inform people and pray very hard God intervenes to help us.

All those voters who voted for a Republican AG and SOS and with overwhelming Republican support for President MAGA Trump in 2024 but for some reason they reject the MAGA Governor?
The most important position strategically not only because of the MAGA candidate involved but because of the Governors ability to clean up election fraud.
It seems voters were discerning last night and generally refused to vote for Uniparty candidates. MAGA did win across the country in local races and in the other governor race (Mississippi).
Cameron was known to be mentored by (ugh) McConnell through his career in politics. Uniparty establishment backed him as did McConnell. His tenure as AG was uninspiring compared to a few other state AGs who were actually in the fight for this country.
I heard him in an interview last week. He came across as if he had no idea why he was running. It was just one interview, but it struck me as weak, as if he had no independent ideas or mojo of his own.
In the end, I come back to my sense that the Uniparty-backed candidates lost because voters decided to no longer pull the lever for them.

Couple of thoughts in response.
(1) Fraud can always be a factor in this country as long as we have mail-in, machines, dirty voter rolls, etc.
(2) Kentucky results included a WIN of with BOTH the AG and SOS by I believe it was 17% and 22% –huge blowout victories.
Fraud may have happened, but it may not entirely explain Cameron’s loss.
Cameron is not MAGA. He has been on McConnell’s team from his earliest days in politics and was widely known to be actively mentored by McConnell for years.

Hey Sunrei, as you noted the down ballot races were 60-40% Republican. The Governor race had 25k more ballots and a shift of 75k to the Democrat. One of the few voter fraud cases still active (id have to look but i think it was Pennsylvania) had a back room with the mail in ballots being replaced.
How do you get 75k MAGA voters to vote Democrat?

I am in agreement here. There is no telling that the downvote offices are going to prove MAGA to any degree. Cameron was a weak candidate as far as pure MAGA apparently. BTW, my county is one of the oldest in the USA. We had 35% turnout, which istypical in elections where nothing important is being voted on.

A teen died over the weekend after suffering from cardiac arrest during a Junior Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, or JROTC, 5K that was held at a Miramar high school, officials said.
Miramar Police said officers responded to a medical emergency at Everglades High School at about 9 a.m. Saturday and found the teen suffering from cardiac arrest.
The teen was transported to Memorial Miramar Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by doctors.

Does anyone else find it odd that Republicans beat Democrats for small office positions in typically blue strongholds like in LI and that town in NH but in typically red strongholds like Kentucky and Ohio they lose elections for positions that mean something? That does not make sense. You don’t have a red wave in blue strongholds and no wave in red strongholds. When have the Democrats been viewed as unfavorably as they are today? I know my personal experience doesn’t mean the whole country shares the same experience but there was significant turnout in Lower Makefield PA yesterday. I don’t believe the turn out from Republicans is as low as is being reported.
