A few thoughts about tonight’s contests:
1. Kentucky’s incumbent Democrat governor comes from a political dynasty. It was always an uphill climb. Other Republicans on the ticket CRUSHED their opposition.
2. Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves has faced stiff opposition from within his own party. Lots of issues internally. However, every other Republican on the ticket CRUSHED their opposition tonight.
3. The Virginia races? That’s a question for Youngkin (the political darling of the GOP and the Never Trump movement.)
4. Eight times abortion has been on the ballot and eight losses for pro-lifers. No money. Bad messaging.
5. Democrats are crushing Republicans in fundraising. Ronna and the RNC need to be held accountable. It’s unacceptable.
6. It’s sickening to see some in the DeSantis orbit celebrating Republican losses tonight.
7. Unless the GOP unites and stops trying to destroy conservatives it will be a bloodbath in 2024.

Excellent analysis. I would only add that the abortion and marijuana results in Ohio last night preview the Dem strategy for ’24 nationwide. The danger here is extreme. Historically, the 18-34 cohort has always had low voter participation, but abortion is clearly driving much larger turnouts in this demographic. In global terms, Gen Z is on the edge of becoming a huge, single/double issue voter bloc that will be reliably Dem for several election cycles. Looking at the numbers, this hurt us in WI, MI and PA in ’20 and ’22.
Trump can win enough black and latino votes to offset the damage here, but any other Republican candidate all but guarantees a Dem sweep in ’24. Much, of course, to the delight of the Ronna McDaniels “Republicans” of this world.

Facts:
Running as the Republican presidential candidate == automatically on every state ballot.
Running as a third party candidate ==very hard to get on every states ballot since its not automatic
Running as an independent candidate == almost, if not completely, impossible.

The radio host @WRKO radio I listen to every morning said today that within two months of having to take his 11 yr old daughter out of Catholic school and putting her in the PS system, she is calling him a racist.

Leaving the whole issue of parental consent and minors out of the bill. But when I pointed that out to people, they accused me of “reading too much into it”.
I feel like moving out of this state. I thought it was much more conservative than this.

Some very red counties had less than 10% registered voters voting yesterday. It’s not that Ohio is going blue, its called being lazy and not exercising your civic duty.

When it comes to abortion I’ve seen many Christian women support it. They buy into the idea that you can’t get emergency D&Cs for ectopic pregnancies or you are forced to carry the baby even after it dies. I’ve had those conversation with my nephews wife. She claims to be a Christian but sees no issue with abortion. There are a lot of so called Christian women who think that way. Feminazi rhetoric has tainted all churches. They’ve been feminized to appeal to women and that boots men out of leadership. I’ve actually had 80 year old women tell me that God made man the head of the family but he made woman the neck. Essentially they believe their job is to control what the man in the home and church does. As a woman I find that disgusting and prat of the reason these abortion measures pass overwhelmingly. A lot of Christian women just aren’t acting like Christians.
I’m not sure the supreme court booting abortion to thr states was a good idea. Especially in this world where evil is openly everywhere. Our nation is so clearly under judgment. I continue to pray for our nation but God’s will be done.

I was extremely pro- choice when I was in my teens and 20s, which was the era of the whole “women’s liberation” movement. What changed me was not becoming a Christian but becoming a mother. The day I heard my baby’s heartbeat (about the 10th week of pregnancy), I realized I could never support abortion. And yet I know young women who not only heard their baby’s heartbeat but have pictures of their little one growing and developing inside their womb! And they still support abortion- not for them- but for other people because it’s none of their business to tell other women what to do, etc.
I am a Christian and am reading and trying to follow the Word of God as given to us in the Holy Bible.
Today I am not doing a good job of it though, because I have allowed the spirit of hopelessness and despair to pull me away from the Word of God instead of trusting in His power to overcome the world.
Therefore, God bless everyone on here. I need to spend time with God and repent. The battle is ongoing and we all will need our strongest armor and our sharpest weapons.

If there is unity of purpose, diversity need not be a weakness and can be a strength. When there is diversity of purpose however, anarchy is the result.
Once upon a time, immigrants came to America because they believed in what America stood for. There was unity of purpose and the diversity that was brought enmeshed itself in American culture and became itself a part of America. A key part of this success was intentionally maintaining a pace of immigration such that their integration into American culture would not be overwhelmed by sheer numbers.
However, there is no longer unity of purpose. Immigrants are being brought in who do NOT believe in American ideals. And they are being brought in at a rate that ensures self-isolated groups maintaining their own culture and making no attempt to adapt and become of one purpose with those of us who were born and raised here and still believe in those ideals. This cannot succeed, nor is it intended to. It’s proponents know full well they are destroying America and celebrate it.

I went by the church yesterday to donate two Thanksgiving meals. They are short $1500 + for the turkeys that go with the meals. Their donations are about 1/2 of last year. Meaning last year they gave to more families in need than they can this year. When more are in need this year we are not even half way filling last year’s need.
I mentioned to the volunteers that inflation has hit families with a $750 a month increase in total costs. Most had no idea it was that much. One mention that they don’t pay attention to the cost of things.
Think about this for a minute. People don’t know the cost of goods are increasing. So either we are too blessed or sleep walking. This marxist movement will continue until the majority feels the pain.
It is no wonder God is letting this insanity continue.

An 85 year old relative stated recently that the indoctrination started back in the late fifties.
Like many here I try and pay attention to what’s going on.
Very few folks are interested in what’s going on.
In my home country it is soccer. I played a bit, and have been involved in many aspects of the game.
When I learned that it came about at a professional level to satisfy workers in the industrial towns of the U.K. my interest started to wane.
Now Qatar and Saudi Arabia are “ greasing” the wheels of the game in a massive way.
I enjoy some U.S. college football to see the enthusiasm and enormous attendance at those games one would think everything was beautiful.
IMO the U.S.is hurtling towards our Canadian lifestyle.
If one prepared or got lucky ( inheritance) they will be okay for a while.
The middle class is all but gone.
Things we with little but a work ethic, and half a brain could accomplish are simply not possible.
I have to believe God has a plan.

Restricting something as morally repugnant as the snuffing out of a human life right up to the moment of birth is shown to be a “losing issue” and many, many people are ever so tempted to simply abandon their convictions to get a “win”.
This is EXACTLY what is wrong with the Catholic Church and many Protestant denominations today. They have abandoned the hard teachings and difficult moral principles in search of the “easy” path that gains them more followers.

The pain coming to many has never been felt by the majority of this country. Those over 60-65’ish know some of the pain from families and surely the younger set haven’t a clue what’s coming our way. I don’t believe most will wake up until the financial hardships hit them personally.
Many are still seemingly not noticing that under the guise of “protecting reproductive freedom” they are sneakinh in language that codifies transgender transitioning treatments for minors, without parental consent.
Frankly, we were “better off” with Rowe in place, than with these new State laws that are being shoved thru.

We got what we’ve been fighting for for the last 50 years. It is no longer enshrined at the national level. Now we must do battle at the state level. Overturning Roe v Wade wasn’t the end of the abortion battle, it was the beginning. People acted like they had won and walked off the battlefield.
Some battles have been lost. That’s not the war. Pro choice amendments to state constitutions have been passed. Amendments can be repealed or modified. People can be educated. Hearts can be changed.
This as a spiritual war being waged in the earthly realm. As such, while we must engage in earthly ways — elections, court battles, etc — we need to be spiritually armed and refreshed before and during the conflict.
Back to basics, I don’t consider abortion a losing issue. I think it’s how we frame the issue that can be losing. I had the privilege of hearing Dr. John Bruchalski speak about life-affirming medical care. He is a former abortionist turned pro-life advocate. His story of how easy it is to be guided into doing abortions in medical school is a lesson to us all. He spends a good deal of his time traveling to medical schools promoting life-affirming medicine. He is not always met with open arms. A take away is that we need to watch what’s being taught in medical schools.
I volunteer with mothers in crisis pregnancy, as well. Many have made poor choices along the way, choices I am glad I never had to face. When they find themselves pregnant–usually the father is AWOL–they are facing loss of income, increased expenditures for medical care, child care, housing, transportation, diapers, etc. It is not uncommon for these moms to be facing eviction, as well. I currently am working with a mom expecting twins. She’s worked for over 10 years at a local supermarket. It’s not a high paying job, but she’s been working. She’s having major health issues with the pregnancy and has doctor’s orders not to work. Right now she has no money coming in. Her mother is a drug addict and can offer no help. Can you imagine what the next couple of years must look like for her? She needs someone to help calm her fears and realize she can overcome all these obstacles. Fortunately, she sees her babies as a blessing from God and wants to fight to keep them. I don’t know how you deal with someone who thinks pregnancy is an inconvenience and wants to pop a couple of pills to terminate the “inconvenience”.
I am saddened to see the negative comments here on the Catholic Church. I am a practicing Catholic. I see a lot of comments clearly showing ignorance of the Church. Rev. Fulton Sheen said, “There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church — which is, of course, quite a different thing.” When I see criticisms of the papacy, I am reminded, too, that even Peter, leader of the Apostles, was flawed. He denied Jesus 3 times before the cock crowed. The pope–successor to Peter–is not sinless, as some seem to believe. He can say/do things that are not in accord with the Magisterium of the Church. I’m getting this increased feeling that they’re not gonna have the election next year with Trump as the Republican nominee.
Even if Trump lost, he’d likely win the popular vote, showing that a majority of the country is voting against the Government, its’ systems and both parties. From a framing/narrative perspective, they can’t have that. Remember, it’s not what they say/show, it’s what they don’t. It’s what they hide, what they omit, that shows their bias and implicates their motives.
And even if they were to somehow deny him ballot access, he’d get a large percentage of write-in votes they wouldn’t count. But that, ultimately, is an unviable path for them to maintain control.

I am a little surprised by the reaction to the election results. Why would anyone vote for a GOP candidate? What accomplishment can the GOP point to? I cannot even figure out what their platform is. When the GOP tries to put forward some ideas for a platform, I find them hilarious. For instance, they will send out materials that say the GOP wants to secure the border. This concept is comical after they denied Trump the funding to do that. Responsible spending? Bwahahahaahahaaa. One of my favorites is the idea that they want to fix the judiciary….after every single senator refused to call recess in order to stop Trump from making recess appointments. How about Obamacare? I guess they forgot how to repeal that during the Trump administration.

There is low hanging fruit from yesterday’s races, like machines flipping votes in Northampton County, PA, and other places – or unfair application of election rules across counties – but not every election outcome that goes poorly can be decried for shits and giggles unless we have something to show for it.
In many cases, issues or candidates have less than half of Trump’s votes in the state or county.
