Alcohol addiction has a tendency to run in families….there are 4 on my dad’s side…that is why I don’t touch the stuff…maybe egg nog every other year but nothing much else.
Taking any opioids for a whoile CAUSES you to be addicted . The more you take the more you need to satisfy the addiction. In the case of pain, theres something called pain amplification syndrome. So with pain the more opioids you take for pain, the more you need because the opioids intensify the pain

Actually, crystal meth addicts are “worse” than junkies, which usually specifically means heroin addicts.

Why not just set up an account using login.gov? Looks like you just need an email and 12-character password. IRS probably has additional requirements just for account verification… like SSN/TIN, address on file, etc. Then you can use something like Google Authenticator on your phone for secure one-time codes: login using email/pass, prompted for auth code, open authenticator app to generate code, etc. Sending auth codes via text message or email may also be supported.

The Constitution describes who’s eligible to be on the ballot, how old you are and where you were born.

These state actions are designed, IMHO, to attempt to thwart the Electoral College system.
Should a few states succeed in keeping our VSGPDJT off the ballot, then obviously he would not receive electoral votes from those states. But, since the states attempting this would not be ‘going’ for Trump anyway, the electoral vote count would not be affected.
However, the popular vote totals would then be claimed as the only way to ‘saving our democracy’ due to those states not having any popular votes for PDJT and thereby granting an overall vote count winner as the true president due to the electoral college not taking into account that PDJT was not eligible for any votes due to a few states machinations of declaring him ineligible . . .
Eliminating the Electoral College has been one of the long term goals of the communists and they are well on their way of doing just that, there are only a few more States needed to join the compact to have national popular vote used to declare the winner for Presidential elections and the gutting of our States-Federal system will be completed and ready for dictatorship.

The family of Robert Card, the shooter who took the lives of 18 people in Lewiston, Maine, last week, knew something was wrong five months ago. In May, his son and ex-wife reported his declining mental health to a Sagadahoc County sheriff, who said he would check into it. They thought it might have had something to do with hearing aids that he got in February that were causing him to have what they called “auditory hallucinations.”
In July, Card was doing his annual training with his Army Reserve unit at West Point when other reservists noticed that Card was acting strangely, accusing them of calling him a “pedophile” and then getting into a shoving match with one of them.
For that episode, Card was taken to a hospital for examination, after which he was transferred to Four Winds Hospital, a mental-health treatment facility. He spent two weeks there.
After being released, the Army ruled that Card should “not have a weapon, handle ammunition, or participate in live-fire activity.” This was based on one of Card’s range participants stating that he threatened several times to “shoot up” the place. He texted his superior that he was concerned that Card would “snap and commit a mass shooting.”
In August, Card visited the Coastal Defense Firearms store to pick up a silencer that he had ordered online. That involved a background check, which he passed. However, when he got to the store, he was required to complete another form, which asked, “Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?”
He answered “yes.” Rick LaChapelle, the owner, told reporters that “as soon as he answered that ‘yes’, we knew automatically that this is disqualifying … that he’s not getting a silencer today.”
The rest is history. On October 25, in the space of about 10 minutes, Card shot 31 people at two different locations, killing 18 of them. He then committed suicide, and the police found his body three days later.
Questions are being raised. What about the sheriff who promised to call on Card and see if he needed any assistance? That never happened. The sheriff, with backup, did go to his residence, but when they heard him “moving around” inside, and knowing his skill as a firearms instructor, they left him alone.
What about the Army? According to the sheriff’s department, a unit commander assured his department that the Army was trying to get treatment for Card and that he thought it best “to let him have time to himself.”
What about Maine’s so-called “yellow flag” law? Emily Bader, a reporter for The Maine Monitor, which is operated by the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, explained:

More than a year ago when the raid on Mar-a-Lago occurred, I noted that when a president identifies classified material as a presidential record at the close of his administration, the courts have held that this action has the effect of instantly declassifying that material. The simple act of boxing up the material as a presidential record for shipment to the president’s chosen post-presidency location declassifies the material.
I also noted that those with US Government classification authority can classify any material from any source at any time, including material which is currently in the public domain. For example, without your knowledge or consent, your own birth certificate can be declared to be classified material and you can be prosecuted for unauthorized possession of a copy of it.
In addition, originally classified material which had been declassified through some legally accepted means can be subsequently reclassified at some future time at the whim of an authorized US Government classification authority.
So now some further questions must be asked:
— At what point in time was Donald Trump’s executive privilege over documents revoked? Was Donald Trump ever informed that his executive privilege over documents had been formally revoked? If so, at what point in time was he informed?
— At what point in time did the unclassified material Donald Trump have in his possession at Mar-a-Lago become classified material at NARA’s direction?
— What was the scope of NARA’s classification directive? Did it include only previously declassified material Trump had in his possession as a presidential record, or did it include all documentary material of any kind from any source he had in his possession, even his personal documentary material unrelated to his presidential term?
— Were Donald Trump and his staff ever informed, either before the Mar-a-Lago raid or after, that NARA had reclassified previously declassified material?
— Assuming that the scope of NARA’s directive included all documentary material of any kind, regardless of its source or its previous classification status, were Donald Trump and his staff ever informed, either before the raid or after, that NARA had classified everything he had in his possession?
— The Presidential Records Act directs how disputes between NARA and a former president over possession of presidential records must be conducted. There are no criminal penalties included in the Act. Past precedent in these disputes is that a former president’s decision to maintain possession of his presidential material stands.
— In the course of the formal negotiations between Donald Trump and NARA conducted under the umbrella of the Presidential Records Act, was Trump ever informed that NARA had reclassifed previously declassified material? Was he ever informed that his executive privilege over documentary material of any kind had been revoked by his successor?
— If, prior to the Mar-a-Lago raid, Donald Trump actually had been informed that previously declassified material had been formally reclassified at NARA’s direction, did he acknowledge the possibility that NARA’s reclassification decision might be legal and did he then take appropriate measures to protect that material while negotiations continued?
— Prior to the Mar-a-Lago raid, were federal authorities informed of the measures Donald Trump and his staff had taken to protect disputed material, and did those authorities accept those measures as being appropriate for the circumstances that were then extent; i.e. negotiations with NARA were underway and were being conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Presidential Records Act?
Once again we see how Joe Biden, the Democrats, and the Administrative State are using sophisticated lawfare methods to persecute their political opposition and to deny that political opposition the freedoms we once enjoyed under the US Constitution.
It was widely reported at the time it happened that Biden revoked President Trump’s executive privilege which allowed NARA to go forward with their stupidity (and totally partisan actions!).
It all started with NARA around Feb/March 2021.
Joe six pack (me) never hears this stuff (about the reclassification and NARA), this information provides valuable context and bears repeating. Docs were declassified by Trump, then made reclassified by NARA at the request of Biden? What little I learned in High School civics described ex post facto laws, a crime that wasn’t a crime when committed. Does ex post facto apply because the docs were declassified by Trump, hence it wasn’t a crime to possess them? Explain this to caveman.

Fake news. Even if Biden did “reclassify,” a former President retains the highest level of security clearance forever. And he has special rights concerning his own materials. The National Archives are exactly that: “Archivists.” They do not make the rules.
The ones who broke the law were the FBI agents who pawed through material they had no right to see, then carried it out the door of the secure facility and loaded it into unsecured trucks.
I still want to know who the psychic was that told Biden and his gang that there were papers within President Trump’s control that threatened national security. We now know, beyond a shadow of any doubt, that Biden was concerned that what Trump’s presidential papers included was evidence of Biden’s criminality, and that is why he had to deputize an archives clerk to be his catspaw. The whole thing is a bad joke, retroactively making criminal what wasn’t criminal before and then imposing absurd deadlines so that no reasonable accommodations could be reached.
Lots of tainted fruit from that poisonous tree laying around and being earnestly litigated by bent judges.
A better understanding of how lawfare tactics operate is required here. The objective of this particular form of lawfare attack on President Trump is to keep him and his staff tied up in defending themselves against criminal charges.
What special rights President Trump either has, or does not actually have, as a former president have been placed into legal question as a direct consequence of the Mar-a-Lago raid. From a lawfare tactics perspective, that was the purpose of the raid.
As a lawfare tactic, the raid itself was the process means of automatically establishing a legal doubt that these presidential rights actually exist; and if they do actually exist, under what conditions and circumstances those rights exist. In other words, the DOJ has ignored the true legal merits of the raid in order to automatically establish a long and expensive lawfare process for examining the legal questions.
The fact that the courts have accepted the Mar-a-Lago indictment and has initiated criminal process hearings is evidence that the DOJ’s lawfare approach has been relatively successful so far. And so one cannot dismiss the Mar-a-Lago raid and its aftermath as having no consequences for the 2024 election cycle.
IMHO, President Trump is certain to be convicted of some number of bogus criminal charges in one or more venues before the 2024 election cycle is out. The larger question remains, will any of these bogus criminal convictions have any impact on his march to become our 47th president?
Does he even have that power or is this just more “lawfare” crap that will disappear when light is shed on it. It makes no sense a President can do that.

The American Hospital Association (AHA), along with the Texas Hospital Association and two nonprofit Texas health systems, filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in federal court in Fort Worth, Texas. The lawsuit accuses the agency of overstepping its authority when it issued the guidance in December.
The guidance warns healthcare providers that allowing a third-party technology company like Google or Meta to collect and analyze internet protocol (IP) addresses and other information from visitors to their public websites or apps could be a violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). That federal law bans the public disclosure of individuals’ private health information to protect them against discrimination, stigma or other negative consequences.”…

A thought:
It would seem — given the widespread use of AI and all this other hocus pocus stuff — that all these videos and podcasts and interviews and other videos of people talking could somehow easily be transcribed automatically.
I have no doubt there are good things in the videos posted here and elsewhere, but it takes folks forever to get to the 30 seconds of good info. There seems to be a magic time frame they try to hit, perhaps for money reasons.
Many people read quickly, and they also work. They’d like the info, but not going to spend enormous amounts of time waiting on people who ramble on about a topic. I will often play a youtube vid at 2x and read captions, but if it were simply a transcript we could cut down the time to a couple of minutes and skip over all the “welcome to the show etc etc”
Another example is Neil Oliver. A transcript of his talks are great, because he is hard to understand (for me).
Perhaps some of the great minds here can suggest a way to all these video folks, warroom, whoever, to begin posting transcripts so we can actually get the point of what they are trying to communicate.

I have not used that feature, but it may be helpful.
I haven’t noticed if other video sites have this option. Will start paying more attention!
I do agree that, while I appreciate listening to some videos, there are times when I know that I could read the info faster than listening to it.
I usually leave captioning on on the TV. It is horrible. Sometimes so bad it is laughable. And it has major trouble keeping up. Usually just skipping long parts to catch back up.
