Roger Ailes and RFK Jr were best friends for 40 years. RFK JR tells the story about how he shared a tent in Africa with Ailes for three months in 1980 and they became very good friends and stayed friends.
Ailes even supported his activism with the pharmaceutical industry. In one battle RFK2 asked Ailes to do a segment on his battle with a certain pharmaceutical company over a harmful drug they sold. Ailes told him that as much as he wanted to air the segment Fox would lose the big pharma advertising which was 40% of Fox revenues and Murdoch would fire him.
