This conversation sparked my memory. Technically, it’s “Pork Roll”, since that’s what it was labeled by its mfr.
But back in the ’50s people (in my town at least) often referred to it as Taylor’s Ham.
Back in the very late ’50s my mother won a local (Baltimore) AM radio station’s call-in recipe contest for Taylor’s Pork Roll. She called in on a lark and read off a simple but tasty sandwich recipe that she had made up.
To her complete surprise, she won.
Here’s a clipped (no faces) photo of her holding the Taylor’s Pork Roll and the radio DJ who hosted the contest is holding an RCA Victor transistor AM-FM table radio that was the big prize. He actually came to the house with a photographer to award the prizes and have her photo with him taken. Zoom in and notice the label on the Taylors Pork Roll.

If you go out and get Pancakes (I love IHop’s) make sure to bring your own real Maple Syrup. Panacake syrup is high fructose corn syrup and most restaurants serve that because real Maple Syrup is on the expensive side for most restaurants.
I’ve been doing that for years and most zombie’s don’t notice anyway and I have only had 1 server ever ask me about it.
Just real butter for me. Keep all the syrup.

I chose to have a dumb flip phone and keep it powered off most of the time. It only powers up when I check the voice mail or when I have to make a call.

I do read enough to have an idea of which companies to avoid.
I’m sure you do and many do here. But we are a small minority. Spend 5 minutes in a Walmart. How many of those wandering around would make that effort.
For example, one could see the Skittles article and refuse to buy them. But if that person grabs M&Ms, they’ve done nothing. But how many people will take the time to research and memorize the dozens of other Mars brands. Heck, I’ve spent an hour just learning about Mars and I could still accidentally buy something from Mars.
I wish for a non digital world also, but that ship has sailed.

For example, ALL of the politicians who have supported/endorsed PDJT for 2024, have GOT to know that, should ‘the other side’ prevail, their careers are OVER.

Even if PDJT were willing to ‘forgive and forget’ as a matter of political expedience, MAGA will NEVER support Pence, RDS or ANY of these who are opposing PDJT, again.

It wouldn’t hurt to get some and keep on hand.
Just to be clear, fenbendazole and Ivermectin are different drugs.
Both are antiparasitics and sold OTC for animals and Rx for humans.
Both have been studied and indicate some success as cancer treatments.
Ivermectin has numerous studies showing effectiveness against covid. I have not come across fenbendazole as a covid treatment, but may have missed that somewhere.
A friend of mine takes it as a cancer treatment. Ivermectin once a week and Fenben 6 days. She started when diagnosed and has been cancer free for 3 years when they gave her 1 year with treatment.

Retired Magistrate here: It is time to start getting your home ready for Winter. Yes, I know it is August but here in the Midwest cold weather will be here before we know it.
So, take a look around your house. Check your windows. If it has been a while since you caulked you windows, it is probably time to re caulk them. Check for wood rot if you have wood windows and fix it before it gets worse. If you have peeling paint you probably have a moisture problem so time to put vents in or clean out the ones that you have.
Check the foundation around your house. Is it really wet? Check your gutters and downspouts. Leaking and improperly installed gutters channel rain towards the foundation and into your basement. You don’t want a moldy, wet basement for the Winter.
Have a wood burning stove or fireplace? Time to clean it. There are chimney cleaning tools available and if physically able you can do it yourself. Also, time to start cutting and stacking wood or if no wood is available on your property, check with neighbors to see if they have trees down. We have had a lot of storms this Summer and there are a lot of trees down and people want to get rid of the wood.
Get prepared for Winter. The government certainly isn’t going to help. In fact, they will do everything they can to try and make your life miserable. Don’t let them. Get prepared now. Stock up, talk to neighbors and make a plan if the power goes out to help each other. Put together your own tribe and remember, live your best life now.
Question remains will the promised rolling blackouts begin this winter? Will there be enough home heating oil, natural gas, wind and solar energy (🤣), to get through the coming winter?
Retired Magistrate here: Don’t know; we have home heating oil and are filled up. We also have a wood burning stove, two fireplaces and insulated drapes all over the house along with caulked windows. So, we are prepared as best we can. Oh, also have a lot of split firewood from trees that came down during this Summer’s bad storms.
I hear some people saying “oh, we have never had storms this bad before.” Of course we have. Happens every Summer. Unfortunately a lot of people live in an air conditioned cocoon and never go outside.
I live in south Texas and right now I’m in “an air conditioned cocoon” because it’s been in the 100s every day for weeks now and the real feel temps are getting into 110 or more in the afternoon. I go out in the early morning and it’s already in the low 80s! And the climate crises lunatics talk about banning air conditioning to save the planet!!! It gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter it’s called weather!!!
