The new ALA (American Library Association) president is Emily Drabinski. Recently, she described herself as a “Marxist lesbian.”
In her home state of Montana, the State Library Commission already responded, voting to cut all ties with the ALA. “Our oath of office and resulting duty to the Constitution forbids association with an organization led by a Marxist,” the commission wrote in a letter to the ALA.
Her sexual preference is not the issue. We care absolutely nothing about that.
But her extremism is a different matter and delegation of legislative power to a group run by a Marxist is intolerable.
That extremism is described in detail by The Federalist. “Queering the landscape of library publishing and scholarship” through taxpayer-funded libraries is central to Drabinski’s accomplishments. That particular accomplishment was widely cited by supporters in her ALA election, according to The Federalist, which also wrote that Drabinski’s videos “are replete with teaching other librarians how to ‘subvert’ and inject hard-left politics and sexuality into their publicly funded work.”
Radical extremism is apparently replete in the rest of the ALA as well, as both The Federalist and New York Post described. But some librarians are fed up with the ALA’s radical atmosphere, says the Post. It quoted one librarian who said, “It’s all about the ALA here. Librarians are some of the most dangerous people in society. They are very well-organized and they communicate very well. Libraries are lost. They are rotten to the core. So much money has been dumped into them by organizations with agendas.”

Except for a fancy bound copy of “1984,” all of my many books are on technical topics which, of course, makes them non-fiction.
However, upon further consideration, maybe “1984” isn’t fiction.

I have donated complete sets of fiction (different genres) 30–40 books by one author to senior centers and other places where people take, borrow, and or donate. I donate nonfiction as well. However, I tend to hord my nonfiction books.

As a retired MLS librarian at schools, public and university levels, it greatly disturbs me to watch what these places have become. Once places for great literature and learning, they’ve become centers for homeless to be counseled, children to be indoctrinated, and great literature to be “rewritten.,” ie: disappeared!
Wonder when the few taxpayers remaining will refuse new library levies?

Downtown Seattle, starting at least 25 years ago. Used to walk down to the library during my lunch hour. Could smell the homeless before rounding a tall row of books. They were invariably asleep at a desk.

The children’s department in a local library (in a rural area) has gotten rid of many of their children’s books (many SHELVES of them) – and, in their place, put an entire area for video gaming.
Also, LOTS of computer stations.

In my humble opinion, it (the library) has become a baby-sitting place for children after their daily government school attendance ends. Are children safer there than on the streets, or at a park? Who knows, especially these days.
And, it appears that actual READING is NOT being encouraged.
American society is paying – in ways that the majority of people don’t even realize – for the lack of parenting.

This has been coming for a long time. So sad.
I grew up during the ’50’s spending hours in our small public library. Back then, children were only allowed in the “adult” part of the library, i.e. where the grownups were, accompanied by a parent. Once I had read my way through the children’s collection, I would beg my mother to take me upstairs to the grownup section where I poured through biographies and history as well as classics.
I worked in public libraries on and off from the age of 15 until retirement at 65, and learned to love their place in the community.
The public library I knew:
In the early part of the 20th century when so many new immigrants were arriving from Europe, public libraries often served as places to learn English and learn about their new country.
Public libraries welcomed all, as long as you followed the “shhhh” rule, and were totally non judgemental, serving as a refuge and source of information for those needing a temporary escape from life, or the tools to navigate it.
For those who could not afford formal schooling, libraries fostered self-education.
Over the years, libraries embraced young children and recognized they could play a nurturing role helping parents be their children’s first and best teacher. I loved providing parent and baby story programs, modeling ways for parents to build pre literacy skills. It was amazing to note beginning in the late ’90’s that many new parents had no idea how to sing and play with their children!
I loved helping senior citizens learn to navigate the internet, help high school kids learn to evaluate the sources of information they encountered online and be critical consumers of information.
I loved helping people find the information they needed, from the corporate headquarters of a company they wanted to contact to the wiring diagram for their Chevy Malibu to how to grow tomatoes in the desert southwest to a current bus schedule.
My last year of work was bittersweet.
I could no longer communicate with coworkers, who were into Comicon and cosplay. Even business lunches evolved into trans and queer agenda items and the beginnings of the white privilege narrative (all of us were white, btw). Fortunately, I retired a couple years before drag queen story times became a thing.
ALA has always been liberal, but for many years maintained a policy of accepting all viewpoints and adamantly against censorship of any kind.

A beautiful Carnegie library was thrown away during Covert-1984. It is slowly being replaced with garbage. Yes, this is the current state of librarian education to replace even reference books for “not being popular.” Had to make room for more offices in the brand new library. I’m guessing they needed a coordinator for story time indoctrination programs.
Used to be a literacy tutor and taught English as a second language. Early on, the students showed up on time and I could see obvious progress in their skills. Later on, however, appointments were missed. No calls, no apologies. I stopped volunteering because of the no-shows. Maybe I was just a boring instructor:)

I will never forget the time, MANY years ago (25-30?), when I was in a Burger King in a more upper class suburban area of the Midwest. On their counter, was displayed their menu in Spanish. I can recall thinking, “WTH??!?!??”

Yesterday a dear friend told me she learned earlier in the day she has cancer, and asked if I’d be willing to be her medical advocate if her husband is unable to be there for her. I told her yes, and would need the same form for her as for my husband and me.

I have heard that Invermectin and HCQ which kills parasites, was effective in curing cancer as Dr Hulda Clark who was savagely attacked for saying that Cancer is caused by parasites and the cure was NOT going to benefit the trillion dollar cancer industry. I have heard a few cancer patients that took invermectin & HCQ for Covid had their cancer arrested/reversed. It’s something to consider trying or at least research. Yes, I’ve heard cancer is caused by parasites, too. As a matter of fact Joe Tippens at mycancerstory.rocks talks about how he had cancer, fought it with chemo and radiation, then was told he was full of cancer and to go home and die.
Instead he heard of a parasitic drug that works against cancer — fenbendazole — a drug given to dogs, sheep, cattle every day, a drug that used to be prescribed for humans. (Have also heard about HCQ and IVM being used for cancer, too!)

The “hearing” yesterday was one of the more-infuriating things I’ve seen on CSPAN….. ever.
The Democrats on the committee kept trying to deflect. It was all they had; any sort of question about the actual subject matter, that is Hunter Biden getting special treatment, was nuclear and they knew it. So they played the race card (how, exactly, do you do that when Hunter is white?) They tried to claim there were no receipts — which blew up in their face when MTG showed a literal receipt for an airline ticket and a picture of the woman it was bought for obviously giving Hunter a hummer while on said trip, yes, the actual human body part was blacked out but there was utterly no doubt what was going on.
That act, by the way, is federally illegal: The Mann Act dating back to 1910 makes it a federal crime to transport someone across state lines for the purpose of prostitution and carries up to a 10 year prison term upon conviction. That alone is enough for an indictment; it was passed to give the federal government tools to stop sex trafficking. Facially-sufficient evidence of said violation was produced in public during the hearing so where is the indictment?
On the tax side, which was the point of all this, the premise that this was “no big deal” and the attempt to conflate Trump’s organization and Ivanka’s dismissal from personal involvement went up in smoke as well. While Trump did indeed get tagged for tax violations the case related to the payoffs had nothing to do with taxes (he apparently did pay taxes on the funds) and he didn’t funnel the money through multiple, as many as two dozen, shell LLCs and other fake business entities that had no actual business operations. Hunter did, which is hard evidence of knowing criminal intent because nobody does that sort of thing to try to hide the transactions if there’s nothing illegal about what they’re doing. What Hunter did is exactly what organized racketeering and money-laundering operations do.
Then there was Raskin who repeatedly asserted that the 14th Amendment doesn’t exist. That’s right — that’s what he said, even though he didn’t say it that way. But the premise that a prosecutor can choose who to prosecute when he has in hand hard evidence of felony criminal conduct is exactly that; either we have equal protection of the law as the 14th Amendment requires or we do not.
Not that this “well if you’re a Democrat the law doesn’t apply to you” view is new; who remembers “no reasonable prosecutor” with Hillary and then, of course, a multi-count indictment for secreting classified information by a person who actually has the capacity while in office to possess it on an unrestricted basis where a Secretary of State does not.
Hearings like this are enough to drive you to start thinking not in terms of 1-6-3-0-9 but rather something akin to 1-7-7-6.
But facts intrude; there’s simply nobody doing a Committee of Correspondents these days is there? Certainly not; we’re entirely too consumed with terrible garbage programming on Netflix, faces glued to a little screen and spoon-fed whatever sort of nonsense remake of Snow Woke might get kicked up next.
Oh, and while we’re at it, The Senate has refused to affirm that indeed only Congress can declare war. Rand Paul tried to get that into the record and it was voted down — and not by a little either. Note that a Treaty, being ratified only by the Senate, cannot under the Constitution stand in as a delegation of the War Power as declaring war requires concurrence of both House and Senate.
What was the American experiment, a claimed Constitutional Republic, certainly appears to be dead.
And so is the spirit of the people who animated same.

So far, the Democrats have largely avoided any specific questions on the specific allegations. However, the “look squirrel, squirrel” tactic is hard to maintain as a distraction. That is particularly when you have two respected experts saying “felony, felony.”
I thought the hearing went well. The frustration about the uniparty liars has always been present.
Normally, there would be smear attacks like the ones they threw at Taibbi and Shellenberger, or efforts to discredit the receipts.
Those smears did not happen yesterday.
The Dems were reduced to “Trump Trump, Trump” and hplaying a very weak race card – so weak that the young black congeresscritters who were assigned those speeches came off as as almost insane and walking in a world with a purple colored sky far from this one. What matters is that picture of Hunter Biden violating the Mann Act. You could tell it threw the Dems off their game.

Dissecting the New Fauci E-mail
I see why it was censored…..
There’s a lot to unpack here, so let’s take the points in order.
First, Fauci admits that there are “mutations in the virus that would be most unusual to have evolved naturally in the bats” and “there was a suspicion that this mutation was intentionally inserted.” This email is sent at the VERY START of February 2020 — and already he knows these mutations probably didn’t occur naturally. (That’s important for later.)
This theory is furthered by the next point that Fauci admits: The lab at Wuhan is doing gain-of-function research on bat viruses so they can more easily infect humans. Back in February 2020, Fauci knew exactly what gain-of-function research was and where it was being performed. It was only a year and a half later while in front of Congress that Fauci could no longer define gain-of-function research. (He just knew he never did it, honest!)
After taking this information into account, “some of the scientists” thought the lab leak was the more likely explanation, but “two others” felt that the virus could have occurred naturally — “even though these mutations have NEVER BEEN seen in a bat virus before”. (Emphasis mine)
Now, the email isn’t exactly specific about a number when it says “some of the scientists”, but it clearly says “two others”. Therefore, I think it’s reasonable to conclude that when it came to covid origins, NOT ONLY WAS THERE DISAGREEMENT IN THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY, “NATURAL ORIGIN” WAS ALWAYS THE MINORITY OPINION. Yet Fauci and the Censorship Industrial Complex swooped in and banned anybody who suggested the virus leaked from a lab. (Right up until President Biden suggested it. Then — like magic — the rules were changed.)
They threw people off social media left and right while shrieking “FOLLOW THE SCIENCE!” — the same science that we now know was AT THE VERY LEAST divided on the issue.

But….wait for it! They will do everything in their power to deny us those forms of entertainment. Happy will be the person who has kept their own libraries of these treasures because treasures is exactly what they will become.
I use to have a tote full of VHS movies but no longer had a VCR to play them. The changing in technology tends to makes movies stored on any device obsolete. If I can’t find a replacement when my DVD player breaks down, all my CDs will also end up being obsolete.
My books, acoustic guitar and harmonica will be around long after the latest form of movie storage is made obsolete. I have a good supply, a lifetime supply of strings for my guitars and I’m still adding to it.
You can convert the obsolete media into the current media. I had all my home movies (tapes) converted into DVDs. And DVDs can then be copied to memory sticks and saved to hard drives.
There are resellers on Ebay who pick up working VCRs at garage sales and sell them online. One guy, Commonwealth Picker, does this a lot.

In a June 10 Tweet, Elon Musk, the embodiment of the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, declared that “ESG is the devil.”
ESG stands for the “environmental, social and governance” principles which dictate that certain aspects of a company’s work must be taken into account when deciding whether to invest in it. An investment-worthy company must have a good score on things like climate change, sustainability, energy efficiency, diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as corruption and bribery prevention, among others.
Musk’s outburst was sparked by the shockingly low ESG scores assigned to Tesla by S&P Global, a ratings and market intelligence heavyweight. Tesla earned 37 points (out of a possible 100, where anything above 70 is considered “good” and anything below 50 is deemed “poor”) on its ESG scorecard while Philip Morris, the global tobacco giant, received a commendable score of 84. Similarly, as the Washington Free Beacon discovered, the London Stock Exchange gave British American Tobacco a score of 94.
Perhaps, lighting up 20.3 billion tobacco products daily worldwide does wonders for the environment and sustainability.
The ESG turnabout wasn’t entirely unexpected. I had even published a recent analysis on how the World Economic Forum (WEF) and its factotums would ultimately take the fall for our crumbling liberal-globalist order. Musk is just one among a growing number of stalwarts to turn their backs on the global ESG train wreck. Insurance behemoth Lloyd’s of London recently announced that it was exiting from the net-zero alliance for insurers, and it was the sixth such organisation to do so within a week. There are good reasons for this shift. For starters, hundreds of ESG managers were stung by the recent collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, that had prioritized woke agendas over the security of its depositors.
The ESG agenda effectively forces firms to sacrifice business logic in favor of liberal lunacies marked by gender dysphoria, pseudo-diversity and climate militancy. As banks promoting this mania get bankrupted, one wonders how ESG initiatives are going to be funded down the line. Investment behemoths like BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street (aka Big Capital) are leading the global ESG rollback. The trio manage assets worth $22 trillion worldwide, amounting to a quarter of the global GDP, and they can no longer pander to socialist pies-in-the-sky. Big Capital thrives on trillion-dollar profits, not trillions of social media soundbites and hissy-fits.
Punitive threats, like the following prediction from KPMG, will not faze Big Capital: “By 2030, poor performers [will] have been weeded out and consistent non-compliance will be met with severe consequences including penalties, public naming, a prohibition to operate and even imprisonment. The C-Suite and Directors will now be personally liable for ESG breaches.”
Does anyone really believe that the Big Four (Deloitte, Ernst & Young (EY), KPMG and PwC, the world’s largest accounting networks) will agitate for punitive actions against their sacred cows? Big Capital virtually owns them. Even the British government plans to drop its flagship £11.6 billion climate pledge, prompting an infuriated Guardian to accuse Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of “betraying populations most vulnerable to global heating”.
Incidentally, KPMG had provided Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank (another failed entity) with a clean bill of health just weeks before their collapse. Neither the professorial definition of The Science nor the science of accounting added up in these cases. These champions of sustainability are also unable to sustain themselves as they have begun firing thousands of employees.
Here are five big reasons why the ESG agenda is doomed.
1. Renewable chimeras
Renewable energy – a cornerstone of the ESG agenda – is not as clean, eco-friendly, efficient or as sustainable as advocates claim it to be.
In the area of battery technologies, science policy analyst David Wojick had deduced that the “grid scale storage” required to replace fossil fuels with wind and solar power in a “net zero” United States would cost $23 trillion – matching the nation’s annual GDP for 2021.
Apart from its unsustainable costs, the renewables ecosystem is also harmful to the environment. Solar panels contain a toxic mix of gallium, tellurium, silver, crystalline silicon, lead and cadmium, among others. It costs an estimated $20 to $30 to recycle one panel while only $1 to $2 is needed to consign the same panel to a landfill. It is a similar story with millions of tons of decommissioned wind turbine blades which themselves contain toxic materials that are leaching into the environment. Ironically, wind power is heavily dependent on oil and its byproducts throughout its production-to-operation lifecycle.
The net energy return on investments (EROI) from “renewable” sources remains abysmal. If and when proper recycling protocols are mandated worldwide, the renewable energy sector will collapse overnight. The growing affordability of EVs has less to do with government subsidies and more to do with the fact that only five percent of their batteries are recycled. And batteries constitute just one component of a highly-unsustainable renewables ecosystem.
2. Human rights abuses, poverty and food insecurity
The EV boom is significantly fueled by underpaid, underfed and underaged cobalt miners. Cobalt is an essential component of lithium-ion batteries and nearly 70% of global supplies are mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As Amnesty International reports, nearly 40,000 children slave away in these mines under the most appalling conditions. Perhaps they were energised by Greta Thunberg’s warning in 2018 that the world would end in 2023 unless fossil fuels were banned in toto? The embarrassing Tweet has since been deleted but the world did end for “hundreds, if not thousands” of Congolese children. Likewise, Glencore, a major player in the Congo cobalt sector, has deleted all contents from its dedicated ESG webpage.
One wonders whose childhoods are being stolen in a hypocritical and unmistakably racist global ESG regime? Third-world children will also reel from ESG-dictated reductions in Western farm outputs. Ireland and the Netherlands, among others, are planning to cull millions of livestock in order to “meet emissions targets” and “save the planet.” The science behind this madness was conjured up by the usual suspects such as KPMG.
A reduction in meat supply will create seismic imbalances throughout the global food ecosystem. The demand for plant alternatives such as pulses will skyrocket, tearing ever bigger holes in the pockets of vegans and meat-eaters alike. Meats sold at taxed mark-ups will be infused with mRNA vaccines. In the meantime, the WEF has a solution: worms, maggots and insects as a dietary option for the poor.

With the ESG gravy train trundling to a halt, freeloading activists may escalate their direct actions.
A group called Just Stop Oil and affiliate eco-anarchists are now vandalising fuel pumps when they are not gluing themselves onto roads and disrupting football matches. They have even vandalised the wax effigy of Britain’s climate monarch, Charles III, at Madame Tussauds museum in London. Coincidentally, Charles III – echoing Thunberg’s dire predictions in 2018 – has just launched a “climate clock” which gives humanity only six years before a climate armageddon. But here is the irony of ironies: Just Stop Oil is funded by the Climate Emergency Fund (CEF) which in turn received donations from Aileen Getty, the granddaughter of oil tycoon Jean Paul Getty.
Once the bottom of the ESG pork barrel is scraped threadbare, the ensuing anarchy will be off the charts. Anarchists may even turn on each other. A recent “pride parade” in London was railroaded by Just Stop Oil activists. It was Woke vs Woke!
As far as Big Capital is concerned, these anarchists have reached the limits of their usefulness. Social upheavals and lockdowns worldwide have enabled Big Capital to gobble up small and medium businesses at rock bottom prices. But if the current bedlam in France serves as a precautionary lesson, pre-emptive measures will be sought against the “savage hordes of vermin” who were once lionized as social justice warriors.
BlackRock has already assigned extra security measures for CEO Larry Fink and President Robert Kapito “over growing concerns for their safety.” They know what lies ahead.
4. Anal science
Eco-anarchists who regularly invoke “The Science” somehow miss the low hanging fruits. One such ripe picking is in the area of toilet paper production and usage. A staggering 15% of deforestation in the United States alone is attributed to tissues that allegedly aggravate the global climate crisis with “every flush”. Despite this data, one has yet to hear of a single toilet paper stand being targeted by eco-anarchists anywhere. Timeless artworks by Vincent Van Gogh and Monet, on the other hand, are deemed offensive.
Eco-anarchists are just not interested in practical solutions. Bidets, for example, can drastically minimise toilet paper demand and deforestation. Furthermore, the bidet is no longer a resource-dictated compromise in the Third World. It is prevalent in technological powerhouses such as Japan and South Korea where the bowls are replete with hi-tech features such as volume, speed, temperature control, air-dryers and sometimes even music. Italy and France have a long bidet tradition as well.
But the science of bidet is too passive and workable for the anal anarchist. Agitprop professionals can only make a living through public theatrics; not by quietly switching habits in their private spheres. Emotionally damaged and/or cerebrally challenged children grow up into destructive adults. That is the wellspring from which anarchists emerge. Therefore, do not expect Thunberg and her ilk to call for sustainable hygiene habits – even as countless monies are flushed down the toilet on drag queen shows and gender dysphoria curriculums in schools. I just can’t see Greta yanking out toilet rolls from Swedish schools because they are stealing her childhood.
In any case, she is too busy promoting Ukraine’s eco-friendly war arsenal these days. As for the child slave miners of Congo, “let them eat cake” as Marie Antoinette once said.

There is a geopolitical dimension to Big Capital’s U-turn on ESG. Resource-rich sub-Saharan Africa is tilting towards the BRICS bloc, in particular China, even as the West implodes from within. A new generation of African leaders are ganging up to free their nations from the shackles of the West, IMF, World Bank and even the United Nations.
An alignment with the BRICS bloc will have to be accompanied by military, intelligence, and economic support as the West will not go down without a fight. The choice between either bloc should be a no-brainer for Africa. Western priorities are on LGBT rights while the East wants to capitalise on Africa’s critical infrastructure, education and agriculture needs in return for resource extraction.
Shrewder African leaders can even play up intra-BRICS rivalries, particularly between China and India, in order to get a better deal over priority projects. Big Capital, which owes no allegiance to any nation in particular, may likely join the bandwagon by tempering criticisms and sanctions from Western capitals. This is Africa’s opportunity to lose.
Policy traps for the emerging world
While Big Capital dials down its social justice commitments, much of the emerging world will be stuck with ESG-dictated policy commitments and grant allocations that will rapidly lose relevance in a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) world. The ESG agenda may have started off with good intentions but like similar initiatives, it has been thoroughly hijacked by vested interests. Leaders and technocrats in much of the emerging world were likely swooned by the promises of a bold new ESG-fueled global economy. According to one estimate compiled by Bloomberg in 2021, global “ESG assets are on track to exceed $53 trillion by 2025, representing more than a third of the $140.5 trillion in projected total assets under management”.
Those mammoth assets, where they exist, may be appropriated to rebuild smouldering Western cities after this decade is over. But then, who knows? $53 trillion can also be channelled to create a digitised global medical gulag for our “collective safety”. ESG scores for corporations may be replaced by social credit scores for every individual. In that case, the previous 30 months may have served as a trial run…

Believe it or not we’re still within the geological time frame of the Quaternary and the last ice age might still be happening. Scientists divide the Quaternary into two parts the Pleistocene Epoch and the Holocene Epoch. The Pleistocene is what we think of as the Ice Age. It lasted from the beginning of the quaternary to about 12,000 years ago. It ended when Earth warmed and glaciers retreated. Since then we’ve been in the Holocene Epoch. Its main features are higher average temperatures around the globe and higher sea levels compare to those during the Pleistocene, but and here’s a mind-blowing thought, we may just be in a warm lull in the overall colder Epoch. The interglacial periods of the past few hundred thousand years have been around 10 to 30,000 years which the Holocene is comfortably within suggesting that the entire Holocene might just be another interglacial interlude. In other words we might see glaciers again covering much more land mass than today.
