(Databases & machines are hacked & tracked in real time… showing who voted & didn’t vote; so fraudulent ballots could be printed & filled out for those who didn’t vote, which are then given to the NGOs to distribute to the ballot boxes. The last step of distribution was shown in the “2000 Mules” documentary. Dr. Frank says the ballot box stuffing is a symptom of the fraud. The real fraud took place in the machine. Insurance is based on risk. Capitalism is based on profit by private business owners. No company should be forced to take on bad risks resulting in loss of money. Folks who want to purchase properties in high risk areas are responsible for the consequences that come with it. As long as the insurance companies honor their existing contracts and pay the claims under said contracts, they have fulfilled their legal obligations. If a company decides to “pull out” of an area or increase the premiums, they have every right to do so and, in fact, have been doing that for years, whether it’s high crime cities, coastal homes, flood zones, hot rods, etc., it’s all about risks and business. It seems that all the attention to the Florida insurance market has a political agenda.

The problem is “where is the ‘high risk’ area”.
Plenty of people have lived in Florida for decades who are not that close to the beach or not themselves on a parcel of land that can flood, but are being made to subsidize coastal properties as well as those in areas where the risk once was spread out but now is geometrically increased because of crowded new developments.

Having lived in NJ for years, our rates also bore the costs of our coastal losses. Stossel did a piece on it decades ago. Our auto rates similarly bear the costs of the unisured drivers. Currently, our health insurance premiums were driven sky high in order to cover the “pre existing conditions”, so I understand. I agree that the higher risks should be the ones to pay the higher premiums, but we have socialized insurance and it has been going on for decades. Can it be corrected? yep, will it be? nope. Imagine asking a diabetic to pay more insurance premium than a healthy person. We talk a good game but we aren’t willing to live it.
My primary point is that insurance companies are free to do business where they choose. Unfortunately, we no longer live in a free and competitive market so there’s not much chance of a new company springing up, willing to take risk and having the freedom to sell a true insurance product. Government regulation took care of that.
If only FL had a “never back down” kind of governor and a republican legislature to address that inequity. They could take on the “fight” with Big Insurance and remedy a problem. ///

I live in Central Florida, about 60 miles north of the Tampa bay area… I purposely avoided flood areas, the beaches, and other high risk areas when i purchased my house… Furthermore, I live in an area that has never had major hurricane damage…
This Central Florida area is about as low-risk as is possible, yet in the past two years, my insurance premiums have almost tripled…
In effect, those of us who choose to live in low-risk areas are forced to subsidize insurance premiums for those folks that choose to live in costal locations or in flood zones…
The question is: why not increase premiums for those folks that live in high-risk areas only? Why a “blanket” premium increase that includes those of us that live in low-risk areas?
Insurance companies can themselves fix this problem if they so choose…
If the Insurance companies choose to continue as they are now, we should be able to count on our “governor” to fix the problem… Except for the fact that he is busy playing politics presently and doesn’t have time to take care of Florida Citizens.
I believe my points on “socialized insurance” is what you are now seeing in Florida. It isn’t new. It’s regulation and equity driven by lobby and govt. You have affirmed the political slant by invoking Desantis. Every ill in Florida and beyond is Desantis fault. TDS has mutated to DDS.

Many of Florida’s problems could be fixed by the “governor” and the Florida “legislature”., but instead of doing their jobs in Tallahassee, our “governor” and “legislature” are AWOL and care not if Florida Citizens are having to “weather the storm”…

we cannot overlook the reality that insurance companies have also taken into consideration climate change…..and so that is something new we have not seen before…the claim is that recent intensification of storms, floods, droughts, hurricanes, tornadoes is somehow related to climate change MODELS…predictive models based on very dubious science. So it’s worth criticizing insurance companies who are engaged in that kind of manipulation also.
in my state, louisiana, a HUGE number of insurance companies ran away right after two back to back hurricanes in 2020…leaving homeowners with nothing.. TURNS OUT, insurance companies were never properly capitalized PER LAW in my state and the commissioner refused to renew licenses to operate unless these companies could show they had sufficient underwriting capitol. Bear in mind, INSURANCE COMPANIES WERE ALSO GIVEN BILLIONS DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC ALSO. What happened to all that money?
I have a bad experience with insurance companies…it’s not only about risk management. There is plenty of vanilla flavored fraud that goes around. There was of course no serious investigation by our state assembly into matters of how these insurance companies prior to covid and the twin hurricanes, laura and delta were even allowed to operate. TURNS OUT…insurance companies are big d0nors in our state…I would expect the same thing is true for Florida (and all other states as well).

Thank you. You raise several other factors in the mix and there is no doubt in my mind that the insurance industry has been corrupted at every level. It all starts with government oversight sold to us as “consumer protection”. Like everything else, we pay for it.

Remdesivir killed my Uncle Anthony in a NYC Hospital. They wouldn’t even let his son and daughter visit him and both were NYPD. Stuck him on a ventilator and gave him Remdesivir. His kidneys shutdown and he died. The FDA knows it’s a kidney killer but they did the approval to prempt the lawsuits against the Remdesivir manufacturer!
That’s how these people work!

Darned if I understand. The thing I was upset with in the riots was the lack of law enforcement, arrest and accountability.
