I had the same problem, so created a new favorite with the nitter.net instead of twitter.com and saved the new link in favorites. Going down the list of twitter favorites now to save those, and if twitter doesn’t fix its mess will simply delete those twitter.com saved links and will only use the nitter.net saved ones – that is, until Truth Social figures out how to truly become the open public square twitter pretended to be (that is, not require people to sign up in order to read and/or share).

Don’t twitter either, but what you’re describing happened to me several months ago with facebook. I don’t facebook, but was always able to open the more “public” pages like restaurants or businesses. Then one day it all was blocked and message was that I needed a facebook account to open, which I refuse to do. It is related to google because I have some ability to open pages when I use Duck duck go. We’re being controlled and shuted to where they want us and mindlessly plodding along.

State of Eastern USA Observations After Two Weeks of Travel:
Recently, Jack Posobiec challenged his Twitter readers to travel out 500 miles (or so) from where they live and ask themselves if they think the state of the nation is good.
Are we spending enough on our roads instead of sending that money to Ukraine? How are the people you see? And any other observations.
So I traveled from my Ohio home base first going to Chicago for a large trade show.
What did I observe?
Indiana: highways 70 and 65 get beat to absolute hell and there’s some construction going on but you feel like it’s just a nickle tossed in an ocean of work that needs done.
As far as U.S. cities go, Indianapolis is in pretty good shape as you drive through. The highway near downtown is new, the city skyline looks nice enough, and there’s lots of warehouse growth to the NW and east of Indianapolis.
Stopped at a Speedway gas station Northwest of Indy off 65. Dirty, smelled of cigarettes and a couple drugged out looking very thin young adults in the 20’s or 30’s were wandering around the parking lot.
Illinois: Ugh. The often times overdone stories from Conservative Inc., media about how bad Chicago is are….true.
The highways rattle your teeth with bumps and potholes despite a high percentage of toll roads. Terrible.
The scenery….except for the downtown skyline and Lake Michigan which remains beautiful….but the rest of the city is a drab and sad mixture of truck sales dealers, junkyards, landfills, warehouses, and old buildings.
The McCormick Place convention center is the biggest in the USA and needs renovation from it’s drab early 1990’s look. The men’s room was the 7th circle of hell. There’s only one restaurant at McCormick Place…. Connie’s….and it’s like getting sorta bland but hearty Midwest style Italian food served to you by the 3rd world.
Overall the people in Chicago are in a funk. They seem beat down, unhappy, depressed. Pissed.
Everything is expensive there, no one seems happy, traffic is brutal. The roads suck.
I then left Chicago to drive to Wilmington, North Carolina immediately after the trade show.
You already got the Chicago and Indiana report so we will jump ahead to:
Ohio: I-70, 670 and US 33 were in pretty good shape, well paved, and the state has invested there with more plans to do so.
Driving through Columbus is like Indianapolis. For a major U.S. city, it seems in pretty good shape. Nice skyline, roads are decent, lots of warehouse growth and trendy development ala the “mixed use” projects.
Southeast Ohio below Logan on 33 is sparse. Very few cars. Remote. Lots of trees, rolling hills. Ohio has earmarked money to finish making 33 a four lane highway to the Ohio River.
West Virginia: One of my favorites in the USA. Nicest people, good attitude when you engage with them. They can talk! A lot. Lol.
Ravenswood has some stereotypical Appalachian poverty in a very rough looking trailer park near the bridge over the Ohio River.
The West Virginia turnpike is in really good shape and you’ll pay $17 each way to help maintain it.
77 north is a bit rough outside of the turnpike north of Charleston.
There’s hope for America in West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana despite all attempts by DC to crush it. Indiana gets growth from Chicago but also pays a steep price with all the traffic from Chicago.
Virginia: very short 70 miles on 77 through far SW Virginia. Road is good. Mountains are beautiful. Drivers are bad and clueless causing backups in said mountains and tunnels. Too many Cleveland and Akron drivers going north to go home drive like clowns.
North Carolina: beautiful state. Tons of growth from Winston Salem over to Raleigh. Tons of traffic and construction. North Carolina is going aggressive to try and keep up.
The area south of Raleigh to Wilmington is my favorite. Pine trees and farmland before the beaches of Wilmington.
Wilmington seems to be in good shape and most people are friendly while others seem to keep to themselves.
Bottom line:
Red states matter, are better, and the “service economy” has built warehouses all over.
There’s hope in some places.

In other words, Americans for the most part are continuing to live good lives despite the chaos in DC and some state govts. This is a reason, one of many, why many people are still ignoring the looming thunderstorm coming at them. They are still ok, in fact better than ok. Will they be smart when it comes to voting? Maybe they recognize the controlling forces coming down on them and will vote accordingly. Maybe they are concerned about elections being stolen and will come out in record numbers for primaries and the Pres. Election next year. Maybe the silent majority IS paying attention and we will see them activate for 2024. Or not.
This is the same conversation I have with my sister. Some people aren’t hurting enough to react/act to what is occurring.
Maybe… hopefully.

As an initial matter, it is not clear why James’s race is the only factor that could encourage UNC to admit him; his status as a first-generation college applicant seems to contextualize his application. But, setting that aside, why is it that John should be judged based on the actions of his great great-great-grandparents? And what would JUSTICE JACKSON say to John when deeming him not as worthy of admission: Some statistically significant number of white people had advantages in college admissions seven generations ago, and you have inherited their incurable sin?

I trust an Indian medical doctor educated in a good medical school in India over an American black doctor educated in a medical school in America. Both doctors are considered POC so I’m not racist. The sole reason is “affirmative action”. Lingering in the back of my mind is did this black doctor get special treatment getting into college, getting through college, getting into medical school, getting through medical school just to meet some arbitrary diversity quotas? In all my different encounters with various orthopedic dr.’s, pain management hustlers, and unplanned visits to the ER, I have never seen a black doctor in the flesh. Granted I haven’t been worthy of insurance since 2008, so I only go seek medical attention when absolutely necessary, Florida seems to be short on melanin gifted doctors. I have had excellent black nurses during those unplanned visits to the hospital.

A less charitable description would be that low interest rates have induced ordinary citizens to buy things that they cannot afford, take on long-term debt, and risk their financial futures on business start-ups that may well fail. Sometimes those risks pay off and produce rags-to-riches success stories. When interest rates suddenly rise, however, they often end with unpaid bills and the eventual bank seizure of those cars, homes, and business assets. A central bank’s easy money programs momentarily increase consumer ownership and small business creation before inviting financial distress and repossession as rent, payroll, inventory expenses, and other fixed costs increase.
During the “boom” side of the cycle, central banks produce a lot of momentary “winners” and increase overall national wealth by encouraging consumer spending and inflating the currency-denominated value of assets. During the inevitable “bust” side of the cycle, however, the real winners emerge when the super-wealthy scoop up a bankrupt population’s primary assets for pennies on the dollar.

The whining has been continuing on NBC for almost 30 minutes, constantly emphasizing the 3 female Communists’ MINORITY opinion.
Now the reporters are whining about the debt-forgiveness for Student Loans which The Manchurian Marionettte’s regime wants: they are afraid the debt-cancellation will not be upheld.
“The states do not have standing to bring this case” says one reporter.
My sons, who paid off a combined $200,000 in debt in 2 years by working at the excellent positions they obtained through wise degree-choices (Mathematics, Computer Science, Financial Engineering) and by living with us for those two years to pay everything off quickly, definitely have standing in such a case!
If it is upheld, they expect checks for a refund!
Just in: the two students who sued “lack standing,” a unanimous decision.

The set of states which are suing, state of Missouri in particular, has standing and the law does NOT permit debt forgiveness.
Mass debt cancellation was not intended by Congress. If Congress wants to cancel debt, Congress needs to pass authorization.

I think that if you’re a average 18, 19, 20 year old man single guy who’s even remotely athletic who wants to be tested, wants to accomplish something in life, wants to join a an elite organization and he looks at what’s presented to him in these commercials and what he sees, he says thank you but no thank you, I’ll go somewhere else.
I mean as soon as we started telling everybody and this started by the time you know even in the 90s and we saw it begin in the 70s, frankly, this is a long process of what I call rot, if you say that little Susie over there who weighs 90 pounds or 110 pounds is just as good as Bob who’s six feet tall and weighs 220 and she can do everything he can do and there’s no difference, good, you’re going to get a lot of Susies, but you’re not going to get the other guy.
Saying that, well, there’s no reason why they can’t be in combat. I had an exchange with a senator when I testified before the Senate armed services committee air land subcommittee and he said well Colonel MacGregor I don’t hear you mention women on the battlefield very much. Are you opposed to to women in combat? I said yes sir. He said well, why is that? I said five thousand years of recorded military history. You can imagine that didn’t go over very well.

I’m sure that that will have a deleterious impact on the Air Force.
