The Lessons Of ‘Woke’

Its simple when you get down to it: Only two things work; terrorism and concerted and continual pressure.
One is of course rather illegal, but arguing it “doesn’t work” is false. It most-certainly does work. Is the TSA gone 20+ years post-9/11 or do we have all the theater when attempting to board an airplane when in fact not one prohibited item was brought on any of those planes that day? Was the intent of the terrorists to screw up air travel forever and ruin it? Who knows — but it sure did, and it’s only gotten worse since.
Never mind the various mass-shooters (terrorists by any reasonable definition) who have stated their intent to stoke gun confiscation which nearly-always does indeed lead to attempted gun control laws: Several have stated exactly that in their “manifestos.”
I rest my case.
But the other effective means of change is legal concerted and continual pressure. Musk just found out about this when his so-called “no-censorship of legal speech” platform decided to censor “What is a Woman”, a rather interesting film.
Musk attempted a mealy-mouthed half-answer which was not a refutation of the act at all, when you got down to it.
The people were having none of that and in fact upped their protest.
He dropped it and the person allegedly responsible “quit” (who knows if they actually quit or were fired) and then, in an act that actually made amends, he promoted it himself with a tweet.
How about Canada? Trudeau thought he’d try to extend derivative punishment to those who were sending money to protesting truckers. What he got in response was the start of people pulling their money out of the banks and he quietly dropped it. In fact that was beginning of the end of the crazy over the virus in Canada.
That’s how you do it folks.
Its the only way “protest” works and that path — ruining someone’s sales or other business prospects by withdrawing your business from them on a mass-basis and over time, not as a one-off but on a long-term or even permanent basis — is both peaceful and legal.
No firm can pander to 0.5% of the population while angering any material percentage of the rest. Its stupid to do it in the first place but many firms seem to think its not, or they have so-called “big investor groups” that pressure them to do so. Never mind that such “pressure groups” are arguably committing racketeering; the simple reality is that while some investment group may issue all the demands it wants they don’t buy the products and services so if the customers tell the business to pound sand they have no choice but to cut it out.
The same, by the way, applies to things like mandates.

Boycotts don’t work. People have short memories, poor impulse control, and are too easily manipulated. Case in point: the NFL, which has for the most part recovered from the disastrous kneeling debacle. They didn’t repent. They pretended to go pro-military and paid off the protesters. Some small % still doesn’t watch (myself included), but their viewership has recovered.
How many people are back to buying Coke and flying Delta? I’m certain I’m in the minority here, too.
And Twitter. And Fakebook.
And in a year or two people will be back to drinking Budweiser. Because A-B can afford to sell that pi$$ for 12 cents a can just to sucker people back. They’ll paint flags with F16’s and tanks on the cans to get the rest.
If we’re going to use our most powerful weapon – economic sanctions – it will require leadership and focus. Find a target, focus on it, remind people that the goal is to destroy the company, and give them tools to stick with it.
If they don’t believe we’ll destroy them, they’ll take a few quarters of profit hits, and then it’s back to destroying us all.
It’s because we don’t take the opportunity to inform the public more deeply when these things happen. They know they are angry enough over the trans guy on the can but do not know of the widespread plan of woke and how this will continue. They think boycotting this one company is enough ….in the short run…..We have no organizer nor organization…..We should use this example where there is widespread support and attention to promote organization and explain the why.
I Pray in Jesus’ Holy Name with infinite Gratitude for inspiring the mass-public support required for coming to this TRUE woman’s defense in her persecution over rejecting a mentally delusional male inside her workplace changing room/bathroom – because SHE was the one arrested, not the mentally delusional male transvestite. I thank all of Heaven & Earth for vindicating this TRUE woman’s authentically Divine Right and need to defend herself, and for giving this TRUE woman Divine and Earthly Justice. Yes. This is Noem’s “Learn to Code” moment. She made it sound so easy to “just go get another job”. I was 60 years old when my town harassed and shamed unvaccinated. All of the employers in my industry required a vaccine to get HIRED. Who wants to hired an unvaccinated 60 year old?
Noem put the burden on employees to go somewhere else. She basically affirmed that employers can force a medical treatment on a current employee who may be one or two years away from getting their pension. But, hey, just go get another job.

“Long ago, William Blackstone wrote that “the law of the land…postpones even public necessity to the sacred and inviolable rights of private property.” The Framers embodied that principle in the Constitution, allowing the government to take property not for “public necessity,” but instead for “public use”.
Defying this understanding, the Court replaces the Public Use Clause with a ‘Public Purpose’ Clause (or perhaps the “Diverse and Always Evolving Needs of Society” Clause), a restriction that is satisfied, the Court instructs, so long as the purpose is “legitimate” and the means “not irrational”. This deferential shift in phraseology enables the Court to hold, against all common sense, that a costly urban-renewal project whose stated purpose is a vague promise of new jobs and increased tax revenue, but which is also suspiciously agreeable to the Pfizer Corporation, is for a “public use”. I cannot agree.
If such “economic development” takings are for a “public use”, any taking is, and the Court has erased the Public Use Clause from our Constitution, as Justice O’Conner powerfully argues in dissent. I do not believe that this Court can eliminate liberties expressly enumerated in the Constitution and therefore join her dissenting opinion. Regrettably, however, the Court’s error runs deeper than this. Today’s decision is simply the latest in a string of our cases construing the Public Use Clause to be a virtual nullity, without the slightest nod to its original meaning. In my view, the Public Use Clause, originally understood, is a meaningful limit on the government’s eminent domain power. Our cases have strayed from the Clause’s original meaning, and I would reconsider them.
Though one component of the protection provided by the Takings Clause is that the government can take private property only if it provides ‘just compensation” for the taking, the Takings Clause also prohibits the government from taking property except “for public use”. Were it otherwise, the Takings Clause would either be meaningless or empty. If the Public Use Clause served no function other than to state that the government may take property through its eminent domain power “for public or private uses” then it would be surplusage. (James Madison: “It cannot be presumed that any clause in the constitution is intended to be without effect”).
The Public Use Clause, in short, embodied the Framers’ understanding that property is a natural, fundamental right, prohibiting the government from “taking property from A and giving it to B.”
Yet today the Court tells us that we are not to ‘second-guess the City’s considered judgments” when the issue is, instead, whether the government may take the infinitely more intrusive step of tearing down petitioners homes. Something has gone seriously awry with this Court”s interpretation of the Constitution. Though citizens are safe from the government in their homes, the homes themselves are not.
The deferential standard this Court has adopted for the Public Use Clause is therefore deeply perverse. It encourages “those citizens with disproportionate influence and power in the political process, including large corporations and development firms” to victimize the weak.
The Court relies almost exclusively on this Court’s prior cases to derive today’s far-reaching, and dangerous, result. But the principles this Court should employ to dispose of this case are found in the Public Use Clause itself, not in Justice Peckham’s high opinion of reclamation laws. When faced with a clash of constitutional principle and a line of unreasoned cases wholly divorced from the text, history, and structure of our founding document, we should not hesitate to resolve the tension in favor of the Constitution’s original meaning. For the reasons I have given, and for the reasons given in Justice O’Connor’s dissent, the conflict of principle raised by this boundless use of the eminent domain power should be resolved in petitioners’ favor. The concept of the Founders was relatively simple.
Poer corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
So, the divided the powers of Government up as much as possible, in the hope, and with the intention that the inherent grasp of power, between the various factions would inhetently be a check on the accumulation of absolute power.
Congress, charged wit legislative power, is not only “checked” by the other two branches, but by being two houses, with different powers, so that each would contest for power, keeping the other in check.
In reality, 4 individuals control all of the power of Congress; the ‘minority’ and ‘majority’ leaders of both Houses.
Rather than contesting each other for power, they realised that by joining together, they could have far more power.
Is the vast “administrative state” largely created by Congress, REALLY a part of “the Executive” branch, or has it really become more of an extension of the LEGISLSTIVE branch, enabling the legislature to actually usurp powers of the executive, while maintaining the ILLUSION of a “seperation of powers”?
Sure, Congress can’t, DIRECTLY enforce the law i.e. arrest someone. But if they unofficial direct the FBI to round up over 1000 citisens on made up charges, and unofficially countenance and direct the DOJ to prosecute, the effect is the same.
HOW can we even HAVE “3 Co-equal branches of Federal Government” when one (Judicial) has lifetime appointments, the second (Legislative) thru ‘gaming the system’ effectively has the same, and yet the 3rd (Executive) has 8 years max. term limits.
Rather than pointless calls for term limits for Congress, I would argue repeal the 22nd, as a bad idea that hamstrings the Presidency.
Many have coined the term “the Imperial Presidency” and advanced arguments that the Executive has aquired too much power, BECAUSE they are focusing on the power of THE ADMINISTRATIVE STATE, which they (mistakenly, in my view) associate with the POTUS.
POTUS “can’t fire” the career buerocrats, can’t hire administrators (without going thru the abused “advice and consent” process which amounts to the Senate dictating who he can and can’t have) and it is CONgress that detirmines both the budget for departments, and the compensation packages of buerocrats.
And, thru “oversight” it is CONGRESS, not the President, that can “discipline” and even has the threat of impeachment over administrators.
But,….they “work” FOR the POTUS?
I think there is no longer a Process Cure for this Tyranny, made even worse by modern technology. But there is a Cure:

Reading that, it is a strain to understand what he is saying. This proves to me how poorly educated we are.. I would have to read it more than once just to partially understand his speech. How sad.

One of the more chilling aspects of life has come and yet was told of over 2000 years ago in a book. This latest in a bunch of snotty nosed rich white punks are doing is short of phenomenal, to say the least. I did not think it was good though. We are seeing the systematic destruction of the Christian faith in Western Civilization. One by one major Christian institutions are folding under “woke” pressure and calls for the destruction of all things Catholic and Christian for the “crime” of being a “white man’s” religion. Where are the Christian leaders speaking out on this? Instead they bow to the wokeness of their guilt. Observations of the Good Americans.
Well into year 3 of a life free of the Good Americans of my former family. I now stand and observe from the outside as the sickness mutates.
The “good Americans” now are pretending they did nothing wrong; they’ve shed the face diapers and dropped the lectures about the unclean and how we’re killing granny. They now move and talk as if none of their evil took place, let’s all just pretend and move on.
And the non-fascists are desperate to do the same. They’re all eager to put it behind us, it was a bad time, but now it’s done and let’s move forward. Not that any of them say it out loud. And it isn’t that the same leftist BS isn’t still being crapped into their midst from time to time and they then go stomping off, shocked and angered that yet again they’re being lectured by scum. But after the ferocity of the previous couple of years, the old levels of leftist scummery is easier to “ignore”. I see the efforts on both sides to pretend it didn’t happen. And I know that I’m the sand in that gear box. I’m the guy who won’t let it go, who won’t pretend, who won’t move on. Which is not true at all. I’ve offered to move on.
Sincerely apologize, atone for what you did and convince us that you can be trusted and we’ll move on. But as you know, none of them will do that because they all believe desperately that they were in the right. They all do the “I was not a fascist polka”.
I can’t stomach the situation. I was really not comfortable around any of them this year. (annual event) I can hang with some of the sane ones and have a good time, but the degree to which they are all eager to just pretend none of the past happened is really dismaying. Last night I read the CTH post about the new movie on child trafficking. I watched some of the interview with Jim C on Warroom. And he’s absolutely correct that it’s the middle third of society that is the most to blame. Not fair perhaps, but in ways it is fair. The middle third (more like the middle 75%) are determined to not see, to not hear, to just move along and pretend and hope the evil will go away. The middling muddling sheep who go along to get along. The sheep who “don’t mind putting on a mask if it makes others feel safer”. The middle of society who won’t be bothered to ever speak out against the evil, much less take any concrete actions. To be honest I doubt I’ll take any concrete actions on that issue either.
I do think though that I have a responsibility to stop pretending. I don’t have the stomach for the pretending. I lived that life, now long past, not even aware that it was happening. I wasn’t pretending when I lived it, I was conned. I was endlessly compensating for the insanity of another in my life. I didn’t realize it, but that’s what it was. I was trapped in an enabling role for a truly sick soul. Now I see the same thing playing out on a larger stage, 90% of Americans all trying to pretend that it didn’t happen and that if we just don’t discuss it and if the non-fascists just forgive and move on then the fascists won’t ever do it again. It won’t work. It never works. Fascists are scum. They will always abuse every bit of power they can grab. They have proven they can never be trusted. They have proudly proclaimed their willingness to push us into cattle cars to be shipped off to camps. Why the hell can’t the sheep believe them?

Oxitec this week announced results of the first open-air study of genetically engineered mosquitoes in the U.S.
The U.K.-based firm described the results as “positive,” but said, “Larger tests are still needed to determine whether the insects can achieve the ultimate goal of suppressing a wild population of potentially virus-carrying mosquitoes.”
The company’s self-reported results are not yet independently confirmed or peer-reviewed.
Oxitec, the recipient of a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) for “self-limited mosquito field trials,” in April 2021 launched its pilot project in the Florida Keys.
The company completed the first stage of the study with the release over seven months of nearly 5 million engineered Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.
The pilot study was conducted under an experimental use permit issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It was the first to be approved in the U.S., though the company has since received a permit to conduct a similar experiment in California.
Reporting this week on Oxitec’s announcement about its Florida results, Nature stated:
“Wild A. aegypti mosquitoes can carry viruses such as chikungunya, dengue, Zika and yellow fever, so scientists have sought ways to reduce their populations. Oxitec’s engineered males carry a gene that is lethal to female offspring.
“If all goes to plan, when released into the environment, the engineered males should mate with wild females, and their female offspring will die before they can reproduce. Male offspring will carry the gene and pass it on to half of their progeny. As each generation mates, more females die, and the A. aegypti population should dwindle.”
Oxitec’s pilot project in the Florida Keys involves releasing up to 1 billion OX5034 mosquitoes — the first genetically modified (GM) mosquito approved for release in the U.S — in Monroe County over a two-year period.

Oxitec in August 2021 received an experimental use permit from the EPA to release mosquitoes at a second study site spanning several California counties, and is constructing a research and development facility in California.
Grassroots groups concerned about the proposed California project said there are zero local cases of diseases transmitted by A. aegypti in California — and very few nationally — and no studies on the ability of GM mosquitoes to reduce the transmission of disease.
The groups also accused Oxitec of “corrupt, backdoor political lobbying” to receive EPA approvals, claiming the company “has repeatedly lied to the public [and] refused to produce information requested by the public and independent experts,” has a “concerning history of misrepresentation or failure,” and made “purposeful efforts to cover up those issues and attack … researchers who publish unfavorable findings.”
The groups also claimed a solution to mosquito-borne viruses already exists: the Wolbachia-infected mosquito, “a non-GMO biopesticide mosquito,” which has “a proven record of success.”
Other environmentalists described Oxitec’s pilot studies as a means for the firm to maximize profits, instead of an effort to eradicate mosquito-borne disease.

This whole “fight” between DeSantis and Disney seems to be staged, political theater put on to bolster DeSantis in the eyes of Republican voters. The lawsuit between the two is moving at a glacial pace.
