Perhaps it’s the Ron DeSantis national pretending 2024 campaign driven by a “book tour.” Perhaps it’s the international travel that distracts a sitting governor from supporting a Republican candidate in the largest geographic metropolitan area in the state. Whatever the reason, the Jacksonville Florida mayoral contest was won by a Democrat, Donna Deegan.
I have warned, against some of the most vitriolic pushback, that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is setting up the state of Florida for some major problems in the future. There are lots of granular points that I can reference, but the bigger picture they create is one that will be very damaging in the future. The class division in Florida, the distance between the haves and have-nots, is growing exponentially.
Lower and middle-income Floridians are being crushed as the ‘Instagram selfie-my-lunch’ crowd, the largest coalition of support for Ron DeSantis, ignores it.
Believe me on this, DeSantis Republicans representing the financially elite and being condescendingly dismissive of the non-elite, is not a path to future Republican electoral victory. From my perspective the backlash is visible. It only takes a few thousand voters staying home in protest to make a difference.
Those same enforcement police, newly empowered with tools against ANTIFA woke protests, will hold those same tools when it’s Joe the plumber protesting his economic status.
JACKSONVILLE – Democrat Donna Deegan won the Jacksonville mayor’s race Tuesday night, a shocking upset that hands Florida Democrats a major shot of energy less than six months after they were trounced in the 2022 midterms and considered left for dead by the national party.
Deegan came into Election Day as the decided underdog against Republican Daniel Davis, who is the head of the city’s Chamber of Commerce and had a significant fundraising advantage. He was endorsed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, but that support was lukewarm. DeSantis did not do events with Davis or put his political muscle behind his candidacy.
With all of the city’s 186 precincts reporting, Deegan had a 52% to 48% advantage over Davis, who was vying to replace current Republican Mayor Lenny Curry, who was term-limited. “Everyone said it could not be done in Jacksonville, Florida,” Deegan said, according to video of her victory speech. “We did it because we brought the people inside.” (read more)
Ron DeSantis has checked-out of his job in Florida. A tiara dreaming Casey DeSantis is measuring the drapes in the White House. The billionaire donors are pumping them both up.
The Florida middle class is being destroyed at the fastest rate in the state’s history. The lower socioeconomic group is looking for snorkel extensions, and the illegal alien workers, who support the lifestyle indulgences of the affluent class, are being targeted for removal.
The class divide in the state has grown more in the past three years than the quarter century that preceded it. Wokeism is not a priority when you are struggling paycheck to paycheck to survive.
Keep in mind, Donald Trump is a major employer in the state. President Trump, a very generous employer to all of his people, can see the struggle and pain on the face of his Trump Inc. employees. This is not some esoteric political issue for those being impacted.

Talk about pretending! At this point in the pretending game, let’s call them what they are: “selections” as opposed to the illusory “elections” of yesteryear

Ron Paul was the rightful Constitutional heir to POTUS. Not the euro blue blood Romney nor the manchurian traitor McCain.
I live in Tampa and cheerleader Ron keeps saying, “come on down,” to Northerners who are bidding up the price of housing to the point where a lot of people will be moving out of state soon, because they will no longer be able to afford living here. He has never done anything about the hedge funds that come here with free money and snatch all the properties up with all cash offers. Then they rent them out. Rents go up even during recessions. Soon, Democrats will be pushing “affordable housing” and rent control and get elected doing so.
Exactly as it happens in CA.
And Texas. Abbott courts California libs who then turn around and vote against him. What a dummy.
FL was run by developers/realtors before DeSantis arrived and will be run by developers/realtors after he departs the political scene.
^^^THIS^^^
A truer statement could not be made Phillip.
Only, now he has managed to expand the power of the Mouse as a developer without bounds. Pretends otherwise, as usual.
Joe the Plumber does not have the leverage to find cheap loans, ultimately supported by the Federal Reserve lending. A hedge fund does no incur personal loses if the business goes bad, but Joe the Plumber does. This is unfair competition against the middle class that is supported by the elites in D.C. The law should be that if you are a millionaire and you buy houses, if your business fails you lose your personal money, just like Joe the plumber. But as it is even the FDIC/Yellen are bailing out their rich friends in the banks failures recently. All your tax money is being used to destroy you. Many governors are turning a blind eye to this, including DeSantis.
My friend sold his home to BlackRock on Davis island. I met a man that works with a hedge fund that moved all 250 employees to Miami from NY. 50 of them make 10+ million a year. I just sold my home in Parkland Estates to downsize. Our neighborhood has completely turned over. Lots of black tennis shoes walking huskies. Lots of money from out of the country as well. Bigsmall city Tampa is growing too fast with no light rail.
My husband and I were in Florida almost 40 years, we left 2 years ago and moved to Tennessee. Insurance, insurance, insurance and traffic, traffic, traffic made us seek greener pastures. Insurance & traffic are FL’s biggest problems and they’re getting worse.
I shutter to think what will happen when a monster hurricane forces an evacuation of the entire state.
I think I would shudder, not shutter ! oops.
Actually shutter works!
I lived on Florida’s Space Coast for most of the period from 1979 to late 1991 (courtesy US Air Force) and witnessed the state’s population more than double. What a horror show regarding roads, traffic, water, utilities, etc. Impact fees possibly helped a teensy bit here and there, and most definitely deepened the pockets of many. It showed the shallow thinking (or total lack of) among many state and local guvmint entities who seemed completely oblivious to the effects of too-fast growth until it slapped them in the face.
Sad thing is Stupidity is not a political party, (like no-fault insurance) it is massively prolific across all demographics.
You are one of many! IN this last year, a realtor friend had EIGHT clients in a row from FL, buying in TN. TN is the way America used to be, and I hope you will work to keep it that way.
Tennessee will be next to get ruined. Nashville is unrecognizable to the beautiful, uncrowded city it was when I lived there 30 years ago.
He is trying to ATTRACT RINO/Globalists so he can stand off the sane citizens of Florida who are now working against him.
I thought from the very beginning a Desantis challenge to President Trump will eventually turn Florida blue. Or at least an ugly shade of purple. If that happens the Garbage Party will never hold the Oval Office again. Which may be the intent all along- of both scumbag parties.
Oh, I pray not. I didn’t want to, but was thinking the same. DeSantis doesn’t even care. I have called his office number in Tallahassee for over a month. All I get is can’t leave message. He’s NOT working for the people who voted him in on
re-election. Because, he’s too busy working on his future futile endeavors 🙁
Dee they turned off the voicemail 2 years ago.
DesAntis is actively eworking AGAINST y ou. He replaced your health care bill with one that was only about Covid – which “expired” just days after he signed it, and he signed an “election integrity law” that made machine voting mandatory, and hand-counts or challenges to process or results, only available to state officials. lol! THEN, there is the bill that he just signed that hides all of his travel a nd visitor records. He is not going to answer you…he has already shown you who he is.
Adam Putnam would have beat him. Gillum almost turned Florida Blue.
Orange Man Red carried the purple revivalist over the finish line.

The Top ‘Trump Backstabbers’
https://rumble.com/v2nxd20-john-fredericks-lists-the-top-trump-backstabbers.html
Putnam was solid establishment so, under the circumstances, Florida Republicans had a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea when it came to that Governor race.
So frustrating.
The Uniparty wants a new dumping ground for illegal aliens they’re bussing/flying in, and Florida provides a nice warm climate that the illegals are accustomed to. You’ll soon have 5 maids at one time cleaning your hotel room; 3 cleaning, 1 stealing your stuff, and 1 in hallway as lookout.
What I don’t get is how the Meatball plans to convince loyal Trump voters not to vote for Trump (which would have to happen in order for the Unfrozen Caveman Governor to win the nomination).
He doesn’t have to convince MAGA with Dominion on his side
Sure it is people staying home in protest, or is it the new American immigrants escaping the North?
With the Election that close, who’s to say it was a fair one?
Democrats lie, cheat and steal elections like they breath in oxygen.
Desantis is controlled by the uniparty wing – republicans.
His goal is to not win but work to defeat President Trump in a national election.
.
Democrats also exhale co2, therefore are dangerous.
Ban those climate killers and bury them at sea.
🙂
What an ingrate. He owes his entire governorship to Trump.
Both.
I went to vote at my Jacksonville precinct yesterday. Was pissed off because of the candidates, demonrat (Deegan) and rino (Davis). Jacksonville has been changing into a s***hole for several years now. To my surprise, the voting precinct was almost empty. A lot of people did not vote.
And, I have a family member who does job interviews. She told me most of the newcomers she has interviewed have bragged about being demonrats, most from New YUCK City and some from FREAKFORNIA. Of course, being arrogant and stupid, they came to Jacksonville to vote for demonrats like the ones who destroyed the places they ran away from.
If elected, rino Davis would have tried to finish the destruction of Jacksonville, but demonrat Deegan will do it faster. That is the only reason I voted for rino Davis. He would have been slower, that would have given us a chance to fight back. Demonrat Deegan will quickly turn Jacksonville into another S***cago, New YUCK City, or San Freakcisco. My entire family and me are planning to move out of here if it becomes possible for us to do so.
https://tomwigand.substack.com/p/backsliding-on-election-integrity
Spot on. Paper ballots, no bar codes, no machines to “read” ballots, one 24-hour voting day, “requested with verifiable ID” absentee ballot for a VALID reason, counting by hand, in your PRECINCT only. Winner announcement that evening. No heads up to news organizations, who will suppress the voting for “their opponents.”
Depressing.
Guy can you seek refuge in a surrounding county? We’ve been invaded out here in the burbs by the covid refugees and would appreciate some backup! I watched half my street turnover🤯 NY, NJ, CT tags and get this TWO liberal households from TX of all places🙄 What are the odds?
The covid refugees are everywhere and are definitely bluing us.
Texas is almost a 50/50 state now. The rural areas are the only thing keeping us in the red and Abbott keeps urbanizing.
Don’t leave out Obama. He sent David Plouffe to Texas in 2012 to formulate a ground game plan to register voters to ‘turn Texas blue’.
Yes.
I was five years old when my dad packed up the family in northern Ohio and moved to northwestern Missouri in 1961. Been here ever since and I may not be that fond of the winters but I’m as far from the coasts as I can get and I live in a community of survivalists, ie, Amish. I’ve been watching the trajectory of states like Florida and Texas, concerning illegals and I’m just glad that I’ve never moved. Missouri’s nullification of BS ATF rules is a road map for other states to follow on our path to succession.
Sundance is one of the, if not the best, voices on the entire web, concerning governmental and political corruption. He’s usually way ahead of anyone else on sniffing out the scumbags.
He’s been my go to source for all things political since around 2004 I think.
Thanks, Sundance, for all your efforts.
Missouri seems to have a great AG which helps too.
Out of Jacksonville or out of the state of Florida?
Out of Jacksonville.
Most popular bumper sticker in the 80s-early 90s when I lived there: ‘Heart’ NYC? Take I-95 North.
PS: Same thing has been happening to NC since around 1980, although not at such a massive scale as in FL.
I remember that. Also saw a guy with a t-shirt that had that on it 👍.
The UniParty repugnicans are the real traitors.
Fabulous Article! Totally Priceless. Every Single Tidbit!!! Just Too Precious!!!
Well finally Sundance agrees with me, as I was the first person to develop the equation on his site: Jeb! + Cruz = DeSantis.
Nah, I said it years ago and got abused for it. Different username though. I saw through him right off. I had hoped Trump could find a way to keep the guy grounded but it was a long shot.
My take on him was that at least his win would slow the Dims for a little bit. If his opponent had won it would be even worse.
The illusion of choice…
Elections were rigged for the left AND the right. That put Desantis on the map.
This is a brilliant and astute observation.
Yes
Soros is still trying to get his radical DA’s elected. Allegheny county is Pennsylvania’s 2nd most populous county behind Philadelphia county. Allegheny County had it’s off year election primaries on Tuesday. The Soros backed candidate Dugan defeated the long term Democrat DA Zappala in the primaries.
Pennsylvania has closed primaries so you have to be registered in certain party to vote for their candidates. In Allegheny County the Democrats outnumber the Republicans by a 2 to 1 margin. These Democrats have no idea what they’re voting for, but what do you expect from people who voted for a dead guy for state rep in the 34 district or Fetterman for that matter.
The Republicans are trying to get Zappala registered in the upcoming election as a write in candidate. Zappala might be a Democrat but at least he’s one of the sane ones. If Dugan gets elected then you can look for Pittsburgh to become a major cesspool of crime just like Philadelphia.
When is someone is going to do something to rein in the terror of Soros? Everyone knows he is the root of all the evil
I read yesterday that Soros is on his deathbed. I don’t know that it matters much because I hear his son is just as bad or worse.
Right. Soros is way too old now to be orchestrating anything. It’s his evil kids running the show now.
We have a word that describes a “sane liberal”.
That word is “conservative”.
When I visited my brother in Tasmpa, I saw the growing gap between haves and have-nots. I thought of moving down there, but I decided against it. One, even if I got a small house out in the sticks, I’d have to take a mortgage after selling my present home. Why would I want to take a mortgage when I don’t have one now? Why would I have one in retirement Then, I’d have to fix up the new place. Plus, there’s the matter or hurricanes. I was like, nah, doesn’t make sense.
I remember how, on Twitter, I’d warn people about moving to “the free State of FL”, becausice the Dems could take back power. I issued the warning because, prior to DeSantis’ convincing reelection, he’d barely won; not only that, about half a million PRs moved in, which could easily tilt the majority to the Dems down there. I told anyone moving there, even from places like MI, that they might be jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
Specifically, he beat an active meth head opponent by .04%, and that was WITH Trump’s endorsement.
A degenerate meth-head sodomite was the opponent Ron Deep$tatist ‘defeated’ by .04%…
This would be funny if it weren’t so tragic.
I’m done pretending DisHonest is a great governor… I’m done pretending he’s a Republican.
Deegan came into Election Day as the decided underdog against Republican Daniel Davis, who is the head of the city’s Chamber of Commerce and had a significant fundraising advantage.
——-
I think I see the other problem with the Republican candidate. The CoC is, like the GOPee (establishment eunuchs), the enemy of and dead to MAGA Republicans.
Or, as Sundance so brilliantly distilled years ago: Wall Street vs. Main Street.
Davis is a rino. There was one true Republican in the mayoral primaries, Al Ferraro. RDS endorsed Davis and also endorsed Jason Fischer for Property Appraiser and both lost to former JAX TV news anchors. FYI – Jason Fischer had originally announced a bid for the District 4 Congressional seat, as had Cord Byrd. Fischer was promised the Duval Property Appraiser gig and Cord Byrd is now Fl. Sec. of State. Aaron Bean slid into Congress unopposed.
I live here. Some observations about the area and this race:
Deegan is heavily supported by staunch liberals and leftists;
Deegan got crushed running in her bid for Congress to replace RINO Rutherford just a couple of years ago;
We recently had a former FBI official who was a mayor step aside from running again for mayor in one of the beaches towns (Atlantic Beach) due to rising discontent with her policies and demeanor. A long time local conservative won barely against the former FBI mayor endorsed candidate. However, they tried to pull that mail-in/absentee ballot crap to sneak the establishment candidate across the line well after the election but it didn’t work and this is a ‘purple’ area;
The Jax city council is 19 Rep to 5 Dem;
We just had a new Sheriff elected who is Republican.
Deegan (D) won 52-48%.
The preceding Jax mayor won 58 to 42% in the last election;
Are we supposed to believe the city/county swung 10 points in 4 years? No freaking way. I work all over town due to my employment. All you hear is Trump!
Jax/Duval is predominantly R;
Unconfirmed info is that Deegan is supported by Soros money;
DeSantis has never cleaned up the voting machine issue;
I fully believe that Deegan won due to the VOTING MACHINES!
If correct, how will this bode for Trump in the primary?
BTW, many of us here are STUNNED!
4.5 million absentee ballots filled out where home security systems can see you fill in the bubbles on your ballot with that days newspaper and a drivers license that happen to be on the table?
Ditto that on the voting machines in Duval County / Jacksonville; I recently wrote in my Substack on that very subject:
https://tomwigand.substack.com/p/backsliding-on-election-integrity
Nice article.
Thanks!
30 years in Jax, knew the town well before moving in ’15.
Sic transit gloria the ‘no name group’. Got old while their kiddies got infected with white guilt – the ‘lesser sons of greater sires’.
The fact the Navy’s (the 800lb gorilla in that town) gone marxist woke should have been better appreciated.
Non-group gaffer, it’s the non-group. Haven’t heard that reference for decades. They were most definitely a group though, a star chamber or shadow government is more like it. Oh the stories I could tell.
You are absolutely correct about them and their progeny. I moved out of Duval 25 years ago, but still in the area.
But can you just imagine the awesome GayPrideDragQueen party
that can be held on the deck of an aircraft carrier?
Imagine the possibilities!
Agreed.
The reality is that Davis probably won, and the Dems cheated via the machines to change the voting result to a Dem win.
I would add to your data that Davis was also a very poor Repub candidate.
He is a RINO who is anti-trump.
He was supported by the former mayor, who also is a RINO and anti-trump.
Trump was never asked to support Davis, and did not help him.
Davis was primarily supported by Desantis, who is also a RINO and anti-trump..
If there was no fraud, and the loss is legit,. Then the reason for the loss is that Davis chose the wrong people to be supported by.
If Davis had been supported by Trump, he would of won.
Good points but he Davis was supported by the local Chamber of Commerce. I do business with some of the companies they represent. The few that I have spoken to are amazed and NOT happy!
The COC is globalist.
Not to be trusted.
Very interesting…thank you for posting this information.
I’m just a little south of you, down in Lee County, our Supervisor of Elections (Tommy Doyle) loves voting machines. He recently spent around $250 million (IIRC) on new voting machines for our last election in 2022 and has no desire to talk about going back to paper ballots…he will be voted out during the next election.
DeSantis is friendly with Dominion executives and has no intention of cleaning up the voting machine mess, he does not know the word Audit…unless it affects his election.
We have their evil twin, ES&S
John Rutherford is not a Rino.
Why are the handlers letting ron! enforce eVerify now?? He tried to do that in 2018 and the Chamber of Commerce, the construction lobby, Big Ag (especially Horse Country) and the Hospitality Industry had a five alarm freakout and we never heard another thing about it. I have railed about this for a while now here. Then I read about a year ago r0n! had signs put in on the Interstate highways saying Florida is an eVerify State (but only for State contracted jobs). That is BS because I see illegals working for the subcontractors all over the place.
This will backfire (like everything ron! does) because too many industries here thrive on undocumented slave labor. The rednecks who used to work construction have been pushed to the point of extinction. For decades they have been under bid by outfits with a roster of disposable human employees ready to work all day for pennies on the dollar. The Oxycodone Tsunami that began under jeb!’s watch decimated much of the rest of the indigenous lower/middle class Cracker workforce, all by design. IMHO. Now this “anti-immigrant” legislation from ron! and BushCorp. will be a rallying cry for the Leftards to flood us with even more unregistered throw away people from points unknown who may or may not have a grasp on civilized behavior.
MAGA 👊👊🙏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️
I live in Jacksonville Florida and I’m part of that middle-class living paycheck to paycheck discussed above and I’m terrified 😢
I live in the middle of nowhere west of Ocala where the cost of living was something Middle Class folks could manage and I am watching our way of life vanish as well.
I am probably just a few miles from you NW of Ocala.
Up until 3 years ago the cost of renting a room for a working student for a barn or college was $500. It’s now north of $900.
It’s unsustainable.
I have watched bidding wars for swampland that will flood every year so folks from South Florida fleeing up and Northerners and Commiefornians fleeing down and across can bulid houses on concrete pillars! I thought i was smart fleeing Orange County in ’14 to a hill in the middle of the floodplain. Get ready for the SunCoast Parkway if you haven’t already!
First, RDS has now lost his fiefdom in Florida; Kemp has retained his fiefdom in Georgia. RDS has no INTERNAL “machine”; Kemp does. Also, people in Florida forget about hurricane recovery events real fast and how the government did or did not respond to the emergency and who was in charge of the government at the time. Citizens Insurance continues to screw homeowners, and where does that hate end up?
Second, take crazy Nikki Fried and over-recycled Charlie Christ out of the last blue primary and general election and insert a Miami-Dade class (corrupt) individual with a recognizable Hispanic surname on the Cloward Priven ticket and RDS would not be where he is. Fact–Hispanics go right down the ticket and look for surnames. The Gillum/BLM/NAACP gig is over for the most part down here–see Val Demings for further details.
Third, the density of welfare service centers in Florida cities (or any city) determine how much they will beat you in elections. FLA = “Service Economy”. Those that don’t have a lot of skin in the game will out-ballot those that do. (Mentioned in comments…voter apathy/low turnout and white flight fit right into their game). The level of poverty in JAX exceeds that of Fulton Co. GA–I posted the JAX demographics yesterday as a hint.
Finally, the dead elephant party has nothing to offer normal service class people here. Insane Nikki Fried won the Department of Agriculture over a real rancher because she promised legal weed to the central Florida and Keys dopers (which she couln’t do in the AG position), and “clean water” to the Gen M and Gen Z and elite pearl-clutching coastal condo people and other douchebag metros. What do the elephants do? Harp on woke/ghey/trans that everyone outside the cities just ignore. How about food and gas and housing prices, Jebs?
Jacksonville has had just 4 Republican mayors since 1888, so I’d hardly say this was something earth shaking.
Recall that it’s a different Democrat Party now. Today, it’s a stealth Communist party.
Proceeding as planned.
If he had stayed home and worked his state, that election loss could have been averted.
But but but….he *had* to make “book tour”.
Mind you, no one will ever know where he went, since he signed into law his cloaking device.
Democrats lie, cheat and steal elections like they breath in oxygen.
Desantis is controlled by the uniparty wing – republicans.
His goal is to not win but work to defeat President Trump in a national election.
Desantis pretends as other fake politicians.
Yes he has done some good things for florida but he also has done some bad things that have flown under the radar.
The mix and match bag of the desantis agenda works out to be a big negative for people who live in florida.
Presidnet Trump called desantis:
Disingenuous
: lacking in candor also : giving a false appearance of simple frankness
Calculating
: marked by prudent analysis or by shrewd consideration of self-interest : Scheming
disingenuously adverb
disingenuousness noun
All of the above terms describe mr Disingenuous.
In the two weeks leading up to the election there was scant to no Republican advertising; very little get out the vote mailings.
Deegan advertised heavily. Her advertisements were all “feeling” based bereft of any real substance.
The flip side is Jax will reap what it sews. The downtown area – save for medical facilities – is essentially avoided by the huge surrounding area within Jax city limits.
Yep. I used to drive to and from work by going through the downtown area. Now I avoid it and use another route that is 7 miles longer.
Downtown is not safe, has not been safe for a long time. Full of stupid self centered demonrat idiots.
philip, for example. Several years ago, there was an idiot who jumped from a sidewalk at night, laughing, in front of cars on the road in order to make them slam their brakes. Then he would slowly walk back to the sidewalk while laughing. Finally, the idiot got run over and died.
When I found out about it next day, I called the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, they recorded the conversation… I identified myself, then told them what I had seen the idiot do to me and other peaceful drivers. Offered to testify under oath. The JSO officer who answered my call told me “Not necessary, sir. More than 30 drivers have called us and told us exactly what you told me, which exactly matches what the driver involved in the accident told us. Do not worry. The accident was obviously not the drivers fault. He will not be charged.”
Jacksonville is no longer the nice, quiet place I first saw in 1978. It has turned into a s***hole. Even nice, quiet people who were born and raised here have told me they want to move out.
And Deegan will complete the destruction of Jacksonville.
“Believe me on this, DeSantis Republicans representing the financially elite and being condescendingly dismissive of the non-elite, is not a path to future Republican electoral victory.”
Just my opinion but that quote is their purpose for DeSantis in causing winning for the Dems.
Uniparty. There are not two, and the uniparty is heavy with everything anti-life these days. Satanic actually.
J’ville is the second-largest city in America with a GOP mayor. (Or was.) Right behind Ft. Worth, TX. Now they have a Dem. From what I’ve heard, the Repub was no prize, but this shouldn’t have happened.
RDS backed a Chamber of Greed candidate & he lost?
Shucks… it’s almost like conservatives have figured out who the Chamber of Greed represents. Or something…
She’ll run Jax into the ground, and Desanctimonious could care less.
The DeSantis “is a big winner” drums beat so loudly that all the Fox watchers in Jacksonville were overcome with complacency.
Or maybe he isn’t a winner.
Dominion and the vote counters allowed DeSantis to win because Karl Rove runs him against Trump. So they did not steal this election like Dixon, Zeldon others. And to be able to say elections are up & up because a republican(rino) won
I said that all along. With the 2022 Election there was bragging about how Florida stopped election fraud. HOGWASH!!!!!!! The Swamp selected DeSantis. If they didn’t want him the machine would have made sure he didn’t
Mike Lindell agrees with you, Osage!
Lindell was on the War Room (not sure the exact date but in the past few months) sharing that he and his people looked at the Florida 2022 election data and what they found reflect a selection –particularly in one county –think it was Dade County.
Since that point, Lindell has called out DeSantis as dangerously corrupt and is completely against his candidacy.
its not that I disagree with the points made, but the incessant focus on Desantis bad and Trump good is getting old and, quite frankly, revealing. I can only speak for myself, but red flags go up when there is never any criticism about one person and only continual bashing of another.
It reminds me of the stupid Rep. vs Dem that we hear daily on the MSM- it’s just a distraction. Like Daniel Horowitz says: the democrats start the house on fire, and the republicans block the firefighters from going on.
Example: The carbon capture pipeline story out of the Dakota’s is so dumb words fail me. I don’t know where it’s currently at, but what I do know is that no one talks about it. While we and most others I know yap about about Trump, the progressive machine continues to pound away on the sidelines. These issues catch on in states, and then spread like a disease. Hopefully the Dakotas can stop it.
There is no saving the federal government. Of course may the best man win, but the only hope is the governorships and state push-back.
Trump and Desantis could unify the majority of the country by promoting this idea and teaching the sheep that the federal government sucks.
https://www.argusleader.com/story/news/2023/02/09/carbon-pipeline-bill-clears-the-house-floor-in-victory-for-landowners/69888916007/
Tell me what I’m missing, but we haven’t even addressed the vaccine issues or gain of function, which is now restarted with fresh funding. Oh who cares I guess, just give me an excuse to chant USA and hate the democrats, and I’ll gladly give up life, liberty, and the pursuit.
There is a reason for why they never changed to paper ballots and one day elections.
The selection can’t be controlled otherwise.
Excellent analysis. The RINOs and Cruzbots running the DeSantis ‘campaign’ aren’t just going to ruin DeSantis, they are going to turn FL purple in the process.
Let me play the contrarian role here for a bit – (anybody from FL or Jacksonville area can chime in, please)
Is there any sure bet that if gov. DeSantis physically showed up and campaigned with his endorsed candidate, Jacksonville would have elected the R as mayor instead? Wouldn’t it be more true for president Trump’s claim that “Ron’s magic is gone” if he DID campaign for Daniel Davis and still lost the election?
[This is not to excuse gov. Ron Meatball at all, just a simple question.]
But it is very callous for the FL governor to endorse some one then totally abandon him, thinking his re-election glow/coattail would be enough.
Wanted to say “But it is very callous for the FL governor ….”
callous AND arrogant
I live in Jacksonville. There was a particularly nasty war at the primary level with the Rinos taking no prisoners in their quest to install Daniel Davis. Conservative Republicans were infuriated. Many did not vote in the mayoral race. Serious, long lasting damage may have been done.
Thanks. Esp. for your local insight.
Head of the Duval GOP, himself recently selected to the FL house, dropped the ball in this race. It was only within the last couple of weeks he realized, probably via internal polling, the race had tightened and scrambled to put together a get out the vote effort but it was too little too late. Add that to the tepid endorsement from AWOL Governor and Donna is the Mayor. You can thank Dean Black, misogynist extraordinaire for the current situation in Duval. The one grassroots Republican candidate for JAX City Council, Mike Gay, won without any support from Duval GOP; they supported the rino.
My 2 cents. I don’t believe DeSantis was much of a factor in the mayor race. I just don’t think his endorsement pulls much weight. His poll numbers are tanking. He’s 45 points behind President Trump. DeSantis’ endorsed candidate in the Kentucky governor race this week just came in third.
In Florida, he also significantly trails President Trump. As much as DeSantis likes to say his race is about the GOP “winning,” he is not looking like a winner. So he wouldn’t have strong coattails for other Florida candidates.
From what other Jacksonville residents on this thread are saying it sounds like the biggest factor in the mayor race was that the voters didn’t much like the Rino who was running and stayed home.
Who the funk is voting democrat still?
Or choosing not to vote for a Republican candidate forced on them by a GOPe they have come to despise. Can they hear us yet?
Dominion, Hammer&Scorecard and stuffed ballot boxes.
Perhaps it’s the Ron DeSantis national pretending 2024 campaign driven by a “book tour.” Perhaps it’s the international travel that distracts a sitting governor from supporting a Republican candidate in the largest geographic metropolitan area in the state.
Or perhaps its blue state migrants turning where they move first to purple, then blue?
Just one more indication that America is going down. The parasites from the northern states bring their destructive politics with them and eventually will kill the host, Florida.
That’s why the Blue States destroy themselves. Their followers flee to the Red States, and know most will still vote Democrat. CA and NY, etc. made unlivable is intentional for that reason.
Deegan ANOTHER cancer survivor that parlayed it into a money making enterprise –Sorry but I have no respect anymore for anyone that starts one of these “non profits” for cancer research , holds a token sporting event (usually a golf tourney or rumming event) sits back and rakes in 5 figures for being on the “board”. Like Susan Komen–she started the Cancer for profit non profit industry. Billions and billions on research and never any real treatment breakthroughs.
I kind of feel sorry for DeSantis. Like so many politicians, both Democrat and Republican, he was initiated in the politics of the Swamp. I believe he started out as a good Governor, and still to a certain degree, but the lure and promises to a greater political future lured him away from the people of his state. The Swamp is still pushing him but unless the machines really are corrupt he will not be the candidate and he has tarnished his career forever. I will say I cringed at Trump’s comments at him, but now wonder if he was aware of things we don’t know. I still question the Mara Lago raid. I think some DeSantis’s recent state failures are not entirely his fault, but if he was focused more in his state’s needs, it might have not . I just wish he would forget 2024 , focus on the state, and run in 2028
I too, originally really liked DeSantis. I even thought seriously about moving to the “Free State.”
But I was mistaken about who he was. A 2018 video of his debate prep during his run for his first term reveals his anti-MAGA feelings were there from the beginning —- just kept under wraps until recently.
2018 video, five years ago —- Starting at @ 10 sec mark (or if in a hurry @18 sec mark) watch what he says, the disdain/distaste for Trump supporters.

Yes. I feel the same… but believe the deep state has so much power to blackmail anyone (ultimately destroy them/anyone totally) that most people are unwilling to choose self-destruction… especially if they have kids and DeSantis does.
And I was considering Jacksonville area as a retirement location.
No more.
Just saying….
DeSantis had nothing to do with this election. This election was because no one showed up to vote. Deegan was a popular news anchor for years and her hubby is the weatherman. Name recognition with no shows is a shoe in! The cheaters didn’t even need to get off the couch!
Likely true.
“[T]he illegal alien workers, who support the lifestyle indulgences of the affluent class, are being targeted for removal.”
As they should be. Ship them out. Operation Wet**** just like Ike. (Trump says he’s going to and that’s music to my ears.)
One big reason the Dem won is because Republicans and independents are moving out of Jax to surrounding counties. the growth in north St Johns, Nassau, and even into Baker County is tremendous. You can live in new and nice neighborhoods, better schools, and less crime, and still have easy access to Jax to work.
Well there ya go. Attack DeSantis continuously. He supports a repub candidate and a dem wins. Keep firing those shots in the name of “true conservatism” and Trump. Keep shooting the legs out from under allies. Make people despise and distrust them. Gloat when they endorse and that candidate loses. Because those are the tactics of a true God fearing conservative and not the antics of a clique of mean high school girls.
Don’t get twisted here. I do not support DeSantis because he signed legislation opposing The Constitution’s First Amendment and shutting down legit critique of insidious narratives in Balfouristan. OTOH..Trump has stated congress is run by Balfouristan’s cabal and that is a good thing.
Bet all you Floridians are super happy about all the
“conservatives” that have fled their crap holes and moved to your state.
We got to watch the same garbage in Colorado.
You just think you are winning.
For now.
I’d like to hear whar thw FL GOP has to say about what happened. I thought we were making Duval County red. It could be in typical Republican fashion we skipped the city of Jacksonville.
Never underestimate the GOP and establishment Republicans ability to completely f@#k up the most basic things.
“Believe me on this, DeSantis Republicans representing the financially elite and being condescendingly dismissive of the non-elite, is not a path to future Republican electoral victory. ”
We have an predatory transnational oligarchy problem. If there is not a solution from the right, there WILL be one from the left. We are like the Weimar Republic during the 1920’s and early 1930’s: everyone wanted Weimar gone except those directly feeding from the stream of tax money going into state coffers. The disagreement was over with what to replace it.
DeSantis won his last election by 18+ points. One would think the voters gave him this win because they wanted him to stay and govern the state. I can’t image many who voted because they wanted him to run for national office. It makes me angry and I bet I am not alone. I hope he and his donors understand my support for him as governor does not translate to support for him as president. In that case, they have made a huge miscalculation as I will be voting for PDJT and I don’t think I am alone.
you ain’t.
Retired Magistrate here: Ohio certainly has its problems; however, at least now you have to show a valid I.D. to vote and only U.S. citizens are able to vote. There are still many areas in Ohio that are very red; just stay away from Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Athens, Ohio. Insurance rates have gone up, but nothing like they have in Florida.
Yes, we have real Winters in Ohio; however, Spring is glorious, Summer is good and Fall is beautiful. Are we an exciting state to live in, no, but overall it is a good place to live if you stay away from the above areas.
Yeah, we have DeWine, a huge Rino. However, everyone knows what he is and our legislature is usually able to keep him under control. We also have a decent Attorney General and Secretary of State.
DeSantis is just a back stabber, in ill fitting suits who only cares about himself. He had such a bright future but it is very clear now that he sold himself to the highest bidder a long time ago.
Huh… makes you think THIS is the reason why the “resign to run” law was created. Politicians seeking higher/other offices tend to not take care of their existing responsibilities.
If I’m not mistaken, as it’s been a while since I’ve been thru Florida, but isn’t Jacksonville a Democrap shite-hole?…Seems it was last time I went thru there.
