A well-timed counterpunch against the duplicitous backstabbing by Ron DeSantis that took place in August of 2022 is delivered by former New York Congressman and former New York Governor candidate Lee Zeldin today. Zeldin endorses Donald Trump for the 2024 GOP nomination:

At a key moment in the New York governor race, in late August of 2022, shortly after the Mar-a-Lago raid, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was scheduled to be keynote speaker at a New York City Zeldin dinner/fundraiser. Before the fundraiser, DeSantis went to pick up a six-figure donor check from Billionaire developer Joseph Cayre of Midtown Equities.
Cayre told DeSantis that he supported Zeldin’s Democrat opponent Kathy Hochul. The contingency for the contribution appeared to be that DeSantis would cancel attendance of the dinner for Zeldin. DeSantis took the Cayre donor check and at the last minute cancelled his attendance at the Zeldin dinner. {GO DEEP}

Team DeSantis tried to sell a story about an emergency funeral the following day for slain police officer Jose Perez as the reason for his cancellation. However, we did a deep dive on the details and the timeline, and nothing matched the claims by DeSantis. {GO DEEP}
Officer Perez died on August 20th. The funeral was announced by the family and FDLE on August 26th, to be held August 29th.
When DeSantis left Florida on August 28th to pick up the check from Cayre and then attend the dinner later that night, he was well aware of the Perez funeral the next day. DeSantis took the time to pick up the check, then cancelled the evening dinner with Zeldin.
Two months later, long after the value of the fundraising would have been useful, on October 30, 2022, DeSantis made a return trip to New York to fulfill his obligation.
With only a week left before the 2022 mid-term election the value of the “fundraising window” had closed. DeSantis made an innocuous speech about police officer support, and then left New York. Essentially Zeldin was railroaded by the financial priority of the Florida Governor.
Actions create consequences.

It pains me to say this, but even Jeb handed off the state of FL to Rick Scott in A+ fiscal condition. As did Scott to RDS. RDS has run the state like he’s a Massachusetts Governor – the cost of living has probably tripled (see insurance rates, food costs, home costs – you know…living) and the state homeowner’s insurance fund.. well the same RDS ran that into insolvency as well. He’s truly done a lot of things well, the fiscal state of affairs for the state and cost of living are sure as hell not facts he could run on.
Once you get a layer or two into peeling the RDS onion, it’s nothing but Dem-style rot.
We are moving out of the state after 32 years in FL. He’s destroyed it for the middle class.
DeSantis is just like Governor Lee in Tennessee. They are RINOs. Neither one is getting us off the Socialist Train. We are just several cars behind New York and California. Tennessee and Florida have CRT in Schools, Terrible reading and math performance, DEI, and ESG. Lee is even trying to emulate your Red Flag laws. The big cities in both states are disintegrating. Spending is out of control. Both DeSantis and Lee are members of the UniParty.
DeSanctus is naïve and blinded by his thirst for power. If he would have waited and completed a full term as governor, perhaps he would have been humbled enough at addressing actual problems that he would have made a good leader.
As it is, he wants it now and will fail miserably and be lucky if he were re-elected in Florida.
He can ignore everything going on in Florida and keep his name in the media with social issues, but eventually the bills will come due, and people will notice he is ignoring them.
He ignored a fundamental principle of politics, making allies, and it’s coming back to bite him hard. He could have groomed allies, and even consulted several to help him with problems Floridians are facing, but it’s too late.
When those problems in Florida gain more traction, he will be left standing when the music stops.

He has Republican/Libertarian Thomas Massie’s endorsement as Sundance has observed before. Massie is such a disappointment in his warped line of thinking. I used to think Massie was as good a conservative as they come but now I wonder what happens to these people after they have been in the Washington District of Criminals for years.

He also values hard work and high quality and not wasting time. He did a lot to streamline regulations and many other positive things during his time in office.

A big problem with DeSatan running a shadow campaign is he can’t really parry attacks as a shadow candidate. DeSatan’s PAC and Crazy Eyes’ pack of Twitter attack dogs are supposed to fill that role but they are all miserable failures.

His help would consist of a Bush like administration, nothing more. Does America ever need another Bush administration? The answer is a resounding no.
This is the real reason his bid for the Presidency is premature. He should not have let greed persuade him to go for the brass ring before he had a true national presence and had come up to speed on international issues.

When my baby Sister was about 3 yrs old, she wanted to play hide and seek with me and our middle sister, when we were stuck in the house for any reason and couldn’t go outside to play. It was a very tough game to play inside our house bcz the house was bare and the style of furniture didn’t include big overstuffed Pieces. What was often popular in the day was chairs and couches in the living room that had wrought iron rods for legs and the rest of the frame with small pads attached to the arm, and a cushion attached to the back and one to the seat, was the seat, but plenty of the wrought iron was showing.
In other words, even a small child could not hide behind that chair. The coffee table was a flat board with 3 narrow legs, nothing under t like shelves or cabinet or anything, no cushions either.
Baby Sister always went to hide behind a chair in the corner, and while the one who was currently “IT” was counting, Baby Sister closed her eyes tight and covered them with her hands.
When we glanced around and saw her in her same old hiding place as always, we walked up to her an tagged her. “You’re It”, we said.
