Not much change in the last week according to the Morning Consult polling [DATA HERE]:
The next two weeks are critical for the non-Trump team consisting of Ron DeSantis handlers, multinational corporations, GOPe professional political class, most elements of the RNC and the 2024 spearhead institution of the Republican Governors Association (RGA). DeSantis handlers have him scheduled in Washington DC today, in an effort to circle the DeceptiCon wagons and fend off the MAGA insurgency.
However, as the DeSantis team call everyone trying to stop MAGA advancements, Florida Rep. Greg Steube became the fifth member of the sunshine state’s 20-member Republican congressional delegation to endorse former President Donald Trump for 2024. [Details Here]
(Via Politico) – Steube’s endorsement came last night on Newsmax, and while campaign endorsements don’t win elections, they can feed a narrative about who’s up and who’s down. He contended Trump “is the only person that can reverse on Day 1 all these disastrous policies of the Biden administration. … We need to right all the wrongs that happened under this administration.” The southwest Florida representative added that Trump is “widely supported in my district, widely supported in Florida.”
Steube’s decision to endorse happened after reports came out that those in Gov. Ron DeSantis’ orbit reached out to GOP members of Congress last week. That outreach came in the wake of rumblings that several were poised to endorse Trump. Steube’s endorsement also comes on the eve of a DeSantis visit to Washington, D.C., where the likely presidential candidate is doing a meet and greet hosted by several Republicans, including two House members who have endorsed him — Chip Roy of Texas and Thomas Massie of Kentucky.
When asked about DeSantis, Steube noted that he just got reelected and said he hoped that he would continue “to concentrate” on his job as governor. “I hear from constituents all the time that want him to finish out his term and support President Trump,” Steube said on Newsmax. Steube then even took a bit of a swipe at DeSantis, noting his pending trip to D.C. and South Carolina while the Florida Legislature is in session. “His focus should be in Florida. Floridians want to be focused on Florida. That’s what he signed for his job for reelection to do.” (more)
Wall Street and the Sea Island billionaires backing DeSantis are all-in to stop Trump and the working-class coalition of supporters. DeSantis has around $500 million in corporate dark money already on the SuperPAC books, and access to another estimated $500 million in the next three months. That buys a lot of support from the professional political class and the grifting influencers.
Get ready, 2024 is MAGA burning the ships behind us. This one is for all the marbles. This is not a place where tepid half-measures and gentlemanly pastels will suffice. Get right with God, put on the armor, absorb the focus of fighting like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark and get comfortable being uncomfortable.
Our ally is anyone who stands beside us, right now. Our enemy is anyone who doesn’t.
The new sons and daughters of the revolution are going to look completely different. The Green Dragon Tavern may be a church, a picnic table or a tailgate. Our assembly is not focused on the labels of the assembled. The mission is the purpose… The fight is wherever it surfaces…. Delicate sensibilities must be dispatched like a feather in a hurricane.
Disappointed in Massie’s endorsement of DeSantis.
Libertarians are silly.
A Libertarian is a Liberal who hates paying taxes. Libertarians in CO are why the scam legalization of weed happened under the guise of “helping children” and “schools”.
They’re also big fans of “public-private partnerships” which are scams designed to harm citizens.
Or a conservative that wants to smoke weed.
Was it?
I think he is still but hurt about Trump calling him out about Massie’s opposition to the covid relief bill. Massie was right, it was mostly a boondoggle but Trump had to do it due to the lockdowns. Now we know the lockdowns were wrong as well but at the time Trump was cornered. What Massie doesn’t realize is that most of his most ardent supporters also love Trump.
Me too, however, Trump called Massie names when Massie wanted to make Congress follow the rules
Massie deserved them. Massie is not for real.
Geesh!
RDS just buried himself completely with the signing of a 6week Abortion Bill in FL.
It used to be 15 (16?) weeks (with the usual exceptions) , which was perfectly reasonable and something most sane people could get on board with, no matter which side of the issue they were primarily on.
But 6 Weeks???
That right there is National Election LOSS territory.
In fact, if he’d done that before the ’22 FL. Gov. Election, he would have lost that one, too.
RDS is dead in Politics now. No way he’ll be able to walk that one back.
Sigh…a 6-week abortion ban is not an election loser. That is pro-abortion propaganda and totally at odds with current polling on the issue. It is a fantasy of the baby-killing crowd that ending a human life past the detection of a heartbeat is just fine and dandy with most people. I’ve seen more than one post like this on various conservative sites, so I imagine this is a coordinated campaign.
kate, what it tells you is that many Conservative women and girls – perhaps ALL of them?- realize that nearly every female misses a period every now and then.
6 weeks is not an acceptable time for that reason alone.
Unless you’re going to get serious about training women and girls to go out and get a pregnancy test for every single missed period, a 6 week limit (one missed period) is unacceptable.
Once you’ve hit 2 or 3 missed periods, you’re an idiot if you don’t suspect pregnancy and you’re fresh out of excuses.
There ARE Repubs who think that, yes, a limit to Abortion is GOOD, but not at 6 weeks, ONE missed period.
And furthermore, they also think other things are very important, like Parents Rights, Kids Rights to not be subjected to gender changing surgery at a young age, Constitutional Rights, etc etc etc.
Those are ALL things that will go out the window if Dems start winning every election just because Rs decided that a 6 week limit is the hill they’re gonna die on.
And they WILL die on that hill.
And I want to add, kate, that I DO respect your position.
But the way to get there is to change hearts, NOT thru legislation.
And get involved on a local level with great orgs that have setup facilities for young women and girls who find themselves in need of help to keep their babies.
My area has 2 that provide housing, education (complete HS degree), child care, etc. so that girls can keep their babies.
Your area may have something like that, too. If not, get together w/ like -minded people and get one started?
What about promoting the idea that women have the choice not to have unprotected sex with someone with whom they do not want to share a child or an STD?
Very. True.
But there ARE kids/ very young girls who get pregnant, too.
And most of them are pretty delusional when it comes to that stuff.
Spoken like a bona fide big R repub…bow to the Left so they don’t label you as mean!
ugh.
I am telling you that there are registered Rs who will not vote for this.
THAT is the problem.
In general, FL. has a very good Legislature, but after this, I’m a bit worried we may be losing some of these reps. in the next election.
To hell with them! It is written in Matthew…”he who is not with us, is against us!”. Especially on this most fundamental of issues.
Sounds like the DNC lives in your head.
Nobody ever thinks of that option …. It used to be what kept women chaste to a degree – or the alternative was to marry early.
I can tell you from personal observation that in church circles where there is a culture of dating… I have witnessed very few marriages (I’m sure not all but in my experience). In contrast, in my experience in my reformed church circles where there isn’t a culture of dating but rather a modest and chaste way of living, I have seen many weddings of young people. I have witnessed this with my own eyes, and am beyond joyous because of it. The church is alive and thriving but you may not be seeing it. If you’re in a church that isn’t thriving, you’re really missing out. Also if anyone gets caught up and offended by the word reformed, I love you too but… too bad. I used to care what other people think, not anymore. We’re WAY beyond that now. What Sundance wrote about getting right with your maker, the living God, who is and is to come… That’s the way we win. If you’re young, or old and haven’t got right with God, it’s late but it’s not too late. Isaiah 55:6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near” (read in a loud deafening roar).
Um yes, there’s these things called natural consequences.
That method didn’t have much impact while Roe V Wade held Sway.
What is the difference, if we had open season on the BORN, but “RELY” of “changing hearts” rather than on Legislation. ????
Well i8f you get a goodly collection of World Almanacs from the 30’s to 1963.
And a collection of World Almanacs from 1963 until Today, and check out the Statistics for The Death Penalty for Murder (of Born people), and see what Difference a LAW makes, and which do you want to stand before the Lord holding onto.
Ezekiel 9; 1 & 2 Corinthians.
If you never have read the Prophecy of Ezekiel 9, every human being should read that AT LEAST one time in their life.
Anyone Proud of themselves for being supportive of someone that is in a Lifestyle contrary to what WE KNOW is God’s Best for each of us, “Because you know that God loves every single one of us as much as anything in the world”…
That standing is what 1 &2 Corinthians was written to address. Whether it is the Right Thing to do to support Each Person in their own decision as to “What is Right for THEM, Personally, whether it is the right thing for everyone else, or not!”
But, in the meantime murder more babies. And educate people about the timing of missed periods in relation to butchering babies. Thanks for the information.
Decades ago they created a special thermometer for women by which they take their temp every single day – by which they know and keep tabs on their own standard. There are about 4-6 days of elevated temperatures by which they can know they are ovulating, and are thus prepared for extra precautions.
These are The Days when a LOT of people on the earth are making their FINAL Decisions in all their life, for their Eternity.
One of the Highest scales in the weighing right now, is regarding who is hurting the Children.
The least they can do is keep a Calendar. Not THAT many people have sex EVERY single day.
Keep a calendar and mark the two issues, what you daily temp is, and a record of your activity. You just need a symbol. not a graphic account.
Make up your mind, it is to your own advantage to NOT hurt the little children.
Of course the “Deliberate” satanists will feel honored to hurt them, anyway… They might as well walk into it eyes wide open. Even if they DO refuse to See.
Women don’t miss periods. I never did one time in 40 years unless I was pregnant. Not. One. Time.
Wait. You never knew a woman who missed a period?
Cuz I know/knew many.
You’re lucky your cycle was so regular!
The diagnosis for what you are describing is a a condition called amenorrhea (also called oligomenorrhea) missing a period for 2 or 3 months without being pregnant.
In the recent past, everyone was pretty regular. It was usual to be regular. We worried if we were a day or two late that we were pregnant. (Just like before about 2000, there weren’t white tic tax toe stripes in the blue sky.)
I understand that things may be different now for the vaccinated or for women who are unvaxxed but having sex with a vaxxed partner who may be shedding spike proteins and causing her problems.
Naomi Wolfe, the author, has been doing a great deal of work on women’s menstrual issues and the vaccines. I just heard her discussing some of her work on Bannon’s Warroom. (She describes all sorts of menstrual irregularities and issues that are occurring now.)
OH YES THEY DO!!!!
I agree with you! 6 weeks is an admirable goal. After all, if there is a heartbeat is there not life? But first people have to be persuaded. And educated. And yes, 6 weeks is not that long to go without a period. This is a very difficult and personal issue. It will take years to resolve. I think we will get there, but it won’t be easy. And I am concern Dems will get young women out to vote for them solely because they are convinced that Republicans want to Handmaid Tales them.
Yes, Millie. I believe it has to do with changing hearts r/t Legislation, and that *can* be achieved over time.
And, in the meantime, the Dems will use it ferociously to win elections, because for *many* Dem voters, this is their ONLY issue.
If Rs end up losing elections over this, we could end up w/ “Legal til Birth” stuff that has already gained traction in some Dem states.
I personally know one Dem who was poised to Vote R in the Mid-terms for the 1st time in her life (a 55 YO) over the Biden/Dem train wreck in her Dem State. She also does *not* agree with the “Legal til Birth” atrocity. So the Dems going extreme with that turned her off.
Then Lindsay trotted out with his Federal Abortion Announcement and she was right back on the Dem train.
Another long -time D voter who was going to NOT vote in the mid-terms DID vote post- Lindsay.
My biggest fear tho, is R’s who will get lackadaisical about voting if Rs start passing stuff they consider to be a bit extreme. And ALL of them are fine with a 15-16 week limit.
Sheesh, half the countries in Europe have a 15/16 week limit. Clearly, most people see the sense in that.
Anyway, here’s the D Legislation we could end up with in many States if the Rs force this issue:
Whenever someone says “clearly”, it’s a sign that it’s not “clear” at all.
Abortion is the killing of an innocent baby. I do not think that “most people see the sense in that.”
Curiously I have observed that my MAGA friends who favor DeSantis over Trump have several attitudes in common: They think Trump’s tweets are embarrassing and mean, they are pro- choice, they watch TV, and they are vaccinated. So I guess they are overlooking this new Florida law? Or they just follow FOX news?
In other words, for consideration of post-birth abortions, while it will not be ok to kill a baby that is four weeks old, it will be ok to kill one that is 2 1/2 weeks old.
Anybody who uses the rationale that abortion is ok “up to ____ weeks” has just said that they are NOT anti-abortion. They are NOT pro-life.
Using slippery language/reasoning to influence people just indicates they are oblivious to how obvious they are. (Hat tip: “oblivious to the obvious”–a wonderful phrase used by a CTH commenter yesterday…..love it)
The Disney stuff that he and his people thought they had reigned supreme over is now bubbling up like hot lava because Iger thinks he can rough Desantis up a little bit!!! They shouldn’t have taken the victory lap so quickly!!! 🤔
From what I’ve been able to learn, DeSantis has been KO-d by the Mouse. Totally.
Reedy Creek board changed their agreements the day before the FL legislature gave Ron his latest “win”, and they forgot to check it out before his signing. Crown rules, and since Disney = CIA, we know who is going to win in the end. lol
RD says FL will sue and win over this. Just heard it recently. Probably will – the FL AG is sharp.
It is difficult to believe you wrote an abortion at 15 or 16 weeks is ok and “something most sane people can get on board with”. I could not disagree more strongly.
I had an ultrasound of my twin babies at 15-16 weeks. It was high definition. I saw immediately that my son would have a receding chin and need braces (true). And he had an amazing full head of hair ( also true).
Maybe you should do more research into the development of babies. Most babies’ hearts start beating on about day 57. And since you count from the first day of your last period and you don’t ovulate until about day 14 that means the heart starts beating on day 39 or so.
Woman know when they miss their period. And tests are cheap and readily available.
Jazz, I’m talking about “sane” people who are in the middle of the No Legal Abortion vs. Abortion Free for All.
I know that people on either extreme do not consider “The Middle” to be sane.
All I’m saying is, most people are in the Middle on this.
Therefore, a 6 week ban will turn them off.
You’re right. Just kill that baby. Get it over with. Right?
No, I need 3 months to decide if I want to kill it.
What a strange world you live in.
What always fascinates me about posts like this – fill in the blank issue, frankly – is the notion that WHATEVER a Republican proposes, the public will look at it and blanch. The problem with that position is, the Democrats have gotten more and more extreme with their evil as the years go by and, seemingly, they never are cautioned about nor seem to lose votes over their extreme views. One is either pro-life, or one is pro-abort. There is no middle ground. If one is “middle ground” – i.e. SIX WEEKS is just too short a time, leave it at 15 – than one is pro-abort.
It sounds like a shill has crawled into our foxhole! To hell with elections…me and mine stand with LIFE. If they’re not with us, they are against us.
The people here who are completely against Legal Abortion DO realize that abortions continue wether Legal or not, right?
I mean, they were Illegal before Roe , but women still had them.
Both of my grandmas talked about those times. And one of ’em even told me about a specific Dr. I knew who used to do them.
My best childhood friend also committed suicide just a year before Roe- because she was pregnant and couldn’t figure out how to get herself out of it. She didn’t tell anyone, just shot herself in the head. At 14 YO.
So now the reason to murder babies is to prevent suicide. If we will just accept this logic we win elections. You should be working in DC.
Heartless.
My friend was a baby once, too.
And now both she AND her baby are gone.
And I’m sure she wasn’t the only one.
Hardly heartless.
Quit digging your hole. You made your case for abortion and think Republicans have to win elections because, GOPe > Democrats. Fine. Stop.
Sure. There’s little stopping Evil nowadays.
NO EXCEPTIONS! LIFE IS THE ANSWER…try to turn this “ship of state” without us? The 2nd Amend folks and us are your only troops!
Anyway, I just hope that Trump does not announce a policy like this, too.
I want TRUMP to win.
And RDS is over as a “threat” with this announcement.
I never thought RDS was a threat to Trump. But clearly, many people here *did* think that.
So that’s the * good* news for you guys, no matter which side of the abortion issue you’re on>>>> RDS is definitely DONE.
So you’re willing to have babies killed in order to ensure Trump wins? And we think God is going to honor that and be inclined to answer our prayers to save our country ? I wouldn’t count on it.
And to everyone here:
If you have never helped out at one of these places that supports girls and young women so they can keep their babies>>>>>> Do It!!
It is *very* uplifting.
And work on getting Planned Parenthood shut down.
We do not need a special building for women to get abortions in. We have regular hospitals, clinics for that.
A “special” Abortion Building is just sick and always has been.
Spend your time doing something useful to help solve the problem?
As a Floridian I feel grateful the DeSantis beat his radical opponent in his first election. The only reason the state of Florida has flourished is because of massive population growth. It made him look very good. The state is being influenced by huge population growth and the overcrowding of our state. Couple this with our huge snow bird crowd and vacationers makes our state not only rich but even more overcrowded. Our schools, hospitals, infrastructure aren’t adequate. He has allowed this and in time the state will decline and a future governor will get the blame. Remember California was the place to be. The Golden state. The Florida paradise is on the same path.
Spot on, neighbor. We’ve been Californicated.
RD would have lost without Trump carrying him across the finish line. RD didn’t beat anyone, Trump did. RD policies made the state look good and that’s why people flocked to FL. To escape COVID tyranny. Period. All he had to do was a bit of promo in front of the camera, which worked incredibly well in his favor – attracting establishment/RINO $ to enlist him against Trump. I’m saddened that he took the bait. I guess it reveals him.
I don’t call what FL is now “flourishing.” It’s a shithole and we are leaving the state. My wife and I moved here 30+ years ago. FL always had a balanced budget, with major surpluses. Now the state Citizen’s Insurance is not solvent, per RD. Fl never had an issue with anything fiscal before RD. Something is not right with this guy.
Rick Scott sued Obama using the state’s surpluses and won over Obamacare.
Jeb played some scary games with the state’s Pension funds but did hand off a solid fiscal disposition to Scott.
I think it was Lawton Chiles who handled insurance companies best. When companies wanted to pull out of FL, he told them “if you go, you pull out completely, you will not be able to sell any of your products in the state of FL.” It worked.
I’m relieved we don’t have Gillum, but it was close, and for a while now FL has almost been a purple state when it comes to votes. Fingers crossed it holds R.
RD has practically committed political suicide running against Trump, but I guess he’ll do the cute by half thing and claim he never ran when he needs to bow out. I find it amazing that he’s think we will forget.
He’s just another chump in an expensive suit.
7% for pence
Dear God
Pure fluff.
At least 7% of the people are always wrong.
Fox just did their part today, by once again getting in bed with the Devil, Dominion.
I saw that, too, Sneaky little sneaky snaky thing to do it “THAT WAY”!!!
President Trump is doing great on endorsements.
I was thinking the other day that at least there is no one out there anymore saying he can’t win, like 2015 & 2016.
MEATBALL Ron cannot be very smart. Unless the Republican Party denies Trump being on the ballot, he has to know that he has no chance of beating Trump, and he has to know that his political career is over if he decides to run against Trump.
DeSantis is beginning to remind me of Zelensky in that it will become harder and harder for him to back out if he would ever consider doing so. It won’t be his decision. Funny that, it’s almost like Biden. For Zelensky, it’s the money and a fawning Western media and governments. In a few more years of Biden, he could be a billionaire. For DeSantis, it’s more the fawning of billionaires and media who all hate Trump. It’s the DeSantis bubble that will keep him in even to the detriment of R’s winning the WH. And as Sundance has explained, it doesn’t matter to the billionaires.
Friendly reminder –
While it’s good to keep one eye on the machinations of the ruling class sub-faction known as the GOP/RNC, I think the discussions and debates are all academic when contrasted to the serious warning that Sundance reiterated a few days ago in his stellar article, “Envelopes” -Quint’s Message”
All this “Sturm und Drang” about who’s who among politicians is completely wasted if the 2024 election is allowed to proceed in the same manner as 2020.
So true….We can’t take the bait… It’s who rustles up the envelopes and who’s in charge of the machines and the counting.. Got to listen to VSGDT… gots to beat them at their own game…”
“They” hate it when we use Alinsky’s rules against “Them”!
Just sayin…..
That’s exactly why so many people have opted out of voting.
Here’s why that’s a poorly thought out choice. You really cannot predict that your vote in your precinct is going to be tossed out or overridden by fraud, unless you live in one of the precincts that were noted as having been manipulated last election.
And even if you do live in a precinct that “made the news”, not voting makes it one vote easier for the criminals. Why don’t you also turn off your house alarm and unlock your doors? Yes that’s an absurd suggestion. So is not voting.
Yup, just as President DJT launched a killer torpedo at the Desantis ship with his comments and statements regarding Disney since Iger apparently feels he can goo toe to toe with old Ron these days and bloody his nose!!! 🤔
The only benefit a GOP candidate can expect is publicity.
If Trump doesn’t get the nomination, he’ll run as an independent or 3rd party. That splits the vote.
Plus, are the election fraud capos going to decide to cheat Republican this time?
Publicity is all a candidate can hope for.
The FL reps know who butters their bread. Trump rewards loyalty. DeSantis is repaying Trump’s loyalty with deception. It doesn’t take a genius to know, if you’re a FL congressman or voter, that Ron DeSantis will abandon you, too.
There’s a war machine to feed, money laundering kickbacks to be paid, China to be rewarded, and illegal alien workforces to be exploited…DeSantis won’t stop any of that.
Good point. RDS has shown himself to be a backstabber. He will climb right over any of us if it suits his political aspirations. He cannot be trusted to be loyal, tell the truth, and not sell his soul to the highest bidder.
I don’t know how he does not hang his head in shame after PDJT dragging him over the governorship finish line in first place.
The most fun part abut Ronnie D. is that the more he scurries around “under the radar” to solicit backing for his already Globalist-backed campaign, the more the supporters are abandoning ship. You’d think a “navy boy” would recognize the sounds of a scuttle in progress.
It appears that he’s taken $ from a bunch that you don’t just walk away from. I think he’s marking time until traitors like Linda graham start suggesting that Trump should be disallowed to run. Maybe Ron will run as Nikki’s VP! I just barfed a little.
With the current state of, and geometrically increasing rate of homeowner’s insurance in FL, which has occurred under the watch of R.D., maybe him being out of state for a few days wouldn’t be so bad…
