The latest YouGov poll [raw data here] shows why FL Gov Ron DeSantis is about to make the biggest political mistake of his career by launching a challenge against Donald Trump.
If you listen to the professional media pundits who give, and attempt to sway, opinion – and if you listen to the statements from the professional Republican class that wants to remove Donald Trump from the party, you will hear this general talking point:
“The Republican Party needs to appeal to a younger, more ethnically diverse audience to maximize the ‘big tent’ size of the party.”…
There are many current variations of this talking point, but generally speaking this ‘big tent new Republican Party‘ message is what you hear from the Karl Rove, Nikki Haley, Chris Sununu, Mitch McConnell, Ronna McDaniel and the entirety of the cocktail class Republican circuit. It is a common talking point amid all the professional pundits.
However, to point out the nonsense of their argument, if we take them at their word, what we find in almost every Republican poll demographic Donald Trump’s biggest base of support is younger, less wealthy, working class voters of every ethnicity. As outlined in the YouGov Poll cited, Donald Trump literally brings to the GOP exactly what they claim to want. Yet these professional Republican voices use their talking point to frame a narrative against Trump.
Check out the data against the GOPe talking point. As we have previously discussed, the younger the voter the more support for Donald Trump. The support for Donald Trump also increases with Hispanic voters. It is only in the very wealthy white voters where you find support increasing for Ron DeSantis; this is the exact opposite of what the professional pundits claim in print and broadcast media.
As you can see above, Ron DeSantis support increases with older, wealthy, white voters. Support for Ron DeSantis decreases with younger, less affluent, voters with ethnic diversity. This is the exact opposite of the professional Republican pundit talking points. I am highlighting it [DATA HERE] so you can see for yourself and use this reality in your conversations and candidate debates.
Donald J. Trump has larger appeal to younger, diverse, working class voters. This is the heart of MAGA and why the traditional Republican Party, the party of old white people, is trying to remove him.
Next talking point…. Take out all of the other options for candidates, and just make the contest a head-to-head challenge between Trump and DeSantis. What you find is exactly the same. President Donald J. Trump crushes Governor Ron DeSantis. But look at how the head-to-head matchup turns out with Latino voters:
Donald Trump leads Ron DeSantis by a whopping 47 points (67% to 20%) amid the largest growing demographic group.
President Trump is the future of the Republican Party….
…. and they hate him for it.

What’s after Trump?
I voted for him 2x.
I support MAGA Agenda.
Who carries the torch going forward and when is the best timing for that?
These should be the questions being asked of the public.
A good question for which there is no good answer presently. I think during the next 4 years someone will emerge. Proving their abilities thru the primaries, not necessarily as a candidate, or in the DJT administration. For now getting DJT elected is all that matters. IMO
Plenty of time to worry about that – first things first.
kari lake of course
On the surface I would agree, but I sure would like to see her in her rightful position as Governor of Arizona. Then see how she governs in that State.
Amen to that DG!
Matt Gaetz – Kari Lake – just for starters
Would love to see Matt Gaetz go into colleges and challenge them.
We have 5 years to worry about who’s next in line to replace President Trump as President.
I know several that work for me, and right now Governor DeSantis, is not one of them.
We are at war with 75% of the leadership, called Congress.
2024 will be a reckoning, for recovering America, if we last that long.
If the criminals steal another election. It will be the last Federal election.
We will be tribal within a year.
Kari Lake?
I’ve mentioned elsewhere that it’s up to President Trump to ensure his legacy lives on. If he wins a second term, then he needs to clean out his administration from top to bottom and replace everybody with American patriots who are loyal to God and country (in that order). It is critical that he surrounds himself with people that he and We the People can trust.
KARI!!!!!
I carry the torch.
I am one of #WeThePeople.
I am every man that cares about saving this country.
I am your neighbor. I am your friend. I am America’s hope.
I am.
Kari Lake comes to mind…
I realize Trump won’t live forever but he’s a uniquely singular force in American politics because he didn’t need the Establishment’s money or approval.
No one will ever replace Trump unless another high-profile billionaire willing to sacrifice their own personal standing and reputation comes forward. I just don’t see that happening again after everything Trump has endured as president.
The conventional answer is Kari Lake.
Just heard the debate on Kirk about early voting, ballot harvesting verses we vote on vote day. Kari is for vote on vote day, she said that if we vote early they know how many ballots are needed and have the time to insert. That yes they had to be brazen and outed themselves on vote day but we can now know what to look for. She has now filed with the supreme in AZ. Next guest continued the discussion of the courts corruption in the whole election issue. It all boils down to this ….if we can’t win by voting either way it is done and not through the courts than what is to be done next? Keep voting and wishing/hoping and losing? Do we have to take it into our own hands by creating our own justice system? Do we go in and disrupt DC so that it is incapable of day to day operations? Everyone seems to ignore the only options left. Remember the original tea party…No Taxation without representation. When will someone step forward to lead? When will we realize what we must do?
i think we all know this but try once again to avoid bad events and we all know that may need to occur or a split We all hope it can be corrected peacefully . I am with you though.
Might want to ask Trump that. He seems to focus entirely on himself and tear down others. What bench is he building?
The GOPe wouldn’t know a diverse GOP base if it slapped them in the face. Especially Karl (I don’t want my son to pick lettuce) Rove who is the most repulsive operative from the elite class. I loved that Bannon and President Trump came out hard on trashing Fox News/the Murdocks. The reaction from CPAC and the RAV crowd was intimidating I’m sure.
Fox is over. Newsmax is actually a conservative news channel. Not a group of popularity wannabes.
One America News, https://www.oann.com/
Newsmax is slightly to the right of Fox News, but not conservative; when push comes to shove, it usually caves to the RINO PTB, IMO.
Yep, Newsmax seems to have been designed from the ground up by the intelligence community to scoop up disaffected Fox News viewers after their heel turn against Trump.
I don’t trust Newsmax one bit – Greta Van Susteren’s entire hour is basically a commercial for whatever nonsense the CIA wants at any particular moment. Spicer is an RNC plant. The two actual conservatives on the entire 24-hour day have been confined and minimized by their recent schedule changes.
Who are the two?
Newsmax is not at all impressive. OANN for me.

Since I don’t have cable after cancelling it, I can’t and don’t want to watch that Fox News GOPe spin machine. RAV, and Lindell TV are the only ones I stream on a TV, computer or mobile phone when I want to get in depth news of what is happening on major issues. Just a few shows and shorter periods of time.
I cut the cable cord, not because I couldn’t afford it, but rather I got tired of paying for, thus supporting, “woke” network crap I never watched. I deduced most cable shows are pushing anti American, equity, diversity, LBTQABCDEFG10 plus, open borders, etc. agendas I don’t agree with. They obviously and utterly hate me and the MAGA movement so why pay them.
I was like a lot of America First patriots and kept Fox News on in the background most of the time. I began to became wary of Fox after the first debate trying to “take out” Trump and all through his time in office. During and after the stolen 2020 election and the removal of Lou Dobbs for not abandoning Trump, I cut all of them off. I found that watching Fox and as background noise was a habit and not useful at all. I found I DO NOT miss them at all.
I tried Newsmax and OANN, but just wasn’t satisfied with them not covering the stolen election and their seemingly compliant stance on the Covid scam.
Now RAV and Lindell TV streaming occasionally and visiting the Conservative Tree House, Gateway Pundit, The Citizens Free Press, and others several time a day keep me informed much more than any of the GOPe “tick tock” talking heads on cable.
One a side note, I have also stopped listening to many of the 3 hour radio show talking heads, especially the ones associated with or supporting the “new” Paul Ryno version of Fox News that host obvious never Trump, GOPe guests, etc. I don’t think I have to mention any names here as most know who I am talking about.
I don’t know about OAN now, but they’ve been big on covering fraud. Cristina Bobb was the AZ audit journo. They’re the only ones who didn’t back down to Dominion–so they were booted off cable.
Someone just said they seemed to be going RdS.
I hope NOT… although it seems like everyone else is, so who knows?
Thank you Lindell TV for not caving — Bannon too
This REALLY aggravates me that the older my generation gets, the bigger COWARDS they become when it comes to fighting the good fight for their country’s well being. I have NEVER and never will vote for my Wallets contents. I vote for what’s better for my Country, not specific to me, like so many of my elder fellow Citizens. I am disgusted by some of these numbers. We in this age group remember full well what Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter did to our country. NOW, when our country needs us most, a lot of my age group are more concerned with a “Mean Tweet” than their Country’s Finances and standing in the World Theater. This DISGUSTS ME….
Hmmm. I’m in that age group and am definitely NOT doing better or even maintaining. Work part-time and would be willing to work more days, but all those unfilled jobs are minimum wage and involve a lot of physical work. So, I have to respectfully disagree. What’s good for the country, honestly good not BS good, is good for everyone.
i suspect they were not President Trump supporters in the first place.
There are many older blue hairs who never worked outside
the home a day in their lives except for a part time job or perhaps
as a teacher. They always let their husbands lead the way. That is how it
was back in the day. Their social circle is with their bible study
group or bridge/canasta/bunco and book clubs. Back in the day,
for instance, many did not drive and a female could not get a
home mortgage without a co-signer (usually a male). I have some
friends who are in this group and they like to tell me they can’t
vote for someone who sends mean tweets. This, from people
who would not know a tweet if it bit them in the ass.
The middle aged and younger gals
have earned paychecks to support themselves. It gives one a
different perspective.
I find it absolutely fascinating the differences between my older friends,
my daughters in their 50’s and my grandchildren in the 17-22 age group.
It is a great learning experience if one pays attention.
“blue hairs?” I haven’t seen a blue-haired old lady in well over 20 years.
“middle aged and younger gals have earned paychecks . . . .” Well, I’m 74 years old and I earned paychecks for myself and others for 43 years, even when salaries were depressed for females.
Experiences within one’s small circle are merely anecdotal. Generalizations about age groups create misconceptions and are divisive at a time when we sorely need to support each other.
I do appreciate you reminding (or informing) us of the conditions under which my generation (and those before us) lived.
I’m 75 and still earn a paycheck and my hair ain’t blue. Been working since I was 15.
Same for me. Im 74 and still an IT system admin. Why stop now. Voted for Trump 2x and will do again.
….”They always let their husbands lead the way. That is how it

I think you went back a little further than is relevant here. I was born in 1942 (do the math). I just retired 2 years ago, after working since 17 yo. Married had kids etc. I worked, brought up kids, bought or leased cars according to my liking. Bought a home, mortgage decision based on my & hubs income (mine being more substantial – he was a cop).
However, my parents, born circa early 1900s prob *somewhat* come into the category you are describing. Although all the men did drive and had jobs, while some of the women did too!
Might also mention, friends and family in my age bracket (some still kicking) also come into my first paragraph.
I’m of the boomer generation. There was a big bunch of us, all living life with different scenarios.
I’m 75, female, married with kids in their fifties and grandchildren, ages 15 to 21.
During the ‘70’s ( especially during the Carter years) with a mortgage rate of 9.5 %, my household needed two incomes. We were not alone, most of my married friends also worked.
I was one of the lucky ones. I worked a four day work week- had Wednesdays off.
That was the day I could clean the house, d0 the laundry, grocery shop, etc.
It was also the day I could sit and listen to Rush while I planned meals, made grocery lists and paid bills.
Well..I’m 67 and have worked as a waitress, a real estate sales person, mortgage broker and as a teacher. I purchased my own home at 35, married at 49 and I now own eight rental and airbnb properties. I pay every bill and make all real estate decisions. I took care of my brother and father in hospice and supervised the construction of a home rebuild after a fire that killed my mother..in 12 months. I took care of my husband during weeks of radiation therapy then bought two more houses. Ive always voted R and wasn’t concerned about Trump’s mean tweets or pu**y comment. My husband is a retired construction worker and not a Pu**y..He does his thing and I do mine.
There are no mean tweets happening as PDJT is not active on twitter now.
anyone who cares about years-old tweets is not serious about the real issues.
Mean tweets are entertaining.
If we want to be really honest, they’re not even mean, straight up truth. Most simply can’t handle the truth.
My daughter-in -law is a millennial. She will not for for Trump because of MEAN TWEETS. As if…
His truths are posted on twitter.
See his beautiful obituary to Kellyann conway’s marriage and Mr KellyAnn of Lincoln Pervert Project.
One of his finest, if you love the mean tweets.
Too worried about the value of their 401k/Roth and I understand the fear, but MAGA’Nomics was strong IMO
If you go to a Trump rally, it’s 50-80 year olds, and 16-22 year olds.
The people in mid career are the fearful ones, they must go along with whatever corporate culture diversity and inclusion BS comes there way IF they want to advance their careers and send Johhny to college to learn more of the BS.
Interesting article about the generation gaps. Might be playing into the poles.

The availability of the Internet has a huge effect on the thought process.
I agree….some of our acquaintances have really incomprehensible, self serving political views….early onset prion disease from their vaxxes and seed oils and high fructose corn syrup….it’s gonna get ugly if I hear one more snark on Hawley!!!!
Generalizations abound on CTH. Regardless of what is written on today’s thread . . . .
There ARe women who support Trump.
There ARE women who make decisions based on logic, reason, and divinely inspired intuition, NOT emotion.
There are “boomers” who keep themselves well informed and vote intelligently.
We — many, many of us — vote and work “for their country’s well being.”
Yes. Thats me as well.
Wow , “not sure” , in the first poll came out ahead of all the other potential candidates.
DeSoros non campaign already getting defined by VSGPDJT.
Meatball is gonna stick –
Hilarious. DeSantis is over before he began LOL.
Stay in Florida and burnish your image as a Populist , Ron. It’s over for this primary.
The plan is for DeSoros to become the defacto nominee if they manage to take Trump out before things get going.
These are not stupid people. They know Trump vs DeSantis is a loser. It has to be DeSantis vs everyone else on the field. They plan to take Trump out so that the best choice becomes DeSantis.
They overestimate the amount of people that will vote for DeSantis in that circumstance. The GOP does not care if they win but the care if they look like a legitimate party. There’s no money to grift if you don’t have voters – see third parties.
Still not voting for Uniparty Ron, Nimrata, Mike Pompous or whomever gets carted out by the establishment.
Right at the moment he’s totally desperate to shake the growing concern that he is nothing but a weak scarecrow controlled by his shadowy, big-money donors who are attempting a con on the voters.
Notice how the concern is about Big money donors getting worried. It’s obvious they are Rhonda’s constituency – not the voters.
Gasparino….ugh. When I was still watching Fox Business on a daily basis, he annoyed me more than anybody on there.
DeSantis must run to go on the national stage to present himself as a believable possible President. That in itself is not necessarily a direct challenge to Trump. The challenge is to both to show they put America first( Trump has already proven this in spades) and that they can work together if Trump chooses DeSantis as his VP. Never forget Trump will be a lame duck day one because he is limited to one term. To accomplish the Trump America First agenda the country needs a strong, determined and loyal successor to Trump. The challenge for DeSantis is to show he is Presidential material, loyal and MAGA . The challenge for Trump is to show he can work with other hard chargers.
Ron is not and never will be MAGA. He is owned by the globalists.
Ron has always been and will always be a WEF, Klaus Schwab GLOBALIST….100%!!!!!
Evidence for this?
I think Matt Gaetz would be a fine choice. DeSwampis can’t be trusted.
Actually – not having to run for re-election liberates PDJT to do all of the hard things a President worried about re-election might be reluctant to do.
Lame duck = nothing to lose.
Sadly DeSantis is not MAGA.
One of his major donors (Griffin) publicly said in an interview that he invested in DeSantis with the expectation that in return for his money DeSantis will get rid of the “populist movement” (MAGA)).
Since Mar-a-Lago DeSantis eliminated the word MAGA from his speeches and avoids refering to Pres Trump by name. When he was in Congress he proved himself a globalist when he voted for TPP.
Since the Mar-a-Lago raid
O’Keefe needs to send undercover operatives at all of Rhonda’s big donors.
Boy, that’s one big ball of yarn you’re spinning.
Too late, Ed. Once you do the dirty deed then you cannot undo it.
RDS has already shown his character relative to loyalty, as one who ‘presides’ over his state.
He did not show any effort in stopping the raid at the President’s home. PTrump is a citizen, a resident of the state where RDS is governor. He, as governor did nothing to protect a once President living in his own state.
He will never make up for that disloyalty. (And he could have even faked it, but didn’t! … says even more to me.)
The raid was for TV audiences only. In other words, it was a script to keep your mind busy. Nothing happened, but y’all got to debate whether he did something common or horrible for a long while, whilst your freedoms and health autonomy were being negotiated to be given away.
https://jamesroguski.substack.com/p/100-reasons
By that definition, loyal and MAGA, DeSantis has already lost.
Trump 2024,
everybody else wait till 2028.
In my opinion the elites have chosen the next GOP nominee and that will be DeSantis. It does not matter what we the people want any more. I will vote Trump, regardless if he is on the ballot. Donald J Trump will be my write in. They will install DeSantis and tell us that is who we voted for.
Amen, Granny. I voted for Ross Perot way back when and I will vote Trump however way I have to do it!
Trump was there in 2016 and 2020 because his elitist buddies chose him. They even talk about how they chose him. Bannon does. Bannon was doing someone else’s bidding. You all think that the globalists are all in the same room together? There’s two factions, always has been. The ones who want corporotocracy and the others who want light communism, by stealth known as socialism where you gradually give up your individuality for the collective. One is obvious, the other not so obvious. They struggle all the time at which way is best to global government and that is why the seeming discontinuity between the “free west’ and the “enslaved ”
Do you pay taxes? Well then you’re a slave.
MAGA is the greatest political group in my life time and NO Rove or Meathead or anybody else can stop it. It is growing every day.
The Democrats want Donald Trump to win the Republican nomination because they previously stated that: 1) Trump is very beatable, and 2) Biden will easily defeat Trump in the General Election. Those statements are all conjecture and rhetorical, of course.
But, the progressive’s political ground swell has begun to shift starting yesterday, March 5th. In this online article, the MSN.com media is conditioning the Democrat base to accept that Biden may not run. It’s a puff piece because they know Biden is in legal jeopardy and a political liability. If Biden doesn’t run for reasons the article artificially states, the author’s question is: who’s on deck? His preference is Michelle Obama.
What if Joe Biden Can’t Run for President? (msn.com)
In the article’s last paragraph, it’s obvious to see what the Democrat’s game plan is.
“As it stands all but one of the possible contenders listed above—Michelle Obama—stand little chance of winning.
In fact, I maintain that Joe Biden is still the best chance for the Democrats if the Republican nominee is Donald Trump (simply because Michelle Obama has not announced her run). If it is DeSantis or another Republican, things get murkier for the Democrats.”
The progressives are the party of Firsts. They win on that play of words. Running Michelle Obama is their plan to defeat Trump OR DeSantis–primarily because of their hatred for both men.
Make no foolish mistakes about blindly praising Trump or criticizing DeSantis. That nonsense plays into the Democrat’s narrative and is more destructive than the RedWave that never materialized in 2022. To win, Trump must show that he is NOT running on a revenge platform. It’s hard to blame him if he does that, but it’s not a winning strategy. His vision for the path forward is.
However, I remain surprised that this site attacks DeSantis as much as it does. Considering the other challengers on Trump’s path to winning the nomination, DeSantis is the one who is most like Trump policy-wise. Together, they are stronger than the alternative, positioned separately and divided. Let me be clear: if you want to HATE someone for challenging Donald Trump, stay united and point your hatred toward (all) Democrats.
You still believe in these elections in certain areas of the country?
We are the empire of lies!
Exactly – with AZ and GA practicing open election fraud not to mention PA and MI, not Republican ‘wins’ the whitehouse unless the Democrats agree to install them.
It’s like you never read any of Sundance’s posts here about the fundamental problems with DeSoros.
Yet you read MSN (LOL) and post about what they say here.
The Republican Party is divided on one big issue and that is the economy.
One side is pro globalism which has resulted in fewer middle class jobs and a non existing manufacturing base in this country. Economics is the national security issue of our lifetime. Either we are owned by foreigners like the WTO and China or we are not. Either America determines its economic future or we become a slave to the International community. Just take a gander at what the corporations in this country did during Covid and multiple it by a 1000 if MAGA loses this fight.
Woke is also an issue in this country but make no mistake it is not the big issue. That is economics, and that is either MAGA or the global corporate aligned RINO world. I don’t care how successful DeSantis is in the woke wars if he’s not MAGA, and it has become obvious that he has sided with the corporate globalists and their money.
Wake up!

https://buchanan.org/blog/the-civil-war-of-the-right-124676
Pat was always right and dead on about the economics, as was Ross Perot. Unfortunately, Pat came on a little strong with the culture wars, and the RINO’s and Left(Media) ganged up to bring him down. Same as they did to Ron Paul and tried to do with President Trump.(Charlottesville anyone). Well the strategy was a little different with Paul-they just made him out to be a lunatic old man who believed in conspiracies.
New here?
“They win on that play of words”
That may, or may not have been so in past elections.
It certainly hasn’t been the case in the 2020 and 2022 election cycles.
Republican voters have been disenfranchised, by way of of massive election fraud. Followed by an across the board denial of justice in court, by a cowed and corrupted judiciary that refused to let the evidence see the light of day.
Criminality “won” the last two elections, not words.
I do think a big mistake ‘our side’ meaning those in the alternative media has made has been not going after the Obama’s. I know we mention it, here yes.
They had that war-room didn’t they during PTrumps 4 years? Even created it before 45 was even sworn in. I’d love to read about what they were doing during that time, tweets/emails etc.
Oh well, you get my drift probably.
You seem to have everything wrong.
People who still say “maybe DeSantis could be VP” show that they haven’t really been following the critiques.
You seem to misunderstand what MAGA base wants.
And it’s certainly not someone who is willing to divide the MAGA base and back-stab the guy who got him where he is.
If you’ve got a snake in your house, you need to get it out before you fight what’s outside. And the snake has a bunch of acolytes in addition to a lot of perplexed people who are hearing the MSM/astroturf acolytes smears on Trump
Here’s a quick overview:
I’ve encountered a lot of people online who seem to have no idea who Ron DeSanctimoneous really is, and why the Republican party is desperately trying to push him to the forefront. They don’t understand that Washington Republicans would rather see DeSantis lose in the general, than to see President Trump win a second term.
The problem is this will be a national election. The votes have already been counted/fortified. The Republicans had a window to fix this in at least three of the problem states and they choose not to.
The democrats that don’t want Biden will vote for DeSantis. This will add more votes to DeSantis and blocking Trump
A straw pol for VP, Kari Lake takes top spot, she is a gem and would make a great president after Trump is no longer president.
What a joke…..a big tent new repub party that appeals to many blah blah blah…..that won’t be allowed to win, and they know it…..so, NO.
“The Republican Party needs to appeal to a younger, more ethnically diverse audience to maximize the ‘big tent’ size of the party.”…wouldn’t that eliminate Mitch…? Just askin’ for a friend.
Karl Rove, Nikki Haley, Chris Sununu, Mitch McConnell, Ronna McDaniel
Actually the only one that meets the above criteria would be Nikki. Go figure…
It’s all about the economy, personal freedoms and sovereignty of our country. Every policy the uni-party and enablers has proposed and/or enacted has had a negative detrimental impact on the US citizen and their families.
“It’s all about the economy, personal freedoms and sovereignty of our country.” THIS
Can I borrow this when talking to people about America First?
Ron DeSantis needs to stay in Florida for another term. He’s doing great things there. There will be time down the road. TRUMP isn’t finished his work yet.
Kari Lake as VP provided, she does not sell out to the billionaires seeing themselfs as elite
Over the weekend, former Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake came out on top in a straw poll for the Republican vice presidential pick during the Conservative Action Political Conference.
The poll results showed that Lake topped the field of 28 candidates with 20 percent of the vote, beating former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley as well as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis received 14 percent of the vote, and Haley, who announced her bid for the White House last month, won 10 percent.
I’m shocked that Haley didn’t poll a big fat ZERO. In all seriousness I am curious who would be a great VP and who carries the MAGA mantle in the future.
We need a VP that gives the Left second thoughts about trying to impeach or otherwise remove Pres Trump. Biden is protected from impeachment because no one wants Kamala to replace him.
We need an Ultra-MAGA VP as a shield against the Left trying to remove Pres Trump 47. Kari would be that. No one in the primary field, who Joe Dan refers to as “political opponent road kill” would provide that for Pres Trump 47.
VP doesn’t matter, they are figure heads, but I get that the ideological makeup be MAGA and not establishment. But even with the occasional vote when the Senate is tied, the shield is not the VP but instead voting for more MAGA candidates to the House and Senate.
This is my main worry, that even if Trump is reelected, the House and especially the Establishment Senate will block his MAGA agenda. I guess the only hope is that some of these ageless wonders fade away for some unknown REASON. Lord knows they never retire.
Yes the Senate, esp if McConnell is still in charge, can be counted on to frequently try to block our America First agenda. Guerilla warfare: there are some ways he can work around those blockages.
Specifically regarding Cabinet appointments which require Senate approval. Pres Trump can utilize the Vacancy Act of 1998 which allows him to appoint without Senate approval temporary Asst Directors for 210 days at a time. That time can be extended for an additional 210 days once he puts a nominee up for consideration by the Senate. After two rounds of rejected nominees, the 201 day period restarts and I believe from reading the Act at that point he may have to put in a new temp Asst Director. He can fill all his Cabinet posts with strong MAGA people this way.
—side note: think you misunderstood why I was saying the VP must be MAGA. Kamala protects Biden from removal because people perceive no gain in removing him if Kamala is his replacement –whereas if someone else was VP, the drums might be louder for impeachment.
In this same way an ultra-MAGA VP would protect Pres Trump from political and legal attempts at removal but much more importantly might protect his life as removing him would still leave our enemies with MAGA in the oval office.
“The populist counter-revolution that Francis proposed was not explicitly racial. In theory, Hispanic or black industrial workers were just as threatened by economic change and high taxes as their white co-workers. And the cultural values of Hispanic Catholics and black Pentecostals were just as challenged by liberalism as those of their white brethren.”

I will support him, no doubt. I also know 20 months is an eternity in politics and, at this point, I don’t see how he wins the election against the Demcommies in November of 2024 as a Republican. The people who oppose him are hard core with their stupidity and stupid cannot be fixed except in the grammar schools. Fat chance of that ever happening. I think the Repugs have already lost to the Communists and things will be completely FUBAR by then. Voting for Trump is still a no brainer for me, but I am not placing any bets on the common sense of The People.
Perhaps RDS can claim “hispanic” heritage and change his name to reflect his “real roots”. Ronaldo DeSantanista?? Reynaldo DeSanctamonioso?? Senor Meatball??
Instead of a regular book, next time he should put out a cookbook of recipes he got from his abuela (grandmother) with a forward that tells us how much he and his esposa, Casey, love to cook these dishes with their familia.
That should probably do the trick of getting the hispanic vote.
By hammering on the “younger” theme, the RINO’s are outright pointing out Buffoon Biden yet so subtly and indirectly reminding us of Trump’s age. It’s not working. Let’s get the Spanish folks to turn out and vote.
I don’t believe any of this matters if the plan is what I think it is:
I think the plan with all of this positioning and rebranding is to have DeSantis standing by. That’s it. DeSantis would be making a fatal mistake (and he knows it) if he challenged Trump outright. It’s an obvious loser right out of the gate.
So why are they investing so much into DeSantis? Why is DeSantis out there working to gain support in clear defiance of what most Republican voters want?
Two things come to mind: (1) Democrat defectors may likely be more attracted to DeSantis than Trump and (2) they plan to take Trump out “somehow” or in “some manner” such that DeSantis then “heroically” steps in and sacrifices his governorship for a “higher calling.”
We need to be watching out for things of this sort.
It’s a no brainer. Trump has already proven that he will do what he says even if he has to fight his own party to do it.
Trump has learned from experience who he can and cannot trust and how the system works.
Trump is the one who has built an army of Republican politicians who owe him for endorsing them, including DeSantis.
Trump is the one who got cheated, along with every single one of us who voted for him.
Trump is the one who has proven that he can handle anything the media trash throws at him.
There is no reason to go in a different direction unless you don’t really care about your country and your fellow citizens. The fact that Fox News and all the RINO’s are pushing DeSantis should only strengthen your resolve because we all know they are against us.
Yup, he’s spoiling his chances for 2028, which he will have deserved for being impatient. I can’t believe he hasn’t thought of that…Soros must have made him an offer he can’t refuse.
I don’t think DeSantis is that popular. He’s liked in FL by most Republican voters and a small percent of the small percent of people that watch FOX News.
Most people pay no attention to their own governor let alone the governor of another state.
And remember this is the most popular he will ever be because people don’t know him.
While this polling is encouraging, it is all moot. At least until we get our elections unF’d.
And the sorry fact is that those country club jerks run 90% of the elections.
Even in my rural precinct we are having a difficult time getting the “elite” pushed out.
I do like DeSantis as governor and want him to finish his term. However, I do keep in mind that if it weren’t for Trump, DeSantis would have lost his first bid as governor to a corrupt, gay crack smoker.
Not to mention, DeSantis is already in the pocket of a billionaire.
Donald Trump leads Ron DeSantis by a whopping 47 points (67% to 20%) amid the largest growing demographic group.
President Trump is the future of the Republican Party….
…. and they hate him for it.
That’s because the old white people who still control the levers of power in the GOP are the losers club whose mentality is shaped by the 40 years of permanent minority status 1954-1994. They’re happiest as the junior member of the DC racket. If they ever do find themselves in control of Congress and the presidency they behave like nerdy teenagers whose parents are gone for the weekend: Afraid if they have a party and there’s a stain on the carpet mom and dad will punish them. Being in charge scares them to death.
Link: The Republican Loser Mentality – The Rush Limbaugh Show May 9, 2017
“For 40 years prior to 1994 … the Democrat Party controlled the House of Representatives. The Republicans won with Newt Gingrich and the Contract with America in the ’94 campaign. One of my theories is that after 40 years of losing — and, believe me, they weren’t just defeated. In some cases, the Republicans barely were able to scratch 130 members together out of 435 in the House. They were mincemeat.
The Democrats, in many sessions of Congress, didn’t even let them into meetings. The Democrats said, “Look, why are you even showing up? You can’t stop us. We don’t care what you have to think. Go play golf.” The leader of the Republicans for many of these years, not all, was a guy named Bob Michel. He was the ranking Republican in the House. He was from Illinois, Peoria. He, after a while, seemed to be satisfied with being the ranking Republican. He was the leader of the losers.
It had its power base. It had its prestige. He was the leader. You could not say that they were the minority because of him, because he was from Peoria. He never ran nationally.
So the Republicans began to accept that they were losers. They began to accept that. Forty years of it, for crying out loud — and then one day, they won. I know this is going back to nineties. It’s one of my answers to your question. I think it’s — psychologically — a challenge.”
Daunting; however, not impossible.
The professional political class of the GOP are no more fact based on this than they were on the Covid-19 fiasco.
The only reason I am still registered as Republican is to vote for President Trump in the primary. I hate the gop club because they have shown time and time again that they hate me. When President Trump is no longer on the ballot I am leaving.
Donald Trump is the only legitimate candidate from either party running for President. The rest are just pretenders, most of which will fold well before election day. It is my opinion that rump is wasting his time debating any of them. Very good chance that Trump will not run a usual campaign leading up to the Nov. 2024 election. If the Republican Party tries to eliminate Trump as a candidate they will implement their own destruction and death.
Does it make a difference now that the Democrats (and Establishment, in general) can cheat on a massive scale with harvested “ballots” and get away with it?
Good old FAT BOY Chris Christie came out today and said that the low turnout at CPAC this weekend shows that Trump is losing support. I guess FAT BOY doesn’t know how to read polls.
It’s pretty simple. The Republican party is just an extension of the Democrat party. This illegal war in Ukraine, supported and instigated by the United States is a criminal action of unprecedented treachery. The constant lies and propaganda perpetrated in every media venue is complete garbage. Americans sit in front of their cable TV and suck up the lies like babies being fed Pablum formula. Is it any wonder that 220 million Americans lined up like dolts for their “life saving” vaccines! And then, incredibly, a majority of the fools continued to line up for more poison in the form of boosters! The lack of critical thinking is terminal.
Donald Trump. a decent man, ran for office on a “drain the swamp platform”. Unfortunately he surrounded himself with deep state swamp rats for advisers! While they were busy stabbing him in the back, he was constantly being loyal to them. It took him four years to figure out the obvious. This lack of judgement was devastating and many of his ‘appointees’ are still around today. His loyalists like Rick Grennell, Peter Navarro, Bannon and others were relegated to obscurity. Trump was fascinated by useless military generals and admirals with meaningless participation medals all over their uniforms. It’s a continuing legacy.
“WE” are now engaged in a war in Ukraine that is designed to weaken Russia by using Ukraine as our proxy. Well, guess what America, Russia is not Iraq, Syria, Libya, Serbia, Afghanistan or Vietnam. Russia has been begging for relief in Eastern Ukraine for years. The West lied and played Russia for time. Make no mistake, the United States is at the bottom of this war and is supplying money and weapons, and in return Ukraine supplies the blood. A great arrangement for the US Military Industrial, Political complex and American politicians.
There is one caveat to all this. Russia is NOT going to lose a war to anyone on its own border. Period! Americans have grossly miscalculated. So far the Ukrainians have been estimated to have lost 300,000+ dead military personnel. This army is trained, supplied, directed and wholly owned by Americans and NATO. They have been preparing for war with Russia for, at least, the last eight years. They are now losing. The Ukrainian military has lost an equivalent equal to the entire losses the suffered by the United States during WWII in both theaters of war!! All in one year! This is a particuarly vicious and deadly war. Biden and his uni-party lackeys, of both parties, have a lot to answer for. The world is beginning to wake up to the insanity and treachery of the West. Even some of our ‘allies’ are starting to wake up. Nord Stream was only one obvious piece of United States treachery, and was an Act of War.
Russia is not Iraq. One has to wonder? How is the corporate media going to spin this disaster to the average, non critical thinking American sitting in front of their TV waiting for their next dose of Pablum? I can’t wait.
There is no end to this ugliness. The politicians keep collecting their “campaign donations” from the corporate Military Industrial complex and everyone gets their palm greased. It’s a mutual arrangement that benefits everyone; except the millions that have been killed and disposed of through the years. But, hey, that’s just the price of doing business.
Sadly, we have no statesmen like many of those we produced in years past. This war should be stopped NOW and negotiations begun. The word ‘peace’ is no longer part of the lexicon. Unfortunately, the war mongers in Washington DC don’t get it and have truly bitten off more than they can chew. Again, make NO mistake, Russia is not going to roll over. They know they are fighting an existential threat to their existence and for their very survival. Americans are absolutely clueless! And that is where the real danger lies…..
“needs to appeal to a younger, more ethnically diverse….”
That’s why GOP needs Trump!! He DOES appeal to such groups.
Sundance, a lot of people, including here, think DeSantis is Hispanic. They’ve as much as said it.
Many think him to be Cuban-Anerican. Both mistakes are understandable.
However, the GOP knows he’s Italian-American. I think they’ve purposely NOT said that at ll hoping Hispanics would think him to be Hispanic.. That’s the silly thing. Hispanics know his last name is not “Hispanic.”
If the gope wants to appeal to “younger” more hip people, then maybe dinosaurs like Mitch McCockeyed should stepdown and stop pretending to be anything but a money grubber.
In a straight 2020 election, I predicted Trump was poised to take +20% of the black vote and +35% of Hispanics. This was arguably the Uniparty’s biggest motivation to steal it. Trump was about to shatter their contrived racial model in favor of a real economic model, putting the Uniparty out of business. They would no longer be able to use the ancient autocratic model of divide and rule, to have us fight each other rather than fight our rulers together.
Good point. A lot of stolen/switched votes were in black areas. Not sure how many voted for Trump but his popularity was certainly increasing. Even in CA

This woman, as well as every woman in my circle, supports Trump. We are some of his loudest, most tenacious defenders.
I knew from the moment he came down the escalator and spoke his intent that he was the President America needed. He didn’t disappoint. He empowered the American ppl and our nation as a whole, reversing the collective destruction of individual freedom.
Pres Trump inspired a rebirth of the patriotism that made this country the greatest nation on Earth. He allowed us to witness the depth of corruption and tyranny seeded thru-out EVERY branch of our federal govt. A fed govt whose only LAWFUL role, is to protect us from the same. Lying was not his issue. In fact, it was quite the opposite- The truth he told and continues to tell, threatens the wealth and power structure of those who wish us harm- here and across the world, He is brave and unafraid-
We must focus on election integrity. We all need to be involved.
The Establishment shouldn’t be inserting our President. Allowing them to do it again, will be the death of our nation. TRUMP2024
sundance, our CiC mentioned The Last Refuge and theconservativetreehouse.com this evening on TRUTH — regarding your ‘President Trump Crushes Ron’ article.
Congratulations!
This is occurring because increasingly people are AWAKE not AWOKE.
It is difficult to determine actual percentages with all the media and internet manipulation. Anyone observing the difference between the # at Trump rallies compared to the 6 Biden supporters in hula hoops knows 2020 was a fricking steal.

My pet peeve of the week. Every leftist says same phrase in the same knowingly loud and mocking tone “ Trump doesn’t know how to (fill in the verb – plan, lead, know how to count)” Its a litany that I assume is being repeated on leftwing sites and media.
I have seen similar written by the DeSantis “RINO right” as well.
I live in blue area so I am exposed to leftists everywhere daily. This is used as a kind of bonding conversational tactic to reinforce TDS. I can argue back or not. Nothing helps. It may be their way to identify me so I can be shunned. Which is fine. It is just disheartening when at a medical or business appointment and you hear that stupid phrase and must lose trust in that person’s intlligence and mental health.
No, I cant move right now.
