Let me qualify this post and question by saying this is something I have wanted to ask and write about for quite a while. I often ask this question to people I meet in general life discussion, and I am very interested to hear every response. Today is a great day to ask this…
Think back… So, you are living your life, doing what you and everyone familiar to you are doing in the ordinary and regular way of living your specific life.
Perhaps you paid some attention to the political comings and goings of things, perhaps not.
Perhaps like most comfortably invisible people you were just putting one foot in front of the other, and generally doing the day-to-day things that most would consider ordinary.
Then one day, for some unknown and likely not that consequential reason, something caught your attention. Something piqued your curiosity; perhaps you noticed something you wouldn’t ordinarily have noticed. Perhaps you heard something, or saw something, or were just in a situational space where something itched your brain as you looked at something, heard something or noticed something that just didn’t quite fit or sit right.
Perhaps that little something, or big something, caused you to look just a little bit closer at the story, event or moment with a little more curiosity than before. Perhaps you dug into that specific moment with a little more than a side-eye glance, and you noticed something. After looking at it a little closer, you realized that construct was not at all what it appeared to be on the surface.
From that moment forward, for the first time, you really started to question the ‘thing’ that was in front of you, and from that moment forward, you woke up to recognize that things around you, things you perhaps didn’t pay attention to before, were not what you thought they were. It was from this moment when you really started to pay attention and your political awakening began.
Question: When was that moment for you?
I am always amazed at the replies I get in real life to this question of when the individual awakening began.
For some it was at an early age, for others much later in life. For some it was recently, and for others it was a long time ago. However, for everyone there was that moment when it started, and it is completely unique to the individual.
So, on this day, Sunday February 19, 2023, a generally innocuous day in the grand scheme of things, I pose this question to everyone.
Yes, even all the CTH lurkers who read here and never join the conversation. The comment section is open for all replies with the general rules of on-line decorum still standing. Us old schoolers still use the early internet standards of on-line discussion, and CTH requests polite and civil conversation that enlightens, expands thinking and uplifts the audience.
I am genuinely curious and will be reading every reply because it’s really cool to see what that “moment” was for each person. I’m pretty sure the entire CTH community will also enjoy reading the unique replies to the question.
We all travel a different path. We all come from different, likely comfortably invisible, life experiences. And we all merge into this big melting pot of curious people who are looking deeply at the issues we face. Regardless of how each of us arrived here, the larger dynamic is that we likely share a common curiosity for the reality of our situation. It’s a safe bet to say that almost everyone reading this is in the top-tier of “high information” consumers.
My question is not what arrived you at The Conservative Treehouse, but rather what the moment was when you began looking around and realizing that things just didn’t seem to add up. That’s the origin of the journey. That’s the moment I am inquiring about.
Perhaps it’s a weird way of looking at CTH, but our fellowship is always what has been the most important aspect to this little corner of the internet. It’s not the content of the Treehouse, but the conversation on the porch that matters. You, the readers, friends, people who assemble here, are the important element. Not me and not the site admins.
That’s genuinely the way I have always looked at our fellowship, and that’s also the reason for every detail I put into keeping this little corner of the internet standing.
So, with that in mind, what was that moment in your life when you realized the social, political and/or media narrative, was not at all what it was presented to be?

I started to wake up watching Ross Perot 30 minute time slots for TV time. He brought NAFTA to light. I knew something was going in the wrong direction. Then 911 happened.
I am from the Vietnam era and the 1st Gulf War had me glued to the TV when it started, because I did not trust our government to wage a real war and I was going to become outwardly vocal when fit hits the shan. The only downside with this war was that Bush did not complete the complete defeat of Iraq. Then the World Trade Center the same feeling of I can’t let this go by, as I must know what is going on. So, Bush did prosecute the terrorists. Meanwhile we had Obama elected and the conservative media needed to toe the line for fear of being called “racists”. More listening to Rush.
Effectively when Trump got elected, I felt good for the first time in a long time and supported him as best I could. He effectively harkened me back to the Nixon era with his “punch back” attitude. This Trump person was long overdue as our leader. My first presidential election was in 1968 when I voted for RM Nixon. Trump gave as good as he got (way overdue for a Republican)!! During the political theatre in the House of Representatives, it became obvious the Dems would never accept Trump. Trump’s “fake news” mantra worked! During this time, I read and listened to as much as I could and finally found my own political footing. I really am an independent because the Tea Party was sabotaged by Republicans. That was it. SO, many questions:
Now, I find myself reading CTH because your thoughts align with my 60-year history of trying on my own to understand things logic tells us are true, but politics says something else and typically, I do not understand. Whereas you make sense!
QUESTION: Who said that the 2-party system is what we need? It is not in the Constitution!

I have been awake since the early 90’s. Way back in the time of Ruby Ridge and then Waco and the OK City bombing. I worked with a man who was a US Navy vet. I was right out of college when we met. He cleared the fairy dust from my eyes and allowed me to see the real story of what was going on. The truth about the world. I still remember our discussion of the book “Creature From Jekyll Island”. So many lies revealed to me by this one man that are in full view over the past few years. And oddly enough, he is now one of the worst raving libby crazies that I know because of his hatred of POTUS Trump pre-2016. Insanity. Thanks for everything!
I should have been clearer. As a Junior in college in 1983 I came across a book. “None Dare Call it Treason” by John Stormer. It was then I started to understand the lies we were told.

In about 2009 “Climategate” emails were released by a whistleblower. It caused a sensation amongst those who were following the climate scam (see Wattsupwiththat) and people downloaded them and lots of discussion on the internet occurred. I used to do a daily search on google for fun to see the total numbers climbing of sites and mentions.
One day I was astounded to see the numbers falling. Daily those numbers shrank.
There was an outcry and Google gave some weak excuse but they were caught manipulating the numbers and trying to bury the story.
I also caught my then Internet provider TPG blocking my access to sites which were sceptical of the Green Agenda.
However years and years before that I met at a small seminar of about 15 people a mathematical gentleman who had written a book about how he didn’t think the 6 million jews incinerated could be the correct number as the original ovens weren’t big or efficient enough.
That gentleman ended up in jail at one stage, banned from various countries, and Germany enacted legislation to ban and discussion on this subject.
Now note, he didn’t say it was a hoax or didn’t happen, just that the numbers were inflated.
That was the big wakeup call for me, to see this man’s treatment by authorities.

As a lifelong Democrat, I could not vote for HRC in 2016 but did not want to vote for Trump. After much reflection and prayer, I ended up voting for DJT. I ended up watching the election results (for the first time) and Wolf Blitzer red-pilled me. I couldn’t believe how he and all the others were blatant in their push for Clinton. The panic in their voices and looks on their faces as they were calculating ways she could still win showed me their true colors. It changed everything for me and I started questioning everything, a little bit at a time. So I can truly thank Wolf Blitzer for opening my eyes and I am glad I voted for Trump in 2016.
1999 as a consultant for a major banc’s Y2K project… i started questioning whether this was a manufactured crisis and then researched 3 decades back what seemed to b similar manufactured crises. I’m sure this will be lost in the noise, but I’ll offer it anyway.
First time I noticed something wasn’t right was when I answered a survey on the issues for the G.W. Bush/John Kerry presidential election. The answers displayed on the 20 questions showed both candidates VOTED identically… i.e., the campaign positions were not true positions, and they were identical.
That lead to sniffing around, and then my smoking gun: The Downey Street Memo. In that one, British equivalent of Sec of State wrote a memo to the UK PM saying the Americans had decided to invade Iraq and were fixing the data to the policy. As with all things against Trump and COVID narratives, I learned of the fact 2+ years before the Wash Post printed it.
I’m an engineer, highly skilled at managing a team of engineers that solve complex, imperfect problems every day. I use an engineering process to solve those problems… analyze data, predict possible options and their outcomes, decide and execute. oh, and I analyze the outcome versus the prediction. Do that for 30+ yrs, your predictions get better.
Apply said problem solving to things that happen and stories used to “explain them,” and you have no choice but to become red pilled. 9/11 never looked right with the perfect demo of the buildings. And that lead to the conflict of interest with the trillions of DoD $$ missing from the first ever audit. And the investigation into banking scandals, all of which had documents in tower 7.
At that point, I had zero trust in any of it. I wanted source documents, raw data. It became clear the people speaking for agencies and politicians were either not experts or were lying. Either way, give me data I can verify. And guess what the Downing Street Memo taught me? You can often get more or completely accurate data on U.S. events in foreign countries. And that lead into all the b.s. about Trump. Lawsuit in UK revealed Steele Dossier was total b.s.
And because I knew the Fed lied about smoking, lied about cancer, and often suddenly lied about dangers of totally natural plant-based substances that offered healing instead of symptom masking, I knew to question the COVID narrative.
Best lesson I ever learned: Trust but verify while always remaining very suspicious of conflicts of interests. The more $$ involved, the more important the conflicts of interest.

And you answered a question someone else posted “what was in building 7?” The Towers were the distraction to cover up # 7 as I’ve never really heard anything about that -other than there were more buildings besides the Towers that fell that day – until reading the comments today.
2009 while working on the check-the-box Master’s Degree that the AF said I needed to get to make rank (and also paid for with taxpayer money). I think it was regulatory capture that I was studying for an MBA, and what I was reading conflicted completely with what I knew of the Constitution and the founder’s intent. Once you see one big disconnect, you start seeing them everywhere, and realize that the Constitution is already mostly yesterday’s garbage. Heck, I attended a military Academy and I can tell you that even back then, the Constitution that we swore an oath to protect and defend was not discussed in any kind of detail by any of our instructors. I didn’t think a thing of it at the time because I just assumed that everyone had the same understanding of what they were signing up for, but it now shows by the grads who will boldly tell you that the Constitution is problematic and will gladly support the federal government over it as long as their party is in charge and the MIC is being funded. Thankfully the good Lord carried me through my time in the sandbox, but I sure wish I would have heard of USMC General Smedley Butler before I signed up.
Shortly after that, I began to realize that while I was busy for years fighting and training to fight a wasteful and ill-advised war, our societal norms had changed drastically for the worse, and that that our greatest enemy was at home. That really ticked me off.

For me to paraphrase, gradually at first then suddenly.
The gradual was being taught to question everything you were told, to think for yourself and to read the other side of the story.
The coverup on the My Lai Massacre was probably the first distinct event that made me doubt “official” story lines.
Being a young intern at a prominent Baltimore law firm- I saw the petty local corruption first hand. Later working at a senior level in banking, I had a front row seat to the coordinate corporate corruption that is our global finance system.
But it wasn’t until Covid, J6 and Ukraine that I saw the evilness’ that permeates every fiber of our government threatening all that is good.
I’m 74, Vietnam was all the wake up needed. We the people have had little or no ability to steer the country since then. Dual citizens have taken over our politics and our banking(money issuance) and that’s all it took. Corporatocracy hasn’t helped.

My awakening began in the 60’s. Race legislation that was not supposed to be quotas. Also gun legislation. I bought my first handgun at a gas station using a paper drivers license and cash and walked out with the handgun. I was a part of the RVN war and saw them frittering away lives that later seemed to be a deflection from all the authoritarian legislation they kept passing. A license or permit is required to do most anything and it didn’t matter who was president when it was all passed. More useless wars to deflect from more controlling legislation. Eventually, Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump appeared to be the only honest brokers. We are facing decades of recession/depression as the long term business cycles look ugly. The beginning was in the early 60’s with the Bay of Pigs and Cuban missile crises My uncle was See Eye Aye in the 50’s and 60’s. He said they really screwed up the intelligence. After a deep dive into the Kennedy assassination and the Warren Commission, I didn’t think there was much doubt about the government.
My mentor growing up was a Brooklyn born yellow dog Democrat and a “string puller” in our state politics. Probably in the mid 70’s, he made a comment about Kennedy. I remember it word for word to this day.

This is my second post on this thread and as I thought about it some more I do remember Ronald Reagan, in I believe it was his inaugural speech, said:

During the Bush/Gore recount in Florida I was appalled watching the method of recount.
“Hanging chads” trying to verify if the voter had punched the hole hard enough so if the paper was not hanging enough it did not count as a vote!

When Al Gore appeared to be winning they stopped the count and the Supreme Court swooped In declared Bush Jr: the winner that shocked me. They had decided who the winner was going to be from the start and just like Trump were not prepared enough with their voter shenanigans.

The fact that there’s been no real reform and integrity with the voting process speaks volumes and is not difficult to understand.

I remember watching tv in my living room one night in the early 90’s when George H. W. Bush uttered “New World Order” with a smirk on his face. I found that highly disturbing and suspect. Then Bill Clinton was discovered to have been selling weapons secrets to China. Many other things did not add up over the years. January of 2020 was the rudest awakening and one dig led to another and another. The shock of the depopulation goals I will probably never get over.
Mine was in the 6th grade, 1964…I had moved from a very religious city heavily Catholic and strong Protestants…prayer was still practiced in our public schools…Christmas carols sung together, all Fridays were recognized as meatless,not just during Lent. Then I moved to the next town over mid-year, I remember how weird it was my first day as I bowed my head waiting for the morning prayers, after awhile I looked up and everyone was just seated at their desks until the teacher asked us to stand for The Pledge of Allegiance. No prayers and no patriotic hymn of any kind was offered. I to this day remember the pit in my stomach and the strangeness that ensued over that town until my graduation day. I don’t see visions but I could sense an evil turning almost a curtain coming down on an act in a play only to rise to another hideous act that has never ended to this day. It was many years later I learned of Madelyn Murray O’Hara who was responsible for the removal of school prayetand Bella Dodd who was responsible for infiltrating the Catholic Church with Communists and immoral”seminarians”.
Looking back, even as a sixth-grade student the darkness was and is to this day palpable. This is a battle royal between the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of darkness…there is no longer a middle anything.

My first hint was Waco – I was packing to move from Brooklyn to Atlanta, it was my daughter’s first birthday. I knew things weren’t right. But my real wake up that there was something serious wrong was when my son was in 1st grade and I found out about Outcome Based Education. This was 1994. I bought every book I could find. like Not With My Child You Don’t.
I discovered (because now I was in the south) Phyllis Schlafley’s Eagle Forum was very actively against it. I signed up to get her newsletters which I still have. I went to meetings. I put flyers in my neighbor’s mailboxes.
This is when my journey began. I knew there was a “they” and it was them who were trying to change our children.
I was not successful in gaining traction among people I knew.
Several things…when Hillary Clinton’s first trip as Sec State under the community organizer, Barack Obama, went to Mexico and came back declaring that thousands of deaths occurred in Mexico due to guns from America. American guns killing another country’s citizens by the thousands had never been an issue before and suddenly she brings it up out of the blue. THEN we learn of the death of Brian Terry, and Fast and Furious gun running op is exposed. THAT’S when I began to understand the hell that BO brought upon the world, Saul Alinsky on a global scale.
From there, I realized EVERYTHING these evil people do is nothing but astroturf global community organizing to aggregate power to control every aspect of our lives.

On the Taiwan question”the U.S. side needs to respect history and the facts, abide by political commitments”.
We know the Biden administration can definitely be trusted to stick up for freedom against tyrannical regimes; because the U.S. State Department says, “The United States has a longstanding one China policy… We oppose any unilateral changes to the status quo from either side; we do not support Taiwan independence” .
In 2004 while house-hunting in Houston, Texas. Looking at public school rankings. Looking at why some were better than others, asking “why is the presence of many apartments associated with lower performance in public schools?”.
Next looking at demographics. Noticing the big demographic shift of increase in so-called generic “hispanic” (actually Mexican) over a ten-year period from 1993 to 2003 from only a few percent to nearly 25%, the period after legal immigration ballooned to One Million per year in 1991.

It happened when I began listening to Rush Limbaugh and started to think and question everything I thought I knew. It dawned on me shortly after that that the bureaucracy is the permanent government. Presidents, representatives, senators, and supreme court justices all come and go, but the bureaucracy goes on forever. It all seemed to work sort of ok, so long as they weren’t coming after me. Then there was 9/11 and the Patriot Act was passed. I knew right away that nothing in our nation would ever be the same. Our representatives and President Bush created the most draconian law since the Sedition Acts.
With the stroke of a pen, our government made everyone in our country a suspected terrorist. Oh sure, they told us it was to protect us from another terrorist attack. They told us that we should go on with our lives. They told us not to worry, they only have our best interests as their mission. They lied. They spread the lie like sugar in a fly trap. And the bureaucracy grew more powerful and unaccountable. It’s still powerful and unaccountable. And, I suspect, that people may well read the rest of the Declaration of Independence to see what Jefferson said people should do when things get bad.

It’s not absurd to suggest we may be approaching the brink of such a decision.
My dad raised me to ask questions and not just go along with the crowd. He took me to a Barry Goldwater rally in Mesa, Az. I voted for Ross Perot and helped Bill win the presidency.
Fast forward, my husband and I believed in the TeaParty and attended several rallies, just to watch it be shut down.
For my husband and I the aha moment was when Obama won his second term after Benghazi and watched the Republicans pretend. We scratched our heads and kept hoping for our party to do something.
Enter Donald J Trump. We had never watched the Apprentice, didn’t really know anything about him and liked Scott Walker and Herman Cain. However, when he declared and we started listening, that was it. I found Sundance and this site, got on the Trump train and made calls all over the country. All my family said he would never win, but I knew he would, because he spoke to me, an uneducated, smelly Walmart deplorable and there were millions more of me. We attended a rally, flew the Trump flag proudly and were over the moon when he won.
And then the filthy and evil CIA, FBI, fake news, RINOs and you know the rest……happened, and with all of the truth on this site, we were awakened and can never look back. And then President Trump and all of us were robbed of his win in 2020. And on and on it goes, January 6th lies, woke military, vaccine mandates, open borders, murdering unborn children………honestly, we can only live joyfully because we love God, follow his teachings and move forward, ever learning. After being a tear gassed in college as a Marxist, K made a slow slow drift to Republicanism. I got my picture taken next to Mittens Romney when he ran for President. And all this time, I thought things were on the up and up. And then along came Trump – my fourth choice for Republican nomination. I think it was the disconnect between his obvious overwhelming success and the way he was treated that woke me up and made me begin to truly question. It became as simple and silly as why isn’t Melania on the cover of Vogue? — I paid my taxes – a lot of them – I voted, I donated – and then I realized: they really really don’t care about you. — I think the challenge for many of us is to push past the cynicism and not forget: this isn’t about them – it’s about all the rest of us.-
Not only was Melania NOT on the cover of Vogue, I was traveling in the days just after the 2016 election, and not one Newstand at our airports featured our new President on their so-called ‘mainstream’ magazines covers. NOT. A. ONE.
I was dying to read all about our newly elected President. But the newsstands had nothing to report about our PRESIDENTIAL election??
Later I learned that all the rags had Hellary’s mug all ready to go to press. I’m sure those stories that went to the dumper were all nauseating, gushing, patronizing propaganda.

After a stint on active duty in the Army in the late 80’s, I started paying attention to politics when I managed an apartment complex in Madison, WI. It was free rent for my wife and I while I went to college. It was hard work while trying to study and work another job, yet seeing the left wanting to give away everything I worked for to someone who refused to work.
My eyes were opening when getting ready to deploy to the Gulf War when we were given our vaccines, and military medical people refused to note the shots given in my official shot record. I had still believed in the military at that point.
The real eye-opener then was coming home from the Gulf War. Prior to deploying, it seemed like everyone you met was supportive in providing whatever was needed to get the job done. Once back in the states, I had to stay on active duty for medical care. It was shocking the change in attitude since I was now a burden on the Active military. I noticed this when going for a pre-surgery appointment one day when the civilian clerk asked for my unit address. I gave it to her, then she noticed the gray dot at the top of my medical paperwork which signified I was a Reservist, and not to be believed when asked any medical questions.
I can still picture her face when she discovered I was a Reservist.
It should have been a red dot on my paperwork, but I made copies of the originals and used those copies when going to appointments.
The biggest eye-opener has been and still is the whole “WMD in Iraq” thing. Watching John Deutch on 60 Minutes blatantly lying about whether Saddam weaponized any of his WMD agents. Watching government officials blatantly lying about it and many more things that went on over there. No weaponization changed into “well, he may have weaponized some, but they were never deployed.”
Denials of any health problems were constant until 1997 when Charles Deulfer testified before Clintons Presidential Advisory Committee in Chicago. At the hearing, he played a video his team made when they encountered a certain site in southern Iraq, and found hundreds of 122mm rockets loaded with Sarin nerve agent. He testified they were leaking so badly, his team found it unsafe to continue their inspection.
A few years later, I purchased a book from the UN web site about all of the UNSCOM inspections conducted after the Gulf War. It was shocking to read how many types of chemical warfare agents were found by these inspections, and even more shocking to see how many types of biological agents were produced, and which weapon systems these were loaded into, including 155mm artillery shells sold to Iraq by the US during their war with Iran.
The most shocking was to find how many US military members were on this team, and had known since the end of the war what was being found.
Within weeks of that hearing, the US government was admitting up to 100,000 could have been exposed to chemical agents.
The problem for us was it was the era of Clinton and Lewinsky, and the media was NOT going to report on too much that caused problems for Clinton. Besides, he wanted to ignore Iraq at that point, and appease crooked governments around the world with his “Oil for food” nonsense.
To this day, millions and millions still believe Saddam had no WMD’s at all.
The VA still sucks.
When I read a Mother Earth News article on “gold bug” Ron Paul. I was amazed at this guy wwhomade so much sense…but was, alas, in Texas. Inch slowly forward to HWBush who creeped me out with his giggling “NWO” speech (who voted for THAT??), hilariously, I had no idea of his CIA background. I was clueless, but working, having children, etc. Voted for rapist Bill, but had misgivings over the rape charges, but thought, naaah, why would he have to rape anyone ?(still clueless and naive). Voted for Shrub out of horror over Slick Willie and the mounting body count, and Shrub’s lies about “humble foreign policy”. Stopped voting after obvious 9/11 false flag and the totalitarian “Patriot Act” (targets Patriots). Stopped flying. Saw creepy things going down at kids’ skool, began waking up. Researched school reform, read Samuel Blumenfeld, John Taylor Gatto, watched Charlotte Iserbyt on youtube and I was red-pilled. I knew then skool was the key. Years of dumbing down and brainwashing with lies and behavior modification, constantly reinforced in the “media”. It took several more years before I understood who was behind it all, and that the country had been sold out from under us, and is being handed over to barbarians…but I am not allowed to say who that is.
It was sometime in the 1990s or early 2000s. I recall that CBS had been running a series of stories on some hot topic through the week. On Friday, they announced the results of a new poll on that topic. Amazingly, the poll showed a large uptick in support for whatever the govt position was on it.
Up to then, I perceived news shows as providing information and unbiased analysis.
My eyes were opened. I saw clearly that the network had been plumping for the govt position all week and then sealed it with a poll (possibly fake) showing viewers what the correct thought were.
The other event was the Democrat hypocrisy in the Monica Lewinsky affair. Up to that point I had been a mild but consistent Democrat. I saw in the Lewinsky matter that it was all about protecting the Clintons no matter what the cost to the nation and its institutions.
When the Russian hoax began, I Google for information and The Conservative Treehouse showed up. I began reading the site and have been awake ever since. Thanks Sundance and your team and all of you the readers/commenter.
i was reading at a college level by age 9. in the early 1980’s there’s was the ‘1984’ scare and the cold war was at it’s early 80’s height. as an early pre-teen reading war history and sci-fi, i was scared to death of nuclear war. i read about it, read books about surviving it (though i knew living in houston i would not).
that led to reading about the politics of the cold war and becoming aware of politics in general as a result.
it helped to have teachers in school who actually taught things like history and civics (basic politics-govt). nuclear war didn’t happen, thankfully.
by the time i could vote in 1988 for the first time, i was interested in politics enough to attend the libertarian party convention in Houston that year, meeting Ron Paul in a small hotel banquet room. it wasn’t so much ‘libertarianism’ that attracted me, but the idea of a very limited, originalist Constitutional government. Through the years, I’ve voted for some Democrats and some Republicans, generally whoever i thought would not be as much a rapist. It’s been a an idiom i’ve heard my entire life that ‘your vote doesn’t matter anyway’.
given that it nothing seems to change for the better when we elect EITHER ‘party’ (faction) or anyone within them (trump and few others excluded), I have chosen to no longer participate.
voting now for the ‘lesser of two evils’ is still a vote for evil. i no longer think rigged ‘elections’ have a chance to right the listed and sinking ship. hope i’m wrong.
complacent voters sat too long on the sidelines, and the way people behaved during covid demonstrated they’d bow down to whatever tyranny reared it’s ugly head. those 2A ‘three percenter’ types included.
there are terrible times ahead and i wish the best of luck to you all. hopefully events happen in a way that enable us to rebuild anew after the fall. i don’t place much hope in humanity, though.

I fully started paying attention while I was at my university in the early 1990s.
Prior to the that, I was fully acceptance of the liberal, Democrat propaganda. That’s my family history. I have family members that were strong Democrats to the point one was considered an elder Democrat, civil rights, labor statesman in North Texas. That person, my uncle, died, and testimony after testimony showed that.
By the time he died, I had already flipped and started flipping again.
Yes, I went from Democrat to Republican, liberal to conservative in college all due to Roe v Wade. At that time, information was harder to come by, but it could still be researched.
When you go to the references for the Supreme Court’s opinion, you truly come to the realization that they, the US Supreme Court, mischaracterize, misrepresent and cherry pick those cases and even history all the while ignoring any countervailing evidence. Heck, they denigrated the Hippocratic Oath as just being from a small sect of Greeks.
That was eye opening.
So, I went full Republican and conservative. I fully supported the 2nd invasion of Iraq. I supported the Patriot Act. Here and elsewhere. On Lucianne I did it as 3M_TA3 till they figured out what that reads in a mirror. I might have been that here long ago, I don’t remember.
I started to change, though, with the Patriot Act or thereabouts. I was in the Navy Reserve during the Gulf War, got out, and went back on after 9-11. I have medals for the Gulf War and the War on Terror, amongst others.
Jumping forward, I don’t consider myself Democrat/liberal or Republican/conservative. Matter of fact, I hate all those labels and the strings attached. I am both of those. I am neither, but both exist in me.
Worse, I hate both political parties and both political viewpoints because they don’t give a flip about me, an average American who does believe in my country and Constitution, but only on what power they can gain.
9/11 taught me that the MSM working in conjunction with Government, outright LIE and think we are cattle. But it wasn’t until I learned about the Great Pyramid and how most, if not all of “Egyptology” is a lie on a grand scale, so that got me asking, “What else have they lied about and why?” The answers are laid bare for all to see if you will just look.
My political awakening was when jfk was murdered. I was 7 at the time.
If you remember tho old TV show with Micheal J Fox as the suit wearing conservative kid in a liberal family, well I was that kid.
At 16, in my history class I defended the use of ICBMs and explained the ‘arch over the arctic’ scenario to my class mates. This was the USSR war plan of the time.
Now, in my dotage, I refuse to kneel to the corruption coming from DC.

I have always paid attention to politics. I read far and wide beginning in high school. Went through a liberal fog during college, but quickly recovered when I began working.
I cried driving home the afternoon the OKC building blew up, cried again on 9/11. Supported W, Romney (spit) McCain(spit) Drove to Russell, KS to see Bob Dole announce Kemp as his VP. I tuned into Rush in the mid 90’s. Miss him so much.
I can see that Sundance is doing something Rush would do here. Asking a question and then opening up the phones to let his listeners share. And in sharing the journey we have each been on, we share our grief, our rage, and yes, our cold anger. But then we stand re-committed to keep questioning. Keep fighting in whatever way we can to hold on to what it means to be an American and be free.
I found CTH when Rush made a reference to an article in 2015. I came to the site, read about the splitter strategy and it was like scales falling from my eyes. I went back and read everything in the archive. I can honestly say I never saw the strings pulling the marionettes, now I CAN NEVER UNSEE THEM.

In the late 90s, I had some time on my hands between jobs and set out to debunk the conspiracy theories of an Alex Jones fan I often ridiculed. For decades, I’d accepted the verdict of the Warren Commission re: JFK. Researching online, I encountered the testimony of Fletcher Prouty and soon found Carol Quigley and the history of the Anglo-American establishment. That began my awakening. For the open minded, the evidence is overwhelming.
I started “listening” when Ronald Reagan was President. But the “light bulb moment” for me was Bill Clinton. I didn’t like him from the start. But when Hillary Clinton said “I’m not Tammy Wynette baking cookies…,” I thought who the hell do these people think they are. I have been paying sharp attention ever since.
It was when the obvious PoS, Slick Willie, was elected. He and his despicable wife were clearly criminals. When the republicants ran Dole against him in ’96 it was apparent that they were in on the scam.
For me, it was 9/11 and the events that immediately followed. No sooner did the event occur, the US government knew who did it without an investigation, Afghanistan was invaded and occupied, and the Patriot Act was passed. Anthrax spores were sent to Senators in envelopes and were immediately blamed on Al Qaeda. Other interesting events like Senator Paul Wellstone’s plane going down after coming out vociferously against the Patriot Act. The 9/11 Whitewash Commission that refused to seriously regard that most of the alleged hijackers were Saudi nationals and had no connection to either Afghanistan or Iraq- two countries we invaded and occupied. The commission also failed to look at the evidence of trading activities on Wall Street ( shorts and put-buying ) which suggested foreknowledge of the event. Then there was the presence,of thermite at the explosion site, which is suggestive of an implosion. The entire sequence of events had the marks of an operation whose targets were Americans more than Islamic extremism.
The day my zip code suddenly got a Democrat in Congress…. how could that be possible?

Hurricane Katrina
I cast my first vote for President Reagan in his second term. I was so proud to be an American. Rush Limbaugh guided me daily and at first all the strange ideas the liberals were touting seemed funny. There’s no way people are going to go for this. Yet, here we are. Gay Marriage is considered normal and there are 57 genders. The culture of death that Pope John Paul II warned us about is all around us. When Obama was elected, I was certain he would not get a second term. When he did, I knew no one was coming to save us and the fundamental transformation of our country was set in stone. Still, I hoped and prayed and thought Trump’s 2016 election was going to mark the beginning of an American renewal. And then the coup happened and the Covid lockdowns that brought the whole world to a standstill. I realized my government was really trying to kill me. At that point, I knew I didn’t have anything else to lose. I am fighting for the survival of America and our Constitutional Republic. No one is coming to save me but Jesus and he demands my human agency. We are in an epic spiritual battle and no one is getting out alive. I am no longer afraid. I was born for such a time as this.
We live in amazing times indeed. I didn’t even know how afraid I had always been watching things go wrong until I found freedom in Christ. We are ordered not to be afraid! What a beautiful blessing!!!

I was eight years old, sitting alone on the sofa (odd that no sibling, 8 of them, or either parent was there. I thought, “I am responsible for myself.” I’d already begun reading the letters to the editor and syndicated columnists of the day.
First of all, you’ve got a LOT of reading to do, Sundance! I hope and pray you have time these days to do just that–and can take a break from your ongoing hurricane recovery work.
My awakening was gradual–and, I confess, is still ongoing. What initially turned me on to the “everything ain’t what it should be in politics” is the hostility of the media towards all Repubs and the “let it slide” attitude toward all things Dem. In particular, I first really noticed this in the way Bill the Hustler was treated versus Bush. That animosity sent me elsewhere for more honest news than what I was getting from the alphabets and FOX. From there, I began questioning why the Dems always seemed “to win” and the Repubs always seemed “to loose”–even when we held the House and Senate (during the Ovomit years).
In fact, when Romney was running, I believe it was, I kept pointing out on various conservative sites (including here) that simply winning the presidency wasn’t going to help because we had no way to hold our representatives accountable and make them pass the laws that we wanted passed. Then, Sundance, you began explaining the “Uniparty” and it all made sense (although in all fairness, you likely had been talking about it for years and I missed it).
After the big steal of 2020, I quickly realized that voting was NOT the answer to our problems. And most recently, I have seen how satan is setting up the systems for the end time tribulation period. That, of course, means America has to change drastically. And yet, . . . we are the “Resistance,” (what the Bible calls “the Restrainer,” whom I believe is the Holy Spirit working in and through us to put the brakes on satan).
I grew up in suburban Pittsburgh in a very red township but my parents were Democrats and I could never understand why. They always sided with unions and they were never in a union. I would argue with them about how self serving union leaders were and how they were lining their pockets with gold from union members dues. That was the start of my journey towards CTH. I now live in Kansas and find the small town that I live in more to my liking both spiritually and politically. However, I feel the “blue noose” starting to tighten even here. I pray to Our Lord and Savior Jesus every day to help this country be at peace…His peace that He gave us. God bless America
Things been fishy for a long time. I left the Truman show for good when Benghazi was blamed on some doofus making a video. Totally implausible, and Susan Rice went to the UN to lie. The UN countries have their own intelligence services, and new we were lying. It was totally humiliating to proclaim to the world that we are led by criminals. I was late in realization on how broad scale the lies are. In hindsight, it is embarrassing how much of a fool I was. It will be interesting when China sets down in the Sea of Tranquility for no other reason but to prove the USA is a hoax.
