My only (older) brother died at age 27 from a rare and aggressive lymph cancer. He went from healthy to dead in 5 months, despite being treated at Stanford Medical Clinic (they were awesome). I was utterly shattered. My brother literally saved my life from our awful childhood with a single alcoholic parent … I won’t go into detail. But I have never, ever, ever, thought to USE my brothers death to further my agenda(s). I can’t think of anything more vile and self-serving than USING the cancer death of a loved one for personal aggrandizement.
I’m literally weeping as I write this because I still miss my brother SO much … and it’s only been 41 years since his death. You wanna know what messes with your mind … burying your only brother when you’re 25 years old. It tends to shatter any illusion you had about “guarantees” in life.

I thought Sarah’s comments about the “new generation” were directed at the likes of Mitch, Nancy, Feinstein, Biden and septuagenarian and octogenarians or otherwise long time, establishment swap dwellers rather than PDJT, who, by way of her story at the end of her talk is someone she clearly reveres. There’s no way she will choose another candidate as long as PDJT is in the race.

I listened to her response and it was reasonable. The press were trying to corner her right after her election for headlines and she rightly said she was focused on – to paraphrase – getting settled into her brand new job.

DeSantis needs to stay in Florida. There is still a lot to fix there and make it firmly Red. He has plenty of time to run. This next one is Trumps but he needs us to beat the MACHINE. It is still in place in most states.

Just as easy to ‘interpret’ her remarks with regard to the entirety of the old guard in Congress, no? Her response to the State of the Union was not the venue to start pitching MAGA, etc. I reserve judgment, and suggest that we all do until there is something other than our emotional ‘interpretation’ to base our opinion on.

With my ‘tin foil hat on’ I can entertain the possibility that the Republican Party is putting Huckabee into the ‘national stage’ for a reason. She was extremely popular and well spoken when she was press secretary. It’s certainly possible that the Republicans are placing her into the DeSantis camp, for viable Republicans that will potentially assist in diverting attention away from Trump. It’s possible. So I wait and see……

I have often thought of the Huckabees as Fox News Republicans.
The speech gets edited and pre-approved by a consortium of members of the professional Republican club (RNC, NRCC, NRSC, RGA, etc.), so who knows what intention, if any, Sarah had behind that line. Compared to Dementia Joe, Trump is young and vibrant. I look forward to POTUS running circles around his “youthful” counterparts on the debate stage.
