Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

“Mama’s Apron Strings” makes me cry. Brings memories afresh of sweet years gone by of grandmothers and precious mother-in-law, wearing aprons sunup to sundown. That one apron personified many things, too, but mostly? Love.
Love and tender care for their family. Those times were precious.
Thank you, J.
I remember moms apron and many others that I’d pulled the strings 😁😁

Hello All!
I have a sincere question for whoever may be interested. I do accept, that the things I write aren’t exactly where everyone else is at. We all have our own experiences and how we try to navigate this life. Also, I do understand that the things I write are very long, and likely a big turn off to many for that reason. Of course that is not what I want to do, to turn anyone off, that otherwise would be open to these things. So my question/request is, How bad is it? and what are some constructive criticisms? For I do want to be a blessing with the way the Lord has blessed me. Thank you for your time
Hi Michael,
Just going off of your post from yesterday to critique, to me it reads like a magazine article or a thoughtful blog post. It’s intellectual. Which means, it could theoretically be published, or self-published, somewhere. And your post did receive some likes. (Actually, when I first saw it, I wasn’t clear if you were the author or if you were reposting an article from somewhere.)
The thing is, the serious tone of the article does not in my opinion lend itself to the kind of cheery, non-serious banter that often transpires here in the Open thread. Which is not necessarily a bad sign … you could view it as, people didn’t respond out of respect … they didn’t want to make “small talk” in response to your larger thoughts.
What does seem kind of a shame too is how people will quote a famous religious writer, and that will generate more comments than a Treeper posting an original religious piece that he’s written himself … just something I seem to notice, and it goes way beyond the Treehouse, it just tends to be human nature to follow the “big names”.
Then too, there are some of us who come here rather than hang out in the Presidential Thread precisely because it IS more light-hearted and less controversial/combative … so some may wish to avoid discussing “sports, politics, and religion” which can in some cases lead to contentious debates when not everyone shares the same views.
These are just my off-the-cuff opinions and middle of the night musings, I’m sure others will differ!
Basically, the quickest shortcut to popularity here seems to be posting pictures of kitties that you happen to find doing searches on the Internet … the cuter the better! 😀
Thank you phoenix, very thoughtful of you, and I really appreciate it. Yeah, I’ve got that from my wife a lot, about sounding intellectual; good and fair criticism. I have to pray and think more, how to resolve this. And no, its not from an article, (but I take that as a compliment to the Lord), it is my own, as I believe; nothing plagiarized.
You make a very good point about the seriousness of the topics. That’s why I was wondering, if they are too lengthy. I don’t want people to just see it and say, Oh that’s way too much, I’m not gonna read that! But then again, when is it too much, if you have to say the whole thing to get the message across?
Also, I do appreciate that you point out, that the flow here tends to be cheery and light-hearted. As far as the famous things no one wants to talk about, Religion and Politics; I just have to say, The very things that most need to be talked about! So like my old boss used to say, when I was selling books door to door; “If ya like it, great; if not, then give it a pass: we have no problem bringing this to someone who wants it.” Boy, he was real ‘old school. I just loved him, I learned so much, just by hangin around and listening to him talk. Him and his buddies used to drive all across the country selling door to door just about everything. (I think everyone should do that right out of high school!)
Anyway, Thanks so much for your words. That is what I was asking for. The Lord bless you, and keep you healthy and good. 🙂
Have a nice evening.
I believe I had a reply to you the other day for something.
Basically for me, I don’t have the time to read anything long in the comments (I generally only read the Treehouse between the phone ringing as I am working the entire time), and I read Sundances articles after I post my notices for the day.
May comment to others (in other articles even) if it is about something in my skill set of more than half a century of life experience.
I agree with Phoenix about “small talk” and such.
The Phoenix:
“Then too, there are some of us who come here rather than hang out in the Presidential Thread precisely because it IS more light-hearted and less controversial/combative … so some may wish to avoid discussing “sports, politics, and religion” which can in some cases lead to contentious debates when not everyone shares the same views.”
My 2 cents anyway …. other peoples use time & purposes may vary.
Thanks Magic, I understand. I have a lot of time since I’ve retired, but I suppose everyone’s got a different schedule and priorities. Maybe I could work on making the thoughts of the messages more brief and to the point.
I appreciate your “2 cents” 🙂
Talk to you soon. Have a good night.
1) The open thread certainly seems like the appropriate place for your posts.
2) Like others, I skim ‘n skip, reading what interests me, glossing over what doesn’t or what I don’t think I have time for.
3) I’m probably not the only one who will upvote music posts even when I often don’t have time to listen to them just because I like the content. 🤐
I have no critique to offer, just encouragement to “go for it” as you feel inspired to.
Merci Monsieur Déplore, I appreciate it. Your points are well taken.
All the best.
“3) I’m probably not the only one who will upvote music posts even when I often don’t have time to listen to them just because I like the content.”
Sometimes I am lucky to have the time to listen to my own music postings …. in full anyway.
Hard enough (time wise) to sample an artist’s available works If I am not very familiar with them for posting.
Tonight, I was posting a reply to Tucker food production thread tonight and had the phone ring as I was just about to hit enter. sigh
I appreciate your heartfelt posts, but am mostly content to remain a lurker & seldom comment.
I too have a hectic work schedule & many days barely have time to look at all the posts.
I know I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again – I sincerely appreciate everyone’s contributions here: from the thoughtful words of encouragement to the beautiful inspirational music & pictures (and of course cute, furry animals).
This place feels like family & I love you all!
Hey WV, I do pretty much the same thing until recently I’ve tried to be a little more outgoing. And as far as everyone’s contributions, I couldn’t’ve said it better. 🙂
Good morning Michael! 🤗
Your posts are a type of ministry so many will not respond. Someone sows the seed, and others reap the harvest. Many, many people read CTH and never post a response, ever. You may never know the heart you touched with your words until we all meet in heaven. I encourage you, if the Lord leads then post! Open Thread is for everyone and of all backgrounds and interests. That’s the beauty of visiting here…oh, and the family/church environment.
Oh…and cats! 🤣
“You may never know the heart you touched with your words until we all meet in heaven”. So true. My daily routines are completely different today than they were 7 years ago and a great deal of it due to the influence, recommendations and words from the posters here on the Treehouse. Gifts. God bless every one of them.
Always such good sound words! 🙂
I appreciate you saying that; for that is all our desire isn’t it? I do believe the Lord is leading all of us in the way He chooses. That said, we also need to work on becoming proficient in our holy occupation for the Lord. We read how Jesus said and did everything, how He taught, how He interacted with all kinds friend and foe; and we wonder about what He said, “The disciple is not above his Master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his Master.” Luke 6:40 So we fight, as to win! Jesus has been all in for us, and we owe Him at least that much; full in all the way! I’m not for sure, but I think it was Wigglesworth who said, “The world has yet to see what God can do with one man who will completely yield and surrender to Him.”
Thanks again Stevie.
Michael, I read and enjoy your long postings-they’re an encouragement to my heart. You quote from the King James Bible throughout-which is my Bible of choice. I look forward to your postings. Treepers have a choice-they can read it in its entirety, or they can scroll on by. Keep on writing your devotionals.
Hey Pat, Nice to meet you. Thank you for saying that. You know, when we get started writing, its sometimes hard to just keep it brief. So I appreciate your saying that. Like Stevie said, the important thing is, how the Lord leads, and that we finish what He gives us to do the best we can.
Do you keep notebooks of what you see in your Bible Study and Quiet time? I recommend to everyone, for many very good reasons, to get a half a dozen notebooks (the composition ones that are actually bound work best I think), and have a regular reading plan, till you’ve read the Bible all the way through at least ten to fifteen times, and the New Testament and Psalms should be twice that; (after that the Lord may lead you to read in a different way, but He will show you); and when you’re reading the chapters, take some time to pray and think about what you read, and start writing those thoughts down. At first it may be pretty clumsy and difficult to express things the way you are really impressed. But practice makes perfect, and the longer you walk with the Lord, and prove true and faithful, and learn from His chastisements; more will be given than you could ever have thought. And just know, that all your prayers for wisdom and understanding and to be a man after the Lord’s own heart, He hears, and He will do; and no matter how far away and dull you think you are from that; He looks on the most precious heart that wants to be perfect with Him, and He will answer you: truly, He has already answered, and is already in the action to bring it to perfection. Trust Him for everything, and never doubt because of appearances that contradict His Word.
I agree with Pat_piano. I enjoy reading your posts and I hope you continue posting them.
Thank you Patty, I most certain am gonna keep posting, as long as the Lord holds the door open. Its a wonderful privilege and a blessing for me, that God reveals His treasures to us. And everything that strengthens our faith by a better understanding, is a wonderful blessing. We look forward to the day, when we can finally see His face, and look into His eyes, whom we are waiting for, and see Him alive who once died on the cross for us; and then to meet all our myriads of brothers and sisters, and the angels who were charged with watching over us!
Adore your long posts. Thankful you are here. Adore the cats, and photography. The word of God is not in comparison to anything else in our lives.
Sometimes, I have to come back later in the day to finish reading your missive. And look forward to doing so each time.
A blessing to have your mind, giving to all here.
Long, short, cheery, serious–it’s a smorgasbord–choose what you’d like, sample something different from time to time. Part of the process is not only the reading but also the writing–that you made the time and effort. It’s a gift.
“Part of the process is not only the reading but also the writing–” 🙂
I think most times, for me anyway, writing is much better than speaking. It forces you to get your thoughts together, and also allows time to correct mistakes; which we can’t always do in mid-stream talking.
Oh thank you Poyeema, that makes me feel good. I too look forward every day to coming and seeing what everyone posts; whether they are spiritual and inspirational, or nostalgic, or cute and funny, or just eavesdropping on the small talk and friendly chatting. I was pretty skeptical before I started coming here, but everyone here has shown me something very special, and it is very good!
We all encourage each other, and keep everyone’s feet on the ground.
Thank you Poyeema, we all need each other to be healthy and whole.
Michael, I appreciate all that you post.
And as juststevie alluded to, you don’t know whose heart you’ll touch.
We all have “bad days”, so you never know how each day’s post will help someone at just the right, needed time (which could be said for all religious posts).
So keep on keepin’ on! However it feels in your heart! Thank you!
As I read what I said, let me clarify that I did not mean that religious posts are only for those having bad days!!
Thank you Slowcobra, I think you say it well. Bad days, or just any ole days, whatever helps us to remember the Lord, is a good thing.
Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate your words.
Dear Michael, I appreciate your postings, they are specifically for these times and I thank you for them. I come to this site daily for the camaraderie, music and the religious posts. I have been in a “funk” for the past two years and overwhelmed by all the horrible things happening in the world – trying to make sense of it when there is no sense. God’s word and promises are the only thing that seem to give me peace and hope. Please continue, and thank you!
Hello Riley, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I know what you mean, the way things are rushing to ruin and destruction is more than horrifying, and more than depressing. Thank GOD for His Word, and that He has provided everything for us to understand the times, and to know what to do. My wife and I also, like many tens of thousands I guess, have been in the same ‘funk’ looking at all these things. I remember just before Hussein was elected, and hearing him speak over the radio, and this dread that we felt; about the same time we started noticing all the chemtrails, and whatever else. It just drove me deeper into prayer, and at the same time, the Lord began really unveiling the Scriptures about His entire purpose. I had read a book some years ago, by Alexander Hislop, called, The Two Babylons; quite a scholarly and exhaustive research into the ancient historical documents from the times of Nimrod and his wife. Don’t really have the time to tell all about it here; but if you get a chance, and see this book sometime, it would be a good investment.
(* just a little disclaimer on my part; I don’t necessarily subscribe to his conclusion about the Roman Catholic Church, in spite of the important and true comparisons he points out. I believe that the whole world, all nations in their present darkened condition, is Babylon).
Anyway, Yes! the Lord has told us all things, and He desires to show us more and more, as we are able to bear it. I will endeavor to share whatever the Lord has shown me, and look for everyone else’s contributions likewise. I believe that, that is the very reason why God has told us everything before it happens, and explains the meaning of things that are, so we won’t be scandalized, or wrongly afraid of the dark.
Thanks for the reply. The Lord bless you, and fulfill in you all that He’s ever had in mind for you.
WHAT AM I DOING?
My heart is heavy – my heart is heavy
Am I a barrier to contain like a levee
Did You not command me of the divine
Did You not appoint and show me a sign
You know I never intended to intrude
To interrupt the flow with my interlude
Perhaps you unintentionally thot it rude
To publish my introspection to be viewed
Only You know my heart and my intent
For what I have written I never meant
To insult or to preach another gospel
To come off condescending or awful
I merely wanted to interject my thoughts
For you to examine and connect the dots
I hoped to inquire inspire introspect
What I had found in my study and checked
To share it with you was my heart’s desire
Even if I was preaching to the choir
So please pardon my presumption
Please forgive me my assumption
I hope and pray in some heavenly way
I have touched your heart on this day
For sharing is caring I truly believe
Through revelation our friendships we weave
Thank you for listening with patience so pure
I’m grateful you’ve allowed me a voice adjure
If you have received a blessing from me
Then what I am doing was meant to be!

a hundred likes ~ dear Duchess 💝
Oh dear Duchess how you drove home the nail
And anything one would presume to add would pale
Of the Spirit and understanding that you speak
which is right from His lips, and of eternity’s reach
You inspire the creme de la creme, and force out the depths
Which most men do know, but keep close and under their breath
Just as we heard on the school yards as kids long ago
“It takes one to know one” by your poem is not hid but does clearly show
Wouldn’t it be nice, and we look with joyful hope
To the day its so, and the deepest parts of us, as God’s children would show
This much I read in your song to the Lord
And say Oh how happy our hearts, for all His loved and adored
So thank you for everything Father, in Jesus’ Name
For that you waited so long, till this time for us to be saved
And for the foretaste of heaven right here now on earth
For the sweet and precious fellowship and the New Birth
Thanks Duchess for your faithful perseverance and love in Christ.
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
God Bless You Real Good, Michael!!! ❤️
Michael, you’re courageous to put yourself out there for critiques! 😅 (Haven’t seen anyone else here do so.)
I read all the responses and nod in agreement with each.
We’re all different and contribute in various ways. Who is to judge what another posts? (Only Sundance and the gatekeepers.)
Stevie’s comment inspires by reminding us that multitudes read the TH, and we really don’t know how our posts may minister to another! That thought is always on my mind whenever posting, as I strive to encourage.
There are many talented and skilled folks on the tree and I enjoy learning from all. In comparison, I don’t have much to offer but a kind or encouraging word, and especially my testimony of faith in Christ – what He has done for me. That’s it. But I still post. The Lord will lead you in the right direction, M. Listen to Him.🙏🏻
“That’s it” is more than you know! The love and the Spirit by which you contribute is all the Lord’s commandment! And whatever we think of ourselves, even as the truth is in us, His Light and what God esteems as great, is not measured by man’s estimations of worth. One has this, and one has that, but all is His and from Him. Like Solomon said, We haven’t given Thee anything, but what is already Thine. And next to that, it is how we love one another, and not the exercising of gifts, that Jesus will be looking at on that day. After that, He will give to each of us what our work shall be! That is so exciting!
Thank You Della. You are a good sister and a friend of Jesus.
Thank you, M, for truth!
Expanding on my comment, I AM so thankful for God’s gracious gifts to me and my family! However, those gifts are just not visible “on-line.”
I hope it didn’t sound as complaint, as it wasn’t; just a real-life analysis.
You, on the other hand, have been given a wonderful gift of writing, among other things (discernment and a knowledge of His word).
Our response to the Lord is to invest “whatever” He has given us into His kingdom, for His glory. That is what we will answer for one day.
I can only imagine how your relationship is growing deeper with God through your writing, M, because it is not easy to devote time and effort (meaning=work) toward your messages without receiving great reward from Him. And it is such a blessing in these times of tech to be able to share what you write!
For me? I’ll keep on investing in the little things during everyday life: taking our shut-in neighbor some cookies, giving the mail lady banana bread and telling her thank you, over tipping the waitress at breakfast, giving strangers a smile at grocery store, saying “please and thank you” and even putting a “weed” in a vase that the little GC picks for me. You know little things add up, eventually. Hopefully, someone will notice Christ and His Light. That’s the mission!
Remember this verse, M, and seek His approval – only.
“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10

Good morning Garrison!
Now to feel really old:
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/01/rip-actress-cindy-williams-iconic-tv-show-laverne-shirley-dies-age-75/
It feels like that sometimes. But we’re still here.
Good morning Joe, it’s all in the head 😁. I feel young this morning so I’m about to go split some more firewood. And I use a splitting axe, not a log splitter. Blessings to you and your bride.
Good morning GrandpaM. You’re right, it is all in the head. Age is just a number that a lot of us fixate on. Blessings to you and yours. Stay warm out there.
I heard pastor Chuck Swindoll once say, “how old would you be if you didn’t know your actual age?”
Trip to town done, had to restock on deer corn for my mom and ourselves. Deer get hungrier when it gets cold. The roads were wet but no ice and no people driving so it was a breeze. My bride requested bbq for lunch so got that and just finished a late lunch. Firewood has been split so I’m ready to start a fire and call it a day.
I need to get moving and pay a couple of bills before it gets dark (and colder). Then drive over to the nursing home and sit with the wife for a while. The roads seem to be ok; looks like there might be some ice, but nothing too serious. I keep a few 40lb bags of cat litter in the bed of the truck to help with traction when it gets slippery on the roads.
I’d rather deal with the cold than the heat and humidity we get here during the summer months. I might stop and pick up some grilled chicken and cheese sandwiches for both of us.
Stay safe! My bride and I were just talking about cat litter on the driveway in front of the house. There is a thin sheet of ice on it. Not sure if we have any since the cats go outside to take care of their business. Should’ve thought about it when I was in town earlier. I see a possible drive to Fredericksburg this afternoon.
Hello!
I haven’t read through here in quite awhile, but your cat litter remark reminded me of a new use I thought folks would appreciate!
If you are troubled by gophers in your garden, pour the cat litter down the holes. Gophers don’t like the taste or consistency according to the article I read. Non toxic, and won’t harm your plants!
Copy cat! 🕶️😁

I like the “Corn People” the best 😉
Dolphins are amazing beings.
I found this by accident..very pretty. My education in music is lacking, except for the well known pieces by Strauss, Beethoven and Mozart…
What a beautiful find! Thanks for sharing…😁
Definitely worth the listen! 🙂

Not to mention, a reminder it comes for all of us.
Risin’ UP . . .
Good morning all. I’m back from PA safe & sound. Made it back 12 hours earlier than the trip ticket says I needed to be back because despite a little weather I did not have to take a 2nd 10 hour break. I did not go over my legal hours either. Got back with 23 minutes left of drive time. And that is despite having a super single drive tire go flat and having to get road side service Sunday night.
On the bright side, I have been asking for two new drive tires for three months now. Now I have one new one on the right side of the rear drive axle and today they will have to put another new one on the left end of that axle because the diameter of the used tire is smaller than that of the new and if they allow it to run like that it will cause a damaging wear pattern on the new tire. AND they will be new tires, and not recaps!
So now this winter warriors wagon will be well shod and that does make a significant difference in how fast I can and what I can get away with in slick conditions. I could feel the difference coming down the hills with winding turns on the PA Turnpike with just that one new tire! And believe it or not, those new tires will add over 1 mph to my top governed speed. That is how much the difference in diameter and thus the circumference is between the used tires and the new one. Driving is going to be a lot more fun now this winter!
Now before I go to bed I have this for those of you in Texas that are feeling sorry for yourselves. Check out what the NE has coming this weekend. Note the temps are centigrade. -40 C = -40 F, -30 C = -22 F. etc.

Good Night All!
Well, that’s good news! I hope you didn’t have to wait long out in the cold.
Nope! I sat in the idling truck most of 2 1/2 hours. The hard part was getting the 125 lb. Tire up on the utility deck and securing it.
Good morning, Rah. Glad you’re back safe and sound and have those two brand new tires! Good tires are something a road warrior should never have to do without. Thanks for all you do!
Good afternoon JWoo! 🙂
Good evening, Grandpa. Sorry I didn’t see your post sooner. It’s hit and miss sometimes for me to be here. I never stop thinking of my tree friends, though. Big hugs
It’s been staying between 28 and 30 today. Not a biggie. Glad that you are home safe.
Thanks. Out again at 07:00. This time a two stopper up in MI and come back the same day.

Do You See Your Calling?
…separated to the gospel of God… —Romans 1:1
Our calling is not primarily to be holy men and women, but to be proclaimers of the gospel of God. The one all-important thing is that the gospel of God should be recognized as the abiding reality. Reality is not human goodness, or holiness, or heaven, or hell— it is redemption. The need to perceive this is the most vital need of the Christian worker today. As workers, we have to get used to the revelation that redemption is the only reality. Personal holiness is an effect of redemption, not the cause of it. If we place our faith in human goodness we will go under when testing comes.
Paul did not say that he separated himself, but “when it pleased God, who separated me…” (Galatians 1:15). Paul was not overly interested in his own character. And as long as our eyes are focused on our own personal holiness, we will never even get close to the full reality of redemption. Christian workers fail because they place their desire for their own holiness above their desire to know God. “Don’t ask me to be confronted with the strong reality of redemption on behalf of the filth of human life surrounding me today; what I want is anything God can do for me to make me more desirable in my own eyes.” To talk that way is a sign that the reality of the gospel of God has not begun to touch me. There is no reckless abandon to God in that. God cannot deliver me while my interest is merely in my own character. Paul was not conscious of himself. He was recklessly abandoned, totally surrendered, and separated by God for one purpose— to proclaim the gospel of God (see Romans 9:3).
WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS
When you are joyful, be joyful; when you are sad, be sad. If God has given you a sweet cup, don’t make it bitter; and if He has given you a bitter cup, don’t try and make it sweet; take things as they come.
https://utmost.org/do-you-see-your-calling/
Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He has established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited:”
Genesis 1:31 “And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good . . .”
The earth is big enough and has enough to hold every living creature that lives on it; and more than enough room for all people to live, and no one ever be in want. God created the worlds as perfect and complete Eco-Systems, and all of it “very good.” “What the world needs now, is love sweet love;” to learn how to manage what God has made, and love one another as God loves each and every one of us His children.
The day is coming, when the Lord Jesus Christ will come in power and great glory, and all His holy angels and saints with Him; and He will set up His everlasting kingdom over the whole earth. At that time, when He gives the government and dominion of all the earth, into the hands of His saints; the world will finally begin to be managed the way God intended; and everyone will have their own portion of land, and their own people to dwell among, and all the nations will love each other and be at peace. The animals also will be released from the bondage of the corruption of the wicked, and will no longer hurt each other or man. The ancient civilizations will return to their former estates, minus the devil and the heathen spirit.
Just picture how many places there are in the world, that are right now uninhabited, or uninhabitable; and now think about all the possibilities with the curses being lifted, because the ungodly are no longer in the world to pervert and corrupt everything. Places that are untouched by man, and in their pristine state, will become inhabitable; and the saints being in charge of developing those places as God intends them to be; all shall be preserved in their pristine beauty, in perfect harmony and usefulness, and being properly cared for and replenished.
Ignore the myths, mom. We’ll bring you good luck

PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow, that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Verse of the Day for Tuesday, January 31, 2023
✟
“For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
Psalms 100:5 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered!!!
I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving. This will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs. – Psalm 69:30-31
Psalm 69 is the second most quoted psalm in the New Testament referencing Christ Jesus, but the psalmist David appears to have written it in the circumstances in which he found himself. The psalm could apply to the cry of any believer who is struggling as well.
The writer cries out to God. He is suffering at the hands of enemies who are mighty and many in number, and they have persecuted him without cause. He is subject to slander, his family has forsaken him, and he receives no compassion from those around him (Psalm 69:4-7). He feels totally desolate. He knows he is not without fault, but this dishonor brought upon him is not warranted.
And yet, he changes direction in thought and prays to the Lord because he knows of God’s steadfast love and faithfulness – he knows the Lord will answer him. He is ready and willing to give thanks and praise to God… an offering that pleases God more than the most valuable, perfect sacrifice that could be made at that time (vv.13, 16, 30). He is so moved that he calls on all of heaven and earth to praise the Sovereign God of the universe (v. 34).
Remember, in the midst of adversity, to offer this sacrifice of praise. No matter the struggles, notwithstanding the suffering you may be enduring, know that God will carry you through. Keep your eyes focused on Him, worshiping Him, giving thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Then pray for the people of this nation and public officials, that they would seek the Lord and do what is right. Give thanks to the Lord knowing that He works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

MORNING
If ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; … those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. Num. 33:55
Fight the good fight of faith. I Tim. 6:12
The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations…. and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. II Cor. 10:4, 5
Brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Rom. 8:12, 13
The flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal. 5:17
I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Rom. 7:23
We are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Rom. 8:37
EVENING
If a man sin against the Lord, who shall intreat for him? I Sam. 2:25
If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our’s only, but also for the sins of the whole world. I John 2:1, 2
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Rom. 3:25, 26
He is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. Job 33:24
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Rom. 8:31, 33, 34

Good morning family! 🤗
Who doesn’t love Music Boxes! These will always capture my attention and brighten my day! Enjoy!
The Magic Music Box (2:20 mins)
This composition has nothing to do with music boxes except for the title. It’s a synthesizer piece programmed using a MIDI keyboard. You’re entitled to like whatever you like of course.
I do love music boxes, the real kind. They were wonderful machines, clockwork that only needed winding, pre-electricity and capable of playing complex compositions. Here’s an example of a type available in penny arcades around the turn of the 20th century:
LOL…well I’m truly not qualified to discern how the music is made. But thank you for posting a real music box! 🤗
It was a nice little tune!
The way to tell is because you have the sound of different instruments, and some variation in the volume/expression of notes. I used to write and record that way, and sold a few tunes to stock music companies as a hobby. You play one track at a time, assign the sounds of different instruments to the notes you’ve played, and mix the tracks together with software. If you can pick out notes on a keyboard, you could do it too, up to a whole orchestra. You can play really slow, and speed it up afterward.
They did also make music boxes of a kind that featured mechanical puppets playing different instruments, but the notes never varied in volume. Probably the most complex kind of music box is what people call a “player piano”. Those are mechanical, the “record” is a paper roll with punched holes, and composers like Scott Joplin could produce piano rolls by playing a keyboard that punched the holes, so in OUR time we know precisely how he performed his own rags.
Most music boxes use a comb-like set of metal tines of varying length that are plucked according to some kind of cylinder with raised pegs, or a cylinder with holes. They evolved from musical watches, snuff boxes and clocks as early as the 1700s.
That sounds so good. People don’t seem to be smart like they used to be, to invent things like that. Thanks Mikey 🙂
Sounds about right – they’re perfectly content to focus their gaze on a “smart phone” and never look up.
They don’t know HOW to imagine/dream of new inventions. In their minds, they have all they need.
(sorry for the rant, it’s early)
I like it! Its inspirational! Thanks! 🙂

Definitely. As much as I loved football, I stopped when that colon guy started it all with the knee thing.
Yup. I get it. This is my last Super Bowl. 🥱
When these guys were playing, it was a sport worth watching. That’s Jerry Kramer and Forrest “‘Fuzzy” Thurston leading the way for Jim Taylor on that famous Green Bay “power sweep”. Bart Starr (in the background) just executed a beautiful handoff.
Cool! I was born on a little farm in Beloit, Wisconsin in 59.
I idolized Ray Nitshke for the pain he inflicted as middle linebacker and Bart Starr because he could thread the needle when he needed to.
Tom Hornung was too cool.
Willie Davis was smash mouth!
It’s more like flag football today!
Are you in Wisconsin?
I live in Oklahoma. I was a Los Angeles Rams fan for a long time, but stopped watching all pro sports a few years ago when the “woke” stuff started happening. I read Kramer’s book decades ago; he gives an interesting insider’s view of what it was like playing for the Packers when Vince Lombardi was the head coach. Kramer was the one who threw that famous block during Ice Bowl.
True. I saw the ice bowl on tv as a lad.
I have a daughter in Tulsa.
Greetings Treepers! ✝️
Good morning Frank…hope all is well with the weather there?
Too bad this guy wasn’t on the field when Colon Krapernick was pulling his crap. Jack Youngblood retired decades ago.
As a kid I lived in Tustin, California in the late 60’s, early 70’s.
I remember the fearsome foursome, especially Deacon Jones.
Niiiiiice
OMG. I lived in Tustin, late 60s, early 70s. I went to Tustin High School for a couple of years during that time. The helicopters from El Toro MCAS would fly right over the apartment complex where I lived. I was almost thrown from a roll-out couch when the earthquake hit in 1971. That’s the one that damaged the VA hospital in LA.
I moved back to Santa Barbara county in 1971.
I, too, remember the Fearsome Foursome wrecking havoc on opposing teams when the Big Bad Rams took the field.
WOW. That 71 quake was crazy!
It rolled me out of bed! At first, I thought the Santa Anna winds were off the chart! It lasted so long! Freaky. I staggered to the window…trees weren’t blowing. They were shaking.
13571 Fairmont Way, Tustin.
My grandparents were visiting.
I saw water sloshing out of the swimming pool in the courtyard when the quake hit. The whole building shook. The apartment complex I lived in was near the Newport 55 freeway. I worked at a Chevron gas station at the intersection of Newport and Nissan Rd.
I woke up thinking my brother was under the bed shaking it.
We lived in Hawthorne, hometown of the Beach Boys!
Roman Gabriel, Jack Snow, and who was it? Ron or Norm Smith running back 100+ yard kickoff returns! Merlin Olson, Deacon Jones . . . Do you remember the cards that came in the bubble gum pack?
Oh. You bet!
Yep! Or dick butkus!
Mornin’ all.
Laverne and Shirley, along with Happy Days and Emergency…got me thru the last two years of college…I love the first stanza of the Laverne and Shirley tune:
We’re gonna make it
Give us any chance we’ll take it
Read us any rule we’ll break it
We’re gonna make our dreams come true
Doing it our way
Nothings gonna turn us back now
Straight ahead and on the track now
We’re gonna make our dreams come true

Did you ever watch this show? I thought it was hilarious
I loved those quirky 60’s shows.
I liked watching this everyday on channel 52 UHF, right after (or before) Speed Racer and the Little Rascals and Popeye; then changed it to channel 13 to watch Gilligan’s Island (every episode a hundred times at least!)
20 degrees here. Not extreme cold, but just enough to make the knees and lower back stiff .
My wife is on a few groups where she exchanges information about chickens.
Yesterday, in Malakoff, a town 6 miles from us, a white pickup truck with cages in back pulled up to a house with chickens. They were caught on camera trying to steal the chickens.
They were also met with a shotgun toting husband.
Stay buckled up Treeps! It’s just the beginning of the beginning of tough times. 🕶️✝️🕶️
Small world. I worked a delivery route for 7 years in Malakoff, and all around the lake, down to Athens and up to Crandall. You may have even seen me bombing up and down those streets; I drove a very distinctive truck, the only one like it in the area. And yes, a couple of times, the door was answered by an armed individual. Good times.
Schwann? Small world. Hollar if you ever need me or want to talk. Nine Oh 3-952-2947.

Poored rain here. Now it’s hovering around freezing.
I’m getting cabin fever. ☔️
Nothing here, just a tiny bit of rain this morning.
A bunch of drivers had to shut it down in Arkansas last night and earlier today because of ice. Based on the experience of this driver, when it comes to winter precipitation, the state of Arkansas works on the premise that God put there and he will take it away in his own due time.
Brings back memories of walking my dog while bird watching. It’s a unique sound and catchy.Veery Song
First remember hearing the Veery as a little kid in the forest where my little old lady Irish Aunt’s cottage was. Seem to notice the Veery song most in the spring when the ground is soaked. Always a happy sounding bird! 🙂
The Thrush group songs are in many cases ethereal. Some of my favorites.
I’ve always wanted to see this.
I saw it. Absolutely wonderful! One word of caution. You may be tempted to sit right in the front row. Something happens in the drama that’s extremely close and extremely loud. My ears rang for quite awhile. And that said, 100% worth it!
Lucky you! I’ve read numerous books/biographies/novels of Tecumseh and the Old NorthWest and particularly was enamored with the play’s author’s “Narratives of America” series. His biography of Tecumseh “A Sorrow In Our Heart” was my favorite. Ironically a branch of the Shawnee lived near me in SC. They called them “the Southerners” as they were the southernmost branch of the Algonquin’s and were known for wandering, even living in Florida for a while. Also Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana etc
Attended a pow wow hosted by the Shawnee in Ohio a few years back, very nice! Meanwhile, my Native books tend to be of the Iroquois persuasion, given my Western New York background.
Attended a Shawnee pow-wow how cool!
My cousin who I think very highly off (he married my favorite first cousin) is from Massena. Another in-law is from Cornell, another relations is from Bovina, I went to camp in the Catskills a few years. Beautiful state. A group of Iroquois called “Mingo’s” showed up in allot of those books (as did the 6 nations) as they were ‘rebel’ Iroquois (mostly Seneca) who for reasons did not want to be under 6 nations jurisdiction and fled to Ohio. Allot of broken up tribes from new England also ended up there, as well as my NJ Delawares (Lenni Lenape). Fascinating history
Narraganset = Rhode Island’s beer, clams and Native Americans!
I think some of the Lenape ended up in Central Texas. There is a Delaware Creek that feeds into the Blanco River. I heard the story one time but it has been quite a few years.
Most of my relatives were from Shawnee, Ohio. Coal miners from Wales who came over on a boat picked up a stowaway in spite of having six of their own.
Long article but posts a genuine concern. Explain Conservatism.

Paging Colkitto…
Well, I loaded up the wood rack for the insert again. Took the trash out to the road. Got the mail. Fed my birds. Then I got in the FJ and went to Menards and got more bird seed. Went and got my hair cut. And ordered and pickup two 11″ toasted Big Sir subs from Pizza King.
We are now consuming the subs and once done, I’m back in bed because I am on call tonight in case a driver calls off or they have some other problem.
I used to be on call every other weekend when I was doing Hazmat work. Good of you to feed the birds. What kind of subs are they? I love Roast Beef & Provolone and my other favorite is a chicken & eggplant cultets with sun dried tomatoes, Mozzarella, and Balsamic vinegar on a Italian Sub roll from Brooklyn. I cannot get them here, so I have to make them myself minus the Brooklyn add. Be safe sir
Baked ham, salami, their own cheese, onion. Baked, then garnished with lettuce, tomato, and Mayo.
I am divorcing myself and hardware from Microsoft and Google (Alphabet?).
My current problem is how to watch Neil Oliver’s weekly podcast without YouTube. Is it posted on another service? Subscription via GBN? I usually read the transcript if available, but hearing Neil’s voice helps with ‘cold anger’.
For those interested, I’ve been using Ubuntu (linux) for about a year, but have just recently cut off YouTube. My question relates not only to Neil Oliver content but to other possible workarounds.

This guy lied about his resume and got elected. He duped his constituents and for some reason he’s being ostracized publicly!
I’m betting he gets lots of laughs and praise on the down low with his buddies on both sides of the aisle.
I find it hilarious!😁

I disagree with this author on almost every point.
I do think Trump has lost support. I also think our national election systems will not be revamped by 24, and that our primary will probably be rigged with bipartisan support.
That’s the “Big Ugly”.

Well, I’m back from paying a couple of bills and visiting the wife. She slept most of the time I sat with her. She took a couple of bites a chicken sandwich, then conked out. I stayed for a while, then left as I was getting sleepy.
22 degrees and icy conditions on the roads. Again, nothing too serious as long as I’m careful. Spending some time in a heated room makes me drowsy especially after stuffing myself with the sandwiches I brought for us.
Dazed and amazed at all of the events unfolding with GarageGate, Ukraine, and the covid hoax.
