Ha ha, saw this yesterday and it indeed does invoke thoughts of Betsy!
This child was most likely one of Walter Chandoha’s 6 children, as he often included them in his photos.
This is the aftermath!
Mr Chandoha started as a wartime photographer in the South Pacific during WWII.
Walking home in NY City one night he rescued his first kitty subject, Loco – and by the end of his career had produced 34 books with cats as in the leading role.
He died in 2019, at the age of 98, surrounded by 5 children and his kitty, Maddie.
A much nicer subject for him, sis, than his previous ones I have no doubt…so so sweet 😌💕

One of the top ten best days of my life happened because of Corvettes.
Several decades ago, my dad called me on a weekend and asked if I would like to go to a Corvette rally in Phoenix. He and my mom had
recently moved to AZ for several reasons: one being to be with me and my son after my divorce.
I jumped at the chance. I have always wanted a Corvette and, even though I was penniless- doesn’t hurt to look! And, a chance to spend a whole day alone with Dad, really my hero, I guess you could say.
We drove the few hours up there, looked at Corvettes for hours, both of us pretending I could actually buy one, and had breakfast and then dinner together before coming home. As I recall, there may have been a few adult beverages in the mix. Perfect Day
I never did get a Corvette, but Lloyd got me a little red 66 Mustang – 3 on the floor – for our 1st anniversary which I drove to death driving 600 miles a week to work! I loved it.
Dad passed 13 years ago. I would trade my non existent Corvette for another day with him in an instant.
Having written that – What a Beauty!!! You will ride again!

An excellent series on the beautiful and historic cathedrals and abbeys of Britain. 3 episodes in all, each an hour in length. This is Episode 1 (from Youtube, which should also have the second and third episodes to follow).
Having been in many, Hammersmith, I can attest to their beauty.
The one I remember most was in Yorkshire. The reason?
I arrived just at the start of Evensong. I couldn’t see the choristers, but suddenly their angelic voices were rising until they filled the Cathedral. So overwhelming was it that I grasped hold of some iron railings and stopped breathing for a moment. Surely God in His heaven was listening as I was. A spiritual moment such as I’d never experienced.
The one nearest to us in Wales was Chester Cathedral which will be the venue for the upcoming nuptials of the Duke of Westminster in June. A security nightmare I’m sure as it is near the town centre. I had to great pleasure on my first Christmas there to attend a performance of Messiah. It was freezing cold, and while we were waiting to gain admittance, this naïve American was perplexed as to why people waiting with us had brought lap robes. I soon found out. There were massive heaters in the Cathedral but they did little to nothing to keep me in my heavy dress coat from shivering.
How, I wondered, were the musicians and exquisite voices of the singers able to render the sublime and moving work without their teeth chattering?? A night to remember…
My father in law installed the sound system in Gloucester Cathedral. He provided maintenance for the one in Liverpool (I must admit not my favourite) and played the organ there to test it out.

I am not myself from London, but I do have a mostly British background. One ancestral family line was traced back to the Hammersmith area of London and, in particular, to one ancestor (born 1792) who was a member of the household calvary during Britain’s Regency period.
I knew there had to be a connection in there somewhere. How wonderful you’ve been able to trace your lineage that far back!

The thing which is airbrushed from history (written by the winning sides) is the thousands of really magnificent abbeys churches and cathedrals which were destrored and desecrated by the English Taliban in the name of the ‘new’ religion.
Britain and particularly Ireland had it’s magnificent heritage reduced to a pile of stones to placate the ruthless Henry 8.
The modern day Taliban had a good template to work from.
Never the less there are some vestiges of religious culture still practised here in spite of the modern satanists trying to eradicate US.

It must have been majestic in its time. The bones of it are still there. One can only imagine how it looked, and people still come to see it.

Pressing olives to extract their oil has been practiced in the Middle East for over 5,000 years. The earliest example of an olive press was found in the ancient city of Tel Hadar in Israel. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Look ahead to the glories of being in eternal union with Him. Your current sufferings—that could very well be crushing and pressing in on you—may draw you into a closer, sweeter fellowship with Jesus, as you pray for an altered perspective.
Through your patient endurance, allow God to work through your afflictions today, knowing He is using them for your eternal good. “When all my labors and trials are o’er, and I am safe on that beautiful shore, just to be near the dear lord I adore will through the ages be glory for me.”

I had to go get some gift bags for the graduation presents for our lads. We struggled to think what to get them. We wanted to give them something which they would have always to remind them, as we said in the tiny cards (which Chris painted with their cars on the front) that Christ was with with them always 🙏🏻.
We found Cr.osses, duchess, which are made of stainless with a partial overlay of gold plate on the Cross and the crucified Christ (stainless) in relief upon it. They will never tarnish. We bought good key rings and have attached those Crosses to them. I am so happy with these gifts to our two loving, sensible, thoughtful young men whose lives we’ve played an integral part in. More than we ever considered we would when they were born and we were still in Wales with no plans to move.
But God knew we’d be needed even as we did not. He planted us here I am convinced if for no other reason for this purpose. So now our work here is done…or was it His?
I know they will appreciate them and over the years to come as they grow further away, they will remember us 🙏🏻💕

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Good Morning, Jesus! How are You today?
There is something on my mind I just have to say
This week has been not just a challenge for me
It has been demanding and trying as it could be.
If I thought last week was a trial catching up
Tying up loose ends of projects – curb the backup
Rewrites and mistakes I must make right
Why am I flustered and oh so uptight?
I had to stop the panic – get my head on straight
To be done and completed – I just could not wait
In all the anxiety – I forgot one important thing
I had not remembered – I was under Your wing.
All the sources I amassed for my work
The one high above all I must not shirk
It was You, Sweet Jesus – I left behind
Have I lost my edge – misplaced my mind?
I stopped what I was doing to take quick stock
My website – went awry – it really did not rock
Of course without help – what could I expect
I must go to my rock and get it all checked.
I stopped again – remembered her advice
I must pray – and ask – if I have to – twice
I must trust in God – with all of my heart
Lean not on myself – right from the start.
Help me, Lord – I prayed heartedly out loud
Help me to focus – mind out of the cloud
Help me organize – this mess on my desk
Make it flow smoothly – be not so grotesque!
All of a sudden – and out of the blue
It came clearly to me – what I had to do
Tweak and correct the whackadoodle site
Get back my clarity – fight the good fight.
The rewrites went well – whipped them off quick
The focus – the clarity – the much needed trick
Without Your help – it would not have been done
Cause You are the Way – the Life – and the One!
The One to whom I must direct my course
The Only One who can be a good source
You are my Savior in all that I do
Without You – I am nothing – that is true.
Through all I have suffered to get it all done
With You by my side – the victory was won
So – Thank You, Jesus – for coming to me
For helping me finish – helping me see.
From the bottom of my heart – I pray you know
I have done my best – Your glory to show
I am grateful, Lord – for the gifts You gave
To use them wisely – Your honor to save.
You blessed me, Lord – what more can I say
You saved me, Lord – to relish this day
Thanks to Your guidance – my panic did cease
The anxiety is gone – and now I have peace.

If a place could speak memories
Good afternoon, Patience and Ma,
We have the privilege of taking backroads in Indiana to get most places. Horse country. Farms. Rural mansions…. both new and old. Took a drive yesterday to Jamestown to check out a factory related to the small collegiate program. (Toyota Fukai Toyotetsu) and the drive was quiet and sublime. Big expanses of farmland with big old farmhouses. One could survive out there while the cities fall apart under the weight of liberalism.
And the gardens were beautiful.
In honor of Equid Monday, my girls are weeding for me! Yay!

Hidiho yall, since this is an “open thread”, I would like to express my condolences to the manufacturer of the helicopter that crashed, killing the “Butcher of Tehran’ President Raisi”. I hope the cause of the crash was because of bad weather and isn’t contributed to the helicopter itself and, diminishes sales. As far as those killed in the crash, I hope they get judged by their actions here on earth and imo, burn in the eternal fires of hell!!
BTW, I’m not judging anyone!! I’m just saying I hope they get what they gave!!
