I am bumping this post to the top of the page and updating because, well, I’ll explain.
First, thank you. Sincere and genuine thankfulness for your fellowship. Visitors to this site continue to prove that our nation is created by, and an assembly of, the most decent, honest, generous and kind-hearted people in the world. The responses to the question of ‘why didn’t you take the covid-19 shot?’ are nothing short of remarkable.
In the bigger picture if you want to fill up your faith cup and recognize the scale of commonsense assembly in our nation, take the time to read through the 2,000+ responses.
The feedback you are providing is exceptional and trust me when I say that far more people are reading these responses than you could fathom. Additionally, the responses have reasserted my belief in the scale of our national assembly. There are far more of us, ordinary, hardworking, commonsense, pragmatic and smart people, than the self-described intellectual elites would ever admit.
In addition to the responses below, there have been hundreds of emails answering the question, which suddenly made me realize that no one has really ever asked this question before in a format that provides ordinary people with the ability to respond.
There is also a yearning to talk about this issue, publicly and with deliberation; massively so. And I am hopeful (insert grin here) this small corner of the internet is about to push this conversation into a much larger national forum. Our nation needs a big conversation about this.
If I had to pick a single phrase to encapsulate the myriad of phenomenal responses to the question I would use the phrase, “intellectual discernment”; which again provides buckets of faith that a large number of people are wide awake, albeit part of what I call a potato revolution growing safely underground.
Also, unbeknownst to front page readers I am stunned at the people in/around operation warp-speed, these are people in government directly attached to the issue, who have contacted CTH on the backside, stepped forward and said they also didn’t take the shot because, well, despite their belief in the purpose and principle at the time, things were just not adding up and ultimately seemed sketchy. They couldn’t talk (so they felt), couldn’t even hint at their concern; but when it came to making the personal decision, they waited.
I also owe it to you to answer the question of my own status, which is a big heck no – I did not take the jab.
Why? Because in the preceding years of all my research into the rapidly exposed corruption of our government, there was just no way in hell I was going to trust that same system. A system that literally was working outside the constitution and legal framework of our nation to destroy a sitting U.S. President is going to suddenly care about my health. Nope, it did not align. I also looked at the datapoint of the U.S.S. Comfort delivered to New York City under the grandest of media proclamations about impending medical doom, only to see the ship sit empty and completely unused despite the scale of the narrative that surround its purpose.
Lastly, and more obliquely, the datapoint of one of my heroes Franklin Graham assembling a NY field hospital to serve over 20,000 patients; another massive endeavor that sat empty and without use. However, prior to the hindsight, it was the in-real-time fight from officials in/around the area who tried to block Samaritans Purse from setting up the facility. If the SARS-CoV-2 issue was as great a threat as declared, then why would anyone fight to keep out a field hospital that could provide such relief. It just didn’t make sense.
Those issues, and others, formed the baseline of my inability to reconcile the key issue of ‘trust’ needed to believe in the vaccine. Additionally, I am healthy and not within any of the risk factors. However, I also feel strongly that each health decision is unique to the individual person, and everyone was making the best decisions for them based on the available information at the time; so, I carry no judgement for those who made a different choice.
As noted, I am bumping this to the top of the site so that our conversation can continue. Normally I would start a new thread, but this one is different. I don’t want to break the continuity and I want to provide everyone the ability to see they are not alone.

I was quite shocked to review a poll I took on the Twitter last month showing that 85% of the people who follow the CTH Twitter account [TLR2] did not take the COVID-19 jab.
Without any judgement implied or inferred I am genuinely curious, why not?
With the situation clearly in hindsight, and/or given all the pressure that may have been applied to each individual situation, I am genuinely curious what was it that made you choose not to take the COVID-19 vaccination.
If you are comfortable, and please understand that no pressure is intended in any way whatsoever, could you share why you didn’t take the vaccine and how do you feel about that decision in hindsight?
If you did take the vaccination, there is also no judgement in this question. As I said back in 2021 each individual is unique, each situation is unique, and each person has to make the best decision about what is in their individual best interests. So please, don’t let this issue divide our conversation.
I am genuinely curious as to the reason so many people would withstand the public and perhaps peer pressure to follow the ‘vaccination’ advice. Also, how has that decision impacted your life? Did you lose friends and family over your personal health decision? Did those relationships heal over time? Or anything else you might find pertinent to the general question.

I did not get it because of what I had learned about mRNA technology in 2020. Also, I di a risk benefit analysis for my particular health situation..as I am a healthy adult female, it was more of a risk to take the shot then it was to get the illness which to me was not concerning. I have done a lot of reading and research from various sources and doctors esp. Frontline doctors, Drs Malone, McCullough, Makari, Mercola and others including Alex Berenson and Children’s Health Defense group.
Had Covid early , natural immunity , knew it was all BS when they said no such thing as natural immunity!
That goes against 5000 years of real Lived Science!
The “vaccines” were experimental. I thought that the mRNA technology could be revolutionary, but I wanted to let the other people do the dying first. I’m not an early adopter, but I am not too far behind, once the technology is proven.
Despite my concerns, I did get the J&J vaccine to assuage my wife’s irrational fear of the virus. It had the opposite effect. My wife thought I would engage in riskier behavior, so she became more paranoid. For my troubles, I was diagnosed with white matter disease a couple of weeks later. Who knows if it was the vaccine, but I have no risks factors for the disease.
“White Matter Disease.” I’m not familiar with that. Have you learned that others that took the J&J are also afflicted? The only person that I know that received the J&J, was one of three “skeptics” in my department, (Home Infusion @ OHSU). Thus far, no known issues.

I am an RN. I was working as a Case Manager/Discharge planner at a hospital at the time. I just did not buy into this panic fear-mongering, as well as being aware that the Left misconstrued every single thing Trump said, “JUST BECAUSE” they had severe TDS.
CMS came out and said the vax is mandatory, and anybody who does not get vaxed will have to resign or be fired come October 15, 2021.
I filed a religious exemption that was quickly denied by the hospital administators.
So, that was it. Rather than get fired and lose the many benefits I had coming to me, I submitted a very respectful letter of resignation. My last day of work was 10/15/21.
And I thank God I had the insight to realize this was a Leftist political attack on us, We The People.
More often than not, being skeptical turns out to be the best way to go, especially if the pressure to conform is generalized and intense.
The cui bono test works well on just about any proposal/proposition.
It is commendable that you stood up for yourself. But I would have made them fire me instead of resigning. This is what Dr Simone Gold recommended.
These bas turds were forcing people to quit so the employer would not be held liable. Had you stood your ground, like my RN niece did, you may have kept your job after all. Firing people is actionable, quitting lets them off the hook.
I had an extreme reaction to a tetanus booster 15 years ago, requiring ER care. Not only am I not vaccinated, I went to a covid party to catch it intentionally – to get it over with. I took IVM, over it in one day, a mild, dry cough for 2 weeks. I’m 66 and been keto for 12 years, so I’m in good shape. It really was nothing – had a fever for an hour and a half. I do know people who died from it, however, in the hospital. Refusing to let us have IVM/HCQ from our doctors was murder.
I got IVM/HCQ from Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, who is now dead from cancer. He was an Orthodox jewish doctor from upstate NY that sent a letter to Trump about IVM/HCQ. I found his phone number on line and called him, told him my intention to go to a covid party, asked for an Rx, several hours later I picked up IVM and HCQ at Target. He also told me to take zinc and vitamin D, and called me back a few days later to check on me.

With his community being “closed” I knew he had the perfect “case study.” Heard of his success with the natural treatments and knew I could do the same. Heard a French DR was doing same. confirmations
Dr. Z was the first, AFAIK, to link Quercetin and Zinc as both being necessary to combat Covid. He referred to Quercetin being the gun and Zinc being the bullet, i.e., you need both.
Dr Z, what an amazing guy he was! This is a truly amazing story about him.

I’m one of those people. I took the flu vax a couple times over the last 50 years but stopped because I didn’t think it was necessary and I didn’t really ever like the idea of vaccines. The reason for me to take one vaccine but not the other?
Nobody threatened me to take the flu vax. They did threaten me to take the covid vax. I truly believed they were going to ban me from flying. I fly at least twice a year to see my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren across the country.
Over decades of adult life, I had never taken a flu shot, until I had a five week-long flu siege in the 1990s that nearly finished me. Then I started taking the flu shot, and continued to–until the fall of 2021. By that summer, I realized that I could not longer assume that anything they wanted to inject me with was something I wanted to be injected with.
My medical records continue to show–flu and covid shots past due–and will continue to show that. They have proven they don’t deserve my trust; therefore, I no longer give it. The one time my primary doc pushed it with me, I pointed out to him that the trials had been cut short with regard to the shots, and he told a lie right to my face. He said they were NOT cut short….unfortunately, even at the time he said that to me, there STILL wouldn’t have been enough time passed to have completed all the normal trials.
He lied. He’s still my doc because my requirements for RXs are basic chronic things but he no longer recommends shots to me. I am on 2 ongoing meds, having been offered 10-12 over recent years, all of which I turned down. Good grief, all you have to do is read the side-effects they acknowledge! I never have been inclined to “go there” with meds, and now—even less likely now.
Doctors have turned into Pharma salesmen/saleswomen. Many of them, anyway…
If it was such a lifesaver they wouldn’t have given it away for free. That was the first clue.

My husband and I chose not to get the COVID vaccine. We decided we wanted to wait and see how it all rolled out. We didn’t have any co morbidities, were both around 60 yrs old, had no ;Irving parents to worry about. If we had ever had had symptoms we would have quarantined ourselves. We were afraid of the fast tracking of it all.
Our decision pissed off many family members who had embraced the mandates and the vaccines. As more information comes out, we are afraid for them, pray for them, but don’t discuss it with them. We are trying to live out our best lives.
Guessing the 85% of CTH unvaccinated is due to the fact that most of us are critical thinkers. I have always felt so bad for those that were forced due to their job, etc.
Totally suspicious cat. If the government was sooooo strongly urging it ALL OVER tv, radio, social media etc. back at the time, and it was “free” then that’s a hard NO for me. That was my reasoning. It was fishy from the start.
What is shocking is that I see people still with masks on their face and also what is shocking is how many people took it when it was so quickly rolled out with no data or testing to make sure it was “safe” even though it didn’t prevent anything

Even during Warp Speed, I did not want to take it. It was done simply too quickly. And the MrNA version was brand new and I was reading about dead animals during the trials of that. I was living in CT when it was rolled out and my age group is 96% vaccinated- I’m 52. I had low iron and I had an iron infusion which was recommended to me- it led to a severe reaction of anaphylaxis and I was rushed to the hospital. I was so lucky the hematologist agreed with my assessment that it was not the right time to try any vaccine. But many of my other doctors kept pushing- to no avail. And then I got really lucky- I got diagnosed with a very rare cancer- I remain convinced that not getting the jab made it even possible for the surgery to be successful (I’m in remission). I’ve since read a study where women who are positive for the BRCA 1 and 2 genes are MORE likely to get those cancers if they got the jab. It’s just a terrible idea for any oncologist to recommend a vaccine while a patient is battling cancer- I cannot fathom how they did it.

I’ve never understand why naming the project “WARP SPEED” was considered a good selling point??? That is a negative as far as I could see—“watch us produce something in six months that ordinarily takes 5-7 years”…..makes no sense.
I tend to be skeptical of the narrative. I have been an avid CTH reader/ lurker since 2015. I have been so blessed by Sundance and by the many treepers who comment on the site. I don’t run to the doctor unless it’s absolutely necessary and never take flu shots. Instead, I rely on mostly good choices, exercise, prayers, natural remedies and good genes. Early in 2021 when the vax became available, people were terrified of Covid and were scrambling to get vax appts. I figured I’d wait and see. I wanted to do research before making a decision. I read and listened to Judy mikovitz and others. I decided to take my chances. Then I saw a link on CTH to the 2 hour Darkhorse podcast and was absolutely convinced. I spent the summer on a prophylactic ivermectin prescription and drove my family crazy listening to more science podcasts than I had in my entire life. Luckily, they also were convinced. We are thankful and healthy by Gods grace and a little help from Sundance and co.
I know you asked for those who who did not vaccinate to respond. But my husband and I both did the 1st two shots since we live close to my parents who where high risk. The pressure from our jobs and having grade school children made us go there. We almost IMMEDIATELY regretted it. About six months later we found out my heart was inflamed. It has since gone away. I “might” have dodged a bullet. I have had thyroid (cancer) probably due to exposure from 9-11… at the time I lived 1.6 miles from Ground zero. Already dealing with auto-immune, I should have been an emphatic NO. We were HOURS from having to upload vaccination status to my company when the Supreme Court ruling came down. We knew before it was approved that we WOULD NOT vaccinate our kids. We held the line against a LOT of pressure from school, pediatricians, and some other school parents. So while we did do the 1st — we said hell no to boosters. Got HCQ and Ivermectin for the house. My parents did not do any boosters! My sister and BIL who are nurses held out as long as they could. My sister did not fair well with either shot.
I did not get the vax as nothing ever made sense about it all from the get go. When everyone in power seemingly pushes hard to do anything I am immediately skeptical by nature. Over time clear risks and good data came out supporting my decision. I lose contact with friends, left a job that was months away from firing all non Vaxxed and have no regrets at all.
I also went this entire time up until now without taking any Covid test and I don’t plan on it. Anywhere that mandated it to come I refused to go to. The “test” was the central tool to the scheme. It spun up the fear, produced propaganda fodder, and sent people with the cold, mild flu, or nothing scrambling into madness and seeking wholly unnecessary treatments. I refused to participate in that charade. There very well might be a new strain of something floating around, but 99% plus Covid cases were the cold, flu, or other random biological dna that triggered the Covid test scam. Look up the test….they “simulated” the virus with various viral and biological substance. No such thing as an isolated Covid virus existed in the test preparation…..think about that?
I served 27 years in military service and I know what gaslighting looks like and this was pure gaslighting. You could not buy or sell mess going on. The toilet paper scam gave it all the away. My trust is in the Lord. No Covid-19 not once! I see this as a pre mark of the beast
In a way I consider myself lucky in that my wife, son, and I got covid early on before the vaccines were out and therefore we were never tempted to take it…we always believed natural immunity was superior to vaccine induced immunity.
The really sad thing is, I know a few people – all young, 6 YO-20 YO – who had Covid early on >>> and still got the vax when it became available for their age groups.
The Colleges that they wanted to attend required the vax regardless of previous infection. And the younger ones just wanted it themselves, (peer pressure at school) plus their dad was a big vaxxer and insisted on it.
Most of their parents were firmly against vaxxing, but when their kids were “forced” to get it, they felt guilty and submitted themselves.

No, I think that’s right. Late 2019 there were many folks I know who came down with a respiratory illness….which mimicked or actually was this particular bug.
It has been in the country since 2019. Many people, including myself, got the virus in the fall of 2019. I have read many testimonials to this in a number of sub stacks.
I’m pretty sure I had it in late December, 2019, also. Just a 24-hour bout, but my chest felt compressed and I never had that symptom before. 18 months later I took an antibody test to see if it was Covid and it came back negative, but I’m suspicious of that test result.
Never vaxxed, seldom wore a mask.
Sad that so many were duped by this unforgivable scam.
It had already “blown up” in China and started circulating around the world by Dec. 2019.
It went threw our household in 11/2019.
Because of info I read here on CTH, plus the rushed unconventional approval , was reason enough for me to choose a wait and see attitude on the vaccine. I eventually got Covid, recovered, and saw natural immunity was not even considered as a viable option. Big red flag.
As a side note, as a spiritual person believing in the Bible, I am hesitant in any forced “mark” in order to participate in society.( see book of Revelations)

I was initially concerned with the lack of testing, there were no long term clinical trials, side effects and long term repercussions were not fully known, yet people were flocking to it! The cocktail was experimental in nature and was not initially FDA approved..
But then, when the government was willing to exempt Big Pharma from liability and lawsuits, that sealed the deal for me. Big Pharma did not want any responsibility, nor did they have to assume any. They were no longer required to put out a safe product.
Both of my sons have had to take it; one being in the army and one an RN. I think about their health every day and curse the government and Joe Biden and everyone else who crammed this poison down our throats. .
When the Feds came out and declared that neither they nor the pharmaceutical companies would be held responsible for any adverse reactions to the jab was what made up my mind not to get it. Then, watching the outcome of the stolen 2020 election, I doubled down on my decision. Fool me once, shame on, shame on you, fool me… can’t get fooled again!
Have just enough science and medical background to question. Did as much research as I could as this whole mess unfolded.
I had to work very hard to convince my husband not to get the shot. (It is not a vaccine). Every day he was keeping track of the death rate and # of cases.
No shots for me, spouse and two of three adult children. The third choose to get it because of the hype. (she is on the right) She will not get a booster. She and her significant other got covid after the shot. Her son was required to get shot for work. He recently had a brief episode of a cardiac condition. Young man (20s) who used to work for us died of a “massive heart attack”. We can’t say for 100% that he got the shot, but he was working for the airlines.
Extended family wise those on the left not only got the shot and boosters, but were very afraid of those of us who didn’t. A few on the right who are elderly got the shot out of fear. Except for one member on the left, no one has disowned the rest of us.
I feel outrage at the treatment of the elderly who died alone, the young man who could only sit on the curb outside the hospital and cry as his wife was dying of cancer. (They let him and their daughter in as she was taking her last breaths).
I do feel relieved that we didn’t get the shot even after much pressure from the docs. Now I worry about who and how many are going to have serious medical problems and/or die suddenly.
We have learned so much about the evil people running our gov’t and the others such as the the WEF .

Two reasons: Moral-most mRNA therapies either use adult stem cells or fetal-from abortion. I know that the adult stem cells are expensive to upkeep while the fetal from PP are “cheap”. The pressure did not seem to allow any personal freedom-totally against the Gospel.
Scientific: no studies. No one could tell me half-life and long term consequences. Just the basics imo. And there were no double bind, retrospective studies to support it. I NEVER HEARD of a single drug/injection that had NO side effects. It was advertised like its the perfect drug!!!It was water for the thirsty, etc. I became wary of the fear factor since I grew up in political fear. And, considering that it came from china, I saw it as a dark ploy to hurt President Trump-I believe I was right.
Then I saw some of the info on CTH and other websites and I knew my suspicions were accurate. I was fired from one job.

I am so grateful to God and to all who rang the fire bells on this. I was a working doc who was pushed around. But when the need for my work was there they too caved in.
I thought of it as the prelude to the mark of the beast honestly. That’s what I told family and friends.

Since I grew up in Communism I was prepared for whatever was going to come.
I am at the age that I can say with St Cyprian, and I’ll paraphrase: The good Lord has been faithful to me all these years and you think that I’ll betray Him for a few more?

I took first two.
Military experience with EUA vax was exceptionally bad and told me this was “not going to turn out well” plus I did the quick-look research on Faucci and put the vax on a “never-ever” list right away.
At the time, I found the voices of the few medical professionals arguing for natural immunity and repurposed therapeutics as the way forward through the pandemic to be more persuasive than the vaccination advocates. Also, the entire narrative by the pro-vaccinators seemed nothing but propaganda to me.
I feel like I am swimming against the tide here, but I took all of the Covid shots as soon as they came out. No regrets. I am in my seventies and have certain risk factors. I didn’t get Covid. I am, however, against people being coerced into taking the shot. I was angry that the alternative treatments (HCQ, invermectin) were being discouraged. A person should have the right to decide what sort of treatment he/she wants, or no treatment at all.
EUA with ~complete abandonment of Nuremberg principles with zero debate, no ethics qualms, and data from Sweden saying that lockdowns were failed policy, and zero persuasive evidence that masks had any effect other than psychological, all suggested the vax was just another exercise in virtue signaling.
Worth pointing out that we knew in Jan 21 the vax did not stimulate production of IgA abs in the mucosa of the nasopharynx. This strongly suggested the vax would not stop spread, despite the lies of public officials and my own doctor. Add that to the fact that safety trials showed zero benefit in reducing death and the vax looked like a hoax from day 1. Science plus common sense said “do not pass go, do not collect $100 bribe.”
The whole thing reminded me of the time the FBI wanted everyone to click a link to flush a computer virus from their computers. Didn’t buy it then, not buying it now.

So timely. Just moved recently and had to find a new doc. This week was a routine visit and she asked about vaccines: flu, shingles, and CV19. I said I was hesitant because of the issues with blood clots. She looked at me like I had three heads. I neglected to tell her I had covid in January of last year but I did tell her about the vitamin regime I’m on (Dr. Zelenko’s but I didn’t say his name).
If she really presses this issue with me, I’m going to be honest. I don’t trust Pfizer and Big Pharma in general. I’ve lost faith in the CDC, the FDA and don’t trust Dr. Fauci….. (and would like to say……..as far as I could throw the little gnome). We need more honest discussion and data on long term effects. There just hasn’t been enough time as far as I’m concerned.
Also, I think I’ll ask her why most drugs that are advertised always seem to mention side effects but the Covid-19 Pfizer product doesn’t. Another question would be, what side effects have your other patients mentioned who’ve taken the jab? If they have mentioned side effects, why is this product any different and why don’t we hear about this more?

I run a market in CA. Witha 100 employees they look to someone to lead and reassure. I had to do my research and genuinely believe to get others to believe in me. We have tens of thousands of employees. No one was dying. The original zerohedge article was huge and the “emotional arguments” were weak in support of the lockdown. If anyone should have been dropping dead, it should have been people in retail. They weren’t… I’m not vaxxed neither is the majority of my family. This was the icing on the cake for me.

Before the injection came out (I refuse to call it a vaccine), I had visited my urologist for my yearly exam and we had a frank discussion about the virus (Jun 2020) and he told me about HCQ and zinc and D3 and C as a preventative, so I started taking those, (except the HCQ) because I couldn’t get itl
By the time the injection came out I thought about taking it but something didn’t seem right so I held off, but I continued to take the vitamins and I added Quercetin to the mix. The lack of any warnings for side effects was the deciding factor for me, plus some of the articles I was reading about the injections that weren’t promising.
My wife hasn’t taken it either and she is on the same protocol as I am and we both are feeling fine.
I was able to get a supply of Ivermectin but my wife and I haven’t had to take it for anything yet.
Everyone else in my family, with the exception of my two grandsons has taken at least two of the jabs that I know of.
I took it because my wife pressured me and I also thought that there was a chance it could give me freedom of movement. I regret it. My objection to the vaccine is not based on science or empirics. It is in fact economic. The incentives of the government, vaccine manufacturers, regulators, and traditional media are all aligned against the patient. The indemnification of the pharma companies and the massive locked-in profits due to government contracts creates an irresistable incentive to lie and cut corners.
Retired Magistrate here: I did not take the shot, neither did my husband. Due to my autoimmune disease, I do not take any shots; i.e., pneumonia, shingles, flu, etc. My body overacts to any type of shot and goes into overdrive. When my dog attacked me and I went to the ER, the ER doctor gave me a Tetanus shot; 4 hours later I was back in the ER with a temperature of 103, vomiting and with the shakes, all due to the Tetanus shot.
With regard to my husband, I did research and with his cardiovascular disease and cancer, we determined that it would be extremely harmful for him to take the shot. We both had covid in January 2020 before anyone knew what it was. We took Zicam and recovered. We had it again in May of 2022 and took Z-Stack and got over it. My husband still has not recovered his sense of smell totally, but it is getting better.
We got a lot of grief and ridicule from “friends” and neighbors for not taking the shot. My response was that after research we decided it was not in our best interests to take the shot.
Now, we have numerous friends that have been diagnosed with lung cancer, colon cancer, breast cancer and various heart conditions. Coincidence, maybe; however, they have all taken the shots and boosters.
I don’t ridicule those that took the shot; everyone has to make their own decision about what is right for them. I would hope that people would do research and make an informed decision and not just listen to what the CDC recommends.
