According to a Facebook announcement by her mother earlier today, Lisa Marie Presley (54), the only child of Elvis Presley, suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital. It is now being confirmed that she died.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” her mother Priscilla Presley confirmed.

Instead of trying to hold up Lisa Marie as a role model, “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known,” she should be an example to warn people of all the things that mess up the lives of people and hurt those around them. She was born into that “lifestyle,” whether she wished to be or not. From there, she had to be as “normal” as she could. Elvis in particular was very, very protective of her – as he should have been. But “you live in the limelight, every day.”

I will also take this time to say that those who do embrace drug use and legalization of such things are ignoring the fact that every person has a different tolerance for such use and I am living proof that not everyone can “hold their liquor.” I use liquor to represent all different kinds of drugs.

I had genetic testing done and I have multiple issues with MTHFR genes is probably why I cannot process alcohol. Possibly from my Blackfeet grandmother.
The women in my mom’s family routinely live to be 100 the men die before 60. I’m 70…. I chose to follow my aunts!

Any person in that public world is a captive, you cannot make enough money to be happy in that prison. I know some parents leave that life to raise healthy kids. What many see as a blessing is a curse, and curse is a blessing.
Don’t fool yourself – Lisa has lived a life of wealth, privilege and fame. She hob knobbed with famous people all over the world, had doors opened for her that normal people never get. She had everything she wanted and still it wasn’t enough to make her happy.

Lisa was given a very difficult life to live. Only daughter of a household name who was also a serious drug addict who couldn’t shake it. Little or no privacy, ever. Maybe that’s why she was for a time attracted to Michael Jackson – their strange and always-public lives had a lot in common. But it was always clear that both her father and her mother loved her dearly. She always had that. May she rest in peace.

There is nothing wrong with offering comfort to those who have suffered a loss. I do not know that Lisa Marie was a Christian. In fact, I honestly doubt that she was. If the Gospel is not offered to the family in their grief, all offered comfort is wasted. The only good funerals I have attended offered the Gospel message as the core of the service. I presented it to my own family at the funeral service for my unsaved father. It fell on deaf ears.

Lisa Marie’s Dad died at the age of 42-years old and Elvis’ mother who died at age 56. Elvis is reported to have had over 18 different drugs in his system at death.

My mom loves Elvis, I grew up listening to him. One of our summer vacations,early 70s I think, included taking us to Graceland. I remember some of the women were crying with excitement and hope of catching a glimpse of him.

I saw her being interviewed by Billy Bush on Extra before the Globes. She could barely talk or stand, she had to hold on to the man she was with. Her words were slurred and she was stoned or something going on. She looked out of it. So whatever she was on contributed to her heart going out. Priscilla must hv been aware of it at the Globes and sure it was a problem way before the event. So heartbreaking for the family and another loss that shouldn’t hv happened. With the knowledge of heart problems young wd think she wd hv been monitored but drugs were the culprit. Jab maybe. Very sad

My grandfather died at 93 and was hospitalized 3 times in his life once at 40 fo appendicitis’s, once at 84 for a hip replacement and then at 93 for sepsis he could not recover from.
He had his health with Little issue his entire adult life so when someone in their 50’s dies questions should be obviously expected but with respect
