I really don’t get it. Jim Jordan has said multiple times – He Does Not Want To Be Speaker! It is the Speaker’s job to line up votes and to raise money from donors. Jim Jordan wants to be the head of the Judicial committee.
McCarthy wants the job, President Trump wants him to have that job, no one else is stepping up for that job and this whole Gaetz thing is nothing more than the continued takedown of the MAGA movement through misdirection. It’s what McConnell does, and is what Gaetz has stepped in to do for the House side of things.
People are going to force a man (Jordan) into a position he absolutely does not want and is not qualified for (because his heart is not in it.)
The one time, the one time, Republicans can show the world they too can stick together (as the Democrats do) – which is the one thing, the only thing, President Trump has ever asked the Republicans to do, and they fall flat on their face over what, ego.
McCarthy is not Paul Ryan. People are projecting onto him what is not there. Out of fear. A healthy, well-earned fear, but fear nonetheless.
I really do not see forcing someone else to be speaker is going to be a win for making America great. It’s antithetical. McCarthy knows by know he will be watched like hawk, and people like Gaetz and Boebert are mutating into loud-mouthed bullies, everything that the left has been trying to paint MAGA with from day one.

As a cardiologist this makes commotio cordis less likely. If the impact caused an arrhythmia and rhythm was restored, he wouldn’t arrest again an hour later. Full eval needed.

Yes, fear of death was the primary fuel behind the fear of covid. Apparently, almost most of those who were stampeded into obedience to be shot had never considered the reality of their own death. The covid fear campaign forced the consideration.
It’s pretty weird to think that they still, apparently, think that personal physical death is not applicable to them. The subliminal covid campaign continues to threaten death to anyone who doesn’t keep up their boosters.

How convenient. Count the number of times that this phrase pops up, and how many people are just going to run with it and not weigh the likelihood given the numbers. And also look at the different media outlets willing to run with this angle and consider the source.

Loyality. It is at once PDJT’s greatest strength, and his greatest weakness.
PDJT is relentlessly loyal once he decides. And he kindly trusts that those upon whom he awards such loyalty will respond in kind. He consistently sees the best in humanity.
Snakes are completely disloyal. Virtually all who are within the Beltway apparatus above a certain strata of relevance are snakes. Because only snakes will survive in that filthy cesspool at those depths. This includes many in the media that reside there.
And Kevin McCarthy, like Mitch McConnell, Bill Barr, and all the others, even including some in the family orbit, such as Hope Hicks, are snakes.
He will stand with them and support them to their bitter end.
And they will quickly shiv him, and MAGA, in the back at the first opportunity. Because their only loyalty at the end of the day is to themselves, their immediate families (and even that is uncertain at times) and their swamp masters (out of fear).
It is the fundamental difference between NYC power dynamics and DC power dynamics. PDJT is a master of the NYC dynamic. They are very different environs. It is something that PDJT is still coming to grips with.
I keep seeing this same narrative repeated about Trump. So, let me ask if not McCarthy then what? When McConnell was Senate leader what was Trump to do? The Senate refused to go into recess, what was Trump to do? He was not a dictator. He was harassed by the entire media and impeached twice. He seems to be a very pragmatic thinker to me and works on the things he can and leaves to posterity those things he can’t. At the end of the day, he exposed the swamp to the world in ways it has never before been exposed. He’s not omnipotent or a God for crying out loud.

Is it pragmatic to chose dubious people, hoping that they will see the light, and yet repeatedly stab you in the back? I agree that he exposed the swamp, but his incessant willingness to work with the enemy has lost me.

Strategery. I understand it. A smart statement by PDJT
I was very disappointed in President Trumps endorsement of McCarthy. Maybe he feels he needs to demonstrate a more moderate Trump to get the Never Trumpers less vocal to help him get re-elected.
Don’t know, but IMO, a bad move to keep his America First support. The grass roots and his 75M voters want a change in Republican Establishment governance and that includes McCarthy.
Seems like there would have been no downside, only upside, for Trump to keep his powder dry in this. Makes me think either (1) he genuinely thinks the alternative to McCarthy would be a “coalition government” or (b) he has some sort of deal or understanding with McCarthy.
Either way, still seems it would be wiser that he stay out of this, especially today, because his endorsement hasn’t helped so far. Weighing in is no-win: either McCarthy pulls this off, and Trump helped sell out the base, or McCarthy goes down, and the commentariat has another talking point about Trump’s “weakness.”
As for deals or understandings with McCarthy – that trust was Trump’s Achilles heal the first time. He needs to be thinking and acting more like Gaetz.
I think it must be a strategy. He knows he has the America First support but must believe because he is running under the banner of the Repubs that he needs to outwardly show support for McCarthy in case he does win by some BS the speakership. He knows how DC is played and is playing the game while hopefully behind the scenes is working on something else. He has to know we need change and he will need a change for himself and the country. If he doesn’t see that, we are in bigger trouble then it appears.
Or, similar to Jordans support for McCarthy, when Kevin goes down, they can’t “blame Trump” ,…but they will, anyway of coarse.

I called my SC congressman, William Timmons this morning and asked, as if I didn’t know, who congressman Tillman was going to vote for. When I got the answer, McCarthy, I asked why. There was silence on the other end. The intern couldn’t tell me. I said I knew he had served in the Air Force and that I was grateful. I quickly followed up with, “ There were 20 patriots in the house yesterday and unfortunately Congressman Timmons was not one of the patriots.” I also shared that the grassroots/his base did not want McCarthy and that it was time to listen to his constituents and not pacs or lobbyists. I said I was very angry and to please pass this message to the congressman. She stated she would do so.
Who knows… she probably hung up the phone and laughed saying, “Another peon just called.”
Good of you to call. Whenever I call congress I am informing the intern. Hopefully I can inform/wake up the intern with the truth/real information and the intern will tell other interns and others etc and the truth/info gets spread. That is my realistic goal when I call congress and politely inform them of whatever the issue is.
