“Years from now, it is unlikely anyone will remember that thing they unwrapped. What they will remember, what will have much greater impact, is a message from YOU to THEM that they matter, that they are loved.” ~Sundance
I first wrote about the great foreboding in 2021. I never thought it would apply to a second, let alone a third, advent. Essentially, this national foreboding narrative stems from a Godless political message intended to diminish the true meaning of this celebration. Seriously! Stop for a minute. Just stop.
Stop and think about the purpose of that narrative, and then ask yourself, are you succumbing to it?
This is the day of great joy, the greatest joy of all. A day when we celebrate a loving and purposeful blessing provided to us by our Creator. The universal truth. The pure perfection of a loving Child born in the most ordinary fashion for us, to us, to guide and share the most blessed and purposeful message that could ever be delivered to mankind: You are Loved.
Pause amid the human distractions. That message of love is pure.
Stop, sit in peace and join together in the joy.
Yes, it is true, all around us is this great sense of foreboding ugh, and it’s not just connected to a virus; it’s everything before and everything since. Everything being created around us is weird, everything created around us is less comfortable, everything created around us is intended to project less joy – and as a consequence, it requires an intensity of thought just to carry on ordinary events.
Christmas, the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is tonight and tomorrow. Yet, almost everything created around us seems purposefully placed to distract from that joy – and focus our attention on what joy we are missing.
Diminished faith creates anxiety, a sense of foreboding, a sense of fear and worry and a sense of trepidation. Additionally, evil tribesman know the strategy to create the environment for control, isolation.
Isolation, the tool to remove hope, begins with a diminishment of God. A faith-filled person is never alone.
In our daily lives, we encounter ordinary disconnects now. For many, isolation from the workplace has disconnected our sense of interaction, our human connection. Unfortunately, and as a natural outcome of these social and technological advancements, we are accepting disconnect and creating a void inside ourselves. At the same time many are physically disconnected from their families.
Many families will not gather this year to celebrate the joyous event of Christ’s birth. Perhaps parents and grandparents will not see their adult children for the first time in years. Perhaps destabilized families are disconnecting as they succumb to cultural fractures, economic challenges and purposeful roadblocks created by people who appointed themselves as leaders.
It is almost unbelievable when you contemplate the damage. Politicians, yes P.O.L.I.T.I.C.I.A.N.S, have created terms and conditions, instructions for you and me, with the expectation that somehow, we will adhere to their fiats or accept their cultural aspersions. I reject this.
I reject this effort with every fiber of my being.
Division, regardless of intent, is not a term or condition that I will accept. However, amid all of this bombardment, flux and ugh, even simple tasks like decorating the Christmas tree feel somehow senseless, seem less joyful.
Perhaps financial worry, again driven by the outcomes of man, stems the joy in shopping for family and friends. Perhaps the shine within the cheer is slightly dimmed, because all around us is something we cannot quite describe, yet we feel it.
Perhaps tears flow at times, and we struggle to understand what this unusual anxiety is all about. Then, we begin to struggle with the feelings of shame or guilt for being weak and allowing our humanity to pour out of our human selves. Then, at the worst possible time in the year, our faith organizations are slow to understand the importance of fellowship and community amid an upheaval that has taken our center from under our feet.
The insufferable lack of regional leaders standing tall only makes the anxiety worse. Where is the brave?
Where are the purposeful few who know the benefit of larger messages? I do not fault their absence, because their void reminds me to stop, look at that face I see while brushing my teeth, and remember the greatest strength of all is from within. Nothing has the capacity to remove the strength provided by a loving God unless we allow it to, unless we allow them to.
As our grip on our familiar surroundings becomes more tenuous, we are faced with dictates and mandates that only exacerbate the issues our community faces. Meanwhile, this ridiculous media drumbeat an incessant noise intent on destabilizing us. Perhaps we cannot quite put our finger on why the impact is worse now…. but it is. This effort of theirs is more impactful. It is all ugh. It is all just ugh.
If you find the assembly of these simple words familiar to your current sense, first understand YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Second, understand there is nothing wrong with you. This blanket of anxiety is laying across our entire nation, indeed the entire world, and no matter where we stand – we are all sensing a various level of this ‘ugh’ with some familiarity. However, that said, it is important to know this is transitional. We will not be in this place long. This too shall pass.
How do we shake these destabilizing feelings and emotions?
How do we reconnect to the core-spirit we carry in our lives?
These are the questions we should use to leverage ourselves back to a center of peace and hope. These are the questions that empower us to recharge our sense of purpose and life within the lives of others, including our community, family and friends.
♦ The first way we shake this ‘ugh’, is to give to others without reservation. Giving with purpose is the true spirit of human contact. The giving is not related to money or wealth, the giving is related to our human purpose. Perhaps we give a smile. Perhaps we give a kind word. Perhaps we give a compliment, or perhaps we just give time to another.
You could give a more valuable gift this year to anyone simply by reaching them. Perhaps send an email; or better yet, write a letter to a dear friend or family member, or just pick up the phone. Reach out and tell them they matter and express why their place in this life of yours is important. Remind them of your specific thankfulness and connect to the purpose of why we endeavor in this thing we call life.
Years from now, it is unlikely anyone will remember that thing they unwrapped. What they will remember, what will have much greater impact, is a message from YOU to THEM that they matter, that they are loved.
That moment you create, perhaps those multiple moments provided by your strength, will NEVER be forgotten.
That look in your eye or sound of your voice that reached into them and emphasized their value, their worth, their importance. That is the gift they will remember in great detail, forever.
The important thing is to give, and to do it without any other intent or purpose than to fill their heart.
♦ Within the giving, remind yourself what this journey is all about, and look around to recognize how fortunate we are to have this life. Choose to cherish the ultimate gift from a loving God who wants joy and hope to permeate our human sense.
Hope is the one necessary human element beyond all other facets of life. Give the gift of hope and light to those you love by first reminding yourself of the gift that a loving God has given us all. It is too easy in our human sense to forget the biggest gift we have been granted, the gift of life. The ability to live and choose how we engage in the lives of others.
Remind yourself of the kind of purposeful HOPE that would leave the most glorious throne to be born into a manger as a baby, only to grow into a Man willing to lay down His everything for the flawed people amid humanity. Why? Because that hope is pure. That love is perfect.
No politics or false sense of security can overwhelm the message of HOPE that a loving God has provided. No effort of man or human disposition can surmount the greatest love of all. The message of Christ’s birth is bigger and greater than any COVID virus or legislative battle.
“No power of hell, nor scheme of man” can come close to the purpose of God’s intent and love for you as a unique person qualified to receive that love.
Wrap yourself in the blanket of that unconditional love. Stop what you are doing.
Pause in the peace of this moment… set down your troubles, LISTEN and FEEL.
“Long lay the world in sin and error pining, til He appeared and the souls felt its worth. A thrill of HOPE; the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn…”
Let the tears flow, and with them release the foreboding. Engage in the next moment with a loving purpose filled with the HOPE that He provides. Fall forward to the centered purpose of your life, a very special life, and reflect on the gift we are too quick to diminish.
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.”
Revelation 21:1-6
Abiding love to all.
You matter.
You are important.
You are loved.
Steadfast,
~ Sundance

Nice
“A faith-filled person is never alone.”
As someone whose family is dead and endures long stretches of solitude, that’s some truth right there. Thanks 🙂
Merry Christmas, Dunes2021!
Not going home for Christmas myself this year due to “snow dunes” … blizzard where my family lives. Good thing Love transcends space and time.
Merry Christmas……Psalm 31:24
God bless you.
You may feel that you are alone.
You are not.
Merry Christmas Dunes! My family is also deceased and today is my 79 th birthday….the hardest day of the year. My conscientious mother always magnified today because she didn’t want my birthday to get lost in Christmas.
Like you, I also have long stretches of solitude but have learned to let God lead me to whatever I am to see or do at any particular time so that I do not feel alone.
Today, I was guided to get on my tree branch to commune with all of my wonderful friends in our phenomenal, loving community.
Merry Christmas everyone and God’s love to all.
Happy Birthday! You are a part of us all.
Happy Birthday, Chooseamerica. Keep on keeping on, sir. With hopes you will feel His abiding peace always.🙏
Wishing you a Happy Birthday and a very Merry Christmas, Chooseamerica! 🙂
Happy Birthday Choose. We are all so blessed to have this tree to hang out in, thanks to Sundance and the crew here at CTH. Merry Christmas all…
Thank you for the post!
Your sincerity shines in your posts.
Needed this now.
Thank you.
Me too but must stop cutting up the onions.
By coincidence, here’s what I just now posted on the Treehouse Prayer Requests thread, which you can get to by clicking on the candle in the upper right corner of this web page. God is good, all the time!
Christmas Eve Praise Report !!!!!!!
A big Thank You to Jesus for an early Christmas present and to everyone here who’s been praying for my niece who was rushed to a children’s hospital in the Buffalo, NY area earlier this month with an ear infection that escalated into a fever of 106 and fainting. In the hospital she had been intubated … The updated good news is that they successfully removed the tubes and while she is still weak, my niece’s condition is improving! She can eat and drink normally and is able to take oral medications.
My prayer had been asking for the miracle that my niece be able to come home for Christmas … Well, what seems to be standing in the way of that now is that Buffalo, New York is currently experiencing a blizzard and all the roads are closed, and it may take awhile to dig out after the wind and snow stop.
In any case, praise God for His mercy!
As for my brother-in-law’s grandmother who is 97 and is having heart issues, she is not doing as well, and any prayers on her behalf continue to be most welcome.
Wishing all here a joyous, blessed, and merry Christmas.
May God richly bless all Prayer Warrior Treepers here this Christmas!
The Magi started the tradition of giving gifts to celebrate the brith of our saviour, Jesus Christ.
Thanks, Sundance, for giving your readers such a beautifully written gift to lift our spirits and keep the proper perspective this Christmas Eve. Peace to you and Peace to the world.
GOD started the tradition of gift-giving from before the foundation of the world……He foresaw the need for a Savior and provided for one and prophesied one for thousands of years before bringing one forth through the line of King David…..the wise men were merely giving a token of their appreciation towards their Messiah while He lay in the manger…….the patriarchs even saw the need for the Savior and were saved by Him before His sacrifice on the cross as told in the Old Testament and then the New Testament of the Holy Bible….Read Heb 11 often called the “Hall of Faith”…..many patriarchs of the OT are shown to be saved by starting “By their faith…..”
Lord, during this Christmas season, we are in need of Your hope. The world can be such a dark place, and we so easily get caught up in all the negativity that is going on. But, Jesus, You are our hope! You came into the world to save us from our sins and give us eternal life. I pray that during this holiday season, people will come to know You as their personal Savior. That Christmas time would bring on a whole new meaning for them. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
Amen and ty Covertly Astute. Christmas blessings and tidings of comfort & joy.
Sundance, you are greatly loved by many that have never met you.
God Bless you for your service to our nation and to our entire human family.
Joyeux Noel a tous!
Amen. Merry Christmas to you and yours and to all on these pages.
ditto. Much love to All.
Great post, Sundance. Thank you.
And on another note, Sundance … here’s another Christmas coincidence in your post!
I had been planning to post “O Holy Night” by Josh Groban in the Open Thread shortly after midnight when it turns Christmas … and here’s why:
Had a dream, shortly after Easter, and the dream took place in the middle of summer, strangely enough. Found myself living in an old-fashioned neighborhood circa “Our Gang … The Little Rascals” … and all of us neighbors were going to put on a live entertainment special in someone’s garage, each of us performing what we wished.
I stood in line waiting my turn to perform, and started rehearsing my song … which was “O Holy Night.” I remembered the words all the way down through:
” O Holy Night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear’d and the soul felt its worth. ……….. ”
… and then could not remember the next line! Which frustrated me so much that I woke up from the dream and had to look up the next line on the Internet …
” … A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!”
So yes, there’s still hope, and we still need to seek it.
And Jesus is our greatest Gift.
Merry Christmas Sundance and all Treepers!
Thank you God for your Son. I am not worthy of your grace and mercy; but, on my knees, I humble myself before you and say thank you.
Come Lord Jesus, yes, come soon!
Twenty One years ago to this day I lost my late wife. Six thirty two PM, Christmas Eve. Why Christmas Eve ? I don’t know. I admit it was hard not to stray down the dark path. Something inside me told me to keep the faith. That faith helped me meet my new wife of thirteen years. I believe the circle will be unbroken. Cause theirs a better home a waiting. God Bless you all Treeper’s. Merry Christmas . And always keep the Faith!
“Cause theirs a better home a waiting”
yes indeed, bwf.
We may not meet in this lifetime, but I pray to meet y’all there.
I pray you, your wife and your entire family have a wonderful Christmas full of God’s greatest blessings, Blue Water Fox.
Thank you for sharing your heartache and joy with us this day.
Merry Christmas. (Interesting stat : 67% of widowers remarry after the loss of their spouse compared to only 17% of widows). I always thought that was sad but interesting.
We need somebody to take care of us. lOl. Merry Christmas.
Women spend their lives cooking, cleaning, doing laundry while men do the home repairs, snow shoveling, lawn mowing, etc. If you think about it, most men who were the recipients of home care haven’t ever had to make a meal from scratch or do their own laundry. IMO, that’s why they subconsciously (or consciously) go on the hunt for a new spouse!
On a humorous note, after my mother-in-law was widowed, people would ask her about remarrying. Her emphatic reply was, “No! I don’t want some old man to have to take care of!”
She passed away at 92 1/2, and enjoyed her independence til the end!
Everytime we remember her saying that, we laugh.
🤮🤮🤮
I will pray for you.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39, KJV
Merry Christmas!
Only one thumbs up to give!
“How do we shake these destabilizing feelings and emotions?””
Sometimes even too much to drink isn’t enough.
Sometimes laughter isn’t just the best medicine, it’s the only medicine.
A most special Christmas for my family. We have had our daughter returned to us after 4 years of estrangement which has been a blessing. Our son and daughter in law just last week went through the loss of our first grandson (we will just get to know him later) during birth. It was expected as they carried an anencephalic baby to term. God’s mercy took him just before birth. His was a severe case that likely would have been painful had he lived for any time.
My wife and I had the privilege to be the ones to first come into the hospital room with his big sister (1 year old). What a sacred time as I prayed and we mourned. My son asked me to play How Deep the Father’s Love. I can’t sing so YouTube was another mercy. We blubbered along.
We are still with them for Christmas before journeying home next week. That journey takes us to see our oldest daughter and her growing family. 2 granddaughters and a grandson expected in May. Joy and grief, sinners redeemed, faith, hope, love shall remain. Here is my new favorite Christmas Carrol. Oh Come All Ye Unfaithful.
God bless you!
I am so sorry you lost a grandchild, Deplorable, and thankful your daughter has returned to her loving parents.
The losses of this life are devastating, but bearable knowing we indeed will meet again in Glory thanks to the Lord’s great mercy.
If it is not too personal or painful, could you please let us know what they named your grandson?
Raven I would but it is my son and daughter-in-law’s story to tell. And they live in conservative community where they might be “doxxed” by a Treeper. He is healed and that word defines his name. Thank you for asking though. Merry Christmas!
Totally understand.
Merry Christmas to you and all those you hold dear!
Thank you, Sundance, for once again reminding us of our TRUE blessings.
Merry Christmas to all Treepers out there.
You are not alone.
You are not powerless.
God bless us, everyone.
Thank you Sundance…for once, words elude me…profound emotion, quietly, within my heart.
May God hold you close…and all your loved ones….
For us this year, Christmas is present. Graciously, our fam has chosen to forgo presents. It has been a difficult year. Every day this month I or we have tried to do a small thing in our community or for our neighbors to spread the spirit of Christmas.
Blessings to you all Treepers, God bless us every one.
That is what true love for your brother is! Not giving presents but giving of yourself! God bless you!
Politicians, yes P.O.L.I.T.I.C.I.A.N.S, have created terms and conditions, instructions for you and me, with the expectation that somehow, we will adhere to their fiats or accept their cultural aspersions.
—————————–
Never. Death to tyrants.
Option before to repent and be saved…but yeah I agree.
“Perhaps the shine within the cheer is slightly dimmed, because all around us is something we cannot quite describe, yet we feel it.”
Not gonna lie. I need to vent with my Treeper family. Its been a tough 48 hours, and Im feeling very down and depressed.
I feel helpless today. With all that is going on around us, yes, I feel something, and it isnt good. Sick feeling in my stomach. A sense of foreboding. Its worry/stress/anxiety. Im not quite used to this feeling. As I look around me and at the state of our world, it is quite overwhelming for the first time, for me personally.
I am a God fearing man, but all of this has just got me pinned on the ropes. How does one get over this feeling?
Half my family is not coming for Christmas dinner, for the 1st time in my life. A close knit, loving family, ripped apart by the lies and deceit. And now also unemployed, for the same reason…..as of yesterday.
My one son and daughter refuse to attend our yearly gathering, along with 6 of my grand kids. Yes, they are withholding our love and caring, over left/right, vax/non vax issues.
It breaks my heart in two pieces, all of this. But wait, there is more…..
Just got fired from my job for no cause, yesterday. ( Boss is a leftist trash bag. ) 5 years of hard work and service, never missed a day, worked through 35 chemo and radiation treatments as well. I know 0 people who had throat treatment like that and kept on going…0…it took a lot to sit in a piece of heavy equipment in the heat and cold, when I should have been resting and recovering from 4th degree burns. But no, I worked….because I had to. No one was paying the bills for me. My wife is not in good shape physically, I am the bread winner. This was my Christmas gift from a TDS infected leftist boss.
I got crapped on, because he was in a bad mood. I objected to his disrespect, and he fired me. He is one of those narcissistic leftists, who knows everything, and spews BS at work all day long, about Trump et al….
In essence, I just needed to vent here, and let out some of this. Im not one to whine or complain, but this last few weeks of crazy has me in a place Ive never been. I try to be strong, it isnt working. I feel physically ill, and worn out.
I pray, to the Lord, that this is just a fleeting moment in time, and all will work out. But the way the left has twisted everything so far, to the point of family hating on each other, doesnt bode well.
I need a hug or something! My wife is taking this family problem hard as well. Ive never felt less Christmasy ever…its a tough day today in my home.
Im doing my best, but I have to admit, Im gutted. And worried, for us all……
I am heading out the door to church in a few minutes and will ask God for special Christmas and New Years blessings for you there, that the Lord will richly bless you, graciously provide for all your needs, and bring healing and restoration to your life and peace to your family.
Bob, you and your family will be in the prayers of our little congregation tonight.
Heavenly Father, BoboftheNorth needs to know Your presence in a real way. I ask for him in Jesus’ name to experience that this day. Help him to know the truth of Psalms 37 and 73. Help him to trust You and You alone. Help Bob to be able to support his dear bride and bring healing to those family relationships as well. As You did for us heal the estrangement and make his family whole. In Jesus’ unmatchable name I pray!
Amen
Amen
🙏💕
BoboftheNorth: On five or six 4″ X 8″ cards I have two Bible verses here and there all over my house, because I never know when a quick glance of it will keep me from getting unnecessarily close to that edge over there….
Psalm 94:18, 19
“If I say, ‘My foot slips’, Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. IN the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.”
There’s nothing magical about a Bible verse, obviously, but it says what is so. Sometimes I go into what I call freefall–just a bottomless swirl of whitewater…and remembering what is so gives me a second option–(the first option being going along and going under).
Here’s a hug for you (()) and this acknowledgement: you are not crazy and you are not imagining how hard this is. It just is. The presence of God is deep enough and wide enough to deal with reality. The eternal God is my refuge; and underneath are the everlasting arms. That is so, too. (Deut. 33:27)
Consider this a virtual hug. You have so many burdens outside of your control. Please let us know how we can help. You are not alone.
May God surround and comfort you with His love, provide His healing touch to you and your family and open doors to new opportunities for employment. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Dear brother in Christ, you may have mis spoken…
“I am a God fearing man, but...”
2nd Timothy 2:7 “Consider what I say; and the LORD give thee understanding.”
2nd Timothy 3:1 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
1st Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but GOD is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
‘Fear’ is for the non believer, and what they have coming. ‘Revere’ the exact same word from the Manuscripts is a proper translation for those that love the LORD.
Boy, must GOD ever love you! A lesser man, He would have shown an easier way out. Yours has been a tough row to hoe! GOD bless you for your perseverance. HE didn’t put these temptations [difficulties] upon you, but HE does test those HE knows have a lot more in them! It’s accepting HIS Divine guidance to throw of the slag, or the dross if you will. The fire in the smelter is WAY too hot for most!
GOD obviously knows YOU have a much greater capacity than most of us. HIS plan is perfect. You just need to endure a bit more, study, discover what HE has in mind for you, and then boy are you gonna’ sail!
Personally, I can’t wait to see what Bobofthe North does next! It is gonna’ be awesome to watch!
Father bless you and yours this Christmas, 2023 is gonna’ be amazing!
Everyone of us who reads this wishes we could deliver those hugs personally, Bobothenorth. When we are at our lowest, Almighty God is at His strongest. Rest assured He hears you.
My prayers for all of you are offered with heartfelt hopes that this nadir will be short lived. And moreover I pray that the hearts of your children will be softened. I am dreadfully sorry that your tribulations have come all at once and at Christmas. As we all pray for your situation, please let God hold you up when you cannot stand. Your family in these branches are always at the ready for listening and intervening for you with a loving Father. Always, sir…🙏
Know that you are not alone. I have a friend whose children will not visit her. One, the son, will talk to her on the phone. The other, daughter, will not even that, for same reasons that you are experiencing this situation….son has children also. She is so lost in not knowing what she can do..of course misses them so much. But, nothing can take away a mother’s or father’s love.
You said half your family? Please enjoy the half that is coming….my friend does not even have half.
Keep the faith; God is with you. Amen.
I am sending you a YUUUUUUGE hug, BobofTheNorth. I know how you are feeling, I have been there. Just know that everything will work out. It always does. My Dad taught me that, and he was so right.
So, chin up! Have an eggnog, hug your wife and carry on! You can do this…
Merry Christmas!
I’m a congregation of one but I will pray for you too. You poured your heart out and God is listening, as are we. You are not alone. Sending love and {{hugs}}.
Hang tough Bob. Keep crying out to Him.
I’ll never forget your post. I’m praying for you and yours.
Merry Christmas. 🔥✝️🔥
Retired Magistrate here: I am sending you and your wife a huge hug from our frozen hill in Delaware County, Ohio. I am so sorry that you are going through all of this. I don’t know what else to say other than you are loved more than you can possibly know by JESUS.
🙏 🙏 🙏
Sending hugs to you and your wife; enjoy those who do show up, and pray for those who don’t. Really thankful for this Treehouse we have, where we can vent, share, laugh and cry, more hugs coming to both you and your wife.
Praying that the next job you are hired at will be the perfect job at the perfect place giving you and yours perfect satisfaction in both pay, benefits and enjoyment.
Thanks Bessie, and all the rest of you good and loving humans. This is what we all need.
As an update, my other 2 children, and 6 other grandkids, also brought some friends. We all got together, and had some good laughs, a few tears, and some embarrassing story’s. God provided me some relief from the stress and hurt. We all have full belly’s, a roaring fire going, as I look across the room, I see love and happiness. Even without 10 other members of our family missing, the sprit of Christmas is ringing through.
This is all I needed. Some grounded reality, and some grand children love! Man, those little humans just make me smile, no matter what mood Im in. They are a gift from our God. I treat them as such.
God went even further, after all of your prayers FYI, Treepers.
My daughter actually called me, for the first time since August, made me cry, my wife too. It was nice to hear her voice for sure. She is my only daughter, and she is a good soul, it is more her husband pulling the strings. . She apologized for mean words she has said over the last year.
Tomorrow, I will be able to see those little ones, ( who arent so little anymore) . Your prayers must have been heard guys n gals. God heard you, I have no other explanation for it. I did not see this coming, considering the vitriol previously spewed.
I thank each and every one of you who posted, and liked my posts, and the others.
It means a lot to know we are all not alone, when the chips are down, and things seem rock bottom. you guys are awesome. Every last one of you!
I will get through this. We will all get through this. Gods love for us will sort it out, eventually.
We just have to be there for each other, and keep the faith.
My wife and I give you all a heartfelt thank you, for your kind words, and wisdom.
I had a little chat with our Lord tonight. It calmed me down and put me back in the right place, mentally. I am a strong man, am always the rock of our family.
Dad had a bit of a breakdown today. The Treehouse cared, and that is enough for me.
God Bless you all. Things will get better. 🙂
BobofThe North, after reading your first post and all the prayers for you from other branch dwellers, before I could get my prayers into words I was asking for a miracle and lo and behold your following post let me see it happen.
Christ’s Peace my man!
Will be praying for you today….for God’s peace and comfort. Let His Love for you fill the gaps and be the balm for your painful hurts.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, THANK YOU CONSERVATIVE TREEHOUSE, HAPPY NEW YEAR
Oh, Sundance…I needed this desperately!!! Last night I went to bed with a panic attack and thought I would be going to an emergency room today. I had just read about the $1.7 trillion bill that was passed and I was so upset – especially when you hear the expanse of money given to the FBI and to expand abortion. We need leaders to fight for us and the court system to give us a win once in a while. Why is that too much to ask for? Thank God for your wonderful words and thanks be to God that we have Him. Love to you and all Treepers this Christmas!
I feel your pain SP.
Having a tough time myself, today.
” hugs”.
Have to say this really helped me. This has been a tough year for me. My husband has Parkison’s and taking care of him and see his mental decline is heartbreaking. Knowing the LORD will bring us through is the only thing that has kept me going.
I will be bold enough to ask for prayer for him, please.
I pray all of you here will have a most BLESSED CHRISTMAS and you will feel the LOVE OF THE LORD in some way every day during the coming year. HE is there always. No matter what the stupid politicians do GOD’S will is the will that comes to pass and it is always right. Never give up hope and never stop praying. LOVE TO ALL.
Prayers for all of you Ms. Butterfly – and Merry Christmas and a blessed 2023!
Thank you so much.
Joining you in prayer, Butterfly gal, for your beloved husband, that God will richly bless him and heal him. Praying with the Word “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” — Romans 12:2
Wishing you and your husband a Blessed and Joyous Christmas!
Thank you so much.
Thnak you so much
My heart goes out to you as I actually know what you are going through. My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2013. We often listen to this prayer https://prayingmedic.com/2022/01/02/healing-prayer/. Maybe it will help you and your husband. I ask Father God for lots of help – healing, of course, but also strength, patience, joy, greater faith. And some days I just have to turn off the social media news, leave the troubles in this country in God’s capable hands and focus on the love of my life. God Bless you and your husband!
Thanks so much. Will listen to the prayer. You are right. Some times we just need to shut the world out and be with the one we love.
You and your husband will be in my prayers.
Festivus Greetings From Senator Rand Paul:
“This year, I am highlighting a whopping $482,276,543,907 of waste [that’s nearly 1/3 of the $1.7 trillion spending bill] including a steroid-induced hamster fight club, a study to see if kids love their pets, and a study of the romantic patterns of parrots. No matter how much money’s already been wasted, politicians keep demanding even more.
As always, the path to fiscal responsibility is often a lonely journey, but as I’ve done
in years past, I will continue my fight against government waste this holiday season. So
before we get to the Feats of Strength, it’s time for my Airing of (spending) Grievances!”

Thank you Sundance !
Ah Beautiful! The joy of quietness and of giving of love in a dark world. The Peace that passes all understanding
Merry Christmas! Peace and love to all. My favorite Christmas song!
Not perfect…but forgiven.
Is there any greater gift than the fulfilled promise of Almighty God, our Father? Everything else pales by comparison. This Christmas especially do I feel the magnitude of it..so much that it is impossible to describe.
Be exceeding glad and joyful, my friends! The Lord is coming…Hallelujah!
Merry Christmas to all🙏🌲
The strong help the weak and protect the children. Those with more than enough money help those who don’t. Teach others to identify evil, show others how to stand against it.
And always encourage others, listen to them. You may well not have a solution, but give them your attention. Without judgement.
I again make this resolution for this next year, which was not promised to us.
Christians are promised eternal life. We are warned of terrible things to come, but this will be followed by the new earth.
Peace on Earth
Amen
O magnum mysterium,
et admirabile sacramentum,
ut animalia viderent Dominum natum,
iacentem in praesepio!
O beata virgo, cuius viscera
meruerunt portare
Dominum Iesum Christum.
Alleluia!
O great mystery,
and wonderful sacrament,
that animals should see the newborn Lord,
lying in a manger!
O blessed virgin, whose womb
was worthy to bear
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Alleluia!
Possibly one of my favourite works for Christmas, pascal. Thank you.
May I add another please?
“Mirabile Mysterium” by Jacob Handl, performed with exquisite feeling by Chanticleer, whose voices seemed to be chosen for this serene offering.
Ad rem this is for you–I too wish you were a neighbor. Just maybe sharing in the 16 Christmas blessings I put in 16 mail boxes around me might bring you the Christmas Spirit I was paying forward. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.
Sundance Thank you for all your love & care throughout the years. Merry Christmas.
To all my lovely Treepers Smile for the Christmas Spirt is our Lord’s love that we carry within our heart every year, day and minute of our life to Never be taken away.
Merry CHRISTmas! May you all keep and pass on the Spirit of CHRISTmas that’s within your heart forever…Romans 10:10 ESV For with the heart one believes and is justified!
What an absolutely lovely and generous thing to do for others Kin! I hope you see my reply….darn (!!!) I miss our old notification system.
You’ve done nothing but bring kindness, joy, wit and intelligence ever since you alighted on your Treehouse branch. For this, we are all blessed.
Love and blessings to you and your entire family…
Thank You Ad….Pray your Christmas was awesome.
I had to come back to the Christmas posts
So I could try and sleep tonight.
We all need to pray for those in Buffla and all over the nation who do not have the means to sufficiently survive these current storem.
Sundance, your message is beautiful. You are truly a gift to us FROM God . I was raised in the Pentecostal church. My grandmother was a great speaker. I remember her reciting Revelation 21, many times, for the congregation. ….no note cards, with inflection in all of the right places. Thank you for bringing this beautiful memory to mind.
Peace to you and yours.
This fits here nicely.
“The Myth of the Pagan Origins of Christmas”
Turns out we Christians were celebrating Chrstmas on December 25 long before there were pagan holidays on that date. Sort of like Christmas predating kwanza, a pagan holiday invented by an atheist communist to compete with Christmas.
Merry Christmas, everybody.

I choose to live far from the madding crowd but never feel alone. Inside my chest is a very small angel twirling around and around joyfully and singing. There is also an old frog rowing a boat and singing haiku beside the kitchen stove. Outside in the wind and rain the trees live and breathe and have their being and I love them and the wind and the rain. Nothing like despair is anywhere near me.
Living near the Pacific Ocean and the Cascadia Subduction zone I do wonder about earthquake and tsunami but not too much.
The church I left 25 years ago now flies a rainbow flag which I find very amusing. Blessed Christmas to all.
Oh, hey, I do remember my best Christmas present: a pair of hand-me-down roller skates.
Merry, I hope you found a biblical church and a faithful pastor. Skate on.
I did try to find another church after the Episcopal went to the lesbians. queers and bums. The next church went belly up when the pastor was arrested for embezzlement and child groping. The third church, methodist, has a preacher who kisses his husband at the altar in front of the six old ladies who go there. so my church is just me and the trees and the Trinity.
Well, Merry, at least you are in good company now.
The problem with churches is they are all populated by us sinners.
Still, there are many that manage not to encourage and celebrate things the bible tells us to avoid.
If you ever get an urge to try organized religion again, you might look at a congregation associated with the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, or the Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Despite the state names, they are nationwide.
(But unfortunately you would find rainbow flags in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the largest Lutheran denomination in the country.)
I mention those just because I’m familiar with them. I have to emphasize that there are many other faithful traditions and religious groups I don’t know much about. So I don’t mention them specifically.
Merry Christmas!
There was this little girl at my first Community Christmas Dinner. The little girl was beaming ear to ear holding tightly on to the doll that Santa had left for her. The doll was nice but obviously a bit used. Took a quick break, for it rought tearms to my eyes….
Lovingly restored by my dad .22 rifle. Bolt action single shot. Mom gave the game away 2 weeks from Christmas when she sent me on an errand to where dad was working on the rifle! ☺️
One room schoolhouse was a little over a mile from home. Dad and his two brothers would start off together with their lunches. Dad would hang back and when out of sight get his old gun and go hunting. I have an old photo of Dad at 16 with an enormous white tail buck. Nobody knows for sure what kind of gun but all think it was one his uncle had in
My old husband has one of those. He also has the musket his grandad toted in the civil war with bayonet attached and the leather sheath for the knife
Thank you.
Bless you Sundance…
I have had my “Christmas present” for over 35 years now……it does not have to wait for the season or the day for me to be thankful for it and it is available to all men who accept it as it is freely given…….there is no greater gift ever given to man nor could there ever be one……..as I taught in Jr. church one morning there are three elements to any “gift”
1) some item that has inherent worth that can be given to another
2) a transfer mechanism that makes the “gift” something that is now possessed by the giftee
3) the acceptance of the “gift” because without this there is no true transfer
Mankind has had the ability to accept God’s gift since his fall in the Garden of Eden….the biggest impediment has always been his pride to NOT accept the gift freely given by his maker
Merry Christmas to all.
Prayers for everyone to be filled with hope, peace and love.
Ma
God Bless you and your family. Merry Christmas!!! God bless you all!
I just got back from Home Depot, needed to order a door. Isabelle, my go to for doors, got a phone call, she looks quickly at the screen, I gotta take this, he’s in the hospital. I nod, the nod, ofcourse! I quickly got up to give her privacy. Came back when call was wrapped up. “How is your son?” A 15-20 minute chat ensued, it wasn’t busy. Isabelle needed a chat and God put us together so she could talk with someone. I’m usually 100mph but, pulled up a chair. It was time well spent for us both. Being present can also be a present to whomever needs it at that particular time. Merry Christmas to all.
God Bless You111
That was so good of you. Listening can be an awesome gift.
Born to us, a SAVIOR, which is Christ The Lord.
Glory to God in the highest!
Regardless of our troubles and strife in this world, we are loved, saved and forgiven…by His grace, to live forever in Heaven.
Thank you kind sir. May God bless you and yours.
Thank you for this uplifting Christas message, Sundance. On this Holiest of days, as Christians we can be grateful that no one has the power to take away the love we have for our dear Lord Jesus, nor the love He has for us and all of mankind. We are Blessed that His Divine Spirit has touched our hearts and given us eyes and ears to know His truth.
Merry Christmas to all, and on this Holy night may your hearts be filled with joy and the inspiration of God’s gift to all of us.
Very good ..SD…. As in the past your post’s are right on the money… simple expressions, “how are you doin”, “ thanks so much”, “I’m fine how are you” etc..I get smiles back all the time.. which of course keeps me in upbeat mood..🤣.. keep those good vibes coming…😀👍
🇺🇸💪😀👍
Love and Christmas Blessings to Sundance/family and all those here on this wonderful site. A perfect blend of politics, love, Spirit, and good food recipes!
Any words I would attempt to add to Sun Dance’s beautiful essay would just show how inarticulate I am, so I will just say GOD BLESS ALL and to all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Thank you Sundance .. Your articles are always spot on .. this is beautiful and much needed.
Wishing you, your family and all of your readers a very Merry Christmas .. Many prayers
Merry Christmas Sundance to you can your family and thank you for being you. I believe God’s love is a Holy Love, a Perfect Love and is more than our minds can imagine now but, praise Him, we will.
Lest we become so overwhelmed with commercialism, worldwide turmoil, there is hope, and the Birth of Christ assures us of God’s love. Relax and put things in perspective, we are saved. Rejoice. May your Christmas be filled with warmth and love.
Thank you for your generous, thoughtful, kind reminder. I seemed to have been most reluctant to stir up my annual late December Christmas Spirit, this year. I just put out our symbols last night. You help me see it’s- whatever it is – all around us.
The Reason for the Season is frequently present though, and I am grateful for God’s grace. We are loved and blessed.
This is God’s show, and we just don’t know the bigger picture, or what’s next, at least I know of precisely nobody who is “everywhere and in everything”. It feels “ugh”, and still…God is present. I am grateful.
Thank you Sundance for providing this tremendous service. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Amen!
Merry Christmas Sundance, Menagerie and everyone behind the scenes that make this place of truth, honesty and refuge possible! Christmas blessings to our Warrior, President Donald J Trump and the ever beautiful Melania! Thank you to all the folks here that contribute and share wisdom and perspectives from all over this glorious nation, proving we are not alone.
