“Oh…..the HUMANITY !!”
Thanks for the much needed laugh, Menagerie….and a very happy Thanksgiving to ALL !!!
Here is a nice Thanksgiving Story a Grandma who thought she texted her
grandkids texted a stranger to come to Thanksgiving.. He texted back if
he could still come after telling her he was a stranger.. She said yes and
they have spent Thanksgiving
together the last 7 years..
Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful sunrise.
Update it is, have ground fog and the rays are cutting thru it.
A big Thank You for fixing the g mail posting glitch.
Got a present yesterday—had bought a one owner motorcycle in July (always been in Florida) was finally able to get the title yesterday.
If you think dealing with one DMV is bad try out two, multiple “employees” tried to say it was a stolen bike because there was a bike in MN with same VIN #.
Five months later—
Turns out the one in MN had a missing digit and a note that said they weren’t sure if it was right.
The bike is a college graduation present for a friends son.
So it was an early Thanksgiving.
Have about 10 wild turkeys that come here twice a day to eat so need to get their food out—they have no idea what day it is and how lucking they are. LOL
Happy Thanksgiving Treepers. May your blessing be many, may the sun shine bright and make this family time be one to remember.
24# bird is on the smoker at 5am, the grandkids asleep on the floor in front of me, my 3 dogs have me surrounded and the cofvee is hot.
My day is already off to agreat start.
God Bless you all.

Well folks, my 2 year old Whirlpool oven went on the fritz again last night. I am so sick of “Made in America”(of Internationally sourced materials). I am convinced the ChiComs send the shoddiest components here to be assembled into ready made junk making the “Made In America/USA” the worst appliances you can buy. I really miss Kenmore products from the ’80’s. I have 2 5lb Publix Greenwise bone in turkey breasts dry brining in the fridge and they won’t fit into the charcoal grill with the drippings pan and rack. I may end up cooking Thanksgiving on the on the competition smoker which will be fun because so many of the dishes require different temps. I need some coffee.
So sorry to read the oven news. You might be heartened to see what I’ll be cooking my traditional Russian fare, Beirocks, today in, after baking apple pie last night. It’s also a Whirlpool, circa 1968. I can’t say I bought it new but it has performed, flawlessly, for 35 years under my ownership. Even the clock and timer work.
I have faith that American ingenuity will win out. If the oven failed, I’d be cooking on top of the fireplace insert with cast iron cookery from my grandparent’s ranch. It works. Good luck!
And our $6,000.00 Bosch oven blew a circuit board control in less than 1 year. I set my flip phone timer when I use it because the oven timer is such a pain to fiddle with!
I nailed it with the smoker. It was touch and go, because I had to keep running inside and out to keep my stick burner(no electronic temperature controls) smoker right where I needed it to be. One of the more stressful meals I have made, but everybody seemed happy with the outcome.
Bought brand new Whirlpool washer, dryer and microwave because of “buy American.” Could not believe the engineering that went into these appliances.
The washer, on light load, spun as if it were going to go into orbit, making a noise like a rocket. I dreaded using it. The dryer shook. The microwave was tinny and lost the little covering on the side after a few uses.
An Amana dishwasher was just installed which replaced a GE in housing that I occupy. In a matter of months it failed to drain. Supposedly, it is a subsidiary of GE. Sticker on the front says, Made in the U.S. Overwhelming smell of plastic that lasted for two months.
Happy Thanksgiving!! I am so very Thankful each day for for CTH! I found I’m not alone with my thoughts and love of my branch here❤ Hold one another tight and give Thanks to the day!
“They’re there, by your side, they seem normal, but they’re superheroes. Even if I were fully vaccinated, I would admire the unvaccinated for withstanding the greatest pressure I have ever seen, including from spouses, parents, children, friends, coworkers, and doctors.
Humans who have been capable of such personality, such courage, and such critical ability undoubtedly embody the best of humanity.
They are everywhere, in all ages, levels of education, countries and opinions. They are of a special kind; these are the soldiers that any Army of Light would wish to have in their ranks. They are the parents every child desires and the children every parent dreams of. They are beings above the average of their societies, they are the essence of the peoples who built all cultures and conquered horizons. They are there, by your side, they seem normal, but they are superheroes.
They did what others could not, they were the tree that withstood the hurricane of insults, discrimination and social exclusion. And they did it because they thought they were alone and they believed they were alone. Shut out from their families’ Christmas tables, they have never seen anything so cruel. They lost their jobs, they dropped their careers, they ran out of money…but they didn’t care. They suffered untold discrimination, denunciations, betrayals and humiliations… but they carried on.
Never before in humanity has there been such discrimination, we now know who the resisters are on Planet Earth. Women, men, old, young, rich, poor, of all races and all religions, the unvaccinated, the chosen of the invisible ark, the only ones who managed to resist when everything collapsed.
It is you who passed an unimaginable test that many of the toughest Marines, Commandos, Green Berets, astronauts and geniuses could not pass.
