Personally done with this holiday. See Danny Haiphong’s live show this morning. It put to rest any misgivings.

I loved this show as a kid.
A hat tip to the great Howard Hesseman, who died this year.
Gary Sandy revealed he was having an affair with Loni Anderson while they made this show.
Life was good!
Reminds me of Woody Allen’s joke that he wanted to be re-incarnated as Warren Beatty’s fingertips.
Thanksgiving is fine, but life just ain’t fair..

This is the only playlist that I found that had actual songs being sung and not just ambient music..this is my third time to listen to it..still cooking!
Look up Jake Westbrook on youtube … he has some great playlists and graphics for all season.

I don’t know where the recipe blog is but I think I just had one of the best Thanksgiving meals ever due to a couple of recipes from the people at this site.! Please note, I cooked for myself and had a wonderful meal so if you are alone treat yourself to a scrumptious meal with no one to please but yourself.
I cooked a turkey thigh complements of Harris Teeters. I removed the skin, rinsed it off, and coated it with Progress0 Italian bread crumbs. Then, I spread Triple Crown Organic BBQ sauce Hickory Burbon and then, H/T Menagerie, I wrapped 4 slices of bacon around it..I used turkey bacon.
I also used a recipe someone here posted for Easter. I mixed together, brussel sprouts, mushrooms, carrots, celery, and substituted Japanese sweet potatoes for butternut squash chunks, then I tossed in olive oil seasoned with p0wdered garlic and onion, and then I melted a butter/butter substitute, and I put mine in a cast iron skillet on top of the stove to substitute for oven and slowly cooked.
I had mashed potatoes with Imagine foods organic turkey gravey with some chopped mushrooms and wine added.
OMG, that turkey was the best ever and so was everything else!!!
We had a refrigerator nightmare last night. Had to move all frozen items to friends after keeping outside at 26 degrees over night. Adjusted the Ref for other items!
I cooked for two. Had not made a turkey in awhile…but like riding a bike. Just keep at it.
Was a lovely perfect, small dinner of a splendid turkey breast, cranberry pecan stuffing and sautéed chopped spinach with Key Lime.
That was it. Please yourself…and/or your Taller Half!

First two verse excerpts:
She couldn’t write, she couldn’t read
Her parents both were gone
when she was 17
She took her little sister
On a magic carpet ride.
To the land of milk and honey
On the other side
She had no clothes
She had no home
When the man on Ellis Island
Said it’s time to go
She took her little sister
To walk the streets of gold
She kissed the ground
Of Mother Freedom
In this land of dreams and hope
I’m thankful for all those people who’ve supported me following my cancer diagnosis earlier this year, and the awesome care team that I have.
Chemo and radiation therapy suck, and surgery in January will too. However, I’m looking forward to being cancer-free and retired in 2023.
