I think you may just be right, we have done nothing in the face of things we would never tolerate. Now we not only tolerate we are part of it. Very sad to see we are not much compared to the men and women who gave their lives for this country.
Some still do, but not enough yet. Life is still ok for most people. The ones who need economic help are the ones who run to the govt. to save them and probably already vote Dem for just that reason. Until there is a real disruption in the middle ground folks, the majority, no big enough protests will be happening.
we still have a wonderful power to use as consumers. Spend less and the govt. gets less taxes. Avoid certain companies and they have issues aka Disney. That is our real power. We are the money providers, we are the ones working and producing, we are the ones buying goods. If we just get together on the power of consumerism, we can do a lot of damage that they cannot come after us for directly.
We cannot allow them to issue cards run by the state that give us credits to only buy so much. No vaccine passports either.
For now, we still hold the purse strings and yes by doing some of that stuff, it makes it hard on all of us, but it could work if enough of us do it. We need to do something big and bold and in their faces without them being able to retaliate directly. Look what they did to the J6 protesters. If we want to avoid that, do it where they cannot easily stop us, where we effect the bottom line, hurt the govt. financially.

I’m mystified why Garland’s appointment of a Special Counsel is even possible. Garland actually said he’s doing it because Trump is now a candidate for President! How is this allowed? Is it not obvious political persecution? The Jan 6 committee and Garland had many months to dig up evidence to support an indictment, and they staged a circus but had no results. So now they want to extend the circus? Doesn’t Trump have any recourse at all? Do we have such a glaring omission in our laws and Constitution that a person the Dems don’t want to run for President will be persecuted legally if he does run?

You’re correct. Why do we keep asking why? We know our laws are manipulated, the Constitution ignored, the elections stolen all under our noses and yet we allow it.
Reason is, not enough people know what is going on and naively play by the old rules where when you did something wrong, you got some consequences so you didn’t do it again, where the pendulum swung politically instead of being stuck on one side.
When the judiciary caved to the left, became political, started legislating from the bench and began ignoring or twisting the law in biased ways, denied hearing legitimate cases using “standing” so many times as the basis for throwing a case out, we should have all taken notice. Not all Americans, or even a majority, has yet, imo.
Many people still think, (or don’t want to be bothered worrying about it)we have a country that pretty much plays by the rules of the game as usual, that the govt. will eventually do the right thing most of the time and that there really isn’t anything we can do about the bad stuff so they don’t want to think about it. Too bad because we do not have that country/govt. anymore and we need to do something about it.
My suggestion is the Republicans go on offense. Impeach DOJ with articles concerning the use of special counsel to Obstruct Justice. Charge him with Insurrection for trying to use SC to undo the new members of congress ie. Interfering with an election….Play their game….laws be damned.

I’ve been wondering where all these “true conservative” rule of law types, like Romney, Cruz, Pence, etc. are on this issue. Investigating someone relentlessly without probable cause in hopes of finding a crime is the kind of thing our founders expressly sought to prevent by barring general warrants. Yet the government is doing exactly that to President Trump and none of these true conservatives has a thing to say on the subject.

But also, I’m not a legal or Constitutional expert so I don’t know if Trump has any recourse. Clearly this is political persecution, when the AG of the country says he’s investigating Trump because Trump is now a candidate, I wonder how that can be legal or constitutional. Apparently it is.
I want to add I find it interesting that if Trump weren’t running for President in 2024 apparently Garland wouldn’t feel it necessary to appoint a Special Counsel. If it looks like Trump has broken laws then his candidacy shouldn’t be an issue.
That should be the reason SCOTUS should be engaged.
Trump’s team would need to file a lawsuit for the matter to appear (eventually) before the Supreme Court. What argument would they make? Does political persecution by one party against another violate any of our federal laws or the Constitution?

A relative of mine proudly told me yesterday that he charges his EV at a “free” station (not sure if paid for by other customers or it’s getting a government subsidy). I can’t fault him for finding a “free” station. But then he said something about taking the bus and it dawned on me that he takes the car to the “free” station but because it takes hours to charge an EV and he doesn’t want to sit there he actually takes a city bus home, and then takes a bus again to go back to the station to pick up his EV. !!! Who wants to do that? He’s retired so has more time than a working person would have, and kids are grown so there’s that advantage too. But come on! Why be proud of that? This guy lives a very low impact life as it is, uses very little electricity or fuel, produces little trash. It reminds me of people who are extremely frugal money-wise, they get a high from being frugal. But we should all be held to such expectations. And if every EV owner wanted to use that “free” station I wonder how many times the guy would need to drive over there only to find someone else using the charger and he would have to drive home.
The insanity of all of this boggles my mind. I’m not going to live like it’s 1900. I am low-impact too but I’m not going to take a frigging bus so I can charge my car for “free”. Sheesh.
He is also getting “free” use of the roadways that we pay for in the gas tax in every gallon purchased to cover road and bridge repairs. His EV causes wear and tear yet he pays nothing.

He has lived frugally with respect to resources all of his life. I applaud that, I know I’m well below average too when it comes to using resources and producing trashu, though not as low as he is. It was the bus information that shocked me. How can anyone think it’s reasonable or desirable to take a car to a charging station and leave it there and bus home and bus back?
A while back I pointed out to him that he already has such a small impact on resources why doesn’t he demand more of celebrities and other wealthy people who are way above average? I have already decided that those people can STFU, they have no right to tell ME how to live because they probably consume more resources in a couple of weeks, and produce more trash, than I do in an entire year.

And the infrastructure isn’t ready for everyone to switch, I know downtown parking ramps in Chicago have only a few charging stations per level. (angry sigh)

I argued with him about the new climate agreement, that Biden has pledged $1 billion for “reparations” to countries which include China, currently the worst polluter. I told him we don’t owe anybody anything, and if there is truly a climate emergency then everyone should be forced to cut back. I told him that of all of the high profile climate people right now only Greta seems to be honest, the rest are liars and hypocrites. Greta actually makes an effort to walk the talk, so to speak. The schemers have brought her aboard to make it look like their actions are credible. Until now she was too ignorant to understand how she was being played but I think she’s figuring it out now. When you have uber wealthy uber powerful people controlling the agenda, it’s guaranteed their #1 goal is to gain more money and power and anything else is far down the list of priorities. Something I noticed on a long distance drive yesterday, at non-truck-stop diesel pumps I filled at, four in total, the pumps were running about as slow as a battery charger charges a battery.
At one station in Weed, yeah, that’s a real town’s name in CA, it literally took twenty minutes to put in 100 bucks of diesel at the princely sum of 5.89 a gallon. That’s over one minute per gallon. I could siphon it faster, and have.
Back in the mid-90’s I came up with a novel idea of using forklift batteries, the huge two ton ones, solar panels and a charge controller to charge a then new GM Impact. They wouldn’t sell me one. I didn’t live in their ‘target area’. Yep, Ed Begley bought one and it was featured on TV. That ended my interest in that stuff.

I listened to a National Grid spokesperson interview. They said they are just now “thinking” about the electrical and charging infrastructure needed to roll out electric cars and trucks. It will take 4-8 years. Transmission lines, distribution, much work needs to be done. Truck stops will need to be the size of a football field.
Now you know why your electrical bill is going up. We’re paying for this new upgrade that no one wants.
not going to work…our current grid took over a century to develop and a Princeton study a few years back said we had the capacity to add 24M PASSENGER EVs at the current generation level seeing how they want to add another 150M in the next 10+ year where do you see the electricity coming from….if they appropriated the money now and started a complete reworking the infrastructure would not be in place by then to service so many vehicles….not to worry though….the secret they are not telling you….there are not enough raw materials available around the world to produce the EVs they dream of having on the road

In grocery stores I’ve noticed the plant based meat products do not seem to be flying off the shelves.
I’m hoping few people buy those products also. Let the companies pushing their fake plant based meat go bankrupt!

I have nothing against people wanting to eat plant based meats, especially if it’s for health reasons, but something like that should be voluntary.
I have tried them, but I find vegie-burgers to be inferior to the real deal. I’d rather shave a few years off my lifespan and enjoy my food.
There’s not enough lithium to make all the batteries, nor is there enough electricity as we aren’t willing to use coal and nuclear.
Endgame is that 90 to 95% of us will not have a private vehicle and will not be allowed to travel by air.
I honestly think the Dems and their wealthy donors would LOVE it if the middle and lower classes were squashed like that.

How is a cross-country traveller supposed to be able to recharge during a trip? Instead of 10 minutes to fill the tank and pee and grab some snacks, it will turn into a multi-hour ordeal? And if all of the chargers are occupied maybe an entire day?

I had posted months back, or maybe even last year, some info about a major popular parking structure in Chicago which supplies parking not only for office buildings and stores in the Loop but also Millennium and Grant Parks. Heavily used. They have a shockingly low number of charging stations. Many people commute to work from long distances, many people drive into Chicago for shopping or events from long distances, how the heck are these people supposed to charge their vehicles if there are only 5 stations for every 300 cars? I remember posting the instructions at that garage, one of them was to not leave your vehicle in the charging spot after it has been charged. They have that instruction because that’s exactly what people are doing and there’s no way to stop it. And in defense of those people it’s possible they cannot leave their offices to move their cars. It’s a total debacle.
Edit: I just re-read the info for the garage. Right now the charging is on a first-come first-serve basis, which means the early people hog the spaces, right? But they are working up a plan so you can pay more to reserve charging time. lol
Not only does the pay-for-the-charging-spots disenfranchise poor people, so does any plan to force people to buy EVs. i’m not poor but I have one gasoline-powered vehicle which is older but has very low miles and it’s in great shape and I barely drive it, I certainly don’t want or need another vehicle, especially one that requires so much tending.

I wanted to see if it’s more dangerous to ride a bicycle than drive. The first search result that came up is from a law office, it says you are twice as likely to get killed while riding a bike than driving a car.
And the National Safety Council says bicycle deaths are on the increase, probably because more people think they should commute via bicycle because global warming.

Donating to whoever asks (and even the organizations that once seemed trust worthy) under the guise of charity can lead to funds not being used for the purported intent. Instead, it can go towards someone’s pockets or even political causes. Just look at the list that some grocery stores represent as charity every time you check out, as you might notice that it may go to political action groups under the guise of giving to the “community“.
That feeling can be countered by giving to something that you were able to personally vet, maybe an item versus cash. When you know that you’ve taking the time to do that, you can know when you go past any group seeking money that it’s not a matter of cheapening out but of being a good steward of what you are privileged to share.

My belief is that we can support Trump in 2024 without destroying RDS, who we may need in the future. RDS has shown great leadership skills and great instincts in responding to attacks from the Branch Covidians and the Woke Mafia. He was an important voice during the “pandemic”, which may have gone on much longer if we didn’t have states like Florida (and a couple others) to point to as examples why the ridiculous lockdown policies were not needed. Sure, he’s playing some politics now, but so does almost everybody else. Trump himself needed to court the establishment at one time.
I’m pretty sure that real establishment types would love nothing more than to neuter both Trump & RDS. What better way to do that than to pit them and their supporters against each other?
The way I see it rds is allowing himself to be used by the never Trumper establishment.
Accepting their money is a hostile act against the base and their wishes that demands suspicion and vigorous scrutiny.
If he can’t see that, then so be it.
If PDJT chooses a very good running mate for 2024, it would mean that the Trump legacy carries on for 28 and 32 and that RDS’s chances for ever becoming president become very slim.
I’ve posted before that RDS may be attaching himself to the establishment because it may be the only avenue he has to the white house. He may be hoping and planning that the establishment takes Trump out of the running.

Nobody is trying to destroy RDS. I think even the most hard-core detractors are OK with him being Florida Governor. I have said many times I would vote for him to be Florida Governor but I refuse to vote for him if he runs for President in 2024.

Retired Magistrate here: DeSantis asked President Trump for help when DeSantis wanted to run for Governor of Florida. President Trump backed him and DeSantis won; not by a lot but he won.
DeSantis is a young man; President Trump is not. DeSantis could have waited until 2028 to make his bid, but when the money got big enough he took it. He is now just another “Big Club puppet”.
When President Trump’s home was raided DeSantis went into hiding and when he came out we got the “top gun governor” ad using his children as props. Then DeSantis went around supporting candidates that President Trump had already supported in the mid terms. Again, President Trump doing the heaving lifting and DeSantis riding in on Trump’s coat tails.
When a special prosecutor was appointed to go after President Trump, again for just being President Trump, crickets from DeSantis. President Trump supported DeSantis and what has DeSantis done; stabbed President Trump in the back.

I am so on edge lately about this political crap I am getting upset by the most mundane things. Like my Christmas tree lights! I like to have my tree all decorated by Thanksgiving Day so that morning I can go downstairs and turn the lights on and start enjoying the tree. So I set up the tree yesterday, plugged in the lights first to make sure they were working, yes they were working, so strung them on the tree un-lit, then plugged them in again to start refining the placement and ARRRRRGGGGGHHHH about 1/4 of them were dead. I felt like grabbing that tree and knocking it over and smacking it into the floor. lol I actually had to just stop and walk away for the entire rest of the day. I pulled out a new string this morning and got the lights on during lunch.
We’ll, that’s two minutes of my life I can’t get back reading this diatribe .

I know how you feel, got stuck in traffic for 25 minutes today with no movement. I was about to scream and hit the horn but I just did some deep breathing instead.
I think we have been in a persistent state of agitation since late 2015 or early 2016 when the persecution of Trump started up, and we’ve never really gotten a break. It’s one “WTH??” after another. It’s difficult to live like this but I feel like we have no choice, because dropping out will only make everything worse.
Retired Magistrate here: I understand your being on edge. When I start to feel that way I go for a walk and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. Then I start making a list of all the things I am thankful for: salvation through JESUS CHRIST, my wonderful husband, enough food to heat, fuel oil in the tank, electricity to turn on the Christmas lights when I turn them on, a roof that doesn’t leak, helpful neighbors, I can still walk, I can still see, a church down the road where we are free to worship JESUS, every breath I take, every beat of my heart, my brother is still alive, parents who loved me (both now deceased) and the list goes on and on.

I know the feeling. Yesterday I went into a CVS to pickup a prescription. LOOOONG lines for drop off and pickup. Normally I would have grumbled a bit and then chalked it up to weekend before Thanksgiving.
Then I got to thinking about Obamacare. Then about how CVS has a monopoly as the mandatory pharmacy for many insurance and Medicare programs. Then thinking about how none of the 4 people behind the counter gave a shite about wasting our time.
Then the pharmacist stops filling scrips to spend 10-mins talking to a woman about a rash on her arm. Then he goes back to filling scripts only to stop again. This time to vaccinate a skinny teenager who had just waked up to that counter with no appointment.
I was fuming inside so I figured it was best I just get out of there.
GoodRx prices are usually lower than my worthless insurance anyway.

I guess it is hard for the Average Person to believe there are categories of people who view the rest of humanity as little more than playing a video game of strategy leading to world domination. I’ve been that way before. I had to force myself to acknowledge that Hitler + Mao + Stalin were real + lived in the same era as my grandparents + parents…
The people in the video, especially once they quickly get passed the Cold War environment, don’t consider that the Elites building the luxury bunkers are not expending wealth because they are afraid of some remote possibility the masses will revolt if an unlikely collapse happens. The Average Person doesn’t want to consider – that they have spent tens of millions of $$$ not on a chance but a certainty. Spent it on something they knew was being prepared + diligently worked toward.

This was not during the Cold War. Koinonia House moved to New Zealand in 2010 after a couple of years preparation.
It seems to me, looking at history, once some mentalities reach a high level of wealth or power + influence, the world becomes to them like a video game… That it means little more to them to do things in the real world than it does to me to click a mouse to send fictitious armies to blow up cities or destroy a territory’s farmland so it can’t support human life in a territory I can’t conquer any other way…

I feel fine. If I were still married or had young children like my younger cousins, it might be different. But, I’ve been doing what I can to prepare for possibilities in my own life. Above all, I know the eternity of my soul is secured. I trust in God. I thank God I was born at a time I could travel the world + experience life in very different cultures before this Covid insanity + it’s vaccine passports + mask mandates.
Whatever the future holds, I’ll be fine. As more people wake up to the probabilities, the better chance we’ll have at reversing things…

I’m glad Mansell admits that masks do work. Not only does she admit that a person wearing a proper mask correctly is protecting him/herself, and she admits that unmasked people are endangering others.
I do question her ability to judge childhood development though because that’s not her area of expertise.
