Since McCarthy has no evaluation baseline, I have no expectations. I cant locate anything that he has done to further freedom or protect the rule of law. He does talk a lot, but talk does not always end with action, eg, Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham , and many others have those same characteristics. He has all the characteristics of a RINo loser. I would not trust him in any position of importance.

That’s not necessarily settled, either. At least a few of the people who signed the letter endorsing Ronna for RNC chair said they would support Lee Zeldin if he ran for it. So the question is, is Lee Zeldin going to run for it?

We know it’s all hollow so it all comes down to what Matt Gaetz and Co are going to do. MTG is cosying up to him because she knows, with his position so precarious, that she can use her position to get stuff out of him.
McCarthy will pet MTG on the head until he knows it’s a lock on the speakership, and then he will throw her away and tell her she’s too radical for any committee assignments. She will, of course, “be shocked” that she was used in this manner.
