Ron DeSantis has to ask himself if the country and the globe that his donors foresee, if the government those donors are attempting to “buy” in any and every way is really the one he wants for his kids.
When you are part of the elite, you no longer have to worry about the future for your kids. The elites live in sheltered enclaves around the world. They will always have nice food, great shelter, new clothes, and security.
I am sure that he is excited for his entrance into the elite circles. It gets better from here. His future looks bright. Republicans (The House of Representatives) now control the purse strings. They can send clean appropriations bills to the Senate for vote. Fund the parts of the government that need to remain open.
That’s something then Speaker Boehnor never attempted 2010-2014 when Republicans had the House but not the Senate. So Republicans went to the polls in 2014 and gave control of the Senate to Republicans as well. 2014-2016 Congressional Republicans still rolled over and wet themselves whenever Obama acted like a dictator.
Right after the 2018 midterms when Pelosi became Speaker again she made comments about the power she now wielded. She used some clumsy phrasing and was rightly criticized for her comments, but she was essentially correct. The Speaker of the House (the people’s House) is Constitutionally an incredibly powerful position – if only because the Speaker controls the purse strings.
Boehnor and Ryan abdicated that power when dealing with Obama, and Ryan actually used it against Trump. Hopefully McCarthy shows better judgement.

I used to rail against the unwarranted invasion of privacy known as your “credit score”. Oh no, I was told. It was an invaluable aid to potential employers and landlords.
Nothing nefarious, I was a conspiracy theorist for thinking otherwise.
As I swore of credit 25 years ago, haven’t been concerned about my credit score; in fact a lousy one is better!; makes “stealing” my identity a fruitless endeavor.
Sounds like this “social credit score” COULD impact me, however if I continue to engage in banking (credit union) ,…I never did get my “refund” of my donation to the Canadian Truckers, for instance.
Yes…..It is a corrupt tool to benefit banks not you. Even affects your insurance cost aside from your driving record. It punishes the poor by putting nicer things further from their reach. Just shut down your credit at all three agencies. You still have the option to open up the info when needed if just for a day. It stops all those invitations for credit cards and stops credit theft. Important to note…stop giving your real SS number out at the doctors office, Crooks sale your info. I have had letters from various businesses turn down my application for credit (not me) because they could not confirm my credit.

No need to apologize for bringing up this issue because there are a lot of people, myself included, who really wish President Trump had made different decisions and trusted different people in 2020! But I do agree with the other posters who have said that this is probably NOT the time to start addressing that, although I really pray that he will order a FULL and FAIR investigation in 2025 if he wins again in 2024…a no-holds barred look into what everyone in a position of authority did, leading up to 2020, throughout the “pandemic” and specifically related to OWS, of which the President was very proud, but which I do not think he fully understood! (And why would he?? His background was in business, NOT medicine or government, and the people he trusted on those issues LIED to him about basically everything!)
If the truth is finally exposed, I would love to see an Oval Office address, where he lays out all of the facts, naming names, and calling for punishment to the FULLEST extent of the law of those who deliberately manipulated facts/data, and LIED, both to him and to the American public at large. Also, SOME of what they do is using the voter rolls to find “lazy” voters; those who WOULD vote for your candidate, but won’t expend any effort to do so.
So, you use the voter rolls to identify them, and take the ballot to them, help/ encourage them to fill it out, and make sure it gets counted.
The OTHER thing they do is conflated with this; identifying and even creating ghost voters; names on the voter rolls that no actual, living person exists.

WE don’t want to start filling out ballots for ghost voters, but we can be “ghost voters” and have small operations of “ghost busters” to eliminate such names from the voter rolls.
WE can regularly check large apartment complexes, for ballots mailed with no apt. # that are simply left for anyone to pick up, instead of going into a locked mailbox of a person, or returned as “undeliverable” as they are supposed to be.
Deprive the enemy of these ghost voter ballots, and ghost voter names.
Until such time as we can institute election reforms, we have to learn to fight these ballot wars and win.

My personal pet peeve is ballots being sent to nursing homes and Memory Care Facilities, often without the knowledge of the resident’s family. This happened at the place where my mother lived for the last 5 years of her life, after being declared mentally incompetent by a neurologist. Even though I had a full power of attorney, the county would not let me cancel her voter registration. I had her mail sent to me though and destroyed her ballot every time it came, but I know many of them went straight to the facility. The head nurse openly laughed about how she “helped” people fill out their ballots and bragged that she had done it at every place she had ever worked!
Since I did not know whose ballots she was filling out, and I had no way to contact family members, there was no way I could report anything to the county election officials.
I believe in Wisconsin in 2020 there was a county that had 100% participation of every registered voter who lived in any type of assisted living facility…that seems totally legit, right? /sarc

I have probably had it three times, including the original Wuhan strain in December 2019 before it was ever a thing…it messed up my breathing and caused incredible fatigue for weeks, as well as messing up my red blood count on labs taken around that time. My husband, a retired Firefighter/EMT, said at the very beginning that putting people onto ventilators was the worst thing the hospitals could do because the symptoms were more like Carbon Monoxide poisoning and they should be putting people into hyperbaric chambers instead. Turns out he was absolutely correct! I eventually recovered from that bout but then picked up Delta in February 2021 – felt like a mild cold and only lasted a few days but I completely lost my sense of taste and smell for eight months! But again, I recovered fine other than that, which was scary and annoying but not life threatening.
However, I think I had Omicron this past spring – again, felt like a mild cold and I never took any tests but knew that it was going through our area right around the same time I was sick. But this time, I have STILL not recovered and am now dealing with serious cardiac/neurological issues and I know at least a dozen other people who are experiencing similar symptoms. Thankfully, I have a wonderful medical provider who warned me not to take the shot early on and who is on top of my case right now and up on all of the latest research and treatments. (Ironically, she has suggested that I might need either ozone therapy or a hyperbaric treatment to clear the spike from the virus out of my system once and for all.)

Technically I think you mean “rolcons” rather than “trolls” but thats a minor distinction.
And yes, rolcons TRY to sew discouragement, to divide US, to seperate off some of us from PDJT and MAGA, and to discourage action, and encourage inaction.
Thats nothing new here, its been going on since I came here in 2015-2016, and we can anticipate it will continue.

Republicans will need to refuse to appropriate any funding to Merrick Garland’s Special Counsel and defund any part of the DOJ acting on behalf of the Democrat party as a taxpayer funded campaign arm for the Democrat’s 2024 presidential nominee.
