Nerves are on edge as the police in/around Moscow, Idaho, admit today the person or persons who murdered four University of Idaho students is still unknown.
In the early morning hours of Sunday four students were stabbed to death in their off-campus residence. Media descriptions of the scene are gruesome in the extreme as blood was reported to be oozing from the floor and building.
The victims (pictured left) are Ethan Chapin, 20; Madison Mogen, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, who police say were attacked with an “edged weapon” likely a knife.
All four victims were killed by stabbing. There were two other people in the house who did not hear anything and are not suspects.
According to Fox news, Police have not recovered a weapon or publicly identified a suspect in the quadruple homicide, which has shaken the small town of 25,000 people. (more)

I’d like to leave these two titles here, for those who are enduring losses too great to bear or make sense of.
“A Grief Observed” by CS Lewis, who wrote it while working through his grief in losing his wife. A devout Christian, he couldn’t understand how his loving Father could allow this loss which affected him terribly. It is slim tome but shows there is a path from the devastating sorrow that overwhelms and from which there seems to be no escape.
The other is entitled “When Bad Things Happen to Good People”, written decades ago by conservative Rabbi Harold Kushner after the death of his beloved son.
I leave this information here in sincere hopes that those for whom tragedy has come may find some comfort in these beautifully human books, at whatever time those who grieve feel they may need to know they are not alone in their despair.

Another excellent book on the topic of suffering is called ‘If God is Good’ by Randy Alcorn. It’s long, but worth the read.
I’ve never understood bad things happening to good people but meanwhile horrible people are left to create misery on earth…such as Soros. I just can’t figure this out. I know someone who died and was sent back…he said he’d go back in a heartbeat and we have nothing to worry about because on the other side is overwhelming love. Maybe that is why?

I think the only thing which eventually would give me comfort would be knowing their beloved gifts from God are now in His arms in that place your friend wants to return to.
We are told by Christ of all that awaits. Of the love and joy, and of no more pain and tears. I pray with my whole heart that in their grief, these parents may fall back on these promises through the presence of the Holy Spirit, which is surely with them now.🙏
My grandmother once told me this-
“We were put on this earth to suffer”.
I did not understand what she meant by this but I came to realize that the only way
we could know and understand the state of love, happiness and contentment
is that we would have to experience suffering, pain and anguish.
Biblically, suffering, pain and anguish did not exist in the Garden of Eden and Adam and Eve had no knowledge of these states before they noshed on the apple from the Tree of Knowledge.
I don’t know if they could understand happiness if they didn’t experience sadness.

In answer to the question re the fbi, I’d lean towards the suspect(s) being illegals. My son a police Sargent in a different college town says illegals are flocking to those college towns.
The farm land is covered with snow for part of the year and the town itself doesn’t have much in the way for job opportunities. There are some fast food places, but it looked to me like the employees were university students.

It depends. If the victims were drugged first and then killed, it would have been quiet. A toxicology report would indicate any drugs, like fentanyl, or other substances in the body.
There could be other factors such as the layout of the residence, and so forth.
The 4 that were killed were on the 1st and 2nd floors of the building. The two girls who survived were on the 3rd floor.
The autopsy indicated that a knife like a Ka-Bar was used, a type of knife issued to members of the military. .

My heart aches for these four young people just starting their lives and planning their futures. As the grandmother of five with two of them away at college, it hits home.
It’s also my hometown with all the fond memories one can imagine. I still return there from time to time, the last being three years ago. It always appears to be a good place to have a peaceful life, so this truly shocks me.

This is unspeakably horrific. I don’t see how there was only one killer, given the details of the crime scene. I think the police know more than they are letting on.
In essence: we don’t know jack shit; so as a conceal carry state, lock and load, be vigilant and on guard.
Idaho is a heavily armed State. Moscow is as liberal as it gets, though.
Those associated with the University may be liberal. It used to be called “Berkeley of Idaho” but the farmers who are connected to Moscow, I’m betting, are not.
The farmers spend most of their time on farms. Trust me I know.

The food truck video clearly shows one white male shadowing the girls. Towards the video end another male comes from the right, off camera, and stands to the right of the white male. He may be standing the short line for the food truck. Or not.
Be sure there’s other CCTV in that area. Whether any have footage, we don’t know.
Far better vid here, and 10 minutes long. It shows the white male may not be shadowing the girls. He may’ve crossed the street with the girls as being with them. Or crossed the street not as part of their group of 2. See upper right corner of top screen, from 0:00 to 0:04.
From about 6:00 to vid end the white male freely talks and laughs with a heavyset male who was already on the sidewalk when the girls arrived. He doesn’t hide in the shadows. And he and the heavyset guy gesture to the girls once, and the girl in pink top gestures back.
When the girls leave the scene, he sort of shrugs his hands as if saying “Where’d they go?” Then he heads off in their direction.
Could he have involvement. Yes. Ted Bundy was a charmer. So was John Gacey. We don’t know. And if the kid doesn’t show up to answer questions, it doesn’t mean he did it. It might mean he knows he’ll be toast if he shows up.
How sad America has become.
A beautiful prayer for such a shocking senseless tragedy…they are in God’s comfort, the loss is massive. Praying for His comforting grace.

This is where my son intends to go in 2 years to follow in his Grandfathers footsteps. We toured the campus back in June and it is a beautiful small town. We even drove less than 2 blocks from the scene.

I don’t understand how four young people are stabbed to death and no one heard a thing. Really sick monsters out there. I pray for the families and friends of these four students.
Given the town in which this happened, I know the FBI is there to shape a political message that blames the most prominent church in town, regardless of who is actually to blame.

Calling this a stabbing is an understatement. TGP posted a video of a person of interest last night that was supposedly taken before the murders. It appears that the person was either following these kids since he was near one of the girls at the beginning of the clip, or perhaps he new them and was hanging out with them. The clip is short, and theres no interaction with the groups so its hard to tell one way or the other.

My granddaughter currently attends U of I in Moscow. I just spent the better part of an hour trying to calm her mother down. This is a fluid situation with little factual information available. Apparently, the cops are playing this very close to the vest (in spite of the local chief’s statements) I cannot speak to the competency of the local law enforcement, however, Idaho state police are very good at what they do and will not be letting Barney Fife run the investigation. I know my granddaughter is frightened especially because the college and her sorority will not allow the students to have any realistic means of protection. (I wonder if anyone makes a purse sized hornet and wasp spray) Hopefully, the cops will figure this out before the kids go back to class after Thanksgiving. I can’t imagine the pain the parents and families of those kids must be feeling, and I pray they find peace.
