Arkansas – U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, who has been considering a run for president in 2024, will not seek higher office in the next election cycle, according to reports on Sunday.
A source close to the senator confirmed to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on Sunday that the Dardanelle Republican will not run for president in 2024. Politico first broke the story.
A leading factor behind Cotton’s decision was his two sons, who are 5 and 7. Both were born after Cotton joined the Senate in January 2015. Cotton served in the House of Representatives for one term before defeating U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., in the 2014 election.

Regarding Cotton and the Consitution: Tom Cotton was THE ONLY Senator to vote for the Constitution and against the Corker Bill to allow the nuclear arms agreement with Iran in 2015. Obama wanted the “treaty” with Iran without having the 2/3rds vote so Corker concocted a bill to pass the “treaty” and then require a 2/3rds vote to remove it. The entire Senate voted 98-1, the exceptions being Cotton’s “Nay” and Boxer who was absent, to violate Article II, Section 2 of The Constitution, which gives to the Senate the sole power to approve, by a two-thirds vote, treaties negotiated by the Executive Branch. I’m not an Arkansan and don’t know much about Cotton, and while he may have his faults he was true to The Constitution when all of his peers (including Cruz, Rubio) were not.
It certainly made good optics. A better gauge might have been if his was the deciding vote.
True, perhaps, but that would have meant other GOP Senators having the guts to vote for the Constitution, which they took an oath to defend. Sadly, in the guts column and in the defend the Constitution column, only one was there — Cotton.

Someone please explain to me how Trump is going to be any different at getting any thing done to benefit the MAGA crowd or ideology while McConnel, Schumer and McCarthy, etc. and the uniparty crowd are in control of the House and Senate. If Trump could not get his people confirmed before, how will he do it again? Executive orders can only do so much and can be undone as we have seen.

Impeachment will still be on the table, and this time, they will vote to impeachment him. I don’t think he will get the nomination, and if he does, the uniparty will steal the election.

The rot you are speaking of is the culture. And I am not optimistic that you can change that w/o a bloody revolution. And that usually leads to a dictator making the changes. Am I giving up? Yes. I have done my part for over 60 years. I should have been dead from inoperable stage 4 cancer 3 years ago, but God answered my prayers. When you are staring death in the face, your priorities suddenly change. I will leave the long slog to those much younger than I.
My time on this earth is drawing to a close. What time I have left won’t be spent fighting for or against politicians of any party. It will be spent serving God. I need to be reminded of that every day. I have fought against the politicians in both parties all of my life. It is hard to break old habits. God needs my efforts to help save souls and spread his Gospel more than he needs me to tilt at political windmills.

The latest DeSantis political ad was full of hubris, suggesting he was sent by God to be a fighter. “DeSanctimonious” is spot on. While many pro-MAGA supporters of faith have expressed opinions in comments that President Trump may have been chosen by our heavenly Father because of the timing and against-the-odds outcome in 2016, NO ONE ever ran an advertisement for PDJT suggesting Divine direction.
It failed for one simple reason, and all you need to do is look at the 2020 DEM campaign, to see why.
2016, 16 candidates vs Trump, and not ONE would echo his fundamental campaign positions; build a wall, and f*ck China.
And thats why none could unseat him, or even seriously erode his support.
