Through the years one of the things CTH has always emphasized is the accuracy of your election ‘sense’ ground reports when contrast against the national media narrative.
So, this thread is for you to share what the sense is around your community. How motivated are the people in your neighborhood? What is the sense of this election cycle? If you have voted already, how was the turnout for early voting in/around your area?
Use this thread to share your own sense of how things look from your perspective. If comfortable include the general region you are describing so that others can get a feel for your impression of the midterm election this year.
CTH will host several election day update and ground reports tomorrow as election day voting gets underway. However, in the interim, what do you see and hear in the conversations around your town, hamlet, community or precinct?
Historically the sense of the election you share has been remarkably consistent with the outcome. Are the people in your circle enthusiastic about removing Democrats from their seats?

Well, we live in the redest of the red districts in Georgia, so there is that. However, in reviewing the ballot, I’m seriously considering voting for a Libertarian, rather than SOS Lyin’ Cheatin’ Crook Raffensberger (who should be in jail), along with his cohort AG Chris Carr….I’ll hold my nose and vote for Kemp (who is bought and paid for by CHYNA), another good ole boy whimpy crook but I am hopeful that MAGA Lt Gov Burt Jones will take the reins and handle him, and others, better than the previous LtGov.
I expect Herschel will win, along with Andrew Clyde.
Other than that, the ballot proposals are not radical, just common-sense measures.
Here’s hoping the Steal fails bigly this time around. We still have Kemp’s machines down here, we’ll see how well the ground game election integrity strategy is working.
Ditto here – Northeast GA mountains, in retired LEO/mikitary country. Most folks are to the right of Attila the Hun.
That said, early voting was “the busiest ever seen” according to two poll workers. We use Refuseberger’s Lyin’ Dominion machines here, and the votes are rumored to be tallied up in metro Atlanta, so what’ll happen is anyone’s guess.
We were successful in getting our local election commission to preserve the paper ballots, post-scan, for a minimum of one year after the election, as an audit trail. The fools shredded the 2019 ballots a couple weeks after that election, it seems.
Reffensburger is a RINO.
RINO is a DEMOCRAT
Democrat is a communist.
We can not vote our way out of communism, by voting for communists.
Go, Herschel!
Rottenburg is owned by Dominion
Dominion is owned by China
Rottenburg is owned by China
I’m in the same district and am sure the majority will vote the right way. Having said that, I am disturbed by the Warnock and Abrams signs I’ve seen, not a lot, but enough to be worrisome. Also, there is a huge billboard warning that if Republicans win they will steal your Medicare and Social Security. FJB.
Signs don’t vote.
So, ignore that stuff.
Most likely the majority are turned off by it and now remember who their neighbors truly are.
Suburban Denver – Very few political signs for Republicans compared to the amount of feeling out there against Democrats. You get people saying through clenched teeth “we’ve GOT to vote for Republicans” but the amount of R and D signs in my neighborhood might be about equal. I think that’s because the GOP did all kinds of things in the assembly and the primary to make sure the people on the ballot are RINOs, and most of the well-known America First candidates statewide are tied up in court cases, so people aren’t sure whether anyone on the ballot actually speaks for them.
Sounds like most people in my circles are planning to vote, but many of them don’t seem to know they even can vote in person, much less where to go to do so (even though I’ve been telling them all year!) Matthew 9:36 comes to mind, “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
But you could not convince me that any majority outside of downtown Denver, and probably not there, would actually re-elect Jared Polis as governor. It is a lie that Colorado is a blue state. If I’m wrong, then prove otherwise in a free, fair, completely auditable (i.e. no voting machines) election!
I forgot to mention that according to our county clerk’s Voter Statistics page, we had 7461 ballots mailed to 16 and 17-year-olds (they are listed as active voters!) We also supposedly have 152 centenarians in the county, of whom 4 don’t know their gender. The oldest registered voter is 116, but last spring the oldest voter was 114, and there are no other voters listed over the age of 110. (There is supposedly one 110-year-old Democrat, one 110-year-old Independent, and one 116-year-old Republican.)
Oh, and last spring there were several hundred 14-year-old registered voters, until I mentioned that at a school board meeting, and then suddenly there were no 14-year-olds but more 16-year-olds.
Hard to be hopeful about fair elections when your county clerk is trolling the public with these voter statistics.
Your county clerk is probably held in high esteem by your secretary of state.
Oh, I think Jared Polis will be re-elected right along with Congressman Joe Neguse. For sure, Boulder will provide a blue wave.
I actually don’t believe that even in Boulder there is a majority who think the state is going in the right direction.
I sincerely hope you are right.
At the same time, my impression is that inside the Boulder bubble, people might not be happy with the way things are going but would rather make excuses for their blue politicians than even consider voting for a Republican.
Maybe they’ll choose not to vote this time.
Here in Nevada we have 3 ballot questions to amend our Constitution. All of them are left wing garbage.
#1. Amend the Constitution for protections for (printed in this order): race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age disability, ancestry, or national origin.
Do you see how they snuck that into the middle of what is already prohibited?
#2 Amend the Constitution to raise the minimum wage to $12 per hour.
Our legislature has the power to raise minimum wage. They want to put it into our Constitution.
#3 Amend the Constitution to allow OPEN PRIMARIES and RANK CHOICE for State offices.
Just awful. We have turned blue. My prediction is that these will all pass unless the dem voters stay home.
So 25 years from now when I retire and move to Nevada I can work for $12/hr. Hot dang!
😉
Rank Choice Voting is a scam and license to cheat. Once it is in place the Democrats use it to cheat incessantly. Look what it has done to Maine and every other state they implemented it. The rules can be changed on the fly and noone can prove that the outcome didnt match the gross generalities in the law.
Since you asked, yes, there is some odd things on the ballot on my general area. In a district in which my buddy lives the candidate for the ‘Soil and Water District Commission’ is a guy named Mike Stewart. He is the only one running. In his linkedin profile, he mentioned that he took a class given by the Climate Reality Project. The link is provided below:
https://www.climaterealityproject.org/
This organization is started by Al Gore. Take a look at it. Stewart is running for an elected position and is the Director/Chair position of the commission. The appointed, that is, unelected, Vice Chair is man named Dr. Robert Hanley. His day job is as a consultant for TRC Companies. The link to TRC Companies is given below:
https://www.trccompanies.com/
You decide if these concerns are warranted. My buddy cannot vote against Stewart since he is running unopposed.
The next strange candidate is running in School Board District 18 Greenville County. The two candidates are Pat Sudduth and Anne Marie Middleton. Anne Marie Middleton website is given below:
https://annmarie4schoolboard.com/
The relevant part is in the ‘about me’ section. Her experience includes being an FBI Special Agent and Supervisor. After what has happened with Garland and CRT in schools, targeting parents for voicing concerns at school boards, etc., my buddy is definitely not voting for her. Pat Sudduth is the safe choice.
Now, we will admit that our concerns could be motivated by sheer paranoia. But, we are voting for safe candidates. And, these two candidates are suggesting to us the idea that the left are becoming more stealthy in pushing their radical agenda upon us. Again, we could be freaking out over nothing.
FIB special agent, school board. Paranoia, no that’s logical fear and concern.
These days, paranioa is necessary logical thinking.
Survival instinct.
No, you are right. They are getting in at lowest level and sometimes unopposed. Like we have been suggested to get in on the ground level of GOP at the county level. I bet Mike Stewart and handlers were counting the minutes and seconds to the filing deadline hoping noone would get in. I bet cheering when the deadline passed.
Your right to be concerned
I live in Massachusetts, so the outcome was decided in the primary. Nonetheless, I’ve seen far fewer signs than normal, except for school boards, where there are loud signs for “no CRT or drag queens” candidates in most towns.
I went to the last day of early voting in my town on Friday, no one was there at 0815.
That’s funny. There are quite a few signs in my area.
I worked the local polling place here in Honolulu . In my shift only 25 or so voters. Low turnout .Really sad. There is literally no hope for R candidates in this State.
Are States like Massachusettes and Hawaii REALLY “Solidly Blue”, or is the State Republican Party controlled by RINOS, i.e. Democrats that intentionally drifted the State to Blue, by putting up weak “Republican” candidates, so that over time Republican voters feel like “whats the use”?
The ONLY way to know, is to become a precinct captain for your local party, supervise a team of MAGA volonteers to generate an army to attend your local monthly R party, and vote the conmunists out.
Or, you can just sit back and say “its hopeless, theres nothing we can do!”
Our Massachusetts state house is 127/25 with 1 unenrolled, which is our word for independent. Our state senate is 36/3. Our “Republican” governor lies far to the left of Mitt Romney, and he’ll be a lame duck after tomorrow. In the US Congress, it’s 9/0 plus Senators Markey and Warren. Boston city council is 110% dems.
Except a few rural places in the far west, like Berkshire County, no one but a democrat has any chance at a statewide office. We do have open primaries, so you can vote for the lesser of two evils then.
They are all blue BECAUSE you have open primaries
Texas has open primaries.
I’ve started getting involved locally. Haven’t done it for long, but I am already meeting people determined to change all that.
Many of them are youngish compared to me, and they’ve have turned up since the Xiden Regime started breaking the country.
And they aren’t fooling around. They mean to fix the problem.
Maybe not this round, this week – but I believe blueMA is getting ready to step on the Put America First train too.
HI is very blue and very dependent on the govt handouts
Close to Amish Country here in OH. Live in a red county. Not a lot of political signs out in my neck of woods. Which I am a bit surprised by. I suspect people are afraid of being a target of loony snowflakes.
I have a loony neighbor down the road from me with signs on their fence. Tim Ryan (puke) women’s rights (puke) workers rights (puke). I feel like plowing my car right thru their fence and signs every time I pass. At our house, we have a Let’s Go Brandon flag on our pole. I hope the snowflake down the road chokes on FJB Tues night!
LGB!!!
Well, here in Jim Jordan territory, it’s pretty obvious which way the wind blows here. We’ve got Trump flags flying high and wide. There’s even a giant Joe Biden SUCKS porch banner near the town square. Entering the county there’s a homemade sign which is quite demonstrably anti-fascist. Lots of Amish but they don’t vote. They’re good for learning from and getting herbs for remedies.
Hard to vote for lockdown DeWine. Although he did sign the heart beat bill and the concealed carry authorization (not that I needed it); but I don’t trust the Weasel. All in all I’m positive not much will change. Still gotta get rid of Sherrod Brown but he’s in til 24.
I hear you. Hold the nose for DeWine.
Slimmy Sherrod definitely needs pink slipped next election.
I like your town, I would be right at home there too! #FJB
I have no idea what’s going on in Oregon. I live in a red rural area with lots of Trump signage around. Being that I don’t have cable, can’t pick up much for antenna TV (I don’t watch it anyways) and I can’t stand listening to the radio, I have never been this tuned out from MSM, it’s nice.
The only exposure I have to the democrats campaign adds is when I go on youtube. All the interruptions are from the leftist politicians telling me how the republican candidate for governor is MAGA, an election denier, anti-abortion, wants to restrict educators and healthcare professionals. For all the other offices, it’s the same cookie cutter democrat talking points. They are great political adds for the republicans.
Next to having Liz Chaney campaign for your Dem opponent, the best thing for any MAGA Candidate, is having their Dem opponent hammer the airwaves 24/7 with ads, SAYING “My opponent is MAGA!” and even highlighting the MAGA talking points.
How frustrating for the Dems,…lol.
I have heard voting in Portland is down eleven percent compared with other years. So hopefully the democrats stay home.
nobody likes crime and burning sheet down.
Oregonians remember the Antifa assaults on our state and federal properties.
So, maybe they aren’t gonna vote FOR reps, but just stay home.
I don’t expect Salem to change, much less Portland.
Im in a red part of Oregon, so I know what’s gonna happen in my district.
The rest of the crazy I-5 corridor should stay blue.
Sucks.
Southern Oregon Rogue Valley here.
Its red, and my exposure is online.
Massive Dem push for the run up, the gov race is big here.
Tina Kotex, the Dem, has blurred the lines with her(its) message.
The last message I saw was Kotex saying we need to “clean up the trash”
in regards to the homeless situation.
Thats crossing the lines, imo.
Dems don’t call homeless trash.
I take that as a good sign, but I still expect it to win over (R) Drazen
Northern Utah Republican strong holds still standing. SLC still full of leftwing nut jobs.
Not so much here in SW Utah where it’s more conservative except for the college crowd.
If observing ballot drop boxes, be smart and think what the enemy will try. An absolutely spotless car. Nothing in trunk or glove box. Even remove the tire repair stuff. Tire tool……”he had a weapon”. Not even a gum wrapper in the car. Park car a bit more than the legal distance from box. Drinks? Take plain bottled water. No color. Obviously no adult beverages. I would say leave primary phone at home. Dress very conservatively. Khaki slacks. Nice shirt. Heck, will probably be IDd as FIB. They will claim all sorts of stuff, but remember J6. No flags, posters, bumper stickers, anything. Be smart.
Cape Coral, FL here. Had lunch on Saturday with 7 friends, every person at the table voting straight R ticket. Very determined to send a message to current Dem’s in office, including the resident on Pennsylvania Ave.
While monitoring the vote we will be monitoring the weather:
https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at2+shtml/205939.shtml?key_messages#contents
Rest Sundance.
Surprisingly, Ron (The Mortician who lives in New York) Wyden has been running numerous attack ads against his way underfunded and nearly silent opponent, Jo Rae Perkins here in Oregon. He must be nervous that the red tsunami which might only be a wave here will still possibly sweep his sorry self away. Beyond that we might actually have an R as Governor. That’s something to look forward to. Still, with a solid blue legislature thanks to a heavy-handed judicial override of what had been a balanced redistricting plan in the 90’s, I fear stalemate will be the order of things.
Stalemate could mean a delay in further destruction?
I am in Democrat El Paso, Texas. 75,000 early and mail in voting for this midterm. 130,000 early voters and mail in for 2018. I think that is a surprise because this is the home of Beto. My husband voted on Thursday and had to wait in a line but not extremely long, since many were wearing masks he thinks they were Democrat. I will be voting in the morning, I will give my opinion on the line. Now that I think about it, Beto was running in 2018 for the senate.
Beto is running of offices to lose! He can run for office and campaign all his life since his father in law is a billionaire!
Maybe it is his hobby! As long as he doesn’t win I am good with it!
I heard Lt. Gov Dan Patrick (at the Texas Trump Rally) say that Texas has a 3 times (3 losses) and you’re out—cannot run again.
Dan Patrick must have been speaking about general practice, not election law.
https://texas.public.law/statutes/tex._election_code_section_141.001
My immediate thought was that surely Kinky Friedman must have run more than three times. Nope, only twice.
Here’s what the Daily Mail has to say:
Will the DOJ now go in to state courts to stop vote counts? Will they seize polling stations? Will they get court orders to insert third parties to count votes?
The Department of Justice announced on Monday that it will monitor polls in select municipalities across 24 states during the 2022 midterm elections to ensure compliance with federal voting laws.
https://justthenews.com/government/federal-agencies/doj-will-monitor-polls-24-states-ensure-voting-law-compliance?utm_source=sf&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=twjs
NE Washington here. Everyone is planning on dropping their straight Republican ballots in the public library drop boxes tomorrow afternoon. That holding the ballots until election day, beat the vote by fraud for Joe Kent in his primary House race. Doing this should force the Dimwaste vote fixing to have to go into overdrive to steal the close races.
The Seattle Slime’s is in a panic about low ballot turnout for mid terms. Kinda funny. Our household is waiting for tomorrow, to drop off our ballots at the local election center.
Same here
isn’t Spokane reliably conservative anyway….right across from ID and all, they lean far more right than their leftist cousins on Puget Sound
Yes, Spokane and most all of Eastern Washington is deep red. Ironically, although it was corrected, when the primary results from Spokane County were 1st reported, the Smile/Murray numbers were inverted showing Murray with 75% of the vote. The actual count was just the opposite
I’ve been getting text messages from Herschel Walker, Ron DeSantis (because I once lived in Florida) and ironically, the Florida Democrat (aka Baby Killer) Party….in fact, the missus and I got one at the same time this past weekend. It was funny.
In Central Georgia, I’d love to see Mr. Regular Guy Sanford Bishop get shellacked. Mr. RG has been terrorising the poor people in GA-02 since 1993. Bout time for him to head to the house…
YES! I am in Southwest GA. Sanford Bishop needs to be voted out. I just do not understand why he keeps getting voted in. You never hear from him until election time and for some reason I think I have heard more advertising from him this year than any other election year.
South east Michigan is quiet. I have seen very few Whitmer signs, have seen many more Dixon signs.
There are three very important proposals we are voting on.
Our AG and SOS candidates are also extremely vital for Republicans to win. They have been threatened by D Nessal. She threatens all Republicans and priests.
Detroit is quiet. I get the feeling the folks don’t want to vote Democrat. I am from Detroit. The government is owned by the fascio communists who are killers to those who challenge elections ie) Rashida Talib did not win in either 2018 or 2020 I suspect.
Folks were pounded into submission for the last almost three years!!! it is sad. But the folks have gotten to like Dixon ever since Trump had a rally October 1st. She came out swinging and hasn’t stopped. Her “punches” have hit all the marks.
I believe that we have the support of many sheriffs for fighting voter fraud. I know many have endorsed TD.
We shall see very soon…
are you in the orphan land…..there is an area of land that neither OH nor MI wanted for a while between them……would seem to be fairly reliable in that area just E of N IN which is very conservative
BORDER was Disputed – AND YES the IRISH HILLS AREA Is RED vs the Ann Arbor Area.
My Hometown in Berrien County has be redistricted in with the Area Along the Michigan / Indiana Stateline. I CALL it the FARMER BELT.
Congressional District 5
Mid Atlantic rural coastal region. There’s a determined desperation to remove Democrats from their seats and elect Republicans among my friends, neighbors and working people that I have talked to.
BUT….there is a very active black community, organized around the black churches who are working to get out their vote, preaching about the election and doing everything to bring every person to the polls. Ran into one black retired professional recently who said that Biden was the best president ever in the history of this nation, having to deal with the abomination of the Trump years….said with convincing feeling and a few choice words – and that person knows I am a Republican. Those churches are working hard to elect radical left wing Democrats to the Senate and to state legislatures.
So, there is tension in the air, fear on both sides about the election outcome.
According to two people who voted early, the turnout was light at the time they went – no waiting.
The lady helping me with the machine told me to vote a certain way. I reported the incident but I’m sure nothing will happen.
Also did you see the news articles going around saying hackers are going to spoil the election?
Yeah, 2020 was the most secure election evvverrr and no hacking or cheating was possible and nothing was connected to the internet. Now, with a possible Red Wave, things are not so secure. Go figure.
Totally not the dems using it as cover to recount ballots and oh, suddenly they all win!
I hope this is the last straw on our end.
A Lot of Zeldin signs everywhere I go in NY( not the city as that’s not even an option during these times), but not one Hochul sign anywhere. Even a casual conversation at the supermarket by the fruits and veggies turned into a vote for Zeldin free for all. It was great. Nobody can see him losing fairly.
A friend runs an early voting site and on the first day had a line around the building. He never saw anything like it before , over 800 votes cast that day. He said was 99% Zeldin. A few people tried to vote without the required paperwork and they were sent on their way.
“Losing fairly”. You nailed it there, Buddyroe.
Big day here tomorrow in PA. Fetterman’s campaign is stating today that the results may not be known for days. Anyone with a brain knows the score here. Over 300 million power ball tickets sold in a day and they know in two hours how many winners there are and where they played their ticket at. And we can’t do that here? Shapiro and Fetterman will steal both of these elections and nothing will be done about it. Have we had enough yet?
Yep, I am afraid PA is going to cheat, as is Nevada (Vegas), AZ(Maricopa) Georgia, and Michigan. They are not going to give up control of the Senate.
Yes I fear you are right. I expect they will learn from last time and it will not be a hockey stick at the end. Instead the illegal votes will be spread more uniformly.
Who appoints Senators to serve out the terms of those who die in office?
I live in Virginia’s 10th and I feel like Hung Cao is going to unseat Wexton. The 10th represents a lot of Loudoun County and we are on a roll. We’ll pray for the Glory of God to compel people to get out and vote. It’s far past time for Christians to wake up and take our country back
Cao’s signs were everywhere!
In Virginia’s 7th that Pelosi clone Spanberger will probably steal it again like she did last time with a mislabeled magical flash drive that appeared the next day after she was losing.
I am praying for a miracle that Yesli Vega, a real America First fighter will fight to the finish if its a tight race.
Spanberger is evil.
I live in Massachusetts so it’s a feeling of helplessness every election, but I was in New Hampshire last weekend and I saw a ton of signs for Don Bolduc.
Also in blueMA northwest of Boston – we’ve been doing sign standouts, and the ratio of honks and thumbs up and smiles and happy yells seems to me kind of similar to what I saw when holding signs for Scott Brown years ago.
Maybe even a better ratio.
So far in the county where I live, the elections office has reported that we have had a 31% voter turnout. That would be 30.3% who voted early in person and 0.3% who voted using absentee ballot by mail.
Here is the information as of close of business Friday, Nov 4th for the State of Texas overall and by county.
https://earlyvoting.texas-election.com/Elections/getEVDetails.do
In a union ‘hood in a region an hour south of Chicago…not nearly as many lawn signs as in the past.
Your guess is as good as mine.
Lots of signs outside polling places, way lots of ’em…just over ‘the electioneering’ boundary on the polling place properties.
Reporting in from the NY City suburbs, Northern Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess counties, I am feeling that Lee Zeldin and the Repubs have a fighting chance. I have been active in the campaign for the past several months and have never seen such enthusiasm.
Practically no Hochul or Dem signs but tons of Zeldin, Lawler signs all over the districts. People glad to talk when I handed out campaign literature, cards, etc. Everyone is fed up.
Crime is not the biggest issue in the NY suburbs- it’s the cost of ENERGY. This is one thing that everyone can get behind- heating oil is almost $6.00 a gallon the highest price in history. Last year it was under $3.00 and that was double the lowest it was under President Trump.
My only complaint about the Repubs is that they did not stress this more, but I do understand that Zeldin needs at least 30% of NYC votes to win so he had to talk about crime.
Many people feel the way I do- if the Dems get back in, we may have no choice but to move to someplace warmer and cheaper. We will not be able to heat our homes or afford electricity or groceries.
Pray for New York!
Win or lose, thank you for going to work on LZ’s campaign team.
don’t NYC voters have to rely on the W NJ and N PA voters as well…….you know there are tons of voter fraud incidents there of people living or knowing people who do live there and working in the city
I am in Delaware. It is quiet where I live. I do not see many political signs. There are some, most are for the republicans running against the incumbents. My neighbors are quiet. I have not talked politics with any of them.
We had some of the candidates scouring my neighborhood yesterday. I was in my craft room painting some wooden snowmen. My husband was taking to the Republican running for our district rep. I could hear some of what they were talking about. When I heard the words Fascist, Nazi, Transgender I came out of the room with a paintbrush and a wooden snowman. I went to the door where the two were talking and said to candidate “this is how this horrible fascist nazi insurrectionist Donald Trump voter spends her spare time. I held up my paint brush and said this is my gun. I held up my wooden snowman and said this is my protest sign. I made him laugh and went back to my craft room. After my husband was finished talking with him, he came back to my craft room and told me that Mr. P said I made his day.
If it weren’t for the humor here, I don’t think I would be able to survive.
Well then, I recommend watching the Intellectual Froglegs that was just posted on CTH yesterday – maybe twice!
I live in Northern Delaware. Lots of signs, mostly for Republicans, on my route to work. Delaware is solidly blue so I have no hope of any Republicans being elected even though the Republicans have some really good candidates running statewide this time. I’ll vote solid red (as usual) tomorrow, in person.
By the way, I have known Biden for years and he is just a sleaze. I swear I could feel the evil emanating from him.
Here in western WI (WI-3rd) the congressional seat is a coin-toss. In my county, Van Orden is the favorite by a massive amount. (In 2016 the only Clinton sign was “Hillary for Prison”.) However, that doesn’t play the same in cities where there is a UW campus, which is the Democrats’ design of the district, they being the ones who complain the loudest about gerrymandering. It’s an octopus, covering vast swaths of small-towns/rural country, but with tentacle tips just touching multiple cities with a university campus (and the demographic that goes with it).
Also, Van Orden continued doing something I cautioned him about last time he made an attempt. He puts too much stock up front in his messaging about his 26 years of military service, most as a SEAL (“oooh-ahhh”). This is highly respected in these parts HOWEVER he doesn’t spend much time following up with specific messaging about his approach to the problems. Thus, he’s vulnerable to the little professional political putz, Brad Pfaff. Although, one of his commercials as he pumps gas into his Harley resonates well as he (finally) makes an ad that lists the things wrong with the Pudd’nhead regime.
So the individual counties are one thing, a congressional district taken overall is a different matter & that can swing it one way or the other. Welcome to Wisconsin.
For Senate, Ron Johnson is heavily favored in my county but, as with many other races, there are always the metro-cesspools of Milwaukee proper & Madison to take into account. In fact, for a liberty-loving person travel to Madison is like crossing through Checkpoint Charlie into East Berlin (which I’ve done). They are some True Believers™ down there.
For the Governor’s race, another total toss-up, and this is where the Dobbs decision really plays. Incumbent Evers, a failure at nearly every level of his professional life, may have an edge over Tim Michels the challenging private-sector business owner due to that. One of the failures of Michels’ campaign is that they haven’t taken advantage of a faux pas by Evers over abortion. When Dobbs dropped, Wisconsin’s ridiculous 1849 law became effective. The bi-cameral Repub legislature didn’t waste much time, knowing they sincerely needed to act, and came back into session & quickly crafted a law that would insert exceptions for rape, incest, and threatening the health of the mother. Evers veto’d like the big baby he is, stating that he wouldn’t sign anything unless it was all or nothing – “all” being a full piece of legislation with almost zero restrictions.
In my view it was a missed opportunity for Michels not to have taken that and pointed out “See? we tried to take some steps right away to begin fixing this antiquated law, but the Governor refused.” Personally I think they were asleep at the switch in that regard and it may bite Michels.
People typically don’t give much thought to the AG, but replacing the existing one (Kaul) with the Repub Toney would be good because Kaul is objectively worthless in terms of advocating outside the state or joining lawsuits on issues that would benefit any Wisconsin citizen.
There are a couple of local races that will send incumbents back to the State legislature and, an acquaintance heavily embedded in the local GOP operation thinks that, statewide, there’s a chance that the Assembly & Senate could end up with super-majorities, which would be critical if The Worst Governor Evers remains in office.
No distracting referenda currently in my county. Just people; and that’s enough perfidy to go around.
Popcorn, like ammo, is at good stockage level.
I ordered an absentee ballot in my state (in the Northeast US) – the ballot was never sent out and disappeared from the online system – I assume because I am registered as a Republican.
To vote tomorrow, I will now have to travel 90 minutes each way to where I am registered.
Do it! And check your ballot carefully. We had a case (saw picture on FB) where a person voted R up and down and the ballot receipt showed they had voted for Beto. There was another candidate that was also flipped to D…so be careful.
They don’t provide receipts in NYC!
May it be an easy and safe trip for you! Every vote is so important.
I still have siblings in Pennsylvania and asked them what they think about Fetterman’s capabilities to do the job. My brother said “All in for Fetterman”, my sister said “We vote blue up here”. It’s hard to believe they vote for candidates just because they have a “D” after their name. They don’t think for themselves.
Not in the reddest part of PA, but right next to it. People are quietly determined, but apprehensive about Philly shenaniganizing. The good news is I think they would need a level of cheating that would be virtually impossible to hide, and Mastriano will not have it. We really hope that Mastriano has the lawyers up on the runway and ready to launch.
LOL….maybe Dysktra can change enough votes in Philly…..laying the loss on Dr. Jill and her coming to game 4 at a bad time…..I hear Philly fans are the most superstitious
The biggest change I’ve seen this year over prior years is the nearly complete absence of yard signs. The usual bandit signs litter the intersections, but around my neighborhood, you wouldn’t know there was an election coming up. Interpretation: people are afraid to express their political views out of fear of being labeled a “terrorist”.
In Colorado we have noncompetitive races for Senate and Governor so I think people have checked-out for the most part.
RCP moved the Senate race to “toss up”, but Colorado is comfortably blue thanks to mail-in voting and CA refugees. O’Dea decloaked as a NeverTrumper which gives MAGA voters a very compelling reason to re-elect Bennett since the Senate is likely going GOP anyway. There is such as thing as strategically losing to rid your party of the corrupt people within it.
I plan to cast a write-in vote for Senate. Not sure who yet.
If O’Dea gets elected, MAGA loses. He needs to be strategically defeated to rob McConnell of a vote for Majority Leader.
What this post did for me. I was so wrapped up in candidates I hadn’t even given a thought to propositions. Not a thought! There’s been no talk about them – that I’m aware of. I’m in frickin’ blue Harris county(Hoston) Texas. We’ll see how that plays out tomorrow. But I checked “what’s on the ballot” for Harris county. Turns out there’s 3 propositions.
HC PROPOSITION A – PUBLIC SAFETY
THE ISSUANCE OF $100,000,000 OF PUBLIC SAFETY BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING, IMPROVING, RENOVATING, EQUIPPING AND ACQUIRING LAND AND INTEREST IN LAND, BUILDINGS, FACILTIES, COURTHOUSES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR PUBLIC SAFETY PURPOSES AND THE IMPOSITION OF TAXES SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON THE BONDS.
HC PROPOSITION B – TRANSPORTATION
THE ISSUANCE OF $900,000,000 OF ROAD BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, OPERATION, AND ROAD DRAINAGE OF MACADAMIZED, GRAVELED OR PAVED ROADS, OR IN AID THEREOF, INCLUDING ACQUIRING LAND AND RIGHTS-OF-WAY THEREFOR, BIKE LANES, SIDEWALKS AND SHARED USE PATHS, AND REPLACEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF ROAD BRIDGES AND CULVERTS, AND THE IMPOSITION OF TAXES SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON THE B
HC PROPOSITION C – PARKS & TRAILS
THE ISSUANCE OF $200,000,000 OF PARK BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING, IMPROVING, RENOVATING, EQUIPPING AND ACQUIRING LAND AND INTEREST IN LAND, BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES FOR COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES AND THE IMPOSITION OF TAXES SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON THE BONDS.
1.2 BILLION tax payers dollars. No where does it say how the money will actually be spent. Just kinna sorta general ideas. Of course there still 192M unallocated from the 2015 bond proposition(s).
There will be at least one ‘NO’ vote for each proposition recorded when the votes are counted.
Central Oregon Coast. We put our ballots in the box today as we had to make the trip to town. One car ahead of us at drop box. No in person voting allowed in Oregon. Mail only or drop box. County clerk reports fewer ballots than usual espeically unaffilliated. We changed from R to unaffiliated after 2020 steal because we feel Republicans here in Oregon are and will be targeted for bad stuff.
We really like Betsy Johnson even though she was a democrat and is now unaffiliated. We really wanted to vote for her but polls show she hasn’t a chance. Drazan seems to have a chance so after much discussion we voted for her.
Few signs for anyone but McIntee for whatever. and Alek to take Coowboy Kurt’s seat in the House.
We voted for the health care initiative only because it takes money from the schools, teachers union and all the illegal kids being “educated.” voted against the take away guns and will move out of the failed state of Oregon if gun laws get worse.
Betsy is a splitter.
Good for you not voting for her.
Also agree with your votes on guns, medical.
From what I know about the medical bill,
It moves more money to undercut state means tests for assisted medical needs.
We are an older population state, and poorer than most.
I think our Oregonian seniors deserve more.
In NC voter ID has been passed twice and overturned in the courts each time. It is my understanding that during early voting (which ended Saturday in NC) a person can go up to the pol table, register to vote and then vote. All the person has to do is give their address….no other verification needed. College students only have to name the dorm they live in. Colleges are using buses to take students to the polls for early voting. If my info is correct it does not bode well for red wave. Trying to stay optimistic!
Every state and every voter deserves voter ID.
2020 STEAL they had “students” in vacant dorms from schools in shutdown voting in elections
I’m in eastern NC. Most people here were conservative. This year, we have had an tremendous influx of people moving here from the north. I have no idea what it has done to this area. No signs in my area but my neighbors are all conservative so we’ll just have to wait to see what happens tomorrow.
Oregon-Fifty mile drive last week from rural west of Corvallis to Salem/Keizer area. Along the highways there are a couple dozen Drazan signs, one Johnson (I) and no Kotek (satan’s own communist) signs. I’m sure there are plenty in liberal Corvallis. Lots of democrat down ballot signs along the roads so hopefully they just don’t like Kotek. Plenty of ads on You tube for dems all aimed at women. Kotek and others playing the fear game. Somebody dumped a ton of money on those ads- think they are worried. Polls keep switching as to whether Drazan or Kotek are up by one point. A DC friend says all polling depresses R numbers by 6%. Pollsters are afraid to inflate D numbers by more than six because the handwriting is on the wall. We’ll know in a day or two.
Poll challenger files police report in Dearborn, MI today (denied access)
Actually Massachusetts is too far gone. The system is so corrupt and the union here have become pilot fish eating the scraps the Democrat whale doesn’t devour while their families are destroyed, their children’s futures darkened and their wages held down by illegal immigrants. It’s sad to see but they will pay the ultimate price for their stupidity in the end.
Being in the NH media market gives me a good view of the races there, especially Bolduc. The GOP and PACs had pretty much ignored Gen Bolduc and despite the lack of money (advertising) and help, people saw Hassan for what she is. Her own ads made the case against her by claiming she was Independent and bipartisan. Now, finally, in the closing hours, some great ads on Bolduc’s side have begun running and they are devestating for Hassan because the point out the truth about who she is. Fake polls have them neck-and-neck which means Bolduc is probably well ahead. The big problem with NH is they have same day registration and no residency minimum so for years it’s been alleged Dems from MA have been busing people to NH to vote Dem using hotels for the address. Hopefully this year the motivation to go along with it is greatly reduced.
https://www.stopworldcontrol.com/cry-freedom This link will take you to a new documentary—includes Trump. He impressed me so much T his talk at the UN. I never forgot it! You might want to watch it. Talks about 2020 election.
WA state about 35 miles north of downtown Seattle. A ton of signs for Tiffany Smiley, have not seen a single one for Patty Murray. If the Smiley signs are indicative of how people will really vote, well … I’m hopeful that Murray gets ousted.
There is always hope 🇺🇸🙏
Bellingham/Edmunds area……..must be getting hard up that way after Boeing moved jobs out and slowdowns after 737 fiasco
Unless the usual King County more votes for Murray than registered voters happens, it would appear there’s a good chance Smiley can win.
Cincinnati OH: due to our schools being overrun with free-range children and social services being overrun by their parents (both due to our lack of a border), there are several levies on the ballot that, cumulatively, will significantly raise property taxes. Which will hurt renters as well as property owners.
The Rs look safe here statewide, but not so much locally (especially the judges and county commissioner).
My protest vote will be to not participate in the governor race. DeWine did unforgivable damage to Ohioans during the scamdemic.
Sundance, we thank you for this type of post. Similar to the “Treehouse Tips” post earlier this fall, this gets us the temperature of the room all across the fruited plain, as seen from ground level, with no MSM “interpreters” or “clarifiers” spinning the view.
The best from The Best … again.
In Washington state – we wrote in Brad Klippert , the gop candidate running against 2 democrats for SOS.
Say no to rank choice voting!
Me, too:) I triple-checked spelling so they wouldn’t find a reason to toss my ballot.
A smart door to door packet delivered with names and photo of conservative candidates: gov, rep,ag, county board, in Il.
“I will be your voice.” President Donald J. Trump
You are truly loved.
And judges too
South central Michigan here. Joe is doing a bang up job! Gas prices up 35 cents last two days.
FJB
Rural (red) Virginia here but getting a large influx of libs from the swamp. The Republican committees here are a bunch of thugs and harass/chase out anyone trying to run against those in their club. Several have quit the committee after calling them out and started grassroots, but not very effectively. Our area will still go red this time but worried that within 2 years it will be 50/50 because the DCers are the only ones with money to buy property out here. For now, there’s very few blue signs and lots of patriotism on display from yards to trucks. They’re out there though- just hiding because they know they’re outnumbered for the time being.
Hi, not sure where exactly you are–that said we are native Virginians that still have a home there that we visit regularly. I do know some Republican committee folks who are sound and well aware of any RINO tendencies.
Stay strong and keep fighting! God bless.
SEPA Suburban Philadelphia (Montco/Bucks) quite a few Shapiro (Gov) and Fetterman signs, less but still quite a few Mastriano and Oz signs. Definitely worried about the steal in Philly, but hoping $4 plus gas again, wakes people up…
My brother lives on the South Texas border county of Starr. The corruption and election fraud is so rampant the SOS and AG officials have already been called in as of the first day of early voting. The local politics at its worst! Media is involved and working on the story as we speak. The story is so convoluted and incestuous, going back for decades I wouldn’t be able to speak on it but all is being revealed quickly. Hoping for the best for Starr county!
“incestuous” is an excellent word to describe this hell of a mess.
incestuous Democrats!
Starr and Duval county, historically two of the most corrupt counties in the country. Duval is where LBJ found another box of votes in his first Senate campaign. Got his first win and his career was launched. Now Harris, Travis (Austin), Dallas, etc. are pushing to be the most corrupt. Fortunately, our AG took legal action 2 years ago when Harris county tried to violate Texas law and expand mail in voting and uncontrolled ballot drops. Optimistic that we maintain our statewide ban on Democrats.
My sister married a Duval Cty big wig’s son back in the late 70s. The stories circulating back then were crazy by 70s standards. Today people would hardly take notice.
