According to a released article in Time Magazine, Twitter employees have drafted a letter containing several ‘demands.’ In addition to demanding they are not fired, they demand assurances against discrimination for their political beliefs.
(TIME) […] TIME reviewed a draft of the open letter circulating among Twitter employees on Monday. “Elon Musk’s plan to lay off 75% of Twitter workers will hurt Twitter’s ability to serve the public conversation,” said the draft of the letter, which has not yet been published. “A threat of this magnitude is reckless, undermines our users’ and customers’ trust in our platform, and is a transparent act of worker intimidation.”
The letter demands that Musk commits to preserving Twitter’s current headcount if his takeover of the company goes through. It also demands he does not discriminate against employees based on their political beliefs and that he commits to “fair” severance policies and more communication about working conditions. “We demand to be treated with dignity, and to not be treated as mere pawns in a game played by billionaires,” the list of demands says. Next stop, Sugarberg’s Flakebook on the chopping block
These folks at Twitter have no clue what’s coming their way.
Elon has a work ethic like no orher
You are so right Elon Absolutely demands employees work as hard as him, from all his companies. Remember the veritas undercover videos on Twitter, where some engineers work 3 hours or less a week, and sometimes they take weeks off for no reason. Twitter’s current policies are going to be demolished, and guess what it’s the law. Musk would be very smart to move Twitter out of CA, especially San Fran. It would be like Newsome to start harassing the company.
As far as a concern about about “political discrimination”, they should just follow the Hatch Act for government employees. “No political activity of any kind during work hours. After hours is when you can play politics”.
In any other acquisition, the employees from the company being acquired keep their heads down and pray their jobs aren’t on the chopping block. 🙏🏻 These ID-10-Ts are signing up to be part of the 75%! 🤣 Sure is going to make Elon’s job easier.
I worked for a YUGE corporation and whenever profits were down or there was need for an, ‘er, restructuring, some people would walk around with their coffee cups speculating who would be cut. I told a bunch of them one day to go back to their cube and work. Sheesh. I put in many, many years and don’t regret the education I received working in that very successful business.
Good observation about those who are so mentally challenged to sign this letter. Easy pickens.
Reminds me of a small business owner who needed to slim down his work force. He went out to the employee parking lot and wrote down all the vehicles that had bumper sticker supporting politicians who wanted to shut down small businesses. The owners of those vehicles were the first ones to be part of the slimming down process.
Oh, cry me a River! You are only employees, not the owner. Perhaps, you are also a stockholder, but you can be fired for not following company rules and policy. Go whine somewhere else.
Elon is buying the company to take it private, meaning they will NOT be shareholders, only employees.
Yeah, we would have liked to been not discriminated against because of our political beliefs, too, twitter.

Every conservative you shadow banned, blocked or banned from the platform.
Guess we should have written a demand letter. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Techie Jane and Techie Joe are going to eat a lot of crow!
For them, A future somewhat bleak
Careers asunder down sh*t creek
their plates piled high
with humble pie
Never fear, cuz there’s plenty of room
For Jane to push a janitor’s broom
And Joe can have a ten minute rest
After plunging toilets with the best.
I know that reality can sometimes suck
But you had it coming ‘cuz you worked for Zuck.
You laughed as you cancelled
You couldn’t have cared less
And Now it’s YOUR turn,
If I do confess
Reality sucks
for you now, I know,
But you’ve had it coming,
Jane and Joe.
WTF???
It is ok to ban twitter posters for their political views but not to ban employees for their political views?
That would make sense only to a twitter book burning fascist.
Elon will let people go. California law might prevent him from doing so. I would think he would then block their access and move Twitters HQ to Texas alongside Tesla or to some other Right to Work state.
No matter how you slice it. If Elon closes out the deal tomorrow there is nothing they can do.
Better chug down that open wine tap while you can.
Wait a minute?!
Twitter emplolyees are asking from something they *never* provided their peers (let alone their customers)?!
Rules for thee, but not for me!
Go Musk!
He should send them all a video of Donald Trump from the Apprentice saying, “You’re fired”
