It seems that “voting with your feet” (this time electronically) still works. PayPal, which had announced new “legal agreements” earlier this month, is backing down.
That sounds like gaslighting to someone who works with corporate attorneys.
Every single word and punctuation mark is approved by legal and corporate before release. “Never intended to be inserted” isn’t a thing.

The new agreement, which would have taken effect in early November, attempted to control free speech by its clients. It has since been removed from the PayPal website, but as reported by The Daily Wire:
A new policy update from PayPal will permit the firm to sanction users who advance purported “misinformation” or present risks to user “wellbeing” with fines of up to $2,500 per offense.
The financial services company, which has repeatedly deplatformed organizations and individual commentators for their political views, will expand its “existing list of prohibited activities” on November 3. Among the changes are prohibitions on “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials” that “promote misinformation” or “present a risk to user safety or wellbeing.” Users are also barred from “the promotion of hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory.”
As the contents of the new legal agreement because widely known, droves of PayPal customers began to withdraw their funds and close their accounts. One example:

My opinion? Find another service provider. PayPal may have been the big dog in the market, but they aren’t the only one, and who knows what they will try next. I don’t know anything about this particular company, but here is one of the companies advertising their services:
PayPal showed us their true colors. They will steal your money if you disagree with them.
This is why I created @officialpsq and why we've become the largest network of patriotic businesses in America.

The mask slipped.
Patriots rose to the occassion.
They will get… Not ONE Penny…
Woke is weak.
The left is made up of bullies that need to be punched back.
Bullies can only bully when people allow it.
Kicked right in their pretend nuts
Yep,
Kick their “raisins” to the roof of their mouths.
They may have non binary nuts!
Or maybe they are binary now, from one to zero. 🙂
Great pun
They need to be punched back and stomped on.
Only way to stop a bully. That goes for all the Covid bullies too. Punch back.
It is good that people reacted and they took the fines back. As with everything leftist, this was just the camel’s nose under the tent.
Vanguard owns 8.2% of PayPal, Blackrock 6.59%, and State Street 3.81% . The total of the three is 18.6%. It isn’t just their votes in board meetings, but their access to other board members.
That’s what Kanye said about Josh Kushner admitting to owning 10% of Kim Kardashian’s company SKKMS when Kanye started it with her but only owns 5%.
He said there was no financial reason for Kim to seek outside finance.
The only reason I used pay pal was to send a monthly payment to the treehouse I wish Sundance would give us another option but until then I will keep using the enemy to help my friends
R.D.
THIS!
I am so conflicted. I want to support treehouse as I have several times in the past but I do not want to support those who want me dead.
The answer seems to appear in this post….
See above comment.
Thank you!
Treehouse literally been my mental lifeline.
I’m not sure where I would be mentally w/o this place.
I will wait patiently for this to be fixed and then once again donate.
Glad you’re here, Mycroft my friend.😉
Thank you Betsy!
Perhaps some day your hubby and I will have a bull session 😉
Me, too. Could he set up a GiveSendGo account?
See my comment.
Sundance was looking into alternate payment methods when the hurricane hit.
Even if the proposed new agreement had gone through, you had no worry as long as your account didn’t contain any funds.
Gab has a new pay system…gabpay.com.
It is new, up and running. It might be too new, but I’ll just drop that info here for whatever use it may be.
Thanks Betsy! Agree it is quite new –and I know little about it other than the below links, but thought people might be curious so here are the links I found re Gab’s new pay system.
(Also thanks stella for letting us know about PublicSq — I need to check it out :-))

https://www.christianitydaily.com/articles/12786/20210803/christian-company-announces-upcoming-alternative-to-paypal-following-news-of-partnership-with-adl.htm
You’re welcome…I knew the plans for it were in the works many months ago, and was alerted to its completion in another comment.
So many alternatives. PayPal will find competition exists. There are choices. They will rue the day they got above themselves…I hope.
Not just a matter of funds but being on their spied on list.
Had they not demanded a cell phone number I would have donated.
Thanks Stella good to know I think Sundance has his hands full at the moment so I will be patient and keep sending $ until he has the time to make a change prayers for you and yours Stella be well stay strong
R.D.
I use a regular credit card. Seems to work fine
Credit card works for me as well.
Thanks Booger just put it on my to do list have a great day treepers
Me too.
yes and it’s easier to dispute a charge if you have to
Uh … until someone at Paypal actually looks at the Treehouse and finds we all support MAGA and Donald Trump here, then they will ding Sundance $2500 and your donation will go to Paypal instead. As I recall, the treehouse got crosswise with the ADL some years ago and ever since there have been some things we just can’t talk about here.
FJB
FP
FADL
See my comment. I am sure changes are forthcoming, just not instantly.
The most obvious being who runs Blackrock et al
I got out of that too. Took some doing as I got flack but I perservered and did some demanding of my own. It worked.
John D. That would be the Rothschilds. Very interesting to study them. Dirty devil worshipers (Baphomet the goat man-god). The family is large with many tentacles like an octopus.
they need to be sued
I also use PayPal to donate to the treehouse. Lamented about it to the treehouse but for some reason they could not change. As soon as the treehouse gets rid of PayPal I do the same. Why feed the enemy.
That is the reason I’ve not donated to Treehouse….gave up on PayPal long ago and refused to ever use them again.
Same here, OL
Just use a credit/debit card. Works fine.
However you do not need to be a member in paypal to use it. I closed account many years ago. Still pay by card.
Go to/join Public Square (url below) and search “payment processors”. There were five listed when I looked. I haven’t investigated any of them yet.
https://www.publicsq.com/
Thanks Martha will do appreciate the heads up
How does this affect donations to this site? I seem to recall that the last donation I made went through paypal. I didn’t keep any funds there, hardly ever used it, but I thought I needed it to process the donation here. Their apology didn’t matter to me. I cancelled my account last night.
It’s important to understand. They showed their true colors. And when it fired back. Instead of coming clean and say we botched up. They came denying that they ever meant it.
That means that they live by a lie. And their word worth below zero.
Their response should make even more people leave and those who make payments anywhere demand the use of another payment processor.
Agreed.
A lot of sites will suffer if they don’t get the memo.
FYI. Over a year ago, Dan Bongino warned of the imminent push by the Left to deny financial institutional transaction access by those who disagree with the left’s politics. Another type of de-platforming.
https://bongino.com/dan-bongino-announces-new-anti-cancel-culture-payment-platform/
Dan says along with Rumble (better alternative to YouTube) and Locals (alternative to Twitter etc.), he invested in and continues to promote Align Pay. I have not yet had occasion yet to use it myself.
https://alignpay.com/
Please understand that this is not PayPal in in of itself. PayPal ultimately stands on the shoulders of the credit card companies which hold em by their neck. And so does Bongino, he’s exploiting this niche for the time being. But he probably knows good and well that he’s in the hole with them. I didn’t fall for him and neither should you…
For more info you may try to find the video of the Patreon CEO admitting why he broke his promise of keeping the platform free speech.
I think it is PayPal on its own. I dropped PayPal several years ago when I learned about all the anti-conservative things they were supporting.
Align Pay has no connection with either Patreon or Parler. Despite obviously having no awareness of Dan’s often-stated purpose to create a parallel internet for free-speech loving conservatives (MAGA, etc.) you are apparently nonetheless determined to smear him.
It has a connection with visa and Mastercard and that is the precise connection that has botched up the free speech of Patreon. So long as any payment system will rely on that duonopoly we will not have a solution. Same goes for Truth social so long as they rely on Apple and Google to maintain a platform.
If you want to think that Bongino thinks he has it figured out go for it. You will be in for a rude awakening.
Ah, ok. So we should stop using our Mastercard or Visa bank cards (my Visa is for my small credit union, not a national bank) and use that other popular credit card for online purchases that everyone has in their wallet….I forgot its name, what is it?
And we should throw away our iPhones and Android phones and buy that other non-Big tech cellphone that’s usable on all the major cellular networks and has the apps we all tend to use……but I forgot its name, what is it?
You are correct. There are really just four payment processors. Everything goes through them on part of the journey. All of them are suspect. Visa, MC, Amex, Discover.
Yes. And I am fairly certain AMEX was the first to come out with “woke” statements in support of BLM and other such nonsense. I recall many Treepers at the time rejecting Amex because f its foolish pronouncements. In my region, Discover is accepted at far less establishments than Visa or Mastercard or even Amex. So I never considered it a viable alternative, but I also don’t know Discover’s level of “wokism” in their public statements and policies.
I noticed no one answered. Was waiting for an answer because I wanted to know too.
This is not the answer to your question, but Spectrum promises privacy (?) and they use the verizon towers so the coverage is good and the price is supposedly better. That remains to be seen. This will take some research.
😉
AFAIK, there is no alternative cell phone or credit card that is as widely accepted as the top three (incl Amex) nor any third manufacturer of cellphone hardware that is available in immediate supply, usable on the established networks, and as adaptable as the current “big two”.
There are other secure cellular phone hardware (such as Purism Librem 5) in very limited* supply that has limited application, but that cannot satisfy mass demand. * limited means backordered for 52 weeks!
https://puri.sm/products/librem-5/
So unless we are ready to return to 196o (cash and checks only) and hardwired telephones, we are stuck with less-than-optimum choices.
Young people see me writing a check and can’t figure out what I’m doing lol
Now that’s funny. Also rather sad, but unsurprising with this young generation.
ifone is evil and I certainly am not giving them my money and the TOS on the apps is generally a horror show. To each his own but they aren’t getting my money.
FYI – Both Visa and Mastercard are cooperatives. They are the network, not the issuer. Whether issued by a Chase, Citi, BoA, or a credit union, the network is the value. So, a Visa or Mastercard is the network of acceptance; not the issuer.
The important point is AFAIK there are no real or equally secure alternatives to using those networks unless one stops paying for goods or services online.
If there is a viable alternative, I think a lot of us would be interested in knowing about it.
Thank you GB Bari, alternatives are much appreciated!
You are quite welcome.
Now imagine what 87,000 IRS agents can do to wrongthinkers passing “misinformation” and “disinformation”?
I believe one of PDJT’s first priorities when he takes office again in January 2025 will be to terminate the 87,000 (or however many were actually hired) new, armed agents.
Just transfer them to border patrol…….
They are willing to carry firearms so yes!
Those that refuse out themselves as only willing to use lethal force against Americans instead of for Americans.
Just transfer the budget to collect and deport every single illegal alien in this country, especially those that crossed the border to the illegal Biden administration.
since most will be delinquent in Espanol I suggest ICE instead and PDJT can begin to keep one of his two failed major promises of the 2016 campaign…….DEPORT illegals….just think now they have 5M + and any additional ones until he gets into office to send home
Please remember how limited his power was in reality.
Milley IMO literally committed treason!
“one of his two failed major promises”
Do you forget the series of court injunctions that blocked PDJT’s ability to carry our his EO’s to block illegal border crashing? It was amazing that he finally got the Remain in Mexico policy to stick, thanks to his work with the Mexican President in the trade deal.
https://cis.org/Bensman/Trumps-Remain-Mexico-Policy-Appears-Be-Working
Do you forget that the Republican Congress REFUSED to fund the Wall or to change immigration laws to support our 45th President?
President Trump kept his promises in early 2017 but was immediately undermined by the GOP Congress. And they also aided the Democrats by not blocking the IC’s illegal and underhanded scheme which immediately ensnared him in the RussiaGate scandal, which removed his AG – and his DOJ – from having any real politically-powered authority.
It is absolutely amazing he got the Wall built as far as he was able – by using existing approved funding for defense purposes.
But because the GOP-controlled Congress in 2017-2018 refused to pass legislation that would have reinforced PDJT’s immigration control promises, the EOs were all he had, and they were instantly wiped out by Obiden in January of last year.
TY for the whole truth! Yes, it is amazing. In spite of the deep state, President Trump did so much good. People seem to take that for granted! Bari, you rock!!
I think if one examines the situation, one will find we have in excess of 30 million illegals present in the USA.
Would you really trust them to actually apprehend illegals instead of just helping them pass into the nation’s interior? I would not trust them at all, since they are being vetted and hired by Ozero’s Deep State acolytes during Biden’s term. They will probably NOT be pro-MAGA patriots……
Seem to recall a few GOP politicians saying “Help us regain control of Congress and we will defund the new
IRS-expansion on Day One.”
The GOP will repeal the IRS expansion just like they repealed ObamaCare.
missed the /s I think
No “/s” needed because Congress will literally repeal it JUST EXACTLY LIKE they repealed ObamaCare. In other words, THEY WON’T!!
I read you loud and clear.
GOP have promised a lot of seemingly “pro-MAGA” actions but then refused to deliver ANYTHING to PDJT’s desk but the Dec 2017 tax cuts. Then they purposefully handed the House to the Democrats in Nov 2018 and the rest is history.
Why stop with just the new hires?
Terminate them and send their guns and ammunition to gun shops to sell to patriotic Americans.
How about reassign them to Border Patrol?
Terminate several million feds and that would be a dent DC **might** notice
Putin might eventually fire them…
PP has a long history of locking up funds for many superfluous reasons. Back when I did a lot of eBay business, we knew if any buyer complained about an item we sold and shipped that PP would lock our ENTIRE account (not just the amount involved) and take their sweet time in resolving the matter.
We transferred the bulk of funds out asap. It’s even more important now.
I suspect future PP bankruptcy is an option. ..
Actually, it’s a huge loss for ESG fanatics (like Blackrock).
I liked the layer of protection that PayPal seemed to provide. I did not use it a lot, but it is now canceled.
Correct. One big selling point was that you could register your accounts and not have CC and Debit Card numbers all over everywhere. However, there is a huge risk in that. If they should ever get hacked, the hacker gets everything.
I dumped my paypal account when they jumped on the all-sex bathrooms and “transgenderism is normal” bandwagon. About the same time as I last set foot in a Target. I will never be part of the effort to mainstream perversion and mental illness. Just put me down as whatever kind of “denier” that is.
I use my credit card for donations to our Treehouse. Works fine. No need for you to have a paypal account to do it.
I tried that. It seems that the money still goes through PP. But instead of using your CC on file they charge the card you specified.
That’s right. I’m sure they charge Sundance a fee for order processing. His choice.
SD should consider ZELLE.
Anyone surprised with what PayPal did?
This is who they are.
Stop using them
Yes, and backpedaling doesn’t change it. Trudeau backpedaled when the Canadians ran the banks but he’s still Trudeau and the threat is there as along as he and those who control him breathe. Same with Paypal.
For now, we still have some choices, though they are getting fewer and more onerous as time marches on. History finds such events as runups to wars including the world wars most of us know about. It’s October. What surprises await?
I rarely used my PayPal account, but it still felt great to delete it this morning.
Ditto!
BTW
“Venmo is owned by PayPal and is part of PayPal’s larger family of brands.”
I don’t use them for anything either this canceling thing is fun!
When life hands you a lemon.
😉
So they are not actually walking it back? Problem is finding a service to replace them, including CTH, using paypal.
I dropped my account years and years ago because someone kept trying to hack in. Never looked back..
Here goes…
I had that issue too….
Something disturbing in this beyond the obvious is they included sending messages. How would they know what you sent in your private messages?
Good Question, Lulu!
Because every communication we transmit is captured and stored to be used against us.
SMH! at people still using google, yahoo, and such, and that includes my wife. GRRRRRR!
Big Tech appears to provide “unannounced” (except if you read the fine print in the user Agreements and Privacy Policies) sharing of all users data.
Good observation Lulu!
Your question took my mind back to another lightbulb moment…“hey Wally – howdya know it was my dime?”
As Mycroft pointed out above Venmo is owned by PayPal and a lot of people use it. I refuse to use either. I do have family members that do though. Be awRe.
Two days ago, I “zeroed” my Pay Pal account.
For P2P transfers, try ZELLE. No fees and seemingly no political bullshit.
This is the first viable alternative I’m hearing of. Do you have any further information?
You need to associate the payment with an email account that the recipient connects to their bank account.
I need to research ZELLE and how it can access my personal checking account. What safeguard does my bank have in place?
Your bank adds Zelle as one of its services that you can use when you are logged into your account. When you send money to some one you use an email that they have registered with Zelle to deposit in their bank account. I use it to xfr money to my daughter if they need support quickly.
I use Zelle for some personal payments. When you sign up to use it to send payments, you give them your debit card number, and they use that to access your checking account to take the payment. Bank safeguards are the same as for any use of the debit card.
PayPal’s CEO has made it clear that the company, and its sister company Venmo, cannot be trusted. Americans who value the right for everyone to live in a free society should cancel their accounts. And for everyone who already canceled their accounts, those should stay canceled.
https://thekylebecker.substack.com/p/paypal-releases-urgent-statement
Big Tech censors are everywhere!

PayPal and Venmo are said to be one and the same company. A word to the wise …
When will CTH move away from PayPal for donations? I’ve never had a PP account but would donate via credit card through the CTH Donate button. I don’t want to do even that now. UPDATE: Just saw Stella’s response to others so I’ll wait patiently until the other option is set up. Thanks, Stella.
Karl went off on PP yesterday over at Market Ticker. He had to put it on the What the Media Doesn’t Want You to Know side but it is legendary Denninger.
… ‘will expand its “existing list of prohibited activities” on November 3.’
Timing is everything.
hmmmm.. what do they know that we don’t????
This is very, very problematic for tiny freelancers like me. I’ve got a kinda-sorta business where I do freelance copy editing. Getting paid through PayPal allows me to actually keep all the money that I am paid, rather than paying a percentage to such a place as Payoneer or Patreon or Fiverr. And as far as I can find, there just isn’t another individual-to-individual service that allows one to get paid for free. There’s CashApp, but that’s owned by Square, which belongs to Jack Dorsey, and also skims money off.
I hate to support PayPal. But if I cancel my account, my ability to support my family will shrink away even further. It’s a terrible Catch-22.
TreeClimber: You gain your freedom by cancelling your Paypal account. Get rid of them.
By the way, I have done a lot of editing and proofreading, for professional and business colleagues and acquaintances, but I have never made a dime. My work has always been “a favor,” and I stopped doing it, for the most part, because I’m done with favors.
I have three tiny children depending on me. I’m not giving away my labor for free as a favor, and I can say from experience that being homeless is no kind of freedom at all.
Do you have toddlers looking to you to take care of them? Feed and clothe and shelter them? I’m guessing not.
No, I’m not going to close down my business.
TreeClimber: I empathize with your situation and did not suggest that you close down your business. We are all here to encourage each other and I am just offering words of encouragement. Of course, because my advice is unsolicited and free, you can ignore it. Sometimes, my advice is not welcome. I have advised business owners for decades. Have you considered discussing a wider range of payment terms with clients? Negotiated pricing and terms of payment? Electronic payment directly to your (business) checking account, which many banks offer, without use of third-party services or apps?
No one said close your business!
I’m sure it would take careful thought in disengaging from PayPal and not a knee jerk, so you do not jeopardize your financial welfare in the meantime.
.
There are some alternatives, depending on the size of the transaction. Raise your prices to cover the merchant fees and directly accept credit and debit card payments. And/or open an account at a bank into which people can directly deposit or wire funds (you may be able to put an order in at the bank to automatically transfer incoming funds to another, private account). And/or do it the old-fashioned way by having customers mail checks in advance.
.
If one is in business, get a merchant/ACH account and accept credit/debit/ACH directly if one wants to move beyond cash and checks. Back when I was in business probably 90% of my accounts were net 30. PO/signature on the invoice and out the door the job went, ten bucks or ten thousands bucks. Part of being in business.
There’s no free lunch in business, presuming one is going to operate it within society’s framework. Licenses, rules, taxes, banks, lawyers, accountants, you name it.
In the current milieu, one can expect to be cancelled if operating outside of Commie-think, woke, whatever. Check in with firearms sellers/licensees for the battles they’ve been facing for quite some time for doing nothing more than buying and selling a tool of a constitutionally protected right. That’s what America is.
Beware of the golden handcuffs. The owners of them have a smile on their face. We got a glimmer of that smile with the latest actions by Paypal. There are many ways to support one’s family. People have done it for centuries, even in the face of oppression, feudalism, Communism, Fascism, whatever. Adapt and overcome or play the game and wash the master’s feet. We have choices.
BTW, I did use PP pretty much since it became a thing, and received tens of thousands yearly just in rental payments. All it took was them holding the account for one international sale, not a problem sale, just the fact that it was international, and that ended, now over a decade ago. I canceled them and never looked back. That’s how business works.
Update: having read the comments and seen a viable alternative listed above, (Zelle,) I have discovered that my bank already offers it and emailed my clients to inform them that I am migrating payment processing.
I have never had a PayPal account and don’t understand why anyone would. The company is obviously of the “woke” persuasion, which is a cancer to me from the get-go. I also don’t understand why anyone would leave money parked in an account on the internet that could disappear like a thief in the night in a nanosecond … with your hard-earned money in their hip pocket.
This statement from the PayPal spox is a complete lie. Their conscious decision to insert the $2500 fine into their policy was reconsidered only after people started pulling their money out. Anyone who doesn’t realize they will try to do something like this again in the future is being a sucker. Get your money out of this vile organization … NOW.
I shopped a lot on eBay and other businesses. It’s an extra wall for your credit card number.
I am an eBay seller. A lot of people started using PayPal because of the connection to eBay.
I want nothing more than to continue my monthly contribution but will only do so when you break with PayPal. Just tried again now, 10/09/22 at 12:40 and you all are still linked to PayPal.
Sundance has been looking into alternative payment processes. He’s a bit busy right now, since a storm destroyed his neighborhood, so plans are on hold. Do what you like about donations, but I will point out:
You don’t have to have a PP account to donate.
They can’t take your money if you don’t have money in one of their accounts.
I haven’t looked at the options. Can we mail a check ?
That’s called punishing the messenger.
Protecting oneself is not selfish if that be your implication.
I have objected to PP’s NEW phone number requirement. In the past they did not need a phone number and as Sundance himself has cautioned the gather of phone numbers is one more brick in the wall.
Stella says it’s being dealt with and once the mud settles Sundance will fix it.
At that point I’ll send some him some money.

No single quote, but rather a combination of these, seem to encapsulate the stupidity of
PayPal’s original position [“fines of up to $2,500 per offense”].
May they reap what they have sown…
I’m out. They won’t let me cancel straight out without talking to customer service. Roadblock.
But it will happen.
Tell them to delete your data. Notice will appear saying if they do so, they must close your account. Voila’! How do I know? 😉
Interesting article from last August about what Governor DeSantis is doing in Florida.
https://legalinsurrection.com/2022/08/desantis-wont-allow-florida-fund-managers-to-use-woke-bankings-esg-standards/
LA is pulling almost $800M from their pension funds out of Blackrock
The funniest phrase:
“…this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy…”
Can they explain, then, exactly how DID it end up being inserted in their policy and published worldwide?
And…what was it “intended to be”–if not “in [the] policy?”
Love watching wokesters doing belly flops.
“Can they explain, then, exactly how DID it end up being inserted in their policy and published worldwide?”
Obviously, the Russians did it. Likely Putin himself.
Lefties are such liars
Hahaha
Right?
Oops, we were just sitting around brainstorming new policy ideas and somehow, this particular idea of charging $2,500 per “wrong-speech incident” , which incidentally also had a future start date, insidiously inserted itself into our policy – unbeknownst to us – just like a virus, or something!
‘We got hacked!’ 🤣
10/09/22 Update (11:00AM ET): Twitter appears to have pulled a PayPal, and promptly re-instated the post in question after blowback on the social media site about the censoring. As of about noon on the East Coast Sunday, the Tweet was once again showing up under Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo’s feed.
Earlier today Twitter censored Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo’s tweet about a new Covid vaccine study that “the public needs to be aware of.” He said, “this analysis showed an increased risk of cardiac-related death among men 18-39. FL will not be silent on the truth.”
I believe this is off-topic?

Meanwhile, if you want to send the info out to people, don’t do it via twatter. Send them the official Florida government URL:

I stopped using PayPal years ago and do not use fee bay unless I see something I really need, or just can’t live without. Living without is becoming easier every day.
Ditched PayPal years ago after they came out in support of black lies matter and left some honest feedback which was posted and then removed by the snowflakes at PP within 24 hrs.
I suggest you dont use the same woke fascists services on Goolag Play and the App Store to download the PublicSQ app or any app for that matter. Get creative with getting around it. Unfortunately, this PublicSQ app wants our phone number to sign up.
Try APK pure as an alternative. https://apkpure.com/. You can download the PublicSQ app from there.
Download the APK app on your phone. I dont know if Apple allows you to do that on their devices but android (goolag) does. APK wont try to tell you what you can and cant download like Goolag and Apple.
I tried to cancel my account but they want me to call their 866 number to do so. Has anyone found a way around this?
Just do it. They are trying to discourage you from cancelling. I have had this same experience with other companies – the latest was Epoch Times. Really annoying!
No kidding, I had to repeat my phone number 4 times and ended up talking to someone in paypain credit which i don’t have. Transferred to regular accounts, went through a mess of prompts only to end up with having to wait 30 minutes to talk with someone. I elected to take a call back and the number they said I was calling from was wrong, had to repeat my number again. What a bunch of jerks, setting up all these roadblocks hoping I’d give up. After all this, I doubt they’ll call back.
They called back, it’s done :^)
File complaints – BBB, FTC, state AG
They made it difficult years ago too after the first wave of cancelations started during the black lies matter terror riots which they proudly support. Dont give up.
Yep, back when I cancelled it was a couple of click through pages, kinda like how Amazon does it now when one cancels a membership subscription there.
Even though canceled, I also reported the credit card tied to the account stolen and closed the sweep account I’d prior used, a business account, where PP funds had ended up. No loose ends.
After having Paypal for many many years with many automatic payments setup I just canceled the account on their app very easily!!! They even didn’t ask me why I am leaving lol.
They showed their woke, leftist leanings long ago. I rid myself of them and American Express ’bout the same time.
Park your funds in a sock under your mattress. At least you can trust yourself.
I think it’s important for people to realize the need to develop a parallel financial economy. Early adopters will take a hit (e.g. pay higher interest rates, higher fees or earn less return on investment) but will win out in the long run.
The digital economy is the way to do it. Again, I can’t stress the importance of listening to Michael Saylor’s being interviewed by Lex Fridman, Patrick Ben-David and the YouTube series on Robert Breedlove’s channel (the Fridman or Ben-David interviews will give a good overview).
The lightning payment protocol can be used to spin up payment apps essentially in a weekend. These digital payment apps can transfer money very cheaply and must be used to create friction on the internet.
Think about it, you can’t do anything in the “real” world without being subjected to friction. You can only rent and be physically present in one hotel room at a time. You’re limited to being only able to physically damage one room at a time; however, with a script you can create 10,000 bits in an instant to cause problems.
If you were to put up a $5 security fee on a credit card it would disappear pretty quickly with 35 cent minimum fees; however, that same $5 could last forever with fractional digital fees (for instance 0.0000000000001). The idea Saylor presents is someone like Twitter creating an orange check mark where you put up a $10, maybe $5, bond for safe passage through the internet.
Right now there’s no recourse to creating 10,000 fake bots, but if it cost you $10 each that’s be a different story.
I think it’s important for people to realize the need to develop a parallel financial economy.
Andrew Torba is and has been doing this for years now. GAB is my second favorite site after Treehouse.
Free speech is “antisimetic” in case you haven’t noticed yet.

Every single word and punctuation mark is approved by legal and corporate before release. “Never intended to be inserted” isn’t a thing.
Absolutely! PayPal is lying.
Before I was an outhouse counsel I was an in-house counsel. Nothing of a contractual or potentially contractually nature in a large corporation gets signed or goes out without the initials of a lawyer from the legal department.

I use my bank card as a Visa to contribute the this site.
Maybe Elon Musk should buy Paypal ha ha.
Now make them rescind their long-standing prohibitions on 2A items like gun parts, ammunition, and components.
Gaslighting. Another name for lieing. Kinda like Hillary– I misspoke. Kinda like misinformation and disinformation. There is only truth and lies.
This is another example of the evil that has grown so large that the common person can’t really tackle it. Yes, there is a pretense of a win on this but the reality remains that PP will do as they please. The average person can’t reach the evil rulers.
We CAN reach their enforcers. I personally can’t avoid paypal because much of my business involves purchasing from others who have that as their payment option. I can and do however charge more to my accounts when I find they are supporting the left. I have a built in leftist upcharge for every leftist I can identify. If I do business with them at all.
When I ordered the Trump book, I used PayPal. A month later I wondered why I hadn’t received the book and wrote them. Found out that PayPal refunded my money and cancelled the order – WITHOUT telling me.
Wow – naked commercial interference
This is another important reason to cancel paypal. I ordered the 20oo Mules video and and never received it. That’s probably why!
“The new agreement, which would have taken effect in early November, attempted to
controleliminate free speech by its clients. “PayPal needs to explain how this “policy” came to exist, and be announced, then explain what they are doing about it. If rogue individuals did this without authorization, PayPal should announce their termination and explain how new controls will prevent recurrence. A general purge of leftists from their employ would help keep my business.
The National Socialists/Fascists/Corporatists want to control all free speech and all the money.
If they can force a digital currency on us it’s over, our freedom, our Bill of Rights and our Constitutional Republic will be gone.
If you give them an inch, they will certainly take a mile.
One problem is how to get businesses to adopt another alternative payment method.
I have used PayPal in shopping so I don’t have to register at a website to order something and give them my credit card number.
