On Sunday evening the New York Post reported, “An unforeseen tragedy forced Governor DeSantis to reschedule his trip to New York,” Zeldin spokeswoman Katie Vincentz said, declining to elaborate. “While we’re rescheduling with Governor DeSantis for a later date, tonight’s fundraiser will proceed and is expected to raise almost a million dollars.” (link)
Monday afternoon the New York Post identified the “unforeseen tragedy“:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis backed out of a fundraiser for New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin to attend a Monday memorial service for a member of his security detail who died in the line of duty, sources told The Post.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Jose Perez was responding to a call in an unmarked cruiser on Aug. 2 when he was struck by Javier Sandoval, 35, in Miami. Perez was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries and died on Aug. 20. […] While unable to attend the evening event, DeSantis was in Deal, New Jersey, earlier in the day at the home of Jay Cayre, head of Midtown Equities, sources told The Post. (link)
Despite Officer Perez passing away eight days earlier, apparently, Governor DeSantis was unaware of the Monday funeral plans when he flew the governor’s jet to New Jersey to meet with billionaire real estate mogul Joseph ‘Jay’ Cayre on Sunday, forcing him to cancel the Zeldin fundraiser a few hours later in New York, or so the story is told.
However, the background looks really bad. Billionaire Joseph Cayre of Midtown Equities just gave New York Governor Kathy Hochul “more than” $400,000 for her campaign against Lee Zeldin, right before DeSantis showed up. [LINK]
Ron DeSantis flies to New Jersey/ New York on Sunday, meets with billionaire developer Joseph Cyre, who just donated $400k+ to Democrat candidate Kathy Hochul. Immediately following the meeting, DeSantis cancels the fundraiser with Hochul’s opponent, Republican Lee Zeldin, and returns to Florida. Apply Occam’s Razor here.
The funeral was announced the 26th [CITATION]. Governor DeSantis knew the date/time for the funeral (29th) before he got on the plane (28th).
So, what changed? Horrible unforeseen circumstances, or a request from a Big Club donor? The timing and circumstances look terrible.
The team behind DeSantis has promised to reschedule with Zeldin.
Also, in positive Florida news:
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a leading investment in clean energy for Florida today with a $68 million award for 227 electric transit buses, and an unknown secondary distribution from the Dept of Environmental Protection for 218 electric school buses. [Details Here]
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis celebrated another step in the state’s efforts to modernize public transit and reduce air pollutants caused by diesel emissions. Through the Volkswagen settlement, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is awarding more than $68 million that will secure 227 electric transit buses in 13 counties statewide that will replace existing diesel transit buses in Alachua, Broward, Duval, Escambia, Hillsborough, Leon, Marion, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Orange, Palm Beach, Pasco, and Pinellas counties.
“This funding will help lower emissions while also bringing our transit bus fleets to more modern standards,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “This is a win-win for air quality and advancing the state’s efforts to bolster growing electric vehicle usage.”
In addition to today’s announced electric transit bus grant awards, DEP has also awarded grants to seven school districts to purchase a total of 218 electric school buses in Broward, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Orange, Palm Beach, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties. Introducing electric buses is an important and effective way to reduce harmful emissions, especially in highly populated areas where mobile sources are the largest sources of air pollution. As more and more electric vehicles are deployed, emissions of air pollutants will be reduced, which will continue to improve Florida’s air quality. (read more)
If Trump runs again I will vote for him. I like DeSantis, and if Trump doesn’t run, as of now I’ll probably vote for him if he runs. The DeSantis admin funds some electric buses? What about this?
TRUMP ADMINISTRATION FUNDS PROJECTS TO MORE EFFICIENTLY CHARGE AND DEPLOY ELECTRIC BUSES

I agree that Sundance’s story raises a flag. On the other hand, are we saying that only billionaires should run for president? We all know that New York billionaires never “pay to play, donating to dems” in the Big City. OK, if they do give to dems and dem causes, why, we’ll give them a pass because that’s just part of being a wealthy developer. Candidates like DeSantis, who need to raise money to run, why, they can’t pay to play! Only wealthy developers are allowed to do that!
He voted for TPP – he’s no different than Noem or Haley etc.
And DJT supported OWS development of the jabs. Why he’s no better than Fauci!
Get the heck out of here with your situational ethics. All of you.
We’re playing for keeps now. There can be no tolerance for ANYONE who fails in the mission statement. That is where all of you FAIL. I’m onboard with dumping RD if he is part of the problem space. But you? You all rationalize failure why crucifying anyone who doesn’t worship at the same alter. It’s revealing and pathetic at one and the same time. You don’t get it – even now. DJT failed because he never developed the trustworthy leadership and action agent hierarchy needed to succeed BEFORE assuming office. By all appearances that hasn’t changed.
Trump more or less could not act without being charged with obstruction of justice. There was no peaceful transfer of power from Obama to Trump, and Obama unlawfully retained control of the DOJ and FBI.
Even a giant steampunk tea kettle with a ridiculous southern accent knows this!
You bet!
Well then, maybe DJT just isn’t clever enough or up to the task. Is that what you are saying?
No one could have leaked followed immediately by PDJT televised “I didn’t know about this but I’ll get to the bottom of it”? Sound familiar?
Spot on
Shame on Sundance for concocting this piece of crap from unknown sources. ” Oh what a tangled web we weave when at first we start to deceive”.
Governor Ron DeSantis arrived early Sunday morning to attend a scheduled fundraiser in Deal, NJ for his November election campaign hosted by Joe Cayre. Mr. Carye was the largest area fundraiser for President Trump in his 2016 campaign. The Cayre family had, about three weeks earlier given a $400,000 donation to the Hochul campaign. Governor DeSantis was also scheduled later that day to speak at a fundraiser for Lee Zeldin. When his affair ran long the two camps agreed to reschedule DeSantis after the President Trump rally for Zeldin to allow the Governor time to return to Florida Sunday night and attend the Monday morning mass for fallen FLDE officer Jose Perez.
President Trump will hold his rally for Zeldin in Deal on September 4 at 5 PM and will offer $25,000 photo opportunities with the former President. Flyer for this rally is available on Twitter at ZackFinkNews.
Zeldin, an outspoken Pro-Lifer and Trump supporter just received the endorsement of the Brooklyn based fundraising power the New Era Democrats according their President Mr. Orlando.
If CTH members do not get why Florida candidates for Senator and Governor campaign in New York, they do not understand Florida politics. In some parts of our state, one out of three are ex-New Yorkers with strong family and political ties back there. Make a strong impression in NY it will produce not only money but also votes in FL
“Shame on Sundance for concocting this piece of crap from unknown sources”
Catturd, is that you?
Oh, and how dare you come here and insult our host.
No not Catturd, just another hillbilly like Sundance. I have, and always will be his strong supporter if the story is straight but spread crap and you need to get some stink on you no matter who it is.
My post is just the actual facts on the DeSantis trip to NY and related events. There was no flight up to meet Cayre, it was a campaign event scheduled far in advance, Hochul did not “just receive” the Cayre donation, it was weeks before, etc. If you are going to tell a story, tell it straight, no spin or slant to throw shade or mislead from a personal bias.
You again?
Unknown sources? What exactly are you disputing? If you don’t like the links in Sundance’s post, here are a couple more:
https://www.crainsnewyork.com/politics/family-behind-midtown-equities-showers-hochul-more-400000
https://newjerseyglobe.com/campaigns/desantis-raises-money-in-n-j-on-sunday/
The issues at hand are not crap to MAGA.
1. Fact –He is being funded by a major donor to Hochul. In case you didn’t noticce, she’s Zeldin’s democrat opponent. And it wasn’t a small tip. It was major support.
2. Fact DeSantis is almost entirely reliant on big donors –that unfortunately is a flag. Very little grassroots support so far. Big donor dependency is a sign we have learned to spot. A politician bends to his financial supporters. Big donors do end up controlling politicians. And this donor currently likes Hochul a lot.
3. Fact DeSantis bailed last minute on Zeldin’s fundraiser. There was no emergency. The police officer sadly passed on Aug 20. The memorial service was the next morning, Monday, Aug 29 at 10:30am. So DeSantis seems to have not been truthful about the reason for his last minute cancellation. It is a bad look and the timing of Sunday’s events do ask a reasonable person to question what happened.
4. Fact – The electric buses DeSantis has ordered are another flag –MAGA is not Green New Deal. MAGA wants an energy independent country –something we had with fossil fuels under President Trump. The EV buses show DeSantis carrying the banner for the left.
Everyone here pretty much agrees we need to bring DeSantis over the finish line in November for the governor race. But DeSantis behavior in the last several weeks looks like seeing the transformation of MAGA into RINO in real time. He’s not 2024 MAGA material.
As to your fact 2, why would I, on the opposite side of the country, donate to a governor, who by all accounts, will be reelected easily.
If DeSantis announces his candidacy for president, I may or may not donate to his campaign, based on who has the best chance of being elected President. I’m sure he’ll get plenty of small donors to back him.
No candidate is perfect– aligns perfectly with our ideals– including President Trump.
Problem is that the Republic is in a free-fall, and if it is to be saved, we need an anti-establishment, proven reformer in the White House. So while no one is perfect, we do need as close to it as possible. DeSantis will be assimilated by the GOPe and will not take on the 4th Branch.
Geez! Suffer from a messianic complex do ya?
You can’t save the Republic unless you convince enough people to join the fight. And that means some give and take on this patently absurd mob mentality to destroy everyone breathing based on circumstantial evidence. It’s the exact same behavior pattern of the Jan 6 committee. To a T.
The smart person takes notes and strikes when the moment is right – not at the drop of every loyalty uncertainty. You end up sacrificing what you believe you are gaining.
Still doesn’t answer the question – since there was no “emergency” to get back to Florida, why did he skip the Zeldin fundraiser at the last minute? And why directly after visiting a donor to Hochul? It does not pass the smell test.
Circumstantial evidence isn’t “fake news”, BTW. Many people are in prison over a plethora of circumstantial evidence proving their guilt. Maybe it’s too soon to deem DeSantis a GOPe stooge but the straws are starting to stack up, are they not?
I think a great number of us are sick to death of giving the benefit of the doubt. How about simply not raising any doubts? Why is this such a difficult policy?
Let’s not become Conservative Rob Reiners – unable to admit the truth even when faced with a mounting pile of evidence simply because it is embarrassing. DeSantis has 4 years to prove himself. What’s the big fat rush? Hmm?
Quit messing around with circumstantial evidence.
Then don’t give the benefit of the doubt any longer. I don’t really care. You live with your own conscience and values.
I’m simply arguing that now is not the time to raise this issue; when the moment comes (i.e., post election if DeSantis declares have all the ducks lined up and go in for the sure kill (in the vernacular)). This circumstantial evidence approach is the same eff’ing BS that the Jan 6 committee has been inflicting on all of us; same reasoning used to lock folks in jail with slim to no hard evidence.
Do not become your enemy.
Give and take? No, it means having some intelligence, reading the tea leaves, trying to get it right. We know what we have in Trump, for the great, the ok, and the bad. We also know he can’t be bought and won’t be sold. We know he is no friend of the Establishment anymore than we are. At this point we have no such certainties about DeSantis. At very least, keep DeSantis under a very watchful eye like the rest.
Fair enough. I assume you mean keep an open mind until the evidence is overwhelmingly conclusive. It will come out in time – certainly in the primaries (should it come to that).
Yes, that is a reasonable position. Many were Neoconned for years under the Bushies. Many thought Ted Cruz walked on water. The GOPe is not our friend. They are actually worse than the Democrats in some ways, that is, in the ways of deception. Trump has proven what he is as President, for the great, the ok, and the bad. We just don’t know with DeSantis yet, and currently, there are some red flags going up. Let us hope they prove false. But yes, keep a very watchful eye. And if/when a politician tells you what they actually are, believe them!!!
Amen.
You are correct, at this point he is not 2024 MAGA material, only PDJT is but this is 2022, what is the need to
to slander him now?
I think people are rightfully on the lookout for the next sellout. I would agree – no need to throw him under the [electric] bus yet. But there’s also no rush for him to be President with a scant record.
What are we trying to do, elect the Florida version of Obama – someone with just enough sheen to win votes but not enough history to draw his true values into question?
He’s not running for president. He’s running for governor. Trump hasn’t said he’s running for president yet either. People are way out over their skis at this point.
Another point well taken.
Where was DJT when de decided to run in 2015? What record did he have? None. What he had was a very sharp statistician with a keen awareness for an oppressed constituency. The braintrust articulated the messaging for this constituency (the you have been screwed part of it) and smartly expanded the positive part of it (MAGA) to higher level abstractions with broader appeal.
DJT and his team saw the historical moment for what is was and acted. The strategy worked – he won against all the odds. The un-withering assaults reprised by posters on this site are all legitimate. DJT did not falter (ala Bush) – that demonstrates courage. All of this is true.
Was the war won?
That would be to due to the fact that he is polling well against PDT.
“polling well against PDT”
No one is polling well against Donald Trump.
Ron is simply polling better than the rest.
As you say, many areas of FL are populated with wealthy ex-NY’ers. Right now, many of them are in NY. Also, Cayre has a massive real estate interest in Miami. So this fundraiser makes perfect sense from a political standpoint.
Certainly getting interesting around here! Will be interesting to see what develops.
Like I have been saying my Governor is worried about all the new fresh money pouring into the State. We have been ignored. He could have rid us of the digital influence on our Elections, providing a precedent for other States to follow. He did not. Go ahead and rationalize all you want.
Your Governor? Meaning DeSantis. You so sure he’s “worried about all the new fresh money pouring into the State”? You sure he isn’t glad to have some of that?
I’m not rationalizing anything, this is typical. BTW, you’re hardly being ignored. I loved my years in FL, but there are 49 other states. Some of you think the world revolves around you, and have no idea how lucky you are. Honestly, the whining is getting tiresome.
There is a popular ( gets winks and comments) cap worn in Florida. In similar style…it says ” Make America Florida”.
Yes, LOL!
And Hochul? Why did Cayre donate almost a half a million to Zeldin’s opponent Hochul? The rest is filler facts. Hochul got hers first?
Let’s see if DeSantis returns to appear on stage with Trump and Zeldin . Sound right?
Donated to Hochul because the Dems in a solid Blue state can making life miserable for a wealthy developer who doesn’t allow himself to be shaken down, for example, the ridiculous pursuit of Trump by the NY AG on a nonsensical fraud and tax case. I’m sure Trump Enterprises is audited every year by the IRS with no fuss.
So then he should send $400K to Zeldin, too, should he not? I thought that’s how big business works – you quietly cozy up to both sides. That way, whomever wins, you always have an ally and can always say “Yeah, I donated to the other guy but I *really* wanted *you* to win! (wink wink)”
I’m just curious. Did developer Trump ever give money to both Democrat and Republican candidates? Do most Republican candidates reject donations from Democrats? Did President Trump ever reject money from a major Democrat donor? Fill me in, I’m not sure how this political thing works.
Treehouse doesn’t do cute.
Provide your own research.
Yes.
But we all love that voodoo that only you do!
New Yorkers will vote democrat! Don’t lie that they’ll vote Republican!
I’m from NY and used to vote Republican in NY. Now I live in Florida and I’m going to vote Republican again. In the last election the majority of people in Long Island, Staten Island and most of upstate NY voted for Trump.
Nobody really knows how New Yorkers vote–except the CheatWare corporations.
True. I don’t think anyone in Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx and NYC actually votes. The machines just figure out how many votes are needed to beat the Republican voters and viola, Bill DeBlasio!
“Shame on Sundance for concocting this piece of crap”
Sounds like you will need a quality pry bar to wrest those pearls from your iron grip…
I truly think you ought to remove sage from your name.
You ain’t one.
Read a bit more before you spew off cat litter.
“Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a leading investment in clean energy for Florida today with a $68 million award for 227 electric transit buses.”
And how is this positive?!
If I were a betting man, I’d put up a C-note that if you look closely, you will see a /sarc tag somewhere nearby.
Yeah. Figured.
Same way this is:
https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/30/trump-and-biden-both-say-they-support-electric-vehicles-in-debate.html
https://electrek.co/2020/09/29/trump-on-electric-cars-obama-era-ev-tax-credit/
At least Trump supported building them here and got rid of the tax credit.
Donald J Trump also did everything within his power to provide Gas, Oil, and Diesel. I suppose that it is okay to allow and encourage the private sector to produce electric vehicles (without government subsidies). But it is more than important to allow Gas, Oil, and Diesel to be our main sources of energy to use on our vehicles. My beef with government funded electric vehicles is that NO ONE in government cares if that is the best use of tax payer money. They do not care if the city buses catch fire, it is $60,000 (just a guess) for a replacement battery, or that the grid cannot charge a nationwide fleet of electric government vehicles. Trump may have been enthralled with electric transportation BUT he also knew the value and importance of traditional and successful sources of fuel and energy.
At this point, the only one I trust is Trump. He screws up royally sometimes, but if he does, it is because of his own errors, not because of orders he is taking from puppet masters. The WEF is everywhere.
Is this a joke? McConnell muzzled Trump. Trump abdicated his presidency to Fauci and the globalist scum bags that shutdown the economy and performed human trials on the US and world populations. All with support from the “Godfather “ of the clot shot.
Trump is 100% controlled
Desantis is 100% controlled
When will you sheep wake up and see the good cop, bad cop routine.
Then we are doomed. Grab your musket and run for the hills
Already there!
Perhaps a little imbalanced there? Pence was put in charge of the operation. No one seems to bring him into the mix. Did Trump play autocrat king or did he leave it to each individual state to determine their Covid measures? He left it to the States. Did Trump advocate for effective alternative therapeutics like HCQ (which were shot down by Fauci & CDC & Big Pharma & Big Media and Big Tech)? Yes he did. Did he go on record many times stressing it should be one’s free decision whether to get the vaccine or not? Yes he did. Had Trump not done anything to placate the conservative constituents who put an unwise level of trust in doctors and pharmaceuticals and vaccines–you know, the type that get the flu shot every year and want their kids bombarded with as many vaccines as possible–wouldn’t he have lost support and wouldn’t the Dems have used it to their advantage politically and impeached him yet again?
The one area I do criticize Trump is just the now–that he be more open presently about how in looking back the vaccine and all the failed mitigations were not what they were cracked up to be. But even there, given the Dems are starting to try and place all the blame on Trump for all the unnecessary Covid measures (lockdowns, quarantines, mandates, passports, masks, etc), any forthright admissions Trump would make now would only be used against him. He may be wise to wait until after 2024–if he can overcome the election fraud and win–before being more forthright.
Very good points you are making. Dr. Atlas was introduced to the Pence lead covid team and the sparks went off. Trump didn’t have chance to alter course. They would have impeached him yet again. I think Trump shouldn’t have attended so many daily briefings about covid. I wish he’d let Pence own it publicly as well.
Then, Trump would have been labeled uncaring or dereliction of duty! No win
Situation! And the Republicans would not have helped!
THIS! yes, Pence managed to really stay too much behind the scenes and doesn’t really seem to get the fall out from the horrible Covid policy and he hand picked the players
And lets not forget Jared Kushner. Pence and Kushner were running this scam from Trump,,,,,,I think. Trump’s problem beside shilling for the vaccine is this. He appeared with O’Reilly and said that yes he had been vaxxed and YES he got boosted as well!!!! What the hell??? He already had recovered from Covid or did he forget?? Trump openly endorsed getting vaxxed AND boosted. I expect he wants this to die a quiet death so he does not have to answer. Big Pharma? Kushner? Ivanka? Calling BS here.
If President Trump is vaxxed AND boosted then, like half this country, he may not make it to 2024. But I still wouldn’t vote for DeSantis for President. He’s pretending to be one of us so he can be one of them.
Nice try! The individual charged with the financial end of implementing OWS resigned on principle. He stated there was ample evidence of questionable testing integrity AND inadequate attention to evidence of serious secondary epidemiological effects. Point being the uncertainties were present from the very beginning; the medical analysis was out there. There were some in the process who had awareness, others who did not or discounted it.
To me it all seems pretty clear: the imperative was to do something, anything before the virus got out of control and became a hammer to bludgeon the President.
Found James burner account.
Trump didn’t abdicate anything!
Have you ever been up against the media? Have you ever been up against the media telling you the plague is coming and millions will die? Do you know how millions react when told its BS and get back to work, even though they just watched granny die? Ever been stuck between a rock and a hard place as President? NO, you haven’t!
Have you ever held command? Fail and you are held accountable. Comes with the territory.
No, I suspect you haven’t.
Trump had to trust someone with knowledge of a pandemic! Who was he suppose to trust? He didn’t know anything about a Pandemic! Fauci I is the one to blame! Trump didn’t even take all the advice! But, for certain, Trump never had mandates!
You’re right, Nixon isn’t really dead!
I think you could chalk up some of these missteps to misplaced trust, Jared/Ivanka, and the never-ending parade of media attacks. He trusted McConnell who, ostensibly, should have been an ally. He listened to a gaggle of experts who demanded Fauci be allowed to run things “or else people will DIE!”.
But, after nonstop media hammering over “kids in cages” (which Obama started) and the endless carping over the suffering in Puerto Rico because of a “weak response” to Hurricane Maria, I think the man was rightly trying to blunt another attack that he doesn’t care about people.
When everyone is incompetent, who do you trust?! I think Trump got some serious Deep State lessons and if he gets back in, he won’t forget them.
Persecuting, bankrupting, Raiding, Arresting, prosecuting, jailing, PDJT and everyone in his orbit… That’s some act
You really are making it impossible to take your efforts seriously.
Electric busses, what a colossal waste of money.
So, will Volkswagen pay for new buses when the EVs catch fire (possibly taken entire fleets and garages with them)?
Will Volkswagen pay for replacement batteries that fail prematurely?
Will Volkswagen pay for the disposal of the worn-out batteries?
No, no, no. The Public pays the Government that pays Volkswagen for the busses. When the busses burn the Insurance Companies or the self insured Government (the Public’s money) pays for the busses. Again. The buildings. Again.
Unlike recycling aging fuel tanks in busses, yes, you’re correct, the Public will pay for the new Lithium batteries and recovery of the Lithium for transport and burial and for burial land to “dispose of the corruption.
There are no winners except for the Investors who manipulate our future by buying and selling people in Government who hold *the power of the pen*.
Biden filed officially for reelection. Just a side note.
Just stunning; their perception of the public.
They’ll bring out another clone of Biden.
Just kidding, though sometimes you wonder.
His handlers did and they just said, “sign here” and Biden did!
Hope springs eternal!
I’ve got a genuine question. When it’s reported, for instance in this case like many others, that so-and-so billionaire gave hundreds of thousands to candidate x, how is that possible? How come I’m limited to something like $2,700 but billionaires aren’t? I hear the same thing about corporations, like “company x gave a million dollars to candidate so-and-so.” Are companies not limited like individuals are?
I realize the answer might be, they’re donating to the candidate’s pac. But still, isn’t it illegal for candidates to coordinate with a pac? And wouldn’t fundraising for a pac be the same as coordinating?
Interesting question about candidates and PACs. Maybe someone will post an answer.
It seems that federal elections have the $2700 limit, but for state-level races each state sets its own rules I’ve read that in Florida race there is no limit. In NYS I think the limit is just under $70K, anyway at a state level the rules vary.
I think they just ignore the rules, unless it’s Republicans doing it!
I keep asking and asking “Why not wait. Why possibly compromise the Florida Governorship to spread mud NOW?”
Crickets from everyone.
I have not, it’s true, scrolled through all comments here and elsewhere on CTH. The volume of stuff is just too discouraging.
Apologies in advance if there has been a logical, reasonable explanation that was already given
Whether or not the mud needs to be spread, Sundance seems unable or unwilling to explain why it can’t wait 3 months.
Perhaps the lizard people are real and have taken over this site? /s
I agree with this point. Start your attacks when he’s actually eligible to run for POTUS. As a governor, he’s literally the best in the country. Do NOT fook up FL out of fear of what he might or might not do in ’24. If he declares, go for it. Until then, please chill a little.
it’s not like we have hundreds of remotely decent candidates. If we wait for a perfect one, we’ll get a really bad one. Maybe he’s going to eventually be revealed as really bad. OK, but what options besides Trump and DeSantis do we really have?
You give FL to Christ and we’ll lose the FL electorates in ’24 due to tampering. So it wouldn’t matter anyway.
So… why now??
I don’t think anyone is attacking DeSantis for his Florida Governor campaign. It’s all about 2024 presidential. And if you think he’s not running already, I assure you he is.
So what?
The evidence can’t be collected, the argument constructed for release after Nov 2022 elections?
This stinks of panic more than foresight; agenda squaring than strategy.
lol
Page 1 comments. Asked and answered
As you can see in the comments, your Florida readers are worried about how your exposes will affect DeSantis ability to win reelection as governor in 2022 and the rest of the readers are all focused on DeSantis not being the GOP candidate for president in 2024. There is lots of confusion. And there is a lot of negativity for DeSantis in the comments. Of course he’s not better than Trump but he’s clearly better than Charlie Crist.
As a Florida resident, I’d hate to see you convince some voters that its not worth voting for another RINO and just sit out the governor’s election. Perhaps you could clearly state your position in supporting DeSantis for governor this election in a post instead of burying it in the comments which not everyone reads.
Worse. It reflects poorly on the overarching strategy.
Botched, nobody (that I’m aware of) is recommending that Florida citizens not vote for DeSantis.
I’ve already declared that I will never vote for DeSantis in a GOP presidential primary, but even I would vote for him for Florida Governor.
Thank you for that. I went back to Page 1 and read your answer. Then I scrolled down to see if you had further clarified your comment to actually explain exactly “Why NOW?”
But there was nothing, so I went back and read it again.
Sorry Sundance, but this still does not answer the question: Are we willing for this to possibly cost us the Florida Governorship and by extension Florida in 2024?
What you seem to be saying in your comment is that you were first to spot things in 2014/15, and you were first now. Therefore, you did not plan to be “beaten to the punch” in pointing out that DeSantis had sold out in 2022.
Fair enough. But the consequences of claiming first place could be devastating.
Do you believe we’re not going to need Florida in 2024? Or that DeSantis will win Florida easily despite your ripping off the bandaid now?
Do you think DeSantis is a shoe-in in Florida? If you’re positive on that, then maybe I could understand. But HOW can you be positive?
Perhaps you believe that DeSantis will/would sabotage PDJT in 2024, so better to get rid of him altogether now? But surely even DeSantis could not cause as much damage as Crist? Florida is lost in 2024 if Crist is there, don’t we agree. And by extension, the Presidency?
Tear the bandaid off in 3 months, not when tearing it off now might cause the wrong person to bleed to death in 2024. Namely PDJT.
So no, not asked and answered. At least in my opinion.
However, it’s your blog, and my opinion matters squat. Just don’t p*** on my head and try to tell me it’s raining.;-)
The Why Now is answered. Page 1 of comments. Now, knock it off.
This is valuable time to learn, verify and think before you the burial of today’s actions. After nominations, only flattery is allowed. Connect the dots of character and integrity while you can before the candidates are changed into crowd pleasers.
Which is worse (1) a New York real estate mogul donating mega-bucks to a democrat NY Mayoral candidate or (2) an influential Florida news source shilling for Charlie Crist.
Notwithstanding Desantis’s membership in the RNC Club, he is doing a fantastic job here in Florida, and while I appreciate your reporting on Desantis’s motivations, I believe your timing is very, very bad, and could have waited until after the election. It looks very much like you are supporting Crist for Governor over Desantis to me.
Sundance didn’t leak the list of donors that really turned this up to eleven.
Flip this around… were you okay with what Facebook and Twitter did with the laptop?
News happens when it happens and real journalists cover the news.
It looks very much like you are supporting Crist for Governor over Desantis to me.
It actually doesn’t look like that. It has to do with DeSantis’ presidential run.
I don’t live in FL, but if I did, I would vote DeSantis over Crist. However, the purchase and use of electric buses or anything ‘green’ raises a red flag for me. imho, at this point in time, and with the condition of our country, we are unable to exist using green energy to the exclusion of gas, coal, etc.
Additionally, the fact that the GOPe is beginning to court and shine a spotlight on DeSantis gives me pause. I’ll *never* trust the GOPe. Although I’m all-in PDJT, I’ll not bash DeSantis. I’ll keep an eye out and reserve judgement. That’s fair.
No one is talking about his role as governor, its him as POTUS we don’t want!
Back in the 1980s Reagan advised us to “Trust but verify.” That may have been sufficient in the BC (Before Clinton) era. Since then, and especially since Obama/
BidenBrandon, it is definitely not. Now it is prudent to verify before even giving a smidgen of trust. I’ve been burned too many times in the past believing that someone described as an up-and-comer is the real deal but turns out to be a GOPe weasel. I’m in your camp. I consider DeSantis to be a possible contender somewhere down the line. We’re going to have to choose somebody besides Donald Trump someday. I still need more data before I believe he is a logical successor to Trump or write him off as another poser. Let’s continue to observe him as FL governor for another term, gather some additional data and see where it goes from there. In the meantime, I still like Devin Nunes to run as VP with Trump in 2024. Make it a high-profile position so he gets the opportunity to appear “presidential.” If that works, Nunes can run in 2028. If DeSantis pans out, give him a cabinet position in ’28 in the Nunes administration. DeSantis would only be 58 were he to run in 2036.
Didn’t purchase the buses, it’s part of the lawsuit $$$ against VW. The counties and school boards are the ones getting the benefits.
Maybe Little Ronnie should stay in FLORIDA and govern the actual state for a change. How’s Crescent City doing these days? What about Jerome? Is all of Florida in such great shape that Little Ronnie can jet around the country?
Political S.N.A.K.E. following the money.
(Seeing Nothing, but Actually Knowing Everything)
Ron has sold his soul. Too bad but so true.
Geeeez…did the C’Turd put out an all points bulletin, and send all these new posters here with their comments that “tell me you’re a DeSantis bot without telling me”. Overrun today (and yesterday).
Thank you, Sundance, for explaining so clearly.
This old, “falling into dementia but fighting it every step of the way” Grammy appreciates it.
What is the name of the manufacturer(s) of the electric busses?
What is the name of the company that owns and operates the e-charging stations?
Who is selling them or the state electricity?
What are the names of the investors of those three?
Did Hochul buy electric busses for NY’s cities?
Any Cayre’s listed?
Not a fan of DeSantis, but he made the right decision to pull out of that fundraiser even if it was for the wrong reason.
Zeldin is a neocon subversive in the mold of Mike Pompeo, and thus him winning this election could do more harm than good for the MAGA movement.
DeSantis is a real social butterfly now, I see. He’s acting like the de facto leader of the GOP party, even though Trump is still the man.
Do his handlers think we’re stupid?
lol @ “The Best Governor in America”
Didn’t mean to offend you, Governor Newsom 🙂
Hopefully soon you will see DeSantis for what he really is.
Oh dear! This looks really bad! Especially using the death of someone who died in the line of duty!
.
Nauseating. That’s a wrap, Sundance.

Pro-DeSantis group says FEC trying to stifle 2024 draft effort August 29, 2022
“Ready for Ron,” a political action committee eager for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to run for president, said today that the Federal Election Commission is attempting to stifle its effort to nudge the GOP superstar into the 2024 race.

We should start one for Trump called “DESPERATE FOR DONALD” 🙂
Those busses cost $299,559 EACH?
How much $$,$$$$ to replace the batteries in 10 years?
Where do will the toxic-waste-batteries end up?
How much will those toxic-battery-landfills cost?
Did you see the conversation here or any other info about how much it costs to replace EV car batteries after 7-10 years or 100k miles? It’s like $30k. One article I read suggested just buying a new EV. So now EV cars are becoming disposable, with a very limited lifetime. I can only imagine how much the bus batteries cost, or what limited lifetime they have. Imagine how many miles a bus accumulates in a year.
Regarding cars … if you buy a new gas-powered car and for whatever reason want to switch to something else when your car is 7-10 years old or has 100k miles on it, if it’s still in decent shape and was maintained properly there is likely to be another person who will want it. So the car doesn’t end up on the trash heap.
Imagine a 7-10 year old or 100k electric or hybrid car, who wants to pay $30k to make it driveable? How can that car ever be resold?
The landfills will cost an arm, a leg, all your money and more.
I worked in the trash and recycling world. A lot of good people work there but it’s also very corporate and the EPA will salivate about added importance overseeing the landfills.
The money will flow.
The approach is not hard in assessing any political figure, whether it be DeSantis, Trump, etc.
That is, not hard to understand:
“Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.” (Psalm 146:3)
And yet our sinful nature does just that: it fashions idols, above all, one’s self. And boy does it hate being called out on it! It would rather just deify a chosen politician, foolishly believe they are incapable of corruption–incapable of being unduly influenced, manipulated, intimidated, coerced, controlled, bought, sold. “In so-and-so we trust!” Great. All is settled. All is in good hands. Now let’s get back to that fishing trip in Northern Manitoba. Let’s get back to working on that golf handicap.
Point being: Scrutinize every politician daily. This applies to Trump no less than DeSantis. Reagan said “Trust but verify.” I’d go one step further and just say, “Verify. Regularly. Vigilantly.” Recognize they are not only fallible, but also are corruptible. You might have one that is relatively “trustworthy” as a state senator or as a state governor, but in aspiring for a “higher office” and in trying to propel themselves upwards to attain it (with the need of aid from…ahem…donors), suddenly yet subtly starts to develop cracks in the armor of virtues and corruptive decay gradually sets in.
Tolkien knew this well. Even Frodo fell to the corruptive power of the One Ring eventually.
Is DeSantis another shifty Ted Cruz? Is he the sneaky pick of the GOPe to deceive and placate Trump supporters who will be furious if/when Trump is unjustly and unlawfully banned from running again? It’s hard to say with absolute certainty at this point. I hope not. And ultimately only God can perfectly see and judge the hearts of men. But they are corruptible. Am I asserting it is probable with DeSantis? No. But am I asserting it is possible and we best be on our guard and keep a watchful eye? Yes. If you don’t think it is possible then you’re part of the problem–you have disregarded the wisdom of God which tells us:
“Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.” (Psalm 146:3)
I love my Gov, but am puzzled over this purchase. He’s great on the environment, such as the Everglades and coastal waters, but he needs to stay away from this BS. I’ve never considered Florida to have polluted air.
DeSantis is the best option for Governor of Florida. I hope he wins. But I’d equally say that at this point, I have increasing reservations about him running for President and have my doubts he would be the reformer we desperately need in the White House. I fear he would play too nice. The GOPe is currently courting him for a reason. Our country needs fundamental reformation. This is not the time for nice. Keep DeSantis on the state level.
I think DeSantis should remain governor of Florida and let DJT take a second shot at saving the republic. If DeSantis doesn’t fall under the thumb of the globalists in the ensuing four years then he would have a clear shot for POTUS.
DeSantis looks to be, more and more, like a plant.
Boy. I would not like to have Sundance for an enemy. LOL
Does DeSantis ever give the public an opportunity to talk to him? Gotta ask him about the lifespans of the buses, how much it costs to replace the batteries and when does that typically happen, is the infrastructure to charge them in place already, what’s going to happen to the old buses, etc. The EV-pushers just looooove to tell you how great EVs are but they never talk about the ugly details. Also ask him if he or any of his friends will benefit financially from the switch to EV.
If he took 400 grand from someone running against Zeldin…well that is pretty effed up. Initially, I thought this was a case of his wife coming out of remission, but it was completely something else. DeSantis needs to stop crisscrossing the country. It’s becoming so transparent now. He’s got more than enough money to win re-election.
I thought this was a case of his wife coming out of remission
I think his excuse was deliberately worded to give that impression! I was afraid something happened to his kid.
DeSantis is not who people hope and believe he is — he is part of the establishment. But he is useful as a means of identifying which “conservative influencers” are controlled opposition, or just not bright enough to take seriously.
In this case he didn’t…he cancelled Zeldin for money,,from someone giving to Zeldin’s Dem competitor..come on, man…
Why is he meeting with a billionaire donor who gave $400,000 to Hochul?
Maybe because he knows him for when he lived in Florida for twenty years or because he has spent huge money in development in Miami. Maybe the realestate developer wanted to meet with him…..seems like a big nothing
Why am I feeling that DeSantis is not quite what I think him to be….?
Two thoughts…
Ron is part of the RINO club and has been promised to either retain his governorship in return for dividing the GOPe and MAGA supporters fr 2024. Reward is $$$$ and Presidential candidate backing.
Ron is a lamb being led to his own slaughter. Dominion machines may be manipulated to sub Christ in for the win in Florida. Ron’s future is finished and so is MAGA.
Apologies for not picking up the autocorrect. Crist.
What a dirtbag. I live in Florida. I would like to see more focus on insurances, utilities, taxes, our homeless population, mental illness, helping our vets, elderly and making school about reading, writing and arithmetic. I’m really disappointed in DeSantis. He could have done so much good.
I don’t think Desantis will run if Trump runs. I do think that Garland will indict Trump and try to use a corrupt DC jury (it’s what commies do) though. In the end Trump will win even if it takes the SC stepping in. What concerns me most with Desantis as a future president is his position on trade, needless wars and China.
I will still vote for Ron for FL Gov, but in no way would i support him for President, especially if Trump is running. We see you Ron, and now we know you can be bought.
Suit filed for election fraud in FL, which DeSantis is out being Deep State. It’s all coming down around him.
What happened you ask?
Well people, DeSantis has been exposed as nothing but a RINO. Yeah a bad word. But he is one. He is replacing diszzy lizzy as the encased rino to be removed from Florida. Under the guise of liberty, the draw of money hooked this now transformed dwarf, compared to Trump, to a Smaug lover. Ahh, the smell of gold could not dissuade him from his perfect picture family reading stories at night. Oh I don’t think they were reading Das kapital, nah. Likely, bleak house by Dickens. While the millionaire just donated to madam DeFarge in NY.
The guy is, as President Trump would say: a Looooser.
I’m going to quit reading anything Sundance posts about DeSantis until AFTER the Nov election. Do you really want Crist as gov of FL? This is insane!
You’re missing the point about presidential run.
And if hegets money from dem donors, sorry, he is tainted.
Nobody wants Crist as Governor of Florida. The complaints about DeSantis pertain to his presidential run, which he is currently engaged in even though it’s not yet officially announced. He’s raking in massive donations to his FL Governor campaign which he will then convert over to his presidential campaign even though he’s not supposed to do that.
https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/05/politics/ron-desantis-campaign-finance-2024-election/index.html
And if DeSantis campaigns for Zeldin at a later date, then this becomes a non-story.
I think you missed the point….
Swampier and swampier!
The special master bullshit is exactly what it is BULLSHIT. The list is full of anti-Trumpers.
THREE DOLLAR BILL written all across his back.
DeSantis has to be one of the slipperiest ones to come down the pike in a long, long time.
He’s in Bill Clinton’s League.
No wonder Mitch & Mitt love him.
Funny how it JUST utterly FAILS to be the Least bit Surprising. IT’s just so very “NATURAL” and has a Certain Flow…
It’s So Feng Shui… Slow and Easy, Relaxed…
More bad news for the neo-village idiot.
The best case scenario for break even on the cost of an electric bus vs ICE bus is 20 years. The battery lifetime on a bus battery is best case 20 years.
https://pagetwo.completecolorado.com/2022/08/26/gaines-a-reality-check-on-electric-school-buses/
In my opinion there are three outcomes to our present situation.
The most likely is that the utopian statists take away our freedoms and liberties without a fight due to the apathy or the grift of the majority.
The second most likely outcome is that the humiliation reaches a point where people start to rebel. One of the main problems with this solution is that we have very few leaders on our side and we don’t march in lockstep like the utopian statists do.
The third and least likely outcome is that we vote our way out of this mess. This is extremely difficult due to the imbedded corruption in the system.
That said, as a father and grandfather, I am going to do everything in my power to use option three until no other recourse is left.
My representative, Issa, is a bigtime RINO in my opinion. He “retired” when the going got tough in his old district (which now has an insufferable leftwing loon) and then resurfaced in my district. But until there is a better option, I am going to vote for him, if he is the least sleazy option on my ballot.
We need to overwhelm these RINOs with MAGA candidates until they become meaningless and can finally be replaced.
I am originally from Pennsylvania, so as much as I don’t feel that Dr. Oz is the best we can do, look at the oher option, Fetterman. We need to support Dr. Oz for now.
We can replace him later…one election at a time.
so as much as I don’t feel that Dr. Oz is the best we can do, look at the oher option, Fetterman. We need to support Dr. Oz for now.
YES! This is exactly how we all need to vote! Even if your preferred person doesn’t win the GOP nomination, vote for that person in the general election because letting a Dem have the seat is so much worse. And when it comes to Congress it’s doubly-worse because it’s not just a seat, it contributes to a majority too. Dem majorities are hell. Nothing good comes from them. Non-stop misery.
Hopefully everyone on here can derail Desantis so Charlie Crist can win, we will be better off.
Nobody wants Crist to win.
This is a perfect example of voting strategically. Even though I now intensely dislike DeSantis and think he’s a MAGA fraud (after he posed as MAGA to win his Governor seat), I would still vote for him to be re-elected Florida Governor because Crist would be so much worse. And although I will never vote for DeSantis in a GOP presidential primary, if he wins the GOP nomination I’ll vote for him in the general election because a Dem President would be so much worse. This is how we should all be voting. Try to get the best person the GOP nomination, but vote for the GOP candidate even if it’s not the person you wanted, because Dems are worse. Dems are poopoo (trying to keep it clean here).
Put the pipe down.
Remember when DeSantis was at those rallies in NM, AZ, PA, and OH that were purportedly to help candidates in those states? How odd is it that he had those rallies right after the people won their primaries but months before the general elections? Was it really about those candidates, or was it just another ploy to put him in the vicinity of big-$$$ GOPE donors?
OMG we are not stupid! DeSantis’ handlers must think we are, and I take offense.
“Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a leading investment in clean energy for Florida today with a $68 million award for 227 electric transit buses, and an unknown secondary distribution from the Dept of Environmental Protection for 218 electric school buses.”
——-
Damn, isn’t bad-ass Redrum DeathSanguination [h/t Ace over at AoSHQ] supposed to be eliminating #Woke bullsh*t entities like the “Dept of Environmental Protection”, its wasteful spending & resources, and firing every last tool there working on behalf of the GloboHomo International Marxist Death Cult?
this is why Desantis cannot be POTUS. Beholden’ to swamp & elites money.
Cultural MAGA will be worse than Cultural Marxism
“… beholden …” is the key word … just as the country is now run by Soros/Obama America destroying evil … DeSantis will be controlled by LEGAL-American hating Chamber of Commerce evil.
Actually, I found the connection between Soros & DeSantis, his Press Guru, Christina Pushaw.
https://t.me/MKDeSantis/3
You don’t know him. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Ron DeSantis, someone I’ve known for the past twelve years, is a very honest patriot. He’s not beholden to anyone. If you have proof, then tell us. If not, just don’t bother us with your lies.
Why did he start mimicking Trump’s hand gestures? What kind of man mimics another man’s hand gestures?
His foreign policy is a HUGE unknown at this time.
Why is he IGNORING the voter fraud that is proven rampant in his state? He made am ambarrasssing dog and pony show our of “arresting 20 felons” forhaving votged, but they were told by FL election officials that they were allowed.
Also, his “election Crimes” unit has ERIC – a proven addition to the fraudulent roll — in the budget. He ALSO has been given names of citizens who have provided the findings – FACTS ALL — as “disinformation”! Lots of epople need a hero, I get it, but this man has changed. He is NOT what he seems. He is in with the RINO’s at best.
Also, Big private July fundraiser in UTAH with big UT money. Think Romney.
Shall I go on?
You need proof? Start here…
https://t.me/MKDeSantis
Ron looks like a Cabbage Patch Doll in that pic, just sayin.
Better hurry up and get the date on the books, only two months left, ya know Ron being so busy and all jet setting about. Schmoozing is hard work.
So many new people gleefully jumping on the “burn the witch” wagon. Let me guess, Soros pays well.
Say hello to your new Governor Crist, my fellow treepers. DNC appreciates your efforts and commends your attitude. Way to go. Don’t change your mind, please. Share your revelations with everyone, make sure to expose DeSantis so he will get less votes and hopefully lose. That will show him.
This site now reminds me of some other “conservative” gatekeepers’ websites during 2016 primaries when the same vitriol was being splashed around in copious amounts and the similar “well-documented” facts about Trump being a DNC Trojan horse were presented almost daily. Deja vu.
DeSantis threw the 2022 Election. He did less than nothing on the Black Plastic Contraptions From hell. The Republican’t ‘Stablishment wants to punish Floridians for donating to President Trump and his endorsements.
Yes, many of us begged him to ask county Supes of Elections to do audits. No response.
Yep.
Thank you! There is massive fraud in the state, and he is covering it all up it seems. Lake County is especially bad. Hayes has turned in the names of people who have brought strong evidence of the bloated rolls, as spreading “disinformation” That’s Stasi stuff!
He still uses ERIC, a system proven to add ineligible names to the rolls, and his “election crimes” unit is a laugher.
You remind me of concern trolls on the Gateway Pundit.
Wrong… I’ll vote for him for gov, and hope he wins. I hope he will choose the patriots path thereafter.
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
Thank you for exposing these traitors! However, I place much blame on Sundance. I really want to know who SUNDANCE Why the secret? Why are you allowed to openly propagate lies, your own made-up ideas without giving us information on who you are and what you do?
Please patriots: Go to
https://conservativebrief.com/strikes-66050/
for the truth. I will no longer read The Conservative Tree House. And I want to know exactly who Sundance really is! Another Drudge?.
Oh… we have a hater. Sundance has been a reliable source of info long before you came along and long after you’ll scoot on out of here.
I notice you haters never dispute the facts, you just slander people. It’s so predictable.
DeSantis is bad news, really bad news in a GW Bush way.
https://t.me/MKDeSantis
DeSantis himnself is planning his demise. He has allowed BLATANT voter fraud to run rampant in the state, budgets for the one system that is proven to bloat the voter rolls with ineligible names, and has his SOE’s attack those who bring proof.
Name the last good Republican Governor?
DeSantis fits right in with the rest of the scumbags we have had, which included Republican Charlie Crist.
You might not be old enough to remember Governor Crist. 🤣
DeSantis has done little to nothing to change Florida from what it was before he became governor. Same crooked voting machines, same pedophile problems, same bad schools run by Leftists, same Big Corps running the show.
But he did bring us Bill Gates’ latest Mosquito Experiment. Didn’t work out so well in Brazil but I’m sure we won’t have problems here. Gates is so trustworthy. 😏
