This reminds me of back in my high school and college days. When I was younger and had to give a speech in front of the class I used to do my best to avoid being called on. The anticipation was terrifying. As I got older I realized it was much much better to not only present earlier, but to volunteer to go FIRST. By not voting the only thing we would be doing is hiding from the inevitable, while having no control over the situation, trying to avoid what is coming no matter what. Just like avoiding presenting in school. By voting we have some sort of control over the situation, similar to volunteering to speak first. Give yourself some control over the situation even though you don’t like being in that situation.

IOW, the Democrats solicited something they could use to pretend this was a big deal, when it actually was nothing. Sample story, from the NY Post on 2-8-22:

Trump of course had and still has the security clearance required to possess and use Classified Data.
