A Texas jury has delivered a financial verdict against Alex Jones, awarding two parents of the Sandy Hook elementary school victim, 4.1 million in compensatory damages and $45.2 million in punitive damages. However, Texas limits punitive damages at $750,000. The verdict comes after a civil lawsuit against Alex Jones for defamation relating to his comments around the Sandy Hook school shooting, and his claims of a hoax.
During the trial Mr. Jones admitted his statements were false and accepted the events were horrific, resulting in the deaths of 26 students and teachers in the 2012 Newtown, Connecticut attack. Mr Jones and his media company, Free Speech Systems, were sued his false statements about the mass shooting.

I did not follow the trial, but I’m assuming this is a tough verdict for Alex Jones. It will likely have a chilling effect for his organization.

Alex Jones is “out there” in his rhetoric, but as a conservative spark plug, he is not treated like, say, Trevor Noah, John Stewart, of AOC might be treated.

Jones was not “charged”. He was sued for what is common law tort of defamation, though I’m sure Texas has specific civil code for defamation.
So same logic and ruling should apply in Trump’s favor with his law suits to all media agencies over ‘Russia collusion hoax’. But of course our corrupt system will never let the cases have standing.

Anyone not sheep waiting to be sheared could watch the numerous videos of almost undeniable crisis acting after Sandy Hook and question the authenticity of what really went on. I don’t know the truth any more than the government would be willing to reveal it. I do know that whatever transpired has nothing to do with the establishment assault against AJ–he is the original gadfly to the Trojan horse of their decades long deception and they hate him. Once too fringe to be noticed, they know he speaks too much truth, whatever really happened at Sandy Hook. Jones is an American hero, and the swamp finally corralled him. That was a hell of a thing. The details of the case are even more ugly. First of all, Jones retracted his claims LONG, LONG ago. This suit should never have happened. But during the trial, the judge absolutely prevented any admission of evidence to the contrary of the plaintiff’s case.
But in a way, this is pretty good. It sets a kind of precedent about the kind of rewards Trump can expect from the countless media outlets out there.
