Hey listen to this. I went to an auction today in Amish country. Lots of people there, mostly Amish. I saw only two people wearing face masks and they were both English. They both looked sick. Like long term sick. Like they never ever took care of themselves.
One of the guys was way overweight and when he sat on the bleacher bench it was like a load of bricks. Both men looked like they piss on their masks as a matter of procedure before they wear them. Yep death, disability and illness all around.
As for the Amish they all looked healthy as usual. Most of the guys could probably bend a steel beam on their off days.

I’m near an Amish settlement and have done business/made friends with an extended family of carpenters. Father with 3 teenage sons and his brother owns a sawmill. They built a 30’x40′ pole barn garage in 2 1/2 days – quality, speed and price – I got all 3!

People aren’t just randomly getting their accounts, savings, wages increased to keep up with inflation.
The drop in the debt’s real value means nothing to people who still have the same amount of dollars, the same salary, and whose savings are losing real value at the same rate as the debt.
If I have 10 bucks a month and my mortgage is 2, everything stays the same whether that 2 buys a car or only a banana now. I still have to spend the same % of my income on that debt.
And even if one does get a raise, it’s eaten up by inflation; so you want people to be happy that they can no longer improve their wealth bracket/disposable income , because oh gosh, you got lucky to stay right where you were already??? That’s leftist fantasy bull crap.
That’s not to even mention the reality that everything else is more expensive so even if you got a huge raise, you aren’t going to improve your purchasing power , due to the raging inflation.

I do know very well that cost-of-living adjustments in salaries lag inflation, by months or years.
What I was saying, though, is that as I am experiencing inflation, I find that even when we do have a little extra money the mortgage never makes it to the top of the priority list.

They claim people’s wages increased a good amount, but not that much. And if you are living on Social Security, you did get a 5.9% COLA. Maybe you’ll get this year’s inflation in 2023.
The whole point of inflation is to rob us.
That 5.9% COLA that SS recipients got was completely consumed by increased premiums for Medicare, Medicare Supplements, RX insurance. I’ve already made a little penciled chart for this coming January so that the amounts can be filled in as they become known:
