Need to add that since Social Security and Medicare are now mixed into the same Federal Fund pot, those checks are now EACH $200+ less because of Government Charges Medicare Premium Costs that are deducted before the Social Security Checks are written (cut). It is a cute cash flow scam the US Government runs to cover the insolvency of both funds thanks to Congress “borrowing” from both funds as well as legislating new pay-out categories the funds were never meant to cover.
Plus, The Governments Part of Medicare costs (deducted from the SS Checks) are rising at a Stately 10-15% + per year. As a reference, most retirement models set “Historical” medical inflation at between 4.9% to 6%. This does not include any supplemental insurance a person can afford to hold down out of pocket costs and co-pays, who’s costs raise at that 5-6% per year.
Then if a retiree has been industrious with their savings or works, they risk having 50-85% of their Social Security Check TAXED as INCOME. That’s right a tax on a tax .. on a pay out of a fund created by a wage tax on the tax payer’s past income that was supposed to be a tax free savings account.
