I think DeSantis should just wait til 2028. The VP position doesn’t have nearly as much for him to do as the Florida Governor position. VP should be someone supportive, but also someone willing to take a back seat to Trump.

New York Times is reporting that Trump will announce his candidacy “unusually early” for 2024. I figured he was going to wait for the mid-terms to see if the GOP gets the House and Senate majorities.
