Texas Dept of Public Safety (DPS) Official Lt. Chris Olivarez was asked why law enforcement retreated and waited an hour before reengaging the Uvalde elementary school shooter. In his response to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, after an initial few minutes of obfuscation, eventually Lt. Olivarez explains the responding officers could have been shot, if they immediately rushed the gunman.
{Direct Rumble Link} – WATCH:
I mistakenly thought the main lesson from the investigation of the Broward County, Florida, Parkland school shooting was never to wait. Unfortunately, it looks like Parkland and Uvalde will have a lot in common.

Cowards.
Protect- (their own worthless ass)
&
Serve – (donuts)
And these are the people who want to take our guns and will protect us from the illegals?
Pension collectors. Unearned …. Pension collecting. Then retire at age 50 … and go collect more pension. Triple dip.
These “men” are dippers.
More like dipshitz…
The way he slipped in the fact that an officer was injured in an effort to justify dereliction of duty is despicable.
We wouldn’t be shocked when these thing happen if we keep in mind who the political animals ,like this guy , are In leadership positions in law enforcement.
Sorry to say they are rotten from the top down.
I hope you and I never get in a position where We need their help.
I have never called 911 in my life.
I did, here in Austin…and was put on hold.
Ironic you should say that about being put on hold. Years ago I had a recurring nightmare that involved calling 911 and being put on hold…
If you find yourself in Atlanta needing emergency assistance from the public servants via calling 911, you are almost guaranteed to hear “You have reached the city of Atlanta 911. Your call is very important to us. Please do not hang up. The next available operator will answer your call.”

100%
I can’t wait to hear what David Clarke and Grady Judd have to say about this. It ain’t gonna be pretty.
Could have been shot.
So?
Unbelievable! The possibility of getting shot comes with the job.
Do they not have body armor and M-16s in the trunk of the car? Stun grenades?
Four cops in body armor storming the terrorist in a close single file with all rifles or shotguns pointed forward would have ended this. The guy in front may take a bullet but the other three would make short work of the terrorist.
And just imagine THIS FACT for a moment … the assembled police are listening to gunshot after gunshot as this mental patient slaughters one small child at a time. Sitting there listening to gunshots and screams … and doing …. NOTHING!!!!!
Paid leave and nightmares.
Might be a couple suicides after this.
Suicide should be in quotes.
oh well.
They had to count the shots to know when to go in..
Yeah, I think that’s the worst. How?! Whatever happened to adrenaline? Testosterone? Estrogen?
The avaiable videos show a lot of them doing crowd control with slung AR15s, M16s, or some variety, yet they were waiting for backup? Seems like equipment was there, apparently the will was not. Sad.
And they weren’t carrying rifles? This close to the border? Dozens and dozens of police standing around with no rifles? Bienvenidos coyotes … Bienvenidos cartel!
and … I’m no tactical genius … but with THIS many police officers standing around … couldn’t they employ a flanking maneuver? And what about the gunman’s blind spots? There are no solid walls on this classroom? It’s 360 deg. glass?
Cowards … AND … stupid!!
Really pathetic and disgusting. Better to let the unarmed kids get shot then to take a chance on any armed and armored cops getting shot, right? /s
Cowards.
Imagine a fire chief explaining his firemen didn’t enter the building ” because they might of been burned.”😵
This is why I always cheer the firemen in the old movies when they fight. Firefighters aren’t cowards.
Oh. Well. That’s ok then. Why not let the parents in to take care of it?
Get out of the way.
It’s understandable that with an active shooter you don’t want civilians rushing in and getting shot by the gunman or officers.
Once he was isolated other officers can perform evac
What I want to see is a diagram of the classroom and where the “breachers” were.
Of course. Perhaps they were waiting to negotiate.
I don’t know. We haven’t heard from them yet but it doesn’t look good.
It will be their punishment to live with the results of their inaction.
My guess is the parents who waited outside will suffer much more questioning if they could have done more.
Not enough.
Name and shame.
Prosecute.
LOL- you think they could care less? You are living in a DREAM WORLD
What is it that you think they could say that would justify their actions well in action? Nobody, with the exception of the shooter, inside that school was armed. Nobody except possibly the shooter had body armor. Every single officer was armed. Every officer had some level of body armor. Without exception every time all the time, you go in. No hesitation, no delay. Advance on the shooter and stop him. Always every time. That’s the job. If you are not willing to do that, find a new job.
They were on the phone with their financial advisors checking in on their pensions and investments to see if they were still on track to retire at 50.
If not then they’d bilk the taxpayer with exorbitant OT in year 49 to ‘make up the FJB shortfall’.
COWARDLY SCUMBAGS!
They were waiting for the donuts to arrive! Break time.
doughnuts
Sorry, I was raised this way.
Thing is, if the police had attacked the shooter immediately instead of waiting, at the very least the shooter would have been engaging them instead of killing children. I’m guessing if the police had not waited, they would have had no trouble with the parents.
This.
So true Pyrran.
Instead the coward cops wait outside and let the creep shoot tiny, little kids.
That is their explanation?
No doubt. You stack 3-4 guys and get after it.
That’s who I want to hear from and see laid out.
Who was at, what should have been, the point of attack.
Any LEO should know after Parkland, you don’t even wait for the stack. Get after it.
That’s exactly the training they go through (I did). The first two cops that show up – doesn’t matter the department because you’ve all had the same training – enter the building using whatever means necessary. Move to the sound of gunfire and do something. As Pyrran stated – if nothing else, the killer takes his attention from killing innocents and tries to kill you. That’s the job and if you can’t accept the responsibility and all that comes with it, leave.
That was probably the rationale.
However, the entire incident was improperly handled from start to finish. It is baffling that between the local officers, the US Marshals, the Border Patrol, and whatever other agencies showed up whoever became Incident Commander offered such poor leadership and failed to coordinate an immediate response. The multi-agency response was probably part of the problem.
Hey now!
They were busy handcuffing, rough-housing and pepper-spraying the parents of children who were being murdered only a stones throw away.
No it was “Mission Accomplished” – all about giving Biden/Dems a “Gun Control” issue– just give the Psycho an extra hour to butcher the children to make sure — anyone not getting this is stupid.
Let’s see if the onsite Incident Commander was an overweight lesbian affirmative action hire and if so will not be held accountable. . . simply needs more training, blah, blah, blah.
I wonder if the shooter was the kid of a cartel honcho.
The cartels have ALL LE compromised on the border, ands its been that way for a long time.
Cartels run Austin, Phoenix and Albuquerque, and it’s been that way for a long time..
It is not understandable to me
How did they know he was isolated if they wouldn’t go in?
If they knew where he was isolated they could have indeed evacuated the others, but they didn’t.
If they knew where he was they could have confidently kept him pinned down and owned the entire remainder of the school, but they only owned the parking lot where they beat up and threatened parents.
Yet one civilian did and saved her own two children.
Gunman knew his deal was done with the cops outside. So, he entered the school.
Do you really think he would exit the school with his hands up? The main question should be what prevented the cops from shooting him outside the building?
The rest of the story is pure cop cowardice and following the orders, something reminiscent of the Nazi era.
If the video I’ve seen on Twitter of him being outside the building is factual, those cops need to resign or spend a damn sight more time on the range.
If they could not hit him with the multiple rounds fired, they have no business picking up a weapon since who knows where the rounds were going.
But Doug, civilians were being shot – and killed. Those civilians were young children, and two teachers who were trying to protect those children as well as themselves.
Did you hear tonight that the husband of one of the dead teachers died today from a heart attack?
Someone already commented, on this thread or the previous one, that the police on the scene who were standing around outdoors as the shooting indoors progressed LISTENED TO a well armed, deranged attacker shooting and killing children who were TRAPPED indoors with the killer.
What kind of person is capable of hearing this mayhem and doing nothing to enter the zone and stop the shooter?
What kind of person is capable of forcibly denying parents a path to rescue their mortally endangered children?
Who ARE these people?
May every single law enforcement officer on the scene, who “held the line” AGAINST the agonized parents, never sleep another night in his or her life.
No its not understandable at all. If your child is getting shot at you dont sit outside like a weak ass pussy.
nope.
Parents must act, even if it means getting arrested or shot. There are no rules when it comes to protecting your children. If someone tries to stop you, mow them down.
One mother did. They initially handcuffed her. Then local police had them removed.
She went down the fence line. Scaled it and got her two daughters out.
Did not know that. That is a mama bear, a natural instinct. At least it once was.
Early reporting advised
2 of 3 responding officers went in and got their kids. Of course, I have not verified this on Snopes…
Wasn’t there a UFO landing on the roof as well? Geez Louise.. this story gets more convoluted by the moment..
You forgot the SARC tag when you said Scopes
Leftist shills, they are!
SNOPES
Any LEO involved in standing on the perimeter can suggest they had other LEO inside the building trying to get the shooter.
That they had enough time to handcuff this woman, release her, she had time to scale a fence and find her kids and get them out suggest the LEO’s in the building were very few. Or non-existent.
Did the teacher get a signed permission slip from “mama bear” for the early dismissal of her two kids?
Honestly, none of these stories make any sense. Why didn’t that teacher grab the other students and follow mama bear outside to safety?
Because it probably didn’t happen. The “Supermom” story sounds the fakest of fake to me. School was on lockdown. She’d have to have a key, plus know exactly where her kids were, plus not get shot “sprinting” over the fence to the building, nor shot once inside roaming around looking for her two kids out of 600 kids, plus what teacher huddled in their individual locked classrooms trying to keep the gunman out of their classroom is going to unlock for this “Supermom”. The story reeks.
Every parent knows where their kid is, and the layout of the school. Every good parent with eyes, anyhow. Parents are in the kids’ classroom frequently, for class trips, events, drop off or pickup, etc. Every parent knows their kids schedule, as mostly the kids are in the same classroom most of the day. This is an elementary school.
The part I don’t get is how this parent got a key. Many probably most schools in the South have an outside door in the classroom. But it’s usually locked. No school gives keys to parents. Unless this mother was a school employee or someone let her in, she in no way had a key. Not plausible.
Just like the rules for command at sea. The regulations are clear: there is nothing, including regulations and procedures, that relives the commanding officer of the responsibility of the safety of his crew.
I read they handcuffed a woman and tasered a man for wanting to go in the building
to rescue the children.
Disgusting.
Tell it to the Marines….
Cops are useless wastes of tax dollars. They do nothing for 20 years, and then you pay them a pension for another 40 years.
But, but . . . they protect school board members from being questioned, upset, or criticized.
And the City Council, they do a good job protecting them also.
Guess what happened to soldiers on the battlefield who tried that one on?
Comment deleted for language…
Disgusting.
I thought our taxpayer dollars went into training for these scenarios. Silly me.
Speaking of taxpayer dollars and training, a local church wanted to do an active shooter training a few weeks back, there was a requirement of attendance before the cops would teach the class. It was a community service program. I signed up for it, but it got cancelled. The church could not get enough people to sign up, it was free of charge, on a Saturday, and offered both a morning class and an afternoon class. I wonder how many people regret not being more interested?
Cowards all!!!!!
Seriously children are being murdered?
6 seconds is immediately. 60 minutes is a lifetime, especially for 2 adults and 19 children .
Plus if you are seriously bleeding, minutes can make the difference between life and death.
Especially kids.
Combat medics know.
And I am certain many of us have provided emergency medical assistance for bleeding patients without being able to get a pair of gloves or other protections from bloodborne pathogens, to save lives. I pray for our country.
I had to do mouth-to-mouth during a code in a tiny ER because the ambu bag on the crash cart was broken. Turned out he was prisoner who had slashed his wrists. That was over 40 years ago. Lovely.
He lived.
“A coward dies a thousand times before his death, but the valiant taste of death but once.It seems to me most strange that men should fear, seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come.”” -William Shakespeare. Julius Caesar
We are officially in the twilight zone.
Been there for a very long time. Started with Roe v Wade.
It looked like they were stopping parents (probably some armed) from going in. If the police aren’t going to help, they should at least just get out of the way. Cowards.
I can understand waiting for the super special tac truck with all the cool hardware to arrive along with the command center vehicle if it was a barricaded drug dealer or bank robber before stacking up and going in, but this is different. Obviously.
Not one hero to be found. Just a bunch of lazy fat pigs.
Yeah … they were waiting for Officer Rosewood to show up with the DDO-JSIOC mobile crime fighting command center? Where’s Axel Foley when you need him? Axel would have taken action
Exactly!
This is another reason why have lost all respect for cops and LEOs.
They are no longer there to protect and defend us.
In fact, they are more to be feared at this point.
It seems their biggest priorities are pizza, pension and paycheck.
What happened here was sickening and unnecessary.
Wonder if these cowards will face any consequences.
Never. The gubmint protects their own.
Yes, but I would expect the payback to come from somewhere besides the government in this case.
Very true Seneca, they are far far more trouble than they are worth in many cases now days.
Keelhauling is in order for these pollywogs.
You’re a police officer 60 miles from the Mexican border and you don’t have a rifle or body armor in the trunk of your squad car? You gotta wait for SWAT to come from San Antonio, 85 miles away????
Sleepy little border town. You’d think being alert and armed on a moment’s notice against an invasion of the size we have seen the past almost 15 months, would be part of a plan. Methinks the opposite is true. “Do the least you need to survive and to hades for the rest of you,” but that won’t fit on the side of a patrol car.
Barney Fife did a better job.
They bring more force to on-campus school board meetings than they do on-campus active shooters for a reason.. wakie wakie
And these cops were rougher on the parents than they were on the killer.
They let the 18 year old psycho run amok while they did not hesitate to taser or hand cuff parents who were freaking out in fear for the lives of their children.
What kind of “training” is given to these cowardly LEOs to do something like that.
Sit outside a school full of little ones while a killer shoots the place up an do nothing, but they do not hesitate to slap the frightened parents around.
Every one of these so-called police should be indicted and prosecuted as accessories to murder in the first degree. Life imprisonment without parole is what they deserve.
Winner, winner chicken dinner!
Public service now means the public serves them.
They need to be fired being incapable of performing their duties.
They are like astronauts who are afraid of heights.
They should be prosecuted.
Sundance exposed every detail of Parkland from the origins of the policies to the dereliction of duty of the LEOs. It was all forgotten, shoved under the rug. There is an inisidious, malignant, comsumptive illness in this country. All the “exposure” in the world will not cure it.
I believe the deputy at Parkland that hid from the shooter is in prison.
I seem to recall all charges were dropped and his pension restored.
The same thing Obama did to our troops is what has happened to our police.
OBiden Regime has successfully removed their will to engage for fear of being viewed as “Police Behaving Stupidly”. They run a real risk of being crucified as villains for doing their jobs and following the laws.
The Dims, for their own political gain, have abused the law enforcement every way possible. Their Communist tactics have weaken and made the country less safe.
At this point of real vulnerability, for our nation, the Dims and RINOs are going all in to remove our Constitutional rights. In the end, they can’t have their NWO without destroying our Country and the Constitution for which it was designed.
And some how the cops must choose men and women who are cowards at heart for their ranks.
What kind of a human being can stand outside of a building knowing it is full of small children and a killer is shooting the place up and not feel the need to get in their and take the guy out and try to save the little ones.
I am a female in her late 60s and my instincts are to help and protect those more fragile than me which are fewer and fewer as time goes by.
It takes a cold heart to stand out there and taser and hand cuff frightened parents while the killer is inside with tiny, helpless children.
Who and what type of human being does this city police look for when hiring?
Idiots and cowards?
Well.. if they all took poison death shots to keep their jobs instead of fighting back.. then they are definitely cowards. And idiots to boot. In fact, George Soros could be rebooting their brains as we speak.
.
Also, hiring and promoting for all the wrong affirmative action and crony reasons.
.
I wonder who else that terrible day were also afraid of being shot? Maybe the students teachers and administrators?
Ya, 10 year olds who do not have guns or any means to protect themselves.
Matthew, I’m thinking there are some very angry families in Uvalde tonight who
have many friends and relatives…
That’s where this is going if prosecutions aren’t announced soon.
Yet they allegedly ran in to get their own children. And allegedly the shooter lingered outside for 12 minutes. Why didn’t they drop him before he went into the building?
Guessing the false flag operatives told them to stand down.
If this turns out to have become, or been, a “stand-down orders” event, we need the name / names of who determined the response and who gave the orders.
And I’m not talking about accepting a scapegoat this time around.
.
Because, as Obama reminded: George Floyd. You must not kill a perp.
.
“You must not kill a perp.”
That is, unless they’re a wasp, then it’s OK.
.
Right. I stand corrected.
.
The “resource officer who engaged him” was a phantom – in other words, he did not exist – that was made up. That is how he got in – along with unlocked door.
A lot of this was made up. It just doesn’t pass the smell test.
These officers were the antithesis of a Hero! SHAME on them!!!
If you have the monopoly on security you better provide it.
Blue line coward scum
It’s important we don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. Dummycrats do that.
Too late, McConnell is already folding like a cheap suit to Schumer.
Sundance, this is dejavu
Shooter would be age of teens arrested in 2018. Plotting a school massacre for 2022.
If so, he was on their radar, like the others. He would’ve at least known those kids due to the small town and same age group.
https://www.kens5.com/article/news/crime/two-teens-arrested-in-mass-casualty-plot-in-2018-targeting-a-uvalde-middle-school/273-548565605
I posted this earlier on todays open thread.
did you all see this?
Columbine plot in Uvalde… Was this Ramos in 2018…
https://www.kens5.com/article/news/local/two-teens-arrested-after-planning-mass-casualty-event-for-uvalde-school/273-548565605
Did they know about him 4 years prior? Names not mentioned due to minor status, but it was 4 years ago and these perps were 13 and 14 at that time. Weird.
FTA “ One of our Morales Junior High students was experiencing a crisis. Upon rendering aid and support, the student revealed a future plan to conduct a school shooting in the year of 2022. With the type of detailed information that was revealed by the student to law enforcement and confirmed in their investigation, the student has been arrested and will not be returning to our school. Our school district has a strong partnership with our local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders.”

Ya, I did on page 2 open thread and a couple more. Lol. . It’s been posted over and over. .
I think it’s important, as well. I just keep thinking about that high dollar Daniel defense rifle.
So it was very clear to the Uvalde PD that they should have been prepared for this.
…and failed miserably.
Who was the 14-year old who was protected because of his age? Was he killed this week? Part of their plan was to kill at a school they attended at the time.
This clip cannot be lost once the so-called justice system we’re burdened with takes a look. Too many layers here to yet be peeled away.
Texas reputation goes down a notch. Maybe several notches.
Texas reputation tanked with their inability to hold our border.
I have to agree – -no Texas Rangers there – local police couldn’t handle it – terrible – btw looked it up , surprised to see 78% Hispanic population in 15, 000 population.
Anglos live primarily to the north. Try Utopia.
It’s less than an hour from the demarcation line between the U.S. and Mexico, so this is no surprise. (I use the word demarcation because we don’t have a border anymore).
If you lived in South Texas you wouldn’t blink at those demographics.
That would be about right for anything south of Austin.
The reconquista happened, it just hasn’t been announced, I guess.
Trump won Uvalde in 2020 with 60% of the vote.
San Antonio is over 75% Hispanic, also!
Terrible , He’s fired – blew it big time , so on his analysis – they were able to hold the death count to ‘just’ 19 civilians/ children and no officers , and the shooter was killed so he thinks it was a successful operation? . No amount of BS can remove this stink – actually similar to what the parkland coward said was reason he was hiding behind concrete wall – didn’t know where shooter was etc …
He is not a Uvalde police officer. Why is a Texas Dept. Of Public Safety spokesman speaking for the Uvalde Chief of Police who should be answering the questions. This occurred in the jurisdiction of the Uvalde police dept. They were supposed to be in charge. Has the Uvalde Chief of Police even spoken to the press? Has anyone from the Uvalde PD said a word publicly regarding this? Very strange.
True they needed a public relations spoke person for this mess , the police chief , whoever he is ,would really screw up even more probably , above his pay grade . Actually probably keeping a low profile from angry , be-grieved parents in this small, assuming close knit community ( 78% Hispanic) of 15,000
John “Rest In Peace” Ford this isn’t.
That seems odd.

The White House is refusing to call for an investigation into the police response in Uvalde…
So I guess now’s a good time to remind everyone that the FBI sent 15 agents to investigate a tiny pulley in Bubba Wallace’s garage. #priorities

Not really. All effort will now be put into indicting “the gun,” not the culprit, and not the police. It’s an election year, so it’s full court press time against guns…again. It’s so predictable it’s nauseating.
In that light, the rationale for a high-dollar rifle instead of a cheapo for his final blaze of glory comes into better focus.
They will prosecute that shiny rifle.
Lazy Fat Lying Pig Olivarez sounds like Kamala Harris told him what to say.
Word Salad Supreme
What good are they then? The parents were more courageous than the police. Such wusses. Why do I suspect there is more to this story. Who gave the stand down order?
Who ordered the Code Coward?
Someone needs to meme this.
According to this post, the law says that they are to put civilians above all else.

From the above cited Texas Active Shooter Training implemented 2020:
“A first responder unwilling to place the lives of the innocent above their own safety should consider another career field.”
It’s apparent that America doesn’t need “social workers”, “hall monitors” or “observers” protecting her youth. Enough is enough.
Parkland had Cruz, a kid with a strange past, and now Ramos fits the same bill. Both born on the outside and brought in, like two queer Lanza ducks walking Newtown style and nobody notices.
Maybe I been on this site too long but something doesn’t add up in that interview. I get a vibe he didn’t want to say that he had too.
I remember that “security guard” present during the Vegas massacre also lacked the requisite acting skills to pull it off.
First responders are normally portrayed as rushing into danger while civilians flee the scene … looks like the parents have more guts than those cowardly “police” they have there … those alleged cops need to go into a new line of work since they fear danger so much … perhaps they could sell ice cream at the local mall (in the morning hours when things are less tense at the mall).
Actually I still remember the pictures of the firemen going up the twin tower stairways on 9/11 and then the names posted outside the firehouses in midtown the next day or two ( and the bagpipe funerals at St Patricks for the next 3 weeks afterward ) – after all these years… courage there…
Plenty of LEOs died in those towers too. How quickly we forget. And their services filled the obituaries for the better part of a year- not weeks.
I almost look forward to Armageddon at this point. Not much here left to save.
Please , you do not have to remind me about 9/11 , I was there in the City that day midtown – around 350 firemen and 70 plus police of all types died as heros – I was referring to a specific memory – I was talking of funerals at St. Patrick’s in mid town on my way to work I would hear bagpipes -I don’t need an education from you ? BTW I received a distraught phone call that night from a co-worker of a person who was in the Tower with my first and last name and thought I was him – when discovered her mistake she became overwhelmed . 2 days later that poor guy was listed as among the presumed dead . Where were you . One other memory , friend /coworkers daughter work in Tower , was missing – first couple of days he went to all the Hospitals, hoping she was brought in , then next few days the morgues . Finally they told him to bring in her hairbrush for DNA , nothing . Eventually they determined she had been on floor that took direct hit on first plane …. So don’t tell me ….and keep your doomsday scenarios for yourself
BTW those were “DNA” obituaries you are referring to from bone fragments that had finally been identified weeks and months after 9/11 for the victims , but thanks for the reminder. Many were never even identified from a fragment as was the sad case of my coworkers daughter – among the “forever missing”
Last point , reason firemen were identified more quickly was their tough rubber overcoats with their names on them were identifiable even though bodies inside were crushed – need any more info ?
I am going to get hammered for this. But listen more carefully to what he is saying. There were 7 officers who entered in two different areas. They were evacuating children and trying to neutralize the killer at the same time. The killer locked the door (opened outward, I presume). Another thing, if they charged in, guns blazing, and accidentally killed more kids, who would you blame? I’m not saying everything was done correctly. But we need more information.
There is no way they can get a passing grade. The only question is how much did they flunk by.
i seriously don’t think they could have killed more ….he managed to do enough without any help … ( sad sarcasm )
Does not justify waiting an HOUR
A good Incident Commander would have established a point of contact for parents and other arriving civilians, made sure they went to that location, and stayed there.
I cannot think of any other incident similar to this where parents or other private citizens were allowed to wander up on an scene like this. It is dangerous for themselves, the victims, and the responders while also hampering the response (which appears to have been pitiful in any event.)
Whoever was in charge seems to have lost control over the scene, if he or she ever had it to begin with.
Not to mention a parent being handcuffed, freed from the handcuffs, scaling a fence and going in to get her own children out.
Yeah, no incident command at all.
Appears that no one was in charge. A real clusterfark. The Uvalde Chief of Police
and every supervisor should be fired. Pee poor training and supervision.
You don’t do both at the same time. You neutralize the threat, and it does not involve going in with guns blazing. You don’t shoot until you acquire a target.
Why was he outside of the building for twelve minutes first? No one took him out then. Why did it take a Border Patrol Agent to kill him?
There were enough LEO’s standing around such that there were plenty that should have been available for evac.
Competence would suggest specific teams to get the shooter, and anyone else to evac.
Mary, you’re correct. The video that’s been released is somewhat misleading. Some of it being labeled as parents wanting in when the shooter was still shooting is actually from long after. I know people that were there. The truth will come out.
After watching this, parents should be prepared to force entry to their school despite police presence.
Agree 100%. Parents who don’t heed this, organize amongst themselves and conduct preparedness drills for such an event, are negligent.
They’ll get participation trophies.
Someone needs to revoke his cowboy hat card.
Not worthy.
Did he also wear cowboy boots or western boots?
Some have the bull poo on the outside. Others have the bull poo on the inside.
Po-Po no mo, now deyz Poo-Poo.
I want to see the governor arrest and prosecute every single officer involved. I want them to never breathe free air again or see sunlight except from behind prison bars.
Do these people even listen to what they are saying, they contained him to one classroom basically to kill at will , if I was a parent I would sue and raise holy hell. The Parkland cop was held accountable until he wasn’t now he is a the new policie chief in Opa-Locka, FL. he is a Democrat so you know he gets to work again in law enforcement.
The action the police there took (or more like didn’t take) would have been appropriate for an unoccupied warehouse that the killer had retreated to.
Did they think the building was a warehouse with no one in it other than the killer, rather than a school with hundreds of kids in it?
Does it seem to you they are trying to push for a reaction from the community?
Who would go on tv and say they were scared cops might get shot…so they let the kids take the hits?
Just one classroom, no biggy…..you think those parents think it was no biggy, just the 4th graders…
They have underestimated the Latino community….or not?
.
They acted like it was a bank holdup or hostage situation, rather than a deranged kid shooter.
Also I echo the confusion of some here with regard to why they did not have protective equipment. How far away was it? The school that far from the police station in this little town?
.
Couldn’t have been. And why not have someone bring it, pronto.
One shooter.
No excuses, IMO.
He wrecked his truck in a police chase?…(at least that was reported early in that incident) got out…shot a bit…then went into school…
during the chase, cops were called, wreck, shooting for 12 minutes…no cops?
I bet if I was speeding through I’d find a cop in just a few minutes, probably half a dozen if I didn’t stop…
so, why wasn’t he stopped before entering school. ?
Not the plan?
All hat.
No cattle.
Definitely no cojones.
After 50 years in law enforcement, today was a crushing day for this profession. Some days are easy, other days you will have to earn you pay, that’s in the job description. I’ve been shot at 3 times and never even considered backing down. I earned my pay and went home to my family.
When seconds count, the Policy Enforcers and their highly skilled Caution Tape Installers are just an hour away. Defund our enemies
I live 40 miles from Uvalde. This community will never forgive…or forget!
Hey neighbor.
Im mad as h… and I didn’t lose a child. I don’t think this is over, do you?
Where the hell was the social worker that the lefties always want called in to ‘talk down’ the shooter?
Surely the police called one; They had an hour to do so.
I haven’t seen this mentioned around here yet:

Two Uvalde teens were recently arrested for Conspiracy to Commit Murder after officers said they foiled a mass-shooting plot the pair had schemed.
A press release obtained by KENS 5 thoroughly chronicles events leading up to an investigation performed by the Uvalde Police Department and the Texas Rangers.
In the press release, Uvalde Chief of Police Daniel Rodriguez said that a Morales Junior High School student, 14, [18 or 19 currently] and a former Morales student, 13, [17 or 18 currently] had specifically targeted numerous students in what they described as a plan to perform a “mass casualty event against the school…
Both students were reportedly evaluated by mental health services on April 19, when the investigation led officials to the pair. The older of the two was released on April 23 into his mother’s care.
On April 25, the pair were taken into custody again, and this time arrested for Conspiracy to Commit Murder.”
Might be nothing, might be another puzzle piece explaining the weird and evasive behaviors surrounding the LEO response.
So, are they cops or hair dressers?
Haberdashers.
How many of the wounded, who might have been saved, bled out and died while the police stood around outside and did nothing for over an hour? At some point, responsibility for the consequesnces is transfered from the person who shot them to those who had a duty to rescue but refused to perform that duty. He shot them. Law enforcement criminally let them die.
