The schools are charged with protecting the children. In this case, the school failed miserably! This is not a matter of restricting law abiding gun ownership. Do not count on police to rescue anyone from a situation involving an armed attacker. There are a few heroes out there and you may get lucky, but the most likely scenario is for them to wait until the perpetrator runs out of ammo then kill him and count bodies. Count on yourself and the handgun you carry and have trained with so you can operate it safely and effectively.
Lastly, for all those that think banning guns will solve this, drugs are also illegal. Working so well no one’s been able to get their hands on a joint for the last 50 years, right?

You just go in immediately and use your best judgment as to what is and what is not a target. The sound of the gunfire will tell you the way.
I’m sure most of us can tell the difference between a kid, a teacher and an active shooter in about 1 second.
It works even better when all the good guys with guns storming the place are all in uniform and trained to hit and not overshoot their targets.
First aid is always most effective when delivered early.
Taking out the shooter is job 1, but job 2 is getting first aid going ASAP.
Sitting around waiting for perfect knowledge of the situation is simply not a good strategy, it’s a war zone, and you need to treat it as such.
Is that a real cop? In the midst of an active shooter and he’s standing out in the open? Is this real? The parents look distressed, however the cops look VERY relaxed, not taking cover…NONE of the methods I experienced as a volunteer participant during local ‘active shooter’ role play with my local LEO’s…very suspicious.

How crazy is it that in order to be ‘allowed’ to risk your life in order to attempt to save your own children you first need to fight against those that claim that they protect and serve?
Who are they ‘protecting’ and who do they ‘serve’ at this point in too many locations in the US? Increasingly it looks like they protect and serve an illegitimate government that must increasingly steal elections, and/or ‘control’ who is on the ballot in order to stay in power, that’s who.

The single thing that terrifies me the most, as a responsible and trained gun owner, is a gun owner who knows nothing about the weapon s/he bears. Who just bought it and hopes for a miracle.
What panics politicians about AR-15’s is that is has value as a military weapon. Granted it does not have a full auto function but it does have the stopping power and semiautomatic rate of fire of a military weapon and is much tougher and more reliable than a sporting or hunting weapon and uses a standard military round. It has real value in a military situation like resisting a crack down against civilians after a coup has taken control of the government. The fact that they are so determined to remove them from civilians might tell us something of their real intent.

Ukraine wants artillery to fight the Russian invasion.
Artillery Usage.
Very roughly, artillery can inflict about 70% of the total damage on an enemy, depending on the quality and number of tubes you have.
Caliber. Larger calibers throw heavier shells that do more damage.
Range. The longer the range, the more things you can hit, and the farther away you are from stuff trying to hit you.
Accuracy. The more accurate your tubes, the fewer shots needed to take out a target.
Mobility. The more quickly you can move after firing reduces chances that enemy counter-battery fire will hit you.
Counter-Battery fire is trying to blow up enemy artillery. Many artillery units have counter-battery radar that track shells the enemy fires to pin point their firing location.
The 155mm artillery the U. S. is giving to Ukraine is fairly large caliber, out ranges almost all standard Russian tubes, is very mobile, and includes counter-battery radar. Roughly the same for European artillery provided.

The numbers exclude mortars, and lumps all other artillery types, like Multiple Launch Rocket Systems, together.

So, Russia has almost a five to one advantage. Plus, Russia has more larger caliber and longer ranged artillery.
Russia can not commit all its artillery against Ukraine, as Ukraine can against Russia. Russia has a long border to defend.
Ukraine’s artillery is older Soviet Union stuff. Ukraine, mostly, does not make the artillery shells needed, so they will eventually run out of ammunition.
The NATO commitment so far of maybe 200 quality artillery pieces will not win the war for Ukraine. They can make it very difficult for Russia to win, or to even make much more progress.
My general info comes from talking to artillery retirees when I worked as a defense contractor, plus Ukraine specific research. I’m not an artillery expert. I just want to understand the issue.
Also, Russian artillery pieces can be easily moved in place by rail or truck.
US pieces located an ocean away? Not so much.
Logistics play a far bigger role in battlefield success than most people realize.
Some U.S. 155mm artillery pieces are already being used in combat. All of the first 90 are reported as now in Ukraine.
The French DeGaulle truck mounted 155mm tube has already fired in combat. France only sent about a dozen or so.
The U.S. gun’s very accurate fire and longer range, particularly for rocket boosted rounds, will be very useful.
The U.S. Marine’s towed 155mm, with lots of titanium, is much lighter and easier to relocate.
Also, the fewer shells needed to eliminate a target reduces logistics requirements, or means more targets taken out faster.
Reality check . . . most of the weapons sent have not even been uncrated and are in storage waiting for the highest bidders. Ukraine has been a gun-running hub since the collapse of the Iron Curtain.

The Russian air sorties have dropped off. They are avoiding to lower altitudes where Stinger and other man portable AF missiles are most effective.

I think this is the way the narrative is going, there was no school resource officer in the school? Why? I think because it is a border town many (not all) were probably here illegally so no cops in the school. If you want to actually see Trump at a rally is it best to go to an overflow room (since I assume he comes by to wave to each) or be in with the general masses?
