Ray Liotta was a remarkably compelling actor for this era. According to multiple media reports, he died in his sleep last night at the age of 67. Liotta was filming a movie in the Dominican Republican at the time of his death.
Ray Liotta was best known for his performances in the movies Goodfellas, Cop Land and Field of Dreams. He was a very strong actor, a deliberate persona on camera, and kept a generally low profile in his private life. [Fox News Story Here]
RIP Ray.
The quintessential bad guy. His performance as FBI agent vs Hannibal Lecter was amazing.
“Is this Heaven”?
“Yeah, yeah…you can hit the curveball…”
(He was rarely a bad guy.)
Great in Goodfellas.
Great in Heartbreakers with Sigourney Weaver and Gene Hackman.
Field of Dreams.
Copland.
He was in a six episode TV show called “Smith” in which he played the leader of a group of bank robbers. It was great and a felt cheated that it was cut short.
They don’t make them like him anymore.
I loved that show! Didn’t he and Virginia Madsen make a great couple?
He took his canoli with him…
Sad.
Me thinks Ray drank a whole lot of that Red Wine, ate Great Food, lived free, and died fine.
wonder if it was the ‘jab’ ?
We are all wondering that. It would not be surprising if it was nor surprising if they suppress that information.
Just say NO!
Heavy chain-smoker for about 50 years, but you “wonder” if it was the jab?
No offense, but I don’t think you’re gonna get hired as an insurance actuary.
Great actor, always believable, but that much smoking can kill ANY tough guy.
What I read stated that he simply died in his sleep. No long battle with anything cancer/lung related. But a clot bearing off from somewhere . . . I’m speaking from experience. A close family member nearly died in the hospital from clotting (lungs) after her 2nd Pfizer. And the hospital told her it was from the vaccine.
This is a good point. People who die of lung cancer don’t just die in their sleep. It can be a long, drawn-out illness, followed by a quick downturn and death, but they don’t just unexpectedly die in their sleep like that. Smoking would have eventually killed him, but I don’t think that’s what this is. It smells like the clot shot.
well maybe but the lungs are not the only organ severely injured by smoking esp. over the long term.
I wonder if the smoking was part of the bad guy role playing he did in the movies. It does not mean he smoked heavily in his real life. Smoking is also not a guarantee of catching cancer. I quit 25 years ago after smoking for almost 25 years and my health improved rapidly after I quit. And I quit because I decided to quit and that was the end of it. I am older than Ray Liotta was. Cold turkey is the only way to quit. Once I lasted three weeks without a cigarette, I never even wanted one again. It can easily be done and nobody should need nicotine gum and all the other crap the quit smoking industry peddles.
I suspect the clot shot is more likely to have been related to his death, but anyone can die of anything a much younger age than Ray Liotta lived to be. Since his acting is the only thing I ever knew about him, I would say he did very well in his life. RIP
And cancer is not the only lung ailment that can kill. Does anyone know about COPD? Emphysema? Chronic bronchitis? The list goes on. And then there is the heart… And then is colon cancer. Smoking a factor? You betcha. There is a reason why one of the first questions a doctor asks is are you a smoker? How long? And maybe when did you quit? They aren’t nannies. They just know.
There is a reason why
Smoking affects the heart too, could have had the widowmaker in his sleep.
Not in his sleep.
Who are you running interference for, and why?
Question everything nowadays. To NOT do so makes one either a fool, or complicit.
Not necessarily. It depends on his genes and a host of other factors. One size fits all is not true of anything except that some day we will all die.
my mom smoked longer than 50 years and died from lung cancer. She had all kinds of ailments from smoking, including emphysema, but never dropped dead in her sleep.
My mom OTOH, a smoker, had a pulmonary embolism and did die in her sleep. She was in her mid 70s and it was years before these vaxs. It happens.
If Ray did get the vax, it certainly didn’t help and I love the guy but he he didn’t look healthy.
I’d venture, feeling safe in doing so, that no one here has the foggiest notion what caused his death. The shots have given some a facile fall back. But with zero proof. Just speculation.
Well, that clinches it. Liotta ABSOLUTELY could not have died in his sleep due to smoking. /s
We should give up medicine about the same time we admit we cannot solve crimes about which we know little.
You don’t ‘suddenly’ die from smoking for 50 years. Odd that no ’cause’ is given.
Ray’s fiancee Jacy is 46 (21 years younger than he was). He died happy!
You don’t die suddenly in your sleep from cancer. It was the injectable in all likelihood. It’s a common theme, dying suddenly in your sleep. Myocarditis has a tendency of ….stopping your heart unexpectedly.
When I hear dying in the sleep as a reason I think of sleep apnea, but these days the jab always comes as the first question.
There’s been a lot of people just “dying in their sleep”…it seems like it anyways. A woman at work, who was not that old (maybe 45-50) died in her sleep recently. She was working the day before and we came in next day and found out she had died the night before. She did not look unhealthy so i always suspected the jab.
Same here! Too many passing away in 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s. I have never seen deaths like this. Died in sleep from accidentally overdose or meds that are spiked? I don’t trust the feds, pharma, or Ins. Obamacare was overturned 3 times by Congress! Senators didn’t have the courage to fight for anything! Bunch of power hungry murdering satanist! McConnell & Pelosi installed Biden. The celebrities too.

Always my first thought!
Karen
why would you do that!?

all great movies where ray liotta was really cast very well. The compleat bad guy cop with a scheme.
my first movies watching Ray liotta do his thing was
NARC…it’s still a great movie..
Man I loved that one. Jason Patric was really good too.
Who will play the heavies now?
RIP
Pete Davidson? (/ducks)
This is sad to hear. I was a fan of Liotta. You can fall asleep and never wake up – a reminder how fleeting our time is here.
I met Mr. Liotta at a screening of Narc some years ago. He had tremendous presence and was very engaging. That Henry Hill mystique seemed to engulf him.
The first time I ever saw him in a film was a quirky film with Tom Hulce about two brothers, Dominik and Eugene. He definitely made an impression.
A long time ago I watched him do an interview where he talked about being adopted, it was really quite interesting. He didn’t hold a grudge once he learned what his birth mother had going on. Anyway, I am sorry he passed away, quite sad for his fiancé.
There are too many people dying at relatively young ages since the vaccine came out to ignore. Cause of death is always unknown.
“It’s a complete mystery, have you gotten your Monkeypox shot? We have boosters too.” – Tony Fauchi.
I don’t follow hollywood.. I don’t like a lot of people..
so my “like” list is very short.. Clint Eastwood.. Steve McQueen.. J.W. Pepper..
I liked Ray.. he always reminded me of a cousin.. or a brother..
aside from all of that hollywood stuff.. I could tell he was a good dude..
R.I.P.
He also sexually molested little boys and sexually assaulted a couple of male adults. He was a homosexual. I can’t grieve or praise someone like that.
Are you sure you aren’t getting Ray mixed up with Kevin Spacey?
‘Something Wild’ was.
We’re all on “borrowed time.” Oh Ray, thank you for sharing your short, significant life time of entertainment. Thank you for being a man of honor; you kept you eyes and ears open and your mouth shut, may I say? So it certainly seems, please allow me…

See. It.
Toward the end of the film Ray Liotta has a scene – a moment – I have rewound and watched over and over and over.
Man…
I always liked Unlawful Entry with Kurt Russell. He plays a scary a$$ cop. Of course, Field of Dreams was wonderful for anyone with a son.
Very sorry to hear. I always liked him.
I still have not learned of what he died from. Anybody?
I think if you look at the all cause mortality rates in the US and the West you will find they were normal for 2020. For 2021 and 2022 they are significantly higher. I wonder what changed? Don’t be dumb. Keep away from it.
