There are increasing reports of widespread consumer shortage for baby formula, many parents are now growing increasingly desperate, and retailers are starting to ration purchases.
The Abbott Nutrition plant in Sturgis, Michigan, shut down in February due to an FDA inspection and several food sanitation concerns. That plant was one of the biggest suppliers of baby formula nationally including Similac, and a major supplier of specialty formulas that are a lifeline for thousands of infants with medical conditions, including metabolic, allergic and gastrointestinal disorders.
Oddly, after several months the plant remains closed.
Politico has this interesting aspect noted, “Neither FDA nor Abbott will answer specific questions about the status of the investigation or what the plan is to reopen the facility, which has further strained the infant formula supply chain. Among other types of infant formula, the plant is a major producer of Similac, the top brand on the market. Parents across the country have posted on social media about near-empty shelves of formula at the retail level.”
In response to the supply shortages several retailers have now begun rationing infant formula to customers:
(Via The Hill) Several major retailers — including Walgreens, CVS, Target and Costco — are rationing the purchase of baby formula amid an ongoing national shortage.
“Due to increased demand and various supplier challenges, infant and toddler formulas are seeing constraint across the country,” a Walgreens spokesperson told NBC News.
“Similar to other retailers, we put into effect purchase limits of three per transaction on all infant and toddler formula to help improve inventory. We continue to work diligently with our supplier partners to best meet customer demands.” (read more)
As noted within several media reports, some people are calling upon the federal government to intervene and use federal resources to either assist with expanded manufacturing capacity, and/or, assist with equitable distribution, ie ‘rationing’.
The Cloward-Piven strategy for radical and fundamental change consists of overwhelming a system, creating a crisis and then using the crisis as an entry for government solution; the ‘never let a crisis go to waste’ part of the program.
There is no doubt the overall food production supply chain was thrown into chaos when COVID mitigation efforts by the government shut down the food supply chain for 60% of national consumption.
When the food away from home venues were closed (restaurants, schools, hotels, cafeterias’, lunchrooms, food trucks and hospitality venues) they represented more than half of the total food supply chain. Food at home retailers, grocery stores and supermarkets, together with their upstream manufacturing and distribution systems, simply could not keep up with the increased demand.
If you run any system beyond its operational capacity long enough, odd downstream consequences begin to appear. One of those consequences is always in the food safety and sanitation side of the food manufacturing and processing system. However, as the food supply boxcar effect begins to stabilize and get back to normal, now is not the time for another round of government intervention.
Sometimes there is little distinction in outcome between an actual scarcity and the appearance of scarcity when hyped by fear and panic. Be careful of hyped fear and panic because it can be purposeful for the interests of the Cloward-Piven types.

Buy goat’s milk. It’s better.
.
We are going to have to pull boobs out of mothballs. Oh, the horror! To think that moms were built with baby formula.
<We are going to have to pull boobs out of mothballs…>
I’m having trouble getting that visual out of my mind 🙂
Women are so brainwashed at this point on this subject. When my daughter had a baby anything less than store bought formula was poisoning her baby. So, I can understand the panic. You can’t even reach them that whole milk is at 3% to mimic mother’s milk.
I live in Santa Barbara County and anyone who doesn’t breast feed is the Devil. All three of my adult children, now with children of their own, went strictly with feeding their children breast milk, but I only bottle fed my children. I also started my children on rice cereal at 6 weeks, which absolutely horrifies people with small children today.
These customs change regularly, and necessity is the mother of invention. I recently checked on line for homemade baby formula recipes but the only search results were warnings not to EVER make your own formula.
Somehow missing in all the hype about Baby formula shortages is the acknowledgment that baby formula is a lucrative product. Pre-made formula did not become widely available until 100 years ago. I say this will work out in interesting and surprising ways and lead to something better.
When I was a baby it was bottle cow milk with Guinness to ensure you slept and had your iron!
Off topic…but the rumor in my family was that when one of my six siblings became cranky and would not go to sleep, my parents would hold them over the gas furnace and knock them out…!
My 84 year old mother was horrified to hear talk about that one evening. She claimed that our Dad just told us that one time to freak us out. He did a darn good job of freaking us out. He had a rather unusual sense of humor.
Putting a touch of vanilla extract in the bottle with the milk was rumored to assist with sleep.
My father used single malt Scotch one time in my bottle when I was sick and couldn’t sleep. So I’m told 🙂
My four siblings and I (born and raised in the last 60s-70s) were bottle fed from the beginning and also were fed rice cereal at 6-8 weeks, allowing us to sleep through the night by the time we were two months old. Bottles were done away with once we learned to walk, out of fear we would fall with it in our mouths or find an unfinished bottle under the couch that was there for a few days. I guess we were just shuffled through bottles, diapers and poddy training all by age two, no worse for wear that I can tell.
We never had bonding issues and were healthy infants and toddlers. I understand that is not the case with everyone, though. My mother–a busy farmwife with three children from ages 0-3–chose not to breastfeed (not sure when she would have had the time). She was fortunate to live at a time when she could choose this.
Can someone, however, please explain to me breastfeeding a 2- or 3-year old?? I’ve seen it and it’s just odd when a child climbs on his mother’s lap and starts to unbutton her blouse because he’s hungry. What’s up with that???
I witnessed that once. It was very disconcerting. The child basically sucked for 20 seconds, then climbed down and started playing with his sibling again.
It’s the fanatics at the La Leche League. I had a cousin who nursed all 3 of hers until kindergarten if you can even imagine. She was President of her local chapter…
Adele Davis had a recipe for infant formula that I used to supplement breast milk when my daughter was four months old and I returned to work. I’d come home at noon to nurse her, but she needed a little something in between. It certainly never harmed her. The base was heavy cream. And there was no added sugar.
We can’t point to old ways and say they were all just fine. Breast milk is one thing, some of the old substitutes something else entirely, and not good for babies. Feeding tiny babies cereal is unnecessary and substitutes a low-nutrient food for high-nutrient breast milk. When they start cutting teeth is the time to start solid food—their bodies are telling us that they’re ready.
Ahh but a great visual
They gonna need a good rinsing off before use!
AOC will discover that next month.
Pete Butt-Edge-Edge has been lactating for a year. He can make himself useful (finally) by making a handy dandy “How To” video.
Yeah, how to lactate when you don’t have the physical equipment. 🙄
A woman does not turn lactating on and off like a light switch.
Someone should tell Pete Buttyplugg…. /
read studies where breast cancer in those having abortions increase by a factor of 7……you think God’s finely tuned systems may go through a form of shock when peremptorily shut down?
Better yet, have some of these trans-mothers donate THEIR breast milk!
C’ mon, you guys, Putin has no right to invade Iran!
Babies used to die before formula was a thing. And nursemaid was a legitimate profession. Some mothers and infants take to breastfeeding without any problems. And some do not. I breastfed all of my bio kids to varying degrees. There is no difference in their long term outcomes.
Ease up on the mom guilt.
All people are not the same. Like people, all women are not the same too! There will always be exceptions to the rule.
Example: Most women can enjoy sex. Yet there are a number out there where sex is unfortunately never going to work for them. At the same time, there are a number out there that need a special something to get stared or it is not going to happen. I have experienced all three situations so I can confirm they exist. It would be great if all women were in the middle category, but that is just not going to happen.
Not all babies come out perfect. Sometimes mom’s die giving birth. Life expectancy used to be 50 ish and now it is 80. Life is not fair.
There was nothing in my post that earned a GFY. The stock market had a not so popular day though and that may affect moods.
Homemade Goat Milk Formula Recipe
https://goatmilkformula.com/2020/09/25/homemade-goat-milk-formula-recipe/
Goat’s milk save me as an infant. I could not drink breast milk or formula. That as well as my dear Grandparents prayed as the knelt going up the stares at church.
Glad to hear it! That goat milk worked, not that you trouble with breast milk and formula.
If only there were a way to feed babies that didn’t require factories to manufacture food for them.
Yes, I understand nature’s way isn’t always feasible. Still, taking all in all, it feels like there’s been a concerted effort over the last 75 years or so to separate women from their babies. And it shows in society.
I am betting facebook and cell phones had even more of a hand in that.
Perfect, Charles. Nicely said.
My daughter could have fed a small country – she was blessed indeed…..to bad had to throw alot away in the freezer there wa s so much…
I actually nursed a girlfriend’s baby along with one of mine. She was going through a horrible divorce from a violent man. Her stress was so high that she couldn’t make enough milk. I had tons so I nursed both our babies for a short period of time until she could get her life in a better spot. I never regretted that.
You are a hero in my book.
Hospitals have discouraged women by giving babies bottles before they go home. And, many nurses don’t know anything about helping a mother nurse a newborn. That was my experience when my son was born. The head nurse was helpful, but the others weren’t. And, I successfully nursed my son because I was determined to.
now they have breast feeding consultants for those who have interest in natural feeding to educate and assist new mothers in the hospital
In the old days babies didn’t need to be fed specialized manufactured food, but I’m talking the old original series babies not today’s babies with their 96 interchangeable genders and what not.
No, now days if you use the wrong formula you’ll need to send that baby back to the dealer to get it fixed and don’t count on getting it back right away with the chip shortage and labor shortage and all.
On top of that, using the wrong formula voids the warranty and the repair costs are all out of pocket.
I’ll take an old model any day, those babies where so easy to feed even a cave woman could do it.
Nice post TheBigHarry.
My Mom, a hard working ranchers wife, managed to raise all of her children born in the 50s and early 60s some how with out a lot of the things that Mothers have now days.
Amazingly all of us “older models” born before all of this technology managed to survive our poor ignorant parents skills in child rearing just fine.
Now no one can do it without facebook and the government.
Parents are all over the internet telling their horror stories of how they must drive from store to store or town to town to seek out factory baby formula for their little ones.
My husband said that they spend more time on line complaining about the problem than they spend actually trying to solve it.
We older generation are just not use to telling the whole wide word how upset our lives are over this or that, we work towards solving it.
Our food corporations are evil.
When PDJT is back in the Oval Office he needs to go full Teddy Roosevelt Trust Busting, smash all monopolies and near-monopolies. Especially the “Big Ag”
Who owns Abbott and who owns them?
It’s the same people who own Disney and every other corporation.

Shame on me. I thought you were being sarcastic .. until I checked.
Thanks!
Shoulda guessed.
Mother’s milk is a win win for mother and child. My wife did it with 3 and my daughter has breast fed her 3 boys. Antibodies passed naturally.
Possibly there might be a problem for vaccinated woman breastfeeding their babies so they cut off the supply. It would be like a mandate.
Right here in the US of A… a *baby* formula shortage… WTF.. WTF.. WTF.. Can you say “Third World”??!!
If the libs/commies can’t get rid of them in the womb – by any other means!!!
I’m expecting a *great* grandson in about 2 weeks.. The Mom is hoping to breast feed, but this still has to give you that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach..
It does. One gets the feeling there is a deliberate evil going on. And for those who say a government wouldn’t manufacture such an evil? I’d say maybe it’s time to start reading some history and start paying attention.
Yrs, there IS a deep, perniscious evil pervading the land,…we ALL feel it.
And yes, this evil HAS seeped into EVERY major institution of Society, including GOVERNMENT.
But to recognise it, while denying the obvious source is willful blindness.
It thrives on chaos, control, perversion and suffering.
And its main tool is the false narrative, aka the Big Lie.
Gee, what could POSSIBLY be the ultimate source of so much evil?
Yes. This is absolutely outrageous.
I made ‘formula’ for my baby sister with evaporated canned milk and Karo corn syrup. She is still alive.
That’s what my Grandmother made for me after our family moved back to her home following the untimely death of our Mom when I was 6 weeks old. By all reports, I did very well on it. 😊 I gather it was in rather widespread use at the time.
My parents brought me home from the hospital with that recipe written out. Of course, that was many decades ago.
Back in the day before formula, evaporated milk was the what every child I know was put on at the hospital.
My mother said she breastfed me as I was the firstborn. One sister was born when I was 24 mos. I think she was breastfed for 6 weeks then switched to formula of evaporated milk+ a few teaspoons/ bottle, sterilized bottles caps and nipples btw. 2 brothers then one more sister so the last three were mostly on formula. No paper diapers either so there was a diaper pail and constant diapers to be be folded. Lots of work to raise a family.
This is a real crisis in my area (southwest Missouri). Local health departments are making announcements pleading with caregivers not to dilute formula and not to make homemade formula, but they have not offered any suggestions as to how to obtain formula. The shelves are empty. I work with foster families who care for medically fragile infants, and the shelves are empty. Pediatricians offices have given away all of their samples. Food banks have no reserve. I have a 9 month old and I am so thankful I can nurse him. I’d planned to go back to work part time when he was 6 months old, but with the formula shortage I will go ahead and stay home until he’s 1.
OBiden Uses His FDA to Starve American Babies
FIFY.
It’s just criminal that Abbott is not being forced to publish multiple homemade recipes that parents can use- ones that can cover babies deemed allergic to certain compounds. And to actually see pediatricians whining about the homemade formulas should also shut their traps. I breastfed my kids as long as I could but not all mothers can and some babies also don’t latch on well. This shortage can’t be a coincidence.
I remember not long ago China had a scandal where they were pumping harmful fillers into baby formula and many babies got sick and even died. At that time I remember thinking-I can’t imagine that ever happening in the US… who knew exactly how EVIL this administration and the DNC could be.
God provided the answer here. Nursing. Only mothers can do it. So it’s not inclusive. Not sorry.
Possible for most, but there are those mothers who cannot. I’ve known some who could not and for them it was a source of tremendous disappointment.
100%.
Do not assume that all mothers who do not nurse are selfish or anything else negative.
Some just are unable.
This is a problem that should not be happening.
Really frustrating that people here have no idea what nursing a baby is like. Many mothers are extremely pressured to do so and not being able to frustrates baby and mother when it doesn’t work. You folks ever heard of post partum depression? Not being able to nurse is a big cause. Please folks – many mothers who want to are not able for many reasons no matter how hard they try. Can’t we find a little compassion for young mothers and their children? Y’all make is sound like because one has boobs they can just whip them out and voila! Lemme tell ya…………..it doesn’t work that way. And I will say, it’s strange that a lot of babies are developing weird allergies. This is not the mothers’ fault.
One of my daughters could not nurse her first and she got so depressed and anxious. She’s successfully nursed the 2nd and 3rd and is expecting her 4th. So, yes, it’s not that easy! It’s complicated actually.
Some of us chose not to breast feed for other reasons. I could have breast fed, but for reasons I don’t want to discuss in public, I decided to bottle feed.
My adult children are smart, independent, healthy adults. Both of my sons were collegian athletes and continue to compete and coach. My daughter has a great husband and 3 beautiful daughters. Bottle feeding did not place them at any disadvantage. I am certainly not opposed to breast feeding, but bottle feeding worked fine for me.
Mrs. J – the nursing police are all over this thread. Don’t let them get to you. Fed is best.
Thanks…I noticed.
Very true Mrs Jones.
I had five siblings, a family of six children, two of them were completely bottle fed some of us were completely breast fed and some were combination bottle/breast fed.
My Mother did what she had to do back then and did not worry so much about it.
We are all fine and you could never guess which was bottle or which was breast fed.
Mothers back then did not raise children like they were delicate hot house flowers being raised and fussed over in a specially designed greenhouse.
I breastfed my first born but no milk came out for my second baby. I never knew why. I was still young when I had my second child and I was very healthy.
Many children are adopted and some mothers just can not breast feed.
Even in the good old days a lot of children were fed home made baby formula.
Lots and lots and lots of us are alive and thrived because of the care our Mothers gave us through the careful and loving home production of baby formula.
Can someone explain the term “wet nurse” to me? I seemed to have dreamed it. Or was it in a King James version of something? /s
A wet nurse is a lactating woman who breast feeds a child not her own. I don’t think there are wet nurses anymore.
No, but there are lactating women that sell/give milk to hospitals and others in need. They are quite rare and are heroic.
I had breast cancer and could not breast feed my children.
you are SOOO un PC….don’t you know that word is verboten….it is now “birthing person”….ask Sec. Pete and his “husband” /s
Adoption.

A lot of pediatricians recommend feeding soy. I would never feed my baby soy.
Weston A. Price foundation focuses on organic foods and has done the scientific research to back up their recommendations.
Some people will say “fresh raw milk?????!!!!!” and have a meltdown. But, as a dairy cow owner, I can tell you it is the most delicious and healthy food on earth. One of my children was allergic to dairy based formulas when my milk dried up from a serious illness, and I’ll never forget how frustrated I was. She was allergic to goat milk too. She ended up on some crazy formula that was very expensive and probably not healthy. At 6 months old, I was able to cook and puree whole foods for her so she could get all the nutrition she needed until I felt I could get her off that formula.
This topic is near and dear to me. There are options. Moms need to know.
Plus the raw milk often forms a secondary immune system in the child.
Raw milk is fabulous.
There is nothing quite like it. I absolutely love raw milk.
When I lived in S. Cal many years ago, I bought fresh raw milk. I had never liked milk and didn’t drink it, but I love that fresh milk. I also tolerated it better.
Raw fresh milk has the digestive enzymes that are needed to break down the proteins in the milk. Pasteurization kills those enzymes.
RESUMING BREASTFEEDING AFTER AN INTERRUPTION
The good news is relactation is possible. It requires time, patience, determination and a cooperative baby! Whether you stopped breastfeeding due a medical procedure, separation from baby, or simply bad advice, many individuals find they can rebuild a milk supply successfully. Providing human milk for a newly adopted baby is also a relactation opportunity.
Sometimes, relactation produces enough breastmilk to supply all of baby’s needs. Other times, supplementation may still be needed.
https://www.llli.org/breastfeeding-info/relactation/#:~:text=RESUMING%20BREASTFEEDING%20AFTER%20AN%20INTERRUPTION&text=Providing%20human%20milk%20for%20a,supplementation%20may%20still%20be%20needed.
Great resource! http://Www.kellymom.com has some good info too. Mothers need to see this stuff!
They have been and are constantly probing and creating issues to exploit. This article as usual has identified what is going on.
When do we hit the part where we eat pets and zoo animals? Wondering where we are on the timeline Venezuela was on when that happened. We continue to allow and import migrants into a country that cannot even supply baby formula to its own citizens.
We continue to allow and import invaders into a country that cannot even supply baby formula to its own citizens.
Fortunately our 1 year old is starting to eat regular food. Wife is scrounging around stores to find. And she has been looking at ideas of what to make from separate ingredients.
My son started eating “real” food and rejecting baby food (I had nursed him originally) before he had all of his teeth–less than a year old. If not for Chef Boyardee and quick thinking, the kid would’ve starved.
Rinsed & pureed baked beans mixed with Stonyfield whole milk yogurt was a favorite too.
One of my babies had severe allergies. I would boil a chicken leg, zucchini, peas, and carrots, or some variation of that, puree it in the blender using the chicken broth, and spoon feed her. I even froze baggies of homemade food. I’m sure there are better recipes out there for making baby food.
My almost 2 yo grandson stopped formula as he started eating real food around age 1. He now gets a cup of milk morning and evening and some yoghurt at breakfast. They don’t need formula for very long.
got a blender or a Ninja?
When I was a kid we did not have baby formula, how is it that we were able to survive without it?
Bring back wet nurses for those having lactation problems.
A wet nurse goes for $1,000 a week.
Exactly!
I agree how about all those moms who bottle fed before formula came
along…they seemed to manage..they don;t want you to make your
own cuz people will do that and realize it is cheaper than buying
baby formula..
But for many years mother made thier own before Formula was
available..
People made their own. Like my mother in law, who didn’t breastfeed any of her nine. But that didn’t stop her from applying the pressure to me to do it. Also, my sisters in law, my sisters and my mom, but at least they’d all breastfed their own babies. I hemorrhaged giving birth to my first infant (33 week preemie). I had HELP syndrome and my blood pressure didn’t come down right away afterwards so I was put on meds for that. I was sick and badly anemic after giving birth but the tremendous pressure from my family and society forced me into breastfeeding when all I really needed was sleep. A breastfed baby wakes up every hour and a half. Sometimes you can get four hours of sleep out of a bottle fed baby. (Nobody told me that). But she was my first so I did everything by the book. My health suffered for years, maybe even permanently. At that time, NOBODY said to me, “You don’t have to do this. Your baby will be fine on formula. Take care of you.” I remember when that baby was around a year old, I was watching Good Morning America of all things and some lady was on talking about how breastfed babies are smarter, less allergic, less asthmatic, more bonded, blah, blah, blah. And then she posted a list with 5 things on it of women who, if they have any one of them, shouldn’t breastfeed. I had had 3 of them.
When my next baby came along, I was more relaxed. The HELP came back, but this time I was a more confident mother and despite what the lactation consultants claim, the baby went back and forth between the bottle and the breast without a problem and that time I recovered nicely, with a good solid four hours of sleep at the beginning of each night.
All of these “experts” that give advice take the natural joy and delight out of Motherhood Tess.
Every new Mother will make mistakes, we always have and we always will.
But somewhere around 40 years ago these “experts” exploded all over these daily TV shows and gave people the idea that if we slavishly followed them and their advice we could avoid the natural mistakes in life that every one makes and which usually never really hurts anyone.
They wrote books that would tell out of proportional horror stories of honest mistakes that people made and then tell the world if it followed them this horror could be avoided.
Usually these stories were exaggerated and their advice was nothing special but many have become addicted to following experts and not their own common sense.
Thank heavens you decided to follow your own path and live free and easy with your second child.
Thanks Chloe. My oldest is 25. My baby is 15 so I’m pretty removed from breastfeeding wars but I will always remember what it felt like back with my first. And how much easier it was with my bio sons when I did what was best for the whole family.
Today I am the voice that some struggling young mothers need to hear. That I needed to hear. I tell them how my boys went back and forth between breast and bottle without issues. And then I always tell them that my husband’s entire family was exclusively fed with homemade formula. The bottom line is fed is best. I swear sometimes I’m the only one in a young mom’s sphere giving them an alternative viewpoint.
Is Karo corn syrup different than high fructose corn syrup ?
Is corn syrup even a good idea ?
I find it disgusting that’s even in the formula.
A similar formula with blackstrap molasses
Homemade Emergency Baby Formula Recipe
https://nourishingjoy.com/homemade-emergency-baby-formula-recipe/#recipe
The karo syrup keeps the infant from becoming constipated.
Do not know why, but if a baby or a toddler becomes “blocked” a spoonful of the stuff will loosen them up quick.
This is why is was added to the cow or goats milk formula.
Human milk has something in it to keep the infant from becoming constipated but cows and goats milk does not.
I do not know what is in manufactured baby formula that does this but they do add something.
Thanks. I didn’t think baby would need extra sugar.
If they are now putting HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP in formula , it may explain the rise in diabetes / health issues.
Its in everything , even bread. – ADM , archer daniels midland = big AG
Locally produced honey would make a wonderful substitute.
Children under 1 year old are not to have honey.
Thanks for this info. In the immortal words of Leonardo da Vinci, “I am still learning.” One of the joys of this site! 👍
https://www.webmd.com/baby/when-can-a-baby-have-honey
Babies do not need sugar. Period. It’s empty calories that cause inflammation and fatty liver.
It IS different.
http://www.differencebetween.net/object/comparisons-of-food-items/difference-between-corn-syrup-and-high-fructose-corn-
Corn syrup is a terrible idea. At any age.
This is going to be the thing that REALLY sparks young parental action.
In many if not most cases, younger people tend to have a more left-leaning perspective and set of expectations. But when they can’t feed their babies? Watch out. These people clearly were not thinking ahead to welfare programs like WIC.
Bingo. When parents can’t feed their children and more specifically their babies, that’s when the lid blows off all of this utterly ridiculous bs.
https://www.yahoo.com/now/whistleblower-notified-fda-concerns-facility-233128773.html
April 28, 2022
The FDA in February said two babies died potentially from bacteria linked to infant formula.
Abbott Nutrition recalled lots of some formulas made in their Sturgis, Michigan, plant.
Rep. Rosa DeLauro on Thursday said a whistleblower alerted the FDA to the plant in October.
A whistleblower notified the Food and Drug Administration about concerns with a plant that produces infant formula months before two babies died and the products were recalled, according to a newly revealed document.
The FDA said in February it was investigating reports of bacterial infections related to powdered infant formula made at Abbott Nutrition’s plant in Sturgis, Michigan. Abbott Nutrition recalled select lots of its Similac, Alimentum, and EleCare formulas.
The FDA said two deaths had been reported and that a “Cronobacter infection may have contributed to the cause of death for both patients.”
https://delauro.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/icymi-delauro-shares-whistleblower-report-contaminated-infant-formula
When will 2 children dead from shot complications shut down Big pharma manufacturing indefinitely?
You just made the point I was going to make:
This is about destruction in every possible way. Depopulation is a documented UN agendum. I’d be willing to bet this “whistleblower” was fake to start with. Probably a pretext to shutting down this vital product line.
But they still haven’t shut down production of the vaccine.
How did babies ever survive infancy before there was a US government??? I’m not advocating for babies with special dietary needs to suffer or starve, but citizens had better start figuring things out for themselves and better start relying upon/turning to each other for help rather than our “benign, benevolent” government.
Looks like we are entering a world where mother’s milk and unjabbed/covid-recovered blood will be in high demand. It’s a brave new world, ain’t it?/sarc
How-To books will be solid gold.
The internet instant look up may not always be there.
Agreed, Sparrow. I buy these when I can.
Mad Max: Fury Road territory?
NOT posting Mothers’ Milkers picture *shudder*
I wonder how much “our” government is subsidizing Abbot to keep that plant closed?
Biggest questions for the leftist parents:
So does the infant suffer malnutrition before or after the gender reassignment surgery? And why are the white males so racist they stopped producing baby formula?
And why should we care about babies after they are born? Isn’t California making it legal to neglect a baby, even unto its death, if s/he is born and under eight weeks? This is just infanticide after the post perinatal period, the inevitable slippery slope we keep sliding down since Roe v. Wade. Move along. Nothing to see. (I trust I don’t have to indicate I’m being sarcastic 🙂 These little lives are so very precious–I’ve never had one of my own, but I’d crawl over broken glass for a stale piece of bread for any of my 14 nieces or nephews…..)
I am so Blessed God gave me the ability to nurse both of my babies. This is madness
.
Isn’t there a huge trafficking of babies — for whatever reasons (including harvesting stem cells) — in Ukraine?
Should a problem with ‘distribution’ arise which necessitates a sudden, immediate need to keep the ‘product’ viable, wouldn’t that also necessitate the means to keep same viable needing a larger supply . . .?
Brandon: If we can’t abort ’em, we’ll starve ’em.
I’m sure the cuckhold DC Republicans will get right on it with sternly worded letters, and soundbite worthy hearings—if they win in November.
But not much will change.
DC is a company town and the company business is more and bigger government. Everybody in the company town wins when there is more and bigger government—everyone except the hoi polloi.
Food plants with pipes, vats or tanks, etc. carrying or storing slurries of ingredients have to continue processing; any substantial down time gives bacteria an opportunity start colonizing. So after any substantial shutdown of a pipe — it has to be cleaned and flushed. That’s really expensive in terms of lost production! Even worse, it the plant managers can’t identify the source of the bacteria (which pipe, vat, tank…), then the WHOLE plant has to be shutdown and sterilized!!! That’s crazy expensive and time consuming. Unless a plant has big income potential, permanent shutdown might be the best business decision.
The (final) solution is simple:
More abortions = less babies = less baby food demand.
/sarc
Obviously the lactating men aren’t doing their part.
Or the transwomen…..
Suspicious Cat is – suspicious
Why not do a quick survey here………
How many of you would vote to take that 33 billion for Ukraine and build a brand new baby formula factory from scratch…… for our kids?
I am the first YES!
I’d rather burn the money in a pit than send it to Ukraine.
You are not alone.
Donor breastmilk is a thing, Human Milk for Human Babies (or something similar in name). I’ve also seen recipes for homemade formula with goat milk, black strap molasses, and other ingredients. It would require some research. Women have done without formula before and we can figure it out again. Mine are all breastfed and don’t use formula, thank God.
Donor breastmilk brings many concerns. Would an “unvaccinated” mother want “vaccinated” breastmilk? I hope not.
It’s based on the honor system. I am able to donate milk occasionally, and in the groups I share my milk we provide a brief intro such as: non-smoking, drug and alcohol free, dairy free, no covid shot.
Some even specify whether milk producing mama or baby have a cold, flu, Covid positive, etc.
Of the thousands of mamas in these groups, the majority want or are offering unvaccinated human milk.
Since the FDA and pharmaceutical companies (Abbott included) are in the back pocket of the deep state, is this just another tool in addition to the experimental vaccines and abortions to be used in their world wide eugenics program? After all, if they can’t have unrestricted on demand abortions then could starving be an alternative? As horrific as that seems, remember that to sycophant liberals human life is nothing but acceptable collateral damage as long as their agenda is being advanced.
And to liberals, human life is moldable: like clay, if it doesn’t mold “right,” you just throw it away. What a sad way to live and think…..
I’m reading that 40% of formula comes from CHYYNA
Port situation and the lockdown in Shanghai… bad bad bad.
If they cannot abort the babies…they will starve the babies. To death.
Those were my first thoughts!
Apparently it’s possible to breastfeed again after weaning, or even without being pregnant in the first place? I don’t know. But if you want to look into it, here’s a link.

They have a list of reasons for inducing lactation. Some are sensible. Some are things like transgenderism. Recommend you don’t read too far down the list, unless you want to roll your eyes out of their sockets.
So, the ones that make it thru the abortion guantlet, will be STARVED!
Theres always BREAST FEEDING, which is also a form of birth control,..seldom mentioned.
Also, IIRC lowers the ‘risk’ of breast cancer,..and is actually a primary function OF breasts,..
How about momma’s milk?
Day after Mother’s Day. Our 3 adult children were breast fed.
The clamor for grass fed beef vs artificial human nutrition.
Our babies even had 2 choices.
Holy crap, I just stated watching “Ozark”. This series is absolutely dead on with everything we are witnessing and this is just one example from the discussion above.
The Abbott Nutrition plant in Sturgis, Michigan, shut down in February due to an FDA inspection and several food sanitation concerns.
Oh, woe is me – these helpless people!!! My mother couldn’t breast feed and it shamed her, but she made up a baby formula with evaporated milk and several other things and we thrived just fine. I can remember watching her make up the same formula for my younger brother.
Let me ask you “Belle” ……..if you were unable to lactate, and many types of formula on the market made your baby vomit and not keep nutrition down except for a certain type of baby formula, would you be this flip around a screaming baby that is hungry?
You people are unbelievable. Really out of touch.
Many babies for whatever reason have developed allergies that children didn’t have 50 years ago. Who’s fault is that? The mother? Please. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
There are many recipes online for Homemade Baby Formula going to back to the 1940’s, people can easily make their own.
It almost sounds like MSM are hyping up an overreaction to help support a Fed ‘take over’ due to the supply-chain issues…caused by the Fed. 🧐
Older Recipe:
13 oz. Pet Evaporated Milk (any brand)
20 oz. Water (boiled for ten minutes – let cool)
2 Level Tablespoons of Karo or Dark Karo (carbohydrate)
Pour 4 oz. into each of six bottles
This is just one recipe, there is another that uses coconut milk with different ingredients and many more. Most of the ingredients for these recipes are available and can be made with a little extra effort.
Unfortunately, the Media make it sound as if people are freaking out and want Biden to step in and save the day, no doubt there are some folks who are genuinely fearful…just not sure it is the hysteria the MSM says it is. 🤷♂️
They wouldn;t want anyone to know you can make your own now.
Cuz then they would figure out it is cheaper than buying baby
formula and then..welll…so they says don;t make your own..
danger….
Very good point and unfortunately accurate.
used the above recipe for my 3 children. All 3 are very successful adults. No problems. The kids today are weak .
Joe will be eating nothing but baby food in a few months.
Two things.
First, it is possible, with drugs and pumping, to induce lactation without going through the bother of giving birth.
Second, breast milk is openly available for purchase on line, and believe me, at anywhere from $1 to $2.50/fluid ounce, it is big business. From the looks of things, it’s going to get a lot bigger– and a lot more expensive.
No, thanks. I would never take drugs to get my body to do what it’s not suppose to or prepared to do. Just like the covid jab: take a “vaccine” to make my body produce the spike toxin it was never designed to–are you kidding me??
Be careful playing God, folks. It hasn’t worked out well since we were thrown out of the garden….
Among the drugs in question are opiates, marijuana and cocaine.
Mexico is not having problems like this at all.
America is a 3rd world country now!
I wonder if the babies had breastfed from vaxed moms, then switched to formula?
And are we still sending formula to the Ukraine?
We had a family member do this after reports of babies bleeding after being breastfed when the Mom was vaxxed. She held out for many weeks with threats being made about losing her job. When they initiated the letting go process, she relented. She is scared that she won’t be able to have more children now but we are praying the Lord will provide

I would think twice about breastfeeding a baby after being jabbed.. Then again, I would think twice about being jabbed in the first place. But the point is, passing covid spike proteins directly to a baby like that sounds very dangerous.
The reason for closing the plant will be kept sealed for 75 years, as a matter of national security.
Please understand that not all mothers can breastfeed their babies. I started out breastfeeding my daughter but I caught an infection and had to start taking medication. The pediatrician told me to stop breastfeeding her because of the dangers of the medicine being passed along to her. Luckily, I had a supply of formula so I was able to bottle-feed her.
I remember the days of homemade baby formula. Dr. Spock had the recipe in his Baby Book. I always kept those supplies on hand, just in case. I kept a supply of cloth diapers too.
The homemade formula has syrup, honey, or molasses in it to help the baby break down and use the proteins in the milk. ( It is not necessarily to make the formula taste better).
Babies using homemade formula also need to be given extra doses of vitamins. Years ago, babies were given Cod Liver Oil.
The lack of understanding and compassion on this thread for mothers who for whatever reason cannot breastfeed is shocking and frankly very disappointing.
