Reading I
Peter proceeded to speak and said:
“You know what has happened all over Judea,
beginning in Galilee after the baptism
that John preached,
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Spirit and power.
He went about doing good
and healing all those oppressed by the devil,
for God was with him.
We are witnesses of all that he did
both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.
They put him to death by hanging him on a tree.
This man God raised on the third day and granted that he be visible,
not to all the people, but to us,
the witnesses chosen by God in advance,
who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
He commissioned us to preach to the people
and testify that he is the one appointed by God
as judge of the living and the dead.
To him all the prophets bear witness,
that everyone who believes in him
will receive forgiveness of sins through his name.”
R (24) This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
or:
R Alleluia.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his mercy endures forever.
Let the house of Israel say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
R This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
or:
R Alleluia.
“The right hand of the LORD has struck with power;
the right hand of the LORD is exalted.
I shall not die, but live,
and declare the works of the LORD.”
R This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
or:
R Alleluia.
The stone which the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
By the LORD has this been done;
it is wonderful in our eyes.
R This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.
or:
R Alleluia.
Brothers and sisters:
Do you not know that a little yeast leavens all the dough?
Clear out the old yeast,
so that you may become a fresh batch of dough,
inasmuch as you are unleavened.
For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed.
Therefore, let us celebrate the feast,
not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness,
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Alleluia
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed;
let us then feast with joy in the Lord.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Gospel
On the first day of the week,
Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning,
while it was still dark,
and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
So she ran and went to Simon Peter
and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them,
“They have taken the Lord from the tomb,
and we don’t know where they put him.”
So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb.
They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter
and arrived at the tomb first;
he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.
When Simon Peter arrived after him,
he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
and the cloth that had covered his head,
not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.
Then the other disciple also went in,
the one who had arrived at the tomb first,
and he saw and believed.
For they did not yet understand the Scripture
that he had to rise from the dead.
Dear Lord,
may I realize afresh today what Your death and resurrection mean for me. Forgiveness, freedom, and the ability to walk with You through this fallen world into eternity. May I always find my satisfaction in You and Your willingness to offer Yourself to me.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Amen.
May I use your beautiful prayer at our dinner table?

Not even those imposed by the ruler of the world, threatening death to anyone opening the door! The door was not opened for Jesus to get out, but for the disciples to look in.
Thank you Menagerie. May the blessings of the risen Christ come down upon you, Sundance and all Branch dwellers.
Btw as children we expected the rising sun to dance in the sky to celebrate the Reserction.
Unfortunately the dawn sky is cloudy here in NE Scotland this morning.
I believe anyway.
Belief reigns Supreme whenever clouds gather rejoice in His reminder

“Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia. Our Salvation, Holy day, Alleluia. Who did one upon the Cross, Alleluia. Suffer to redeem our loss, Alleluia.”
I loved singing that song on Easter as a child. I still do.
Truly amazing what Christ did for us.
Dolly does this song justice.

“As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” .. Mark16:5-7
Indeed He is Risen!
Indeed,He is risen!
He is risen indeed.
Retired Magistrate here: I love JESUS. Amen
Thank you Menagerie!
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
― C.S. Lewis
John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Thank you Lord!
We are an Easter People and Alleluia is our song!—St. Pope John Paul II
As the sun dawns,
the whispers of a new day arise.
“he is not here,” the truth is revealed,
the New Day is here.
We raise our voices
and join the joyful chorus:
“Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed!”
Christ is Risen- our hearts can be light!
Christ is Risen–eternal life is ensured!
Christ is Risen- our sins are forgiven!
“Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed!”
~~Forgiven~~
Praise the Lord!
Easter blessings to all Treepers.
May the sure knowledge of our redemption through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, Yeshua, the Savior, who was, and is, and is to come, guide us and keep us this day and in all the days to come.
He is risen indeed.
Happy Easter Treepers.. Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Christ is risen indeed.
Today is the day when salvation for the entire world became a reality.
Oh Lord, give us grace and mercy for those who desperately need you. Amen.
Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave, where is thy victory?
May the words of our mouths and the meditations within our hearts be acceptable in Your sight.
Let Your Will be done and not ours.
Please help us love You with all our heart , soul, and mind; as well as to love our neighbor as ourself.
Dear Lord, please help us to act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly[a] with You, Amen
Peter heard Jesus say that he MUST suffer many things and be rejected, to be killed AND on the third day RISE AGAIN!
Peter responded to those negative statements before he could comprehend the things Jesus was plainly saying.
How human to be sad and afraid.
And here we are also sad and afraid because our world is in chaos.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled, trust in God,
trust also in me . In my Father’s house are many rooms;
If it were not so , I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you, And
if I go and prepare a place for you,
I WILL come back and TAKE you to be WITH me that you also may be with me. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
John 14:1-4
Even so come Lord Jesus
Hallelujah!!!
I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
John14:3
