Exult, let them exult, the hosts of heaven,
exult, let Angel ministers of God exult,
let the trumpet of salvation
sound aloud our mighty King’s triumph!
Be glad, let earth be glad, as glory floods her,
ablaze with light from her eternal King,
let all corners of the earth be glad,
knowing an end to gloom and darkness.
Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice,
arrayed with the lightning of his glory,
let this holy building shake with joy,
filled with the mighty voices of the peoples.
(Therefore, dearest friends,
standing in the awesome glory of this holy light,
invoke with me, I ask you,
the mercy of God almighty,
that he, who has been pleased to number me,
though unworthy, among the Levites,
may pour into me his light unshadowed,
that I may sing this candle’s perfect praises.)
(V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with your spirit.)
V. Lift up your hearts.
R. We lift them up to the Lord.
V. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
R. It is right and just.
It is truly right and just, with ardent love of mind and heart
and with devoted service of our voice,
to acclaim our God invisible, the almighty Father,
and Jesus Christ, our Lord, his Son, his Only Begotten.
Who for our sake paid Adam’s debt to the eternal Father,
and, pouring out his own dear Blood,
wiped clean the record of our ancient sinfulness.
These, then, are the feasts of Passover,
in which is slain the Lamb, the one true Lamb,
whose Blood anoints the doorposts of believers.
This is the night,
when once you led our forebears, Israel’s children,
from slavery in Egypt
and made them pass dry-shod through the Red Sea.
This is the night
that with a pillar of fire
banished the darkness of sin.
This is the night
that even now, throughout the world,
sets Christian believers apart from worldly vices
and from the gloom of sin,
leading them to grace
and joining them to his holy ones.
This is the night,
when Christ broke the prison-bars of death
and rose victorious from the underworld.
Our birth would have been no gain,
had we not been redeemed.
O wonder of your humble care for us!
O love, O charity beyond all telling,
to ransom a slave you gave away your Son!
O truly necessary sin of Adam,
destroyed completely by the Death of Christ!
O happy fault
that earned so great, so glorious a Redeemer!
O truly blessed night,
worthy alone to know the time and hour
when Christ rose from the underworld!
This is the night
of which it is written:
The night shall be as bright as day,
dazzling is the night for me,
and full of gladness.
The sanctifying power of this night
dispels wickedness, washes faults away,
restores innocence to the fallen, and joy to mourners,
drives out hatred, fosters concord, and brings down the mighty.
On this, your night of grace, O holy Father,
accept this candle, a solemn offering,
the work of bees and of your servants’ hands,
an evening sacrifice of praise,
this gift from your most holy Church.
But now we know the praises of this pillar,
which glowing fire ignites for God’s honor,
a fire into many flames divided,
yet never dimmed by sharing of its light,
for it is fed by melting wax,
drawn out by mother bees
to build a torch so precious.
O truly blessed night,
when things of heaven are wed to those of earth,
and divine to the human.
Therefore, O Lord,
we pray you that this candle,
hallowed to the honor of your name,
may persevere undimmed,
to overcome the darkness of this night.
Receive it as a pleasing fragrance,
and let it mingle with the lights of heaven.
May this flame be found still burning
by the Morning Star:
the one Morning Star who never sets,
Christ your Son,
who, coming back from death’s domain,
has shed his peaceful light on humanity,
and lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Praise be to God! Peace be with you all.
His Son….Our Gift…

So beautiful. Thank you so much for posting this. I really need this.
So sad that the Catholic churches here still do not do full Eucharists which is the whole purpose of the mass. The only do the body not the blood…the blood of the new covenant which is what Christ is all about.
No disrespect, I am Catholic and was raised in the old way, only the host. This all came about when they turned the priest towards the people and did away with Latin. Also I do not think this is the thread to discuss this,my apologies to all and a Blessed Easter to all.
DanQ: Have you looked and Ann Barnhardt’s blog? I am a Catholic convert and read her regularly. There are many parishes that celebrate Mass in the pre-Vatican 2 way.
Prior to covid, we drank the blood also. covid ended that.
I went to a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, they had these really nifty little individual disposable containers that held both, grape juice and the wafer, body and blood. It was the first time I have seen them. You peel off the top label to get the wafer and then peel off the next label to get to the grape juice. They are like tiny little pudding cups. When we were done they had ushers walk down the aisle and collect the cups.
This church said they had been using them since Covid. I was thrilled to see someone had come up w/a solution. Anyway, where there is a will there is a way. Communion isn’t the same if you don’t do it proper. They told me they purchase them online, so any church that is cutting corners due to Covid needs to do some research for options.
Ditto our PCA church. We will resume passing the communion elements from pew to pew soon (thankfully) as the plandemic seems to be running out of steam, and the fascisti are not as likely to knock at our door brandishing mandates.
Actually Roman Catholics have always and still do believe(d) the Eucharist itself is the, Body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ, who is Lord. Fear not, you are experiencing the full communion as did the faithful for centuries prior to John 23rd introduced the new order.
It’s hard when things that make good comfort aren’t there. For what it’s worth, receiving in one species (bread) receives both the Sacred Body and Precious Blood.
Amen
Our Lord and Savior, took us from the darkness, into the eternal light. And yet, in this day and age, many prefer the darkness, turning their backs, on the celebration of life.
Amen , Rejoice!
A Blessed Easter tomorrow to all Treeper believers .
Amen.
Jesus said to her, “Thy brother shall rise.” Martha said to him, ” I know that he will rise at the resurrection, on the last day.”
Jesus said to her, “I AM the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me, even if he die, shall live; and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Dost thou believe this?” John 11: 22-26
Blessings 🙌 Sandalwood111,
Thank you for this portion of the Scriptures.
Very encouraging 👏 👍 👌.
Let us pray it returns.
Really beautiful. Thank you.
Christ our Lord is risen today, halleluiah!
Scream while we’re able JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!!
And this my friends is why we have hope and joy, more than “they have from abundant corn and new wine”.
May you all be blessed by the hope that does not disappoint.
Onward-with God all things are possible!
Thank you Christ for your sacrifice. The sins of the world for our sake.
The path to Heaven is Risen. Risen Indeed!
Nothing more powerful than listening to this in the candlelight of our church. Happy Easter! Blessings to all.
After Mary Magdalene became excitedly aware of the identity of the stranger standing in the garden, Hesus says to her:
“Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brothers and say unto them, ‘I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.’” – John 20:17.
I always found it interesting that – like us – Jesus HAS a god…and the Resurrection provides the indisputable proof that he is, The Son. Praise God!
beautiful, thank you
