Apparently, Pennsylvania politics is all about getting the suburban mom vote, or so the professionals in polling say. This endorsement seems puzzling, but perhaps the Pennsylvania Treepers can clear it up. Prior story on PA political happenings here.
I don’t want to dump on anyone, but Dr. Oz being endorsed by President Trump seems out of sync with the base. Ultimately, it’s up to Pennsylvania Republican voters, and maybe they like this guy as the most viable candidate. Voter registration ends May 2nd, and the Pennsylvania primary is May 17th {link} [General election Nov 8].
I am honored to receive President Trump’s full support and endorsement, and I thank him for that. President Trump knows how critical it is to change the kinds of people we send to Washington. I’m ready to bring an America First agenda to the Senate for Pennsylvania. pic.twitter.com/7gmhZupinr

Not a lot of people in my random unscientific Twitter poll are in favor.
However, how many people are from Pennsylvania?
Jared and Ivanka still running the ship I see . Hope we can find someone besides trump for 2024. He is a nice guy but out of touch
Trump has lost his way…..he needs to abandon the Republican Party in it’s entirety. The R’s are as rife with fraud as the Dems, there are so many RINOs now that it is difficult to tell who is legitimate.
Good thing I don’t make decisions based on what Trump says. I support the man himself but will make my own decisions on other candidates. I’m in FL but I’d say Oz is a no-go for me, although if no one else steps up, we need to beat the Dems at all costs.
Proud Treeper from PA here. Had the honor of working on multiple campaigns in Pennsylvania, including President Trump’s 2016 primary and general elections. While I don’t always go for the “3D chess” bit, I do believe this WAS a strategic endorsement by President Trump. Much attention has been given to Dr. Oz, and he has been (rather successfully) labeled a RINO by the “Honor Pennsylvania PAC.” However, the TRUE RINO in the Pennsylvania race for US Senate is in fact David McCormick, who–if polls are to be believed–has been leading, ever so slightly in the six-way primary. Yes, Dr. Oz has said some dumb things on TV before (I remember another candidate who was friends with Oprah, and did silly stuff on TV that didn’t turn out too bad!) but McCormick has actually DONE dangerous things. McCormick is the CEO of Bridgewater Associates, a hedge fund with BILLIONS of investments in Communist China. Bridgewater was started by known Chinese Communist Party sympathizer, Ray Dalio. McCormick’s wife is Dina Powell. You may recall the name–she briefly worked for President Trump, as part of the Gary Cohn globalist wing during the early days of the administration. She and Gary didn’t last long. Now Dina works with Heidi Cruz at Goldman Sachs. (Hence the Senator Cruz endorsement.) Both Powell & McCormick worked in the George W. Bush administration. McCormick was the #2 guy at the Commerce dept. when the whole world went into economic meltdown, banks got bailed out, and America got Barry Hussein Obama. The McCormicks are on the Atlantic Council and Aspen Institute–you know, the “think tanks” responsible for just about every wrong economic and foreign policy decision of the past 50 years. McCormick has been all too happy and rash to bash President Trump and has bought his political support over the years donating to McCain, McConnell, ¡Jeb!, Pompeo (hence the endorsement), and plenty of Democrats over the years. While Oz has been living next door in New Jersey, the McCormicks have been living in Connecticut for a quick commute to Wall Street. Dave McCormick’s touted “business background” in Pennsylvania includes offshoring jobs from Pittsburgh to China. If you want another McConnell/Romney style globalist who will say anything to get elected and then backstab his voters, McCormick is a 100% for certain prospect. At least Dr. Oz is a self-made man, who like President Trump is giving up a very comfortable life and can be easier held to his promises. While I prefer true MAGA patriot, Kathy Barnette, I’m willing to take a chance with Dr. Oz if it means preventing McCormick from being my next US Senator. By the way, that PAC putting out all the negative ads about Oz, “Honor Pennsylvania,” is funded by—you guessed it—David McCormick! Given all the Congressional insider trading that has been revealed lately, ask yourself, who is gaining and who is sacrificing to be a US Senator? The hedge funder with a wife at Goldman or the TV doctor with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame? Ray Dalio and Goldman Sachs don’t need another US Senator, Pennsylvania does!
Voting for Kathy Barnette. I’m not compromising my values. I’m the one that reaps what *I* sow, and I refuse to reap the harvest of voting for either Oz or McCormick. If anyone else wants to reap that judgment, that’s on them.
Just talking to family and friends, none will vote for OZ. This was a huge mistake by Trump. Why he gave this guy his endorsement is mind boggling. It really looks bad and is not sitting well with Republican voters.
