Sarah Palin enters a crowded field of nearly 40 candidates to fill the seat held by Don Young, who died last month. Alaska’s special election’s primary is scheduled for June 11th. The top four candidates will advance to the general election on Aug. 16th.
I saw that Nikki Haley endorsed her too. That made me laugh. But hooray for the Trump stamp of approval!
Actually, I think Palin could pull it off without a Trump endorsement.
But if you are going to win, you might as well win big.
For a moment, I considered moving to Alaska just so I could have the honor of voting for Sarah Palin 🙂 … (Well, it’s a beautiful state, too …)
And……You can sit on your front porch, on Little Diomede, Alaska……and see Russia a few miles away! That’s a fact.
Gov. Palin acquired valuable foreign experience by sharing the islands with Russia. She was Commander in Chief of Alaska’s excellent National Guard, among her other responsibilities. Btw, Palin worked hard for Alaskans and consistently polled close to 90% approval from them, a fairly rare number for a governor.
When I worked in Mongolia after living in Alaska the third time (when Sarah had been Governor) I learned that the Alaska National Guard and Mongolian Army train together on either’s land yearly.
The narrowest distance between mainland Russia and mainland Alaska is approximately 55 miles.
However, in the body of water between Alaska and Russia, known as the Bering Strait, there lies two small islands known as Big Diomede and Little Diomede.
Interestingly enough, Big Diomede is owned by Russia while Little Diomede is owned by the US.
The stretch of water between these two islands is only about 2.5 miles wide and actually freezes over during the winter so you could technically walk from the US to Russia on this seasonal sea ice.

Just for the record, Lisa despises Sarah. Lisa’s father, Frank, was the junior senator from Alaska when he ran for Governor and won. Frank had Lisa take his place in the Senate. Frank was a one term governor losing to an upstart former mayor of Wasilla. Sarah got the Alaskan law changed from Governor selection of replacements to votes by the people. I know both ladies personally.

I’ve been reading local comments and it seems the response to Palin is about 50/50. I live in AK and only read articles on the local conservative news sites. The anti Palin crowd is mostly just mad that she resigned as Governor before her term was up. I also saw a comment about her living in Arizona half the time, which ruffles some Alaskan feathers. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I think she’s a solid America First candidate. I’d hate to even look at the liberal leaning AK news comments.
She really didn’t have much choice after Alaska Dems used Lawfare to bury her in frivolous lawsuits.
I love Sarah but that was a bad move. She should’ve fought through it.

Her fiscal record as Governor leaves something to be desired, which admittedly leaves her open to criticism.
That said, she would serve about as well as Don Young. If I still lived in Alaska, I would volunteer to support her campaign.
Palin left Alaska with an improved credit rating, reduced earmark requests by 80% during her term, reformed the state’s pension plan, cut spending during a surplus & invested billions in savings. Alaska was also 2nd in job growth. Can you be more specific?

After her loss with McCain, weren’t there about 17 or 19 frivolous lawsuits brought against her as Governor? At that time the Governor had to fend for herself and ran up a $600k tab in legal fees if I remember right. They were also a distraction to her governance. I will go with President Trump’s endorsement as a recognition of the fact that Sarah Palin is a committed MAGA candidate and will seek legislation to override Biden’s attempts to shut down the oil & gas industry in Alaska. It is time to stop letting the Globalists do what is destructive to our country and its future. Now that Trump has assured us that Sarah Palin will work toward restoring our country to some semblance of a Republic, I think electing Palin will be an imperative for Alaska. All treepers should also support her and should work on getting rid of the corrupted Lisa Murkowski as soon as possible.
