In a very creepy public presentation today by Joe Biden highlighting the extension of the ‘violence against women act‘, Biden went through the stages of shouting then whispering as he delivered remarks about abuse and exploitation based on gender.
In part of his remarks, and trust me, the entire remarks were seriously disturbing, Joe Biden said, “I’ll bet everybody knows someone, somewhere along the line, that in an intimate relationship what happened was the guy takes a revealing picture of a naked friend, or whatever, in a compromising position, and then literally in a sense blackmails them or mortifies them.” WATCH: 26:55 prompted:
Maybe it’s my own naiveté, but I don’t know a single person this would relate to.
Perhaps this says something about the culture in/around Washington DC that sexploitation is such a familiar topic. Regardless, if these comments were in his teleprompter, that tells us a lot about the people surrounding the office of the president, and it is not good.
So I guess his next shtick will be to hand out free webcams?

Oh, it’s definitely a thing. When I was a teenager, I had a couple of people solicit me online for nude photos. (That was and is a hard no.) I know my husband had or has a few shots that I wasn’t supposed to know about. So yes, it’s definitely a thing.

You’re most likely right about it being a generational thing. Most the people on the Treehouse tend to be over a certain age. But there are LOTS of complaints from women my age and up to about ten years older about nude photos being solicited/taken of them/without their knowledge (and then of course there are the idiots who send them willingly.) But just because no one is soliciting the over-fifties doesn’t mean it’s “not a thing.”

I can tell you that college kids in the cell phone (1995 ish – forward) age definitely have grown up with “insta porn” kinds of pics. It’s a different world now. I was born in ’62- as a kid we had Poloroids.
