If a bank calls up your mortgage, you will have a set time to pay the remaining balance, 30 or 60 days. Obviously, most people don’t have that kind of money available. So your choices are to sell your home so that you can pay the bank, or have the bank repossess your home. In both cases you are out of a home, and in the second case you also lose all the money you have put into your mortgage.
The kicker is, if too many homes flood the market, the entire housing sector suffers and the real estate bubble could burst.
All credit card debt and other loans could be similarly called due.
So, the Evergrande debacle gets another push. I’m thinking that the 2007 real estate bust was a bubble compared to what this is going to be.
Here in Kentucky, they will sell your house at the courthouse door. If they get more than the amount owed, they will send you a check for the difference. Most people in default are way behind in payments and/or taxes and the house is in disrepair. In this case, maybe not.
I can’t imagine that calling in debt and mortgages is a smart move. The finance companies make money when you pay on your debt little by little. Making someone unemployed or penniless just leaves the institutions holding the bag.

As a Canadian, I am beyond appalled by the actions of my government.
But I watched a bit of the debate today in parliament (a form of punishment I would not inflict on any but my worst enemies) and came away with a sense that this latest overreach is a crude attempt to change the conversation away from viruses and vaccines to ’emergencies’. Almost no one talked about the uselessness of mandates or the failures of the vaccination program. And I think that is the point. Everyone is now talking about blockades, illegal occupations, blah blah blah.
I think it is a tactic to redirect the people away from assigning responsibility for two years of harsh lockdowns that we now know are useless, a vaccine that ‘wanes’ (to be charitable) and is injuring and killing people in unprecedented numbers. And the deliberate campaign to vilify cheap, safe and effective anti-viral therapeutics.
We cannot allow this to happen. I know there is a wave of excitement associated by the thought of redressing wrongs and punishing overreach. But it must be for the right reason and that is their criminal mismanagement of covid. Everything else is mostly theatre*.
*I am not discounting the real pain experienced by those affected by the arrests and bank account seizures. But the much bigger crime is the lockdowns and mandates resulting in crushed lives, lost businesses, despair and depression.

Can the leaders and police count on the military to back them up in that case? And if they do, that might bring out half a million armed citizens to confront them. And Canada’s military is all of 70,000 members strong.
I don’t think they could win against half a million citizens taking pot shots at them. Because for every one they killed 3 more might take their place. We’re very quickly approaching a nightmare situation in Canada … one created by Fabian Socialists and Marxists.
It would be happening now but instead the Citizens brought their peaceful grievance to Parliament only to be mocked, ridiculed, otherized and now financially ruined and their kids and pets taken away potentially and likely. Who knows what happens next but when your former self and everything you stand for and love is basically “murdered” by the state, you will fight with a righteous anger that cannot be contained.

New reporting re DCCC internal polls:

Now imagine what those number might be IF the honest scientists answer this question with an unequivocal peer reviewed study that says yes?

One person in one county in the country offered to assist with organization of a freedom convoy here in the states, only to retract her support because: extremism. So basically we can’t even inch forward since there are precious few stepping up, and of those that do, the left will always find some way to intimidate them into backing down and apologizing.
